Direct JPEG Printing on a Mac

How do you direct print JPEG files without moving them to iPhoto and selecting them in iPhoto?
Direct printing of JPEG files on my daughter's HP PhotoSmart 7520 works with excellent color and no horizontal error line.
When direct printing JPEG on my new Officejet Pro 8620 The color is bad (Off Color) and an 8 x 11 print has about nine (9) horizontal error line on the page.

Hi,
Please use the following software to open file and print (you can also do many things):

  • Printing to a Mac shared printer from windows 8

    How can I print to a Mac shared printer (OS: 10.8.2) from my Windows 8 PC which is using the same Apple network?
    Matthias

    I have tried using Bonjour on for Windows on Win8 however while it finds the printer and can add it no problem whenever a job is sent to the printer a blank page is printed. The Win8 machine can print to the printer fine if directly connected and the same driver is used when printing via Bonjour so one can only assume it's a "communications" issue between the Win8 machine and my Mac Pro which is sharing the printer.

  • Need help connecting a windows network printer to my Mac (Xerox Phaser 3600) over a windows home network

    Need help connecting a windows network printer to my Mac (Xerox Phaser 3600) over a windows home network.
    My Mac runs lion and the windows desktop runs Windows XP
    I have tried for a few hours or so to connect my mac to this printer over a home network.
    For your information it does work when connected directly to my mac using a USB Cable.
    If there is no soultion could I have help getting the drivers for a Dell All-in-One Photo 926

    In most cases you can connect to the Windows shared printer from the Mac. But there is a dependence on the Mac driver being compatible. For many consumer inkjets, the vendor created driver cannot be used for this type of connection so you need to look at alternative drivers, such as Gutenprint or PrintFab. If you can tell us which brand and model of printer you have shared from Windows then we can answer your question with the preferred procedure on the Mac.

  • I'd like to buy an all-one print, scan, fax wireless laser printer for my Mac.  Any suggestions?

    Any suggestions for a laser all-one, wireless, print, scan, fax printer for my Mac Air?
    Suggestions gratefully accepted.

    Yes printers (their drivers mostly) can become obsolete. Laser printers are so inexpensive I would lean that direction (often new ink cost more than a new printer). That being said when you combine functions you make sacrifices. A laser printer/fax would be, in my opinion, the way to go. If you need a scanner I would make it separate.
    I have had good luck with HP - the school district I worked for also used (standardized) to HP. At times Epson has worked well with Mac's - and then there are other times. I think as long as you stay with a top tier brand (look at what Apple is bundling with their new sales) you'll be all right.
    Of course you budget, the number of times you expect to scan, fax and print should drive the decision.
    I have a ~$100 Brother Laser Printer networked through my Mac Pro (it prints wirelessly) and has done so for going on 10 years. I have an HP Photosmart 6800 about the same age. As you can tell I'm not a fan of AIO's.

  • How do I set up for Wireless printing on a Mac

    Hi Guys,
    I have purchased the HP Laser jet P1102w recently.  I took the printer on a location job and used it for the first time.  It was quite a soimple process of connecting the printer and MAC automatically downloaded and installed the software.
    As we were out of the office, we were not connected to the wireless network and therefore was not able to set up the printer on the netwrok.
    Now that we are back in the office I want to set up the printer so that it can be used wirelessly by all the devices connected to the network.
    I am unable to work out how to do this on MAC OS X 10.6.8.  I removed the printer from the Print & Scan Utility and tried to install it again while connected to the network, however I am still only able to print while connected by USB.
    I understand that I can print via the connected device on the network but would rather have it set up to do so wireless all together.
    Please can you point me in the direction of finding the instructions to set this up?
    All help is most appreciated.

    Hi @EI2014 ,
    Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. Sometimes the Embedded Web Server won't open in other browsers.
    Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
    Clear out any old network settings on the printer.
    Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.
    Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are cleared.
    Printing a Configuration Page.
    Connect the USB cable from the printer to the Mac.
    Go to the Apple, system preferences, print and fax.
    Double click on the P1102w.
    Open the utility.
    Click printer setup.
    Click HTML config.
    This should open the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
    Click the Networking tab.
    Click Wireless from the list on the left.
    Under Communication Mode , click Infrastructure.
    Select your network SSID from the Available Network Names (SSID) list and then click the << button so the network name moves over to other box.
    From the Security Mode pop-up menu under Authentication , click WEP, WPA/WPA2 or open . Your selection depends on which Wireless Security Protocol your network uses.
    Make sure you select either hexadecimal or alpha depending on your password. (very important)
    Apply the settings.
    In the confirmation box (changes have been saved), click OK.
    You should get a solid blue light on the printer shortly.
    Then all we have to do is delete the USB driver and add the network driver.
    Click on the Apple.
    Click system preferences.
    Click the print and fax icon.
    Highlight the printer and click on the - sign to delete the printer. (USB driver)
    Disconnect the USB cable.
    Then click the + sign and select the printer from the list and click add. (p1102w bonjour)
    Test the printer.
    If you have any issues with the HTML config opening then do the following steps:
    Close any applications.
    On the Apple menu bar, click Go, computer, MAC harddrive, Library, Printers, HP, LaserJet, click on folder for your printer, click on EWS browser or HTML config, click the Networking tab, click wireless on the left and fill out your information. (make sure infrastructure is selected) Apply settings.
    Then delete the USB driver and add the network printer.
    Test the printer.
    If you need further assistance, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • Printing from my mac - problems

    I have upgraded my NM to 5.5 on my XP desktop, Windows7 laptop and Mac BookPro Snow Leopard - I can share files no problem and can print from both windows machines, but I cannot print from my mac.  The Canon MP480 is directly connected to the desktop with XP.  I have installed the drivers from my Snow Leopard installation CD and also went thru system preferences and added it in the IP section with the IP address of my desktop - 192.168.1.107 -- any ideas?
    Thanks!

    Hi, did you try using the NM Mac Add on?  It does work on Snow Leopard now.
    My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
    Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
    Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
    Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
    Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008
    Please note that though I am a beta tester for Network Magic, I am not a employee of Linksys/Cisco and am volunteering my time here to help other NM users.

  • How can I get a Print Screen on Mac?

    How can I get a Print Screen on Mac?

    There is no direct way to print the screen in OS X.
    What you can do -
    Take a screenshot of the screen. Press Command-Shift-3 and a picture of the screen's contents will be taken, then placed as a type .png image file on the Desktop. You can then open that image in Preview by double-clicking the image file, and print it from Preview.
    Other screenshot commands -
    Command-Shift-4 changes the cursor to a crosshair. Drag that to enclose just the part of the screen that you want to capture, and release. The image file created will include only the part of the screen selected.
    Command-Shift-4 followed by pressing the Spacebar will change the cursor to a glyph of a camera. Click this in a specific window, such as a doc window, pulldown or popup menu, etc., and just that window will be included in the screensot.
    Command-Shift-Control-3 and Command-Shift-Control-4 will take their respective screenshots but place the result on the Clipboard rather than generating an image file on the Desktop. This image on the clipboard can then be pasted into a document of your choice.

  • Spool versus direct to printer settings - short term fix to problem, HP bug to be resolved?

    I had an issue with a large Excel document not printing. All other software, internet, faxes and scanned documents printed fine. In an HP technician chat, the issue was resolved via (in my opinion) a bypass of selecting the direct to printer option versus the spooling option which according to the advanced settings enables faster printing. When I asked the technician if this would ever be an option, he said not to worry that the speed should be quite fast direct to the printer. I'm still wondering whether this is a bug and will be an HP option as displayed in the advanced settings at t some point in the future.
    Regards,
    Mary

    You have not mentioned it but based on some of the things that you have said, I would assume that the Mac's are bound to a domain. So, for one of these Mac's, if you logged on locally and then created a print queue to the network printer, do you get the same message?

  • Unable to print from my Mac system, but my other computers work

    Have you encountered a problem printing from your Mac computer and it seems to work from everything else?
    I have looked at several posts regarding to printing from a Mac.  PrintDoc seems has a solution that can resolve most of the printing issues from Mac when other devices work.
    1.  Reset the printing system by clicking on Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system and following the steps exactly.  This will reset just the printing system back to a fresh start.  This works for 10.5 to 10.7.
    2.  Download and install the driver package Apple has here.  This driver package will work for most HP printers.  There is a link at the bottom of the driver page to verify that your printer is included.  If it is not, check HP's support and drivers page at www.hp.com to download the right driver package for your printer.
    This will resolve printing issues on Mac systems when the problem is isolated to the Mac.

    I am trying to connect a Windows 7 / 64 bit to an Epson printer on my Mac.  The printer is hooked into the Mac via USB; the Mac is networked to a Linksys wireless router with an ethernet cable, as is the Windows box. I installed the current Bonjour printer services software on the Windows machine, and separately installed the driver software for the Epson printer on the WIndows machine.  Running the bonjour wizard, I get an alert saying 'I don't have sufficient access to my computer to connect to the selected printer'.
    The printer has 'sharing' turned on from the Mac end; this works with a Powerbook via the wireless connection.  Sharing is also turned on in the Windows printer control panel for this printer (under properties).  The Mac is a G5 running 10.5.8.  When I try to print a page from the Windows machine it gets hung in the print queue.
    Any advice how to proceed would be appreciated!

    Hi Heidi
    I have already tried printername := 'I.T Printer'; but result is same.
    This is also my default printer and I tried to add / remove the following coding
    Add_Parameter(pl_id, 'DESNAME', TEXT_PARAMETER, PRINTER);
    but in both cased I received the same error.
    I also tried to print thru HOST command as follows
    the_username := Get_Application_Property(USERNAME);
         the_password := Get_Application_Property(PASSWORD);
         the_connect := Get_Application_Property(CONNECT_STRING);
    the_command := 'rwrun60 report=c:\wegt001r.rdf userid= '||the_username||'/'||the_password||'@'||the_connect||' DESTYPE=Printer BACKGROUND=NO BATCH=YES ERRFILE=c:\reports\error.log LOGFILE=c:\reports\joblog.log p_eq_nbr='''||'TESTMKI'''||' p_wt_gkey=118306';
    Host( the_command );
    Host command displays correctly but no printing.
    I then change my command as follows
    the_command := 'rwrun60 report=c:\wegt001r.rdf userid=test/test@test DESTYPE=Printer BACKGROUND=NO BATCH=YES ERRFILE=c:\reports\error.log LOGFILE=c:\reports\joblog.log p_eq_nbr='''||'TESTMKI'''||' p_wt_gkey=118306'; and now report prints on printer.
    But I cannot hard coded the username, password and connect.
    Thanks,
    Hassan

  • Windows 2003 reports server. printing direct to printer

    has anyone got any ideas on the best method/practice for allowing database to submit a print job direct to printer.
    we have a forms environment, 10g, and users can run reports which allow them to select parameters, then print to screen, from which point they can then print manually or save, but we also have a need to submit jobs under the bonnet so to speak, ie. trigger event takes place in the database, send print to printer. note, the print being sent is pdf format.
    many thanks
    jb

    I'm exploring options for the same requirement. There appear to be 2 utilities available - Reports J2EE thin client and Reports Remote Printing Utility (orarrp). ORARRP is more for a forms/reports environment. Do a search in Metalink for ORARRP and you'll find several threads with documentation links. Unfortunately both utilities require client installs. Good luck!

  • Print PDF Directly to Printer - Margins cut off

    Hello,
    I am using an application called PeopleSoft, and we generate out report files in PDF format.
    If I direct the output file directly to the printer then the right and bottom margins are cutting off the document text.
    Whereas, if I direct the printer out put to a network drive, then open the PDF in an PDF reader of Acrobate, then print the file it works fine.
    Can anyone explain to me why this is so, and if there is a way to change the margins, when sending the output to the printer. To ensure the entire document is printed.
    Thanks in advance,
    Matt.

    Yes, same PDF file.
    I run a batch process that generates the report output file, I can choose to direct the output directly to a network printer, or save it to a network drive.
    If I choose to direct the output run to the printer then the right margins and bottom margin is cutting off the text of the actual report file.
    However, if I direct the output to be saved to the network drive, then open it using Adobe Reader, then print it, the entire report document fits easily within the margins and no text is being cut-off.
    I lack the technical knowledge to explain how/why this is happening.
