Directing url logins to Oracle apps

Hi,
If I connect to Oracle apps using this link:
http://adedapo.gbitero.com:8001/
and I want to access the same page using http://www.scm.gbitero.com or http://scm.gbitero.com
What is the best way to do this?
Is this the alias/ virtual host thing of the apache?

I'm not sure about using both of those URLs, normally they'd be separate servers which I think is ok. Check the doco e.g. DMZ/internal config.
One thing to point out is that it is not just one port that is used with Oracle EBS. Sure 8005 in your case would be the main port for HTML/OAF based pages within EBS, but you've also got Forms on (probably) 9005, plus if you use things like Discoverer, OEM and other products that run on separate ports then if they "have not been configured" then you'll have problems with those.
I'm guessing you've got Firewalls that prompts your "have not been configured" statement. You'll need to look closely at the required incoming ports and allow them through firewalls (+ routers if necessary).

I assume you mean in the security settings screen of IE. There are several differences:

User even changed above IE setting according to the other IE but he still gets the same error.

XML Report in Arabic login in Oracle apps

I have created a XML report in Oracle apps, the data is coming properly from english login.
But when we login from Arabic Login then report does not show any data.
The data does not come even after hard coding the values.
Any clue for the issue..
Below is the main query in the report.

looks like that for Arabic language you haven't some data
in your main query you have PER_TIME_PERIODS_V which based on HR_LOOKUPS which depend on session language

Do the shell script have to login into Oracle Apps

I am calling the Document Processor Java API from a shell script. The problem I have that its unable to find the
xdo://PO.POXPRPOLXMLRTF.en.US/?getSource=true
file within the control file.
Is this because somewhere a shell variable needs to be set, or a login need to be made into the Oracle Apps, so this template stored in XML Publisher is accessible.
Please advise!

Another things you can do is

Once you do this, when the TESTUSER logs in with the password=changeme, he/she will be redirected to the change password page.

We had cloned one instance and after the clone the self service login is not opening . This is 11.5.8 version of oracle Applications.
I can able to login to dev60cgi/f60cgi page and no issues on that . i am facing the issues at self service.please suggest.

The issue got resolved and the forms are opened . Issue is with the tnsnames.ora in $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/network/admin. we are doing this DB clone in new host and the host entires in tnsnames.ora is rooting to old host entires. We found that and corrected to the new host entries and the issue got resolved. Thanks for your suggestions.Thanks for share solution

Oracle Apps and HTML DB Integration Problems

Hi,
I have integrated Oracle Apps and HTML DB, using custom authentication schema so that HTML DB looks for APPS username and password for validation.
Also, i have created menu, responsiblity, functions, custom application etc, so that user can login from Oracle Apps login screen and then select the responsibility which will redirect to HTML DB Applications page.
My problem is, once the user clicks on the Responsbility and the function(which is nothing but HTML DB Page), it is redirecting to login page and i need to re-enter the apps user name and password again to access HTML DB applications.
Is there any way, can i redirect the user directly into my HTML DB application page, without taking him to login page of HTML DB application and also uses the APPS user name and password which he had entered in the Oracle Apps login page.
I need your help on doing the same. Please respond.

Thanks for the quick reply. I agree with you in terms of validating the session but I haven't been able to get that to work - one of my earlier posts describes the issues I have experienced:
Authentication and SSO (non-Oracle)
I suppose my question is - is there a simple way for the APEX app to validate that there is an active Apps session cookie?
In terms of the encrypted password, what I have been trying to do was make use of the FND_WEB_SEC.VALIDATE_LOGIN method which is described in other posts and the Scott Spendolini presentation on integrating apps.

Using Discoverer with Oracle Apps

Hi,
I have Oracle Apps vision instance on my laptop. I installed Discoverer Administrator and Desktop. But when I connect through Desktop, it only recognizes database users. When I check Application User check box still it did not recognize the Oracle Apps user 'SYSADMIN', the error message is 'Invalid username/password' which is a valid user and I could login to Oracle Apps using it and it has many responsibilities.
Is there a step I am missing to synchronize Apps users with database or Discoverer Administrator/Desktop so that I can login to Desktop using Apps user to create workbooks.

Thanks for the reply. At the time of creation of EUL it gives two options
1. Grant Access to Public
2. New EUL is for use by Oracle Applications users only
When I selected the second one I am not able to access it by any user from desktop tool but when I used the first option I can only login from Desktop using database users only not Appliations users, it gives error message 'Invalid username/password'. I dont see anywhere else I need to do something while creating EUL.
Please give me the insight into this.

How to Build Custom JSP Page to bypass Oracle Apps Login

Can some one guide me how to develop a custom jsp page to bypass Oracle Apps R12 Login.
Actually Our requirement is some external user will enter the login details in some third party login page with the third party generated username and passwrod, that user's credentials are mapped to oracle system,so as soon as they enter credentials having validated it has to redirect that external user to Oracle Apps R12 Home Page, where responsibilities are shown. Currently that third Party login page is set to redirect to RF.jsp but that is not working and throws this error:
"You are trying to access a page that is no longer active.
- The referring page may have come from a previous session.Please select Home to Proceed"
So I am planning to build a custom jsp page to resolve the error.
As soon as user enter credentials in the third party login page, it will be redirected to my custom login page which in turn redirect external user to Oracle Apps R12 Home Page, where responsibilities are shown. Is it possible? If yes what JSP Page/Servlet I have to invoke from custom JSP Page and what all URL parameters or session parameters and cookies parameter I have to pass or set.
Can anybody please help me...

Login in to OBIEE with Oracle Apps Credentials

How can i connect to OBIEE repository and presentation services using Oracle Apps (ebusiness suite) user name and password the same way it can be done in discoverer.

Oracle apps 12.1.3 login issue

Hi ,
The user has encounetered the below error when he logged into the oracle applications instance
unable to generate forwarding URL.Exception: oracle.apps.fnd.common.AppsException:oracle.apps.fnd.common.PoolException:Exception creating new poolable object
I checked with the below metalink ID but all the dns entries seem to be good and i can perform nslookup
without any errors .So this ID is not helpfil

Can anyone help me on this as this is urgent issue for me?

Oracle Apps: direct access to OAF page is not working

Hi,
i have 3 OAF pages in E-Bussiness suite (ORACLE APPS).
i am trying to access directly as URL to one of the OAF page.
In one instance it is opening correctly but in other instance it throws an error below:
" You are trying to access a page that is no longer active.
- You may have attempted to access to this page directly by bookmarking the page or copying the URL. This page does not support bookmarking.
- The referring page may have come from a previous session. Please select Home to proceed. "
i think i need to set some profile option. i don't know that.
And one more thing, the instance in which the direct URL is working opens directly without asking front end username and password and the opened page doesn't contain Logout option.

500 InternalServerError when calling app with same url than oracle app

Hello
i wonder if some one could help us.
we are running an application on oas developed with forms 10g on a specific IP say
ip 10.10.10:9999 and this application is calling other application (a jsp) on another server
and to call it i use:
Web.show_document (http://10.10.10:9080 ,'_blank');
but that other application is on the same ip than the oracle application
when this hapens the listener try to connect itself 5 time then it just
give the 500 InternalServerError .
any idea why this is happening

i forgot to say that when i use the following command :
webutil_Host.host('cmd /C START iexplore "'||v_url||'"');
it works
i think that is because is a new sesion???

the oracle aplication is developed in Forms [32 bits] Versión 10.1.2.3.0 (Producción)
the server is
10g Release 2 (10.1.2) Patch Set 3 (10.1.2.3.0) for Solaris Operating System
the jsp is in a was server it is version 6 the java aplication is developes using jdk 1.4 but is running on a jre 1.6.0_11
bouth applications have the same ip differt ports
when oracle app calls the java app use the
http://999.999.999.9/dir/dir.do?parameters.....
the port is not especified but is different
when the java application calls the oracle aplication the url is something like
http://999.999.999.9:8888/forms/frmservlet?config=oracle_aplication&otherparams=
if the urls are call directily from a browser they work fine.
has it got something to do with the configuration of the single sing on ??
any help or idea will be very apreciated

Oracle Apps R12 iRec URL Redirection issue

Dear Friends,
We have configured R12 i-Rec in an server and placed in DMZ.
we have made this server as external and we have made the irec responsibilities to external and using the DMZ Server URL we were able to work without any issue.
Now to publish this URL to Interner users with https and Port masking , we have mapped this URL http://abc.com:8020 to https://xyz.com using Microsoft UGC Firewall 2010.
Now from Internet we were able to hit the URL https://xyz.com and could login as oracle application user with the same url https://xyz.com
But when we click any of the irec responsilities (irecruitmnt agency (or) others) which is made external, the page is redirected to the Real DMZ Server URL http://abc.com:8020/OA_HTML/...
and it shows error:
The page cannot be displayed.
I believe it should not happen , throughout the session it has to maintain the same new URL
Please let us know the Fix.
