Direct Downloading problems from iPhone
Hi,
I've had my iPhone for about 2 weeks. I've really had no problems until I put in the update. Now, I don't seem to be able to download directly to the iPhone, but have to go through iTunes from my computer.
Was OTA (Over the air) downloads taken out of the update? Or is it a faulty app on my iPhone? Is anyone else having this problem?

Anytime something doesn't seem to work right...do a reboot.
Try a reboot (described below).
Think of it this way, the iPhone is more of a computer than a phone. It suffers from being a new OS and nobody can deny there are not bugs and memory leaks. The longer left running, the more things start to fail or slow down (I have had the iPhone since day one of original phone and I am just speaking from my experience). Thus I equate it to like when Windows95 came out...not sure of your age or if you remember those days...but back then it was a running joke of how many days you can keep Windows 95 running before you had to reboot. I am sorry to say but the iPhone is the same way right now (but getting better with a few hiccups back during the 2.0 release). So for me, I reboot daily when I leave in the morning and take it off the charger. By doing so I rarely see any lag or problems.
A reset/reboot is:
Go to Home Screen
Press and Hold Home Button
Keep holding and press and hold Lock Button
Keep holding Both
You will see Slide to Turn Off (Don't let go to slide, just keep holding)
The phone will turn off (in time, but screen will look like it has some white lines)
Keep Holding
When you see the Apple Logo, you can let go.
Turning off via the Slide to Turn off while good and fine to turn off, is more like the Sleep Mode on a computer. Thus any locked up issues in memory remain when you turn back on. A reboot as described is like doing a real Turn off and Turn On on a computer.

Downloaded photos from the iPhone to the computer. Videos and photos transferred without problem.
Plugged in the iPod Touch (2) and all photos synced just fine, but no video appeared.
While the iPod was connected I looked In the menu bar of iPhoto, when I chose movies, none were listed.

Yeah, I have this problem too. Since the HD purchase usually includes the SD movie too, I am perfectly content to watch SD on my Windows computer and HD on my AppleTV.
Only workaround I've found for this is to buy the HD version of the movie on my iPad. Then, download it to my computer via iTunes or by transferring it from my iPad. I hear you can buy it on an iPhone too (4 or 4s) and achieve the same result.
But that's a terrible workaround. I have a number of other HD movies I've purchased with previous versions of iTunes, so this is absolutely something that Apple has introduced relatively recently. -

If so, you import the videos from the Camera Roll with iPhoto or with the Image Capture application. iPhoto is available to select photos and videos from with iMovie. -

I'd contact the iTunes store and explain your situation. While they normally do not allow duplicate downloads the iPhone and Store interface is brand new and bound to have some issues to start with. I'd suspect they'll just allow you to download it again or credit your account. -

We run Windows 7 here at work and when she goes to sync her iphone calendar to her laptop calendar some of the information is not transferring over. Yesterday we synced and everything was correct on both calendars but when we went back in today there were missing appts on the laptop calendar that were synced yesterday.

You are in a very dangerous situation and you need to fix it now.
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk. -
Missing iphoto pics after downloading photos from iphone
I downloaded photos from iphone to iphoto and now the only photos that appear in the iphoto library are the ones I just downloaded from the iphone, not any of the earlier ones. There is only one iphoto library to open. I was able to get all of the earlier photos back by option clicking the library but now the ones from iphoto are missing, despite there only being one iphoto library to open. How do I unite them?
This is likely the case. The only time I see double libraries is when I "Show package contents". Then there is a "library" (which has all the pics) and a library.photo and a library6.photo. Both look exactly the same as the real photo library but neither can be opened.
I can retake the pictures - it's only 20 or so now and recent too - I just wish I knew what had happened so that it wouldn't happen again!

iPhoto crashes when downloading photos from iPhone 4S.
I am running 10.6.8 with iPhoto 9.2.1 and iPhone 4S with latest iOS5.
When i try downloading the pics it stops and have to force quit.
I have tryed deleting the 3vix file as suggested on other threads but it is not present.
Any help would be appraciated!

how do you download photos from Iphone G3 into computer? Also how to download pictures/movie attached to instant message?
To download to your computer see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083. To download SMS pictures, tap the picture, tap the arrow botton on bottom left, tap Save. This will save it to your Camera Roll so you can download it to your computer the same as other pictures. (Same process for videos.)

Wjosten ... sorry to push in to this discussion ... but I have a related music question ... and thought you might be able to answer.
I know iOS does not enable audio files to be attached to text messages. I assume this is to prevent illegal sharing of songs. But who is actually saying 'no.' Is it the music owners (studios and publishers) who fear they will lose control of copyrighted songs (a la Napster)? Or is it Apple protecting the iTunes business. Or both. I wouldn't blame either ... they are just protecting their IP. I'm just curious. I wonder if the music companies suddenly decided to allow some kind of music file sharing via text messages ... would Apple (and Google) go along and enable such sharing on smartphones and devices ?? -

What version of Windows? In Windows 7 an iPhone shows up as a digital camera in the Computer section of the Start menu and you can import the photos from there. I'm not sure if it is the same in Windows 8 but it wouldn't hurt to check.

You don't. Itunes is not a contact/address program. It does not contain your contacts.
They would be in whatever program you chose to sync. Address Book for example.
