Direct Editing

Hi Everyone,
We have upgraded our NW04 to NW04s SP8, however we do not see the direct editing under system admin > system config>ume configuration.
How do we access the direct editing function now?
Thanks

Hi Reyna,
The recommended way of changing the UME properties is using the config tool. You can edit the properties using the config tool. Check this docu http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0b/50ad3e1d1edc61e10000000a114084/content.htm
Hope this helps.

  • What mac app will allow "direct editing" of an mp3 w/o recompressing?

the issue is that I'm using a low quality (poor mic) low resolution file (32kbps--which for lectures is doable) and need to edit it significantly. i have previously tried soundtrack pro 2, converting it to aif, editing, tried some processing to see if I could improve listenability, with some success... but when it is compressed back to mp3 at a reasonable resolution for download(these clips are 45mins plus in length), it introduces a lot of unwanted noise. even with all processing removed, leaving me with the original upconverted/edited file to recompress, I'm still unhappy with the results. so I figured I should find a program that would allow me to directly edit the mp3 file and then save out the changes. after googling, I thought Audacity might do this, but no advantage over STP.
apparently, windows has mp3cut and linux has WINE... if there a mac equivalent.

i'm short on time, but basically the problem is not that simple. converting a low quality/low resolution to AIFF will give you the same quality of sound as the original low quality file. once you begin editing the file it will require recompression to go back to mp3. recompression can retain the same listening quality provided you keep the resolution high enough, which then results in a much larger file. these files are long (45+ mins each) which make them larger than wanted. by being able to edit the mp3 directly, it doesn't require recompression, it simply removes the unwanted data and keeps the unedited data the same. it would be like using an mp3 splitter application, only you are making many edits. i can see this as doable and mp3trimmer might work if i can get it to show the waveform large enough to do the edits. I'm told there is a PC version which i am going to try, just to see if it will do the editing that i need to do, in which case I will be loading windows on my machine.

  • Unable to view direct editing

    Hi Team
Unable to view direct editing in the Um managent
please guide me through the steps to activate it
    Thanks
    Madhu

    Hi Madhu,
In EP 7.0 the Direct Editing has been removed and the same can find in config tool.
Login into Config Tool, Select Server ---  services --- com.sap.security.core.ume.service and then edit the properties accordingly which requires portal restart to reflect it.
Check it once and do let me know if you have any clarifications
    Cheers

  • Which software do you use to directly edit tags on your MP3 pla

    Hi all,
I recently bought a Creative Zen PhotoMicro. I'm very happy with it.
Due to my old home computer (with 8gb hard dri've...) I'm storing all my MP3 collection on several CD-Rs. I have transferred the MP3-files directly to my Zen via drag-'n-drop in Windows Explorer.
Recently I have discovered some mistakes in a lot ID3 tags of my MP3-files on my Zen. With the freeware application MediaMonkey it seems i can edit the tags just like I want to, but after reloading an album folder the changes weren't committed to my Zen.
With the Creative software suite it is possible to edit some the tags in batch, like Genre, Album and Artist names, but I need more clever tricks to update my tags (which Mediamonkey supports, but that doesn;t work...)
Anyone has a good working piece of software which is capable of batch processing ID3 tags on your Creative MP3 player? Please share your thoughts.
    Sappollo

And also MediaMonkey does work, you just have to hit "ctrl-s" to sync up the changes made within MediaMonkey to actually adjust the files.

  • Direct editing of raw file from LR in Camera Raw?

Does anyone know if it is possible to take a camera raw file from lightroom and open it directly in Camera Raw for editing rather than use the editing in LR itself. I thought I read somewhere that it is possible to do this as an automatic setting - when choosing the "edit in Photoshop" menu option a raw file will be opened in Camera Raw and the changes tracked in LR. I prefer the Camera Raw interface in Ps so am hoping I can do this and then proceed on to Ps if I need to do further processing.  I am using LR4 and Ps6 on a Mac with the latest updates.  I am a recent convert to LR/Ps from Aperture so am still learning. Any help appreciated. Cheers

I would recommend exploring several of the free tutorials  on the Adobe TV web site, before deciding on a specific workflow. LR Develop Module does the same things that ACR Plugin does in PS, the major difference being LR stores the info in the LR Catalog while ACR stores the info in .xmp sidecar files or within the DNG file if you are using that option. • How to directly edit PL/SQL Scripts

I can't open PL/SQL source files directly into a PL/SQL editor - they're opened as SQL scripts. The tool still seems targeted towards database maintenance rather than developing code held in a separate version control system.
Whilst technically the PL/SQL source files are just SQL scripts this doesn't make for easy PL/SQL development.
A change to a PL/SQL source file involves:
    - Open source file into SQL script tab.
    - Choose connection to run script against.
    - Run as a SQL script.
    - Close source file.
    - Navigate to package spec/body in tree browser and open read-only in a view tab.
    - Click to edit object source - opens in new tab.
    - Edit source and compile.
    - Add 'create or replace' at top and '/' at end.
    - Select 'Save As...' and navigate to original source file.
    - Close script window that this automatically opens for newly saved file, and close edit source tab. Same task in PL/SQL developer:
    - Open source file into a Program Window.
    - Edit source and compile.
    - Click save.
Making a single change is bad enough - try it when you're making substantial changes to a source file and you want to regularly check compilation and save changes.
Can anyone help make this easier ?

The tool still seems targeted towards database maintenance rather than developing code held in a separate version control system. They'll get to it eventually...
I can't open PL/SQL source files directly into a PL/SQL editor - they're opened as SQL scriptsIs the extension .sql? Change it to .pls or .pks/.pkb. They seem to use the dumb extension-based system to find out what files they are dealing with, instead of parsing the contents.
If the code doesn't get syntax coloured, open a function or procedure from database first, that seems to wake him up.
Also make sure the files are as the same as in the DB (with create or replace, without final slash), so you can compile them directly from the same file-based editor.
You still have to assign connection and navigate to the PL/SQL in the DB to view compilation errors and run/debug though. There are some requests on the announced SQL Developer Exchange for these (http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=42626:37:260789750723810::NO:::). Please vote for them to see them implemented.

  • Show scheduling message when direct edits to Start date

Is therre a way to show scheduling message when someone is editing the Start date directly for a task, I understand that a constrain get set by doing so, yet I also want to display some kind of scheduling message to the PMs, is it possible.

Yes, Julie you are right. If "Advice from Planning Wizard" option is cleared in Options, Project updates a  key to value 0
    Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\MS Project\Options\PlanningWizard\Display PlanningWizard
But if "Do not tell me about this again" is selected in Planning Wizard dialog the below key is updated and there is no way to turn this on through Options:
    Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\MS Project\Options\PlanningWizard\PlanningWizardCases
By default, the Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\MS Project\Options\PlanningWizard\PlanningWizardCases has the value 11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111
Also, there are several combinations too. If "Do not tell me about this again" is selected when a successor task is moved from the predecessor, the Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\MS Project\Options\PlanningWizard\PlanningWizardCases
    is updated with 11111111111011111111111111111111111111111111111111111

  • Cannot directly edit excel files on PC via Bluetoo...

I have a Nokia N96 and keep company documents and spreadsheets on it that I would like to edit via Bluetooth on my PC.  Problem is that whenever I open the phone in Nokia PC suite and open the documents they open as read only and I have to save them as a different file and then copy them back to the original directory in order for the changes to remain permanent.  All and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just realized that the individual mp3's on the pc were not set for sharing in their properties.
As soon as I changed that it all worked out fine...

  • Feature Request - Allow direct editing of hidden OCR text to correct errors

Examining an OCR-scanned PDF allows the OCR plain-text results to be "previewed," but in a read-only format.  We need to be able to edit this text to correct the inevitible errors.
I just scanned a document, and the results are mosty OK, but there are two lines that are complete garbage.  I personally have never performed a completely error-free OCR scan in Acrobat or anywhere else.  Editing the image text is no solution, especially if the font is unavailable.
Other OCR-enabled apps I have worked with expect you edit the results.  Acrobat should too.

If Adobe won't do it, maybe somebody else will.  Nuance.com specializes in OCR, among other things.  They've also got a PDF converter.  Maybe they'll recognize the value of marrying the two.

  • Directly Edit Apple iWork Pages Template

    Many apologies.
I am sure this must have been answered somewhere; but, can I find it?
Pages has a set of wonderful templates. However, I would like the facility to edit them.
For example, there is a template of the name Woodland Letter.
I can find the file, but I am unable to 'access for edit' the leaf or the light brown horizontal bar.
For example I would like to extend the bar's width further down the page by about 10mm.
    Thank you, in advance.

Apple uses many different ways to do the same things in the templates to demonstrate what is possible. Figuring out what they've done is not always easy. Choosing show layout & show invisibles is the best way to start figuring it out. The leaf & bar are Master Objects. Go to Format > Advanced & select Make Master Objects Selectable. The leaf, like the little picture, is an image placeholder, &, once it it is selectable, you can drag & drop another image into it. The bar is just a colored rectangle & you can change the fill color in the object inspector.

  • Trouble using mask tool and filter...Could not rasterize because the pixel data for this layer is not directly editable - masking

I've searched for an answer to the problem I'm having on cs4 and can't find it, so here goes:
New to photoshop,  I'm trying to fake some depth of field (i.e blur the background) on a wedding photo by using the masking tool to mask out the foreground then, out of mask mode> select>inverse to get the dotted line around the image, then using Filter>gausian blur on the background.
    1. The dotted line around the image doest look right
    2.  I can't use the filter facility (its greyed out) and when I try to use the blur tool from the side menu got the above message.
    Any help much appreciated.

Which operating system are you using?
I'm using Mac Lion V 10.7.5, working on a photoshop cs4 trial version (could be the problem?).
I Used the quick mask mode to mask the area.
Here's a screen shot - (I have blacked out some of photo for subjects' privacy):
    -  mask mode turned off, then Select>Inverse to show unmasked area  (note, the dotted line continues round the bottom of the pic which indicates to me I have made a masking mistake, as dotted line to mask out background only should go round the top & sides of the photo and then outline the couple, - right?
Image mode of image: If I understand correctly what this is, the image mode is .jpg
Bit depth of image: Bit depth of image is 8, color mode is RGB.
Hope I've given you the information you required.
    Thanks

Here is a template for large array storage/manipulation. As you can see, the array exists only in the shift register of the VI. Is is manipulated "in place" without unnecessary copies being passed to/from. The element is a typedef so it is easy to adapt the code to your array type (and add dimensions...).
