Direct link to specific page in page flip swf?

This may have an easy answer, but is there a way to link directly to a specific page in a page-flip swf via direct link from another site/web page/etc.?
If my page flip swf is on myzines.com/2010-08-01.html ...
Is there a way to link from any other web page to the page noted above and directly to page 12 of the swf?
Something like myzines.com/2010-08-01.html#page12 or myzines.com/2010-08-01.html?page=12 perhaps?
Seems like it should be possible, but I'm not seeing it and haven't seen anything in the forums. Any leads would be appreciated.

Unable to link to specific OEM target pages

We have about 400 individual targets we monitor through grid control. I'm creating some documentation (in MS Word) and including hyperlinks to specific target pages - eg: http://gcserver:port/em/console/monitoring/hostOverview$type=host$target=host_name
When I select the url through from within the word document, it tries to load the selected page and then takes me to the GC home page instead(http://gcserver:port/em/console/home). However, I can paste the correct URL directly into the address bar of a new browser session it works fine.
Any ideas?

I was just trying to do the same thing and get the same results. The issue seems to be with MS Office and how it interprets the link. I think it is the $ in the link. Still looking for a fix.

This is called deep linking. I think the most widely used deep linking "plug-in" is Asual's SWFAddress.
With this, you can have the browser's address bar virtualy change page when the user changes page in your flash; but the reverse is also true, SWFAddress can detect a "virtual" page from the browser.

OIM 11g: send direct link to approval tasks in email notification

Hi all!
What do I want to achieve: I want to send email notification to assignee in case if some approval task in OIM has assigned to them and this notification must have a direct link to the page of approval task details from which assignee can approve or reject an approval task.
The default email notification that exists in approval task “DefaultRoleApproval” has a direct link to a request details page:

If at all you cannot get the direct link for approve/reject then try the actionable email from SOA. Once you have that configured the emails gets approver/reject links so that approvers can directly approve/reject the task from email. If that works for you then you can look at the format of those links in the email and deduce what you need the url as.

Ability to link directly to a specific portion of text, not a page view or zoomed view

Adobe Acrobat XI Pro - it is still a pdf editor according to the description Adobe has on its product description pages.
So why is it so clunky to create a basic link to a specific sentence or paragraph?
This feature works seamlessly in Word. Yes, in Acrobat you can link to a general page destination, and you can blow that view up to show it - but that just looks weird when the reader is suddenly confronted with zoomed in text as he or she is browsing a file I send and clicks the link I created. It breaks the reading flow.
Some detail of what I mean:
I send a pdf to a customer. I created it from Word. I have a header - I want to link it to a specific sentence further in the document. The customer clicks the link and suddenly his eyes pop out of his head as I have had to expand the page view with my link so that he sees it straight away. Or I choose not to expand the view and instead when he clicks the link he sees a whole page. Now he has to browse through the entire page to find what I want him to see - not very good for keeping a customer happy.
This seems to be such a simple feature to add that I am disappointed Acrobat doesn't offer it.
Please - whatever the nature of the beast that you developers think this product is, some features are kind of basic and important still. This is one of them and it is painful that it is still absent.
PS: I have a feeling that this feature as I described it once existed, long ago. I used to receive help files for software and am nearly certain I was able way back then to click to specific paragraphs.

You can download the trial version (http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-downloads.html) to convert the PDF back to WORD if you do not have the original. The conversion may not be perfect, but it is typically better than starting from scratch. You may be lucky and get a good result. You might check the settings (in the save screen) to try retain format versus retain text flow. The format version can be a pain to edit since it creates a bunch of text boxes. The flow version may require you to reformat in WORD, but you likely would want to do that anyway.

Iam working on a EREC implementation in an integrated scenario. The TREX installation has not been completed yet but i still wanted to check on the other links which does not use the TREX search engine.
I created a requisition object and succesfully published the job. When trying to use the Apply Directly link in the Internal / External candidate page to apply against the Job posting, I get the below error.
Iam sure "apply directly" does not use TREX unlike Job search. Can someone help me with clues what the below error is all about.

When i performed a syntax check on Class CLHRRCF_APPLY_QLIST_V, i get to see the below error description;

Linking to specific pages within several other pdfs

My source pdf has ~700 references and I need to create a link to each reference (target pdfs). There are hundreds of target pdfs and the source document references different pages within each of the target pdfs. The target pdfs need to contain the entire document and not just the cited pages. What I am doing is creating a link and selecting opening a file. What I am not able to do, is assign a page number to this link so that a certain page will appear instead of page 1. I understand that you can set the initial view with file properties, but that will not work as I would then have to create a pdf for each link and there are far too many references to do that. Here is a sample "Reference at pp. 2, 4, 6." and in this sample I want a separate link for each reference that will go to page 2, page 4 and page 6 (again I need the entire document for reading purposes for these links and not these specific pages).

Flash not showing up on page but works through direct link

So I just inserted a flash object into my dreamweaver page.
The flash works fine the direct link here works: http://www.abbottsports.com/tennis/flash/tennismenu.swf

it's just blank space.

Lots of conflicting info here.
The page you linked to is using a different .swf:

which calls for swfversion (actually this means which Flash version to use)
<param name="swfversion" value="6.0.65.0" />
which is a really, really old version.. not sure if that even works.... change to version 10.
Since you have the .swf in a different folder than the HTML Web page, there could very well be pathing problems if the Flash uses any external files ... like images or .xml files. Are there any other Flash related files besides the .swf? What else is in the "flash" folder?

There is no Flash player version 15 (yet)... change that to version 10 also.
Then there is the matter of coding errors on the page... of which there are many!

Safari loads main pages of eBay, Staples, etc before loading direct link

We have a slow internet connection at home and I've noticed recently that when I click a direct link to a subpage on a website, like a product page on eBay or Staples, it will load the entire main page (eBay.com, staples.com) and then once that entire page is loaded, then it starts loading the product page. The end result is that it takes twice as long to get to the page I wanted. Not a big deal if you're on a fast internet connection, but so frustrating when you're surfing in the slow lane. Any ideas as to how I can disable this "feature"/glitch?
I'm on a macbook pro retina with the most recent version of Mavericks if that helps (Safari 7.0.4)

Sounds like a cache issue ..
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
