Directing where new contacts are entered

I have my iPhone set up for both MobileMe and Exchange. If I go to groups, I can see the two seperate directories there. It appears that any new contact I enter on the iPhone goes to the exchange directory. Is there a way to control where a new contact lands, or change the default from Exchange to MobileMe?

I don't have both MobileMe and Exchange so I am not sure this works. Have you tried viewing a group and then creating a contact while in that group?

Check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section) to be sure you have selected iCloud as your default. Otherwise the contacts you are adding on your phone are not being added to iCloud.

Okay, I really need help. All of my new contacts that I add onto my Iphone 4 (iOS 7.0.2) are not being sent to iCloud at all. All of my other contacts are their and if I edit them on my phone they show up editted on all my other devices (2009 purchased macbook pro and 2013 purchased macbook pro). But if I add a new contact it wont show up on any other device! Someone please if you have any help please lend a hand!

How do I change where my contacts are saved when entered via the phone?

I use multiple e-mail accounts and do not like to sync all those with my phone. I prefer to save my phone contacts on the 'back-up assistant'. My new Droid is saving all of them to my hotmail account instead of the 'phone'. How do I change that?

New contacts are not saved?

when I import vcf-files, I can see them in the imported contacts, but when i quit the adress book and re-open it, the imported contacts have disappeared.

Hi Denisej and others who have encountered the same problem,
I tried your work around. Unfortunately it did not work out for me because in my contacts there are an unknown number that still "refused" to be imported like that. When such a contact was in the group I selected for import the whole lot would be lost again after re-opening Address Book. Finally that meant that I had to import each contact one-by-one, each time with the need to close down Address Book. A job to go nuts and end up with a mouse injury. So I decided to use the Migration Assistant that Lion now offers

together with Windows Migration Assitant on my old PC. Obviously both Mac and PC have to be on the same network. For this I did not need to do anything special. Both make use of the same router and that is apparently sufficient. When migrating the contacts Lion creates a new account, so you need to log in to that new account to see your migrated contacts. I used the Export Address Book Archive function in the Address Book menu to copy the lot to my own Apple account. I got rid of the new account and I was finally where I wanted to be in the first place.

Have you checked the filtering option in contacts? Open contact menu button > filter. Perhaps you have a filter hiding the contacts.

How to make Apple TV update photos as new photos are entered into CPU?

Here's my situation -- we are having a Halloween Party this Saturday and I wanted to be able to have people sit in front of my computer and take a picture of themselves with Photo Booth. They would then drag their picture into an album (I don't care if it's MobileMe Gallery, Album, etc.). A slideshow will be going in the other room from that folder via the Apple TV. The problem is getting that slideshow to update occasionally with the new pictures as they are dropped into the folder.
Any ideas other than having to back out to the main menu each time and restarting the slide show???

I have two hard drives connected to my computer. My primary drive is a 128gb SSD drive. I attempt to keep only installed programs on that drive. My second drive is a 2TB device that I use to keep all the working files and everything else. When I created a recent video project I thought that I was keeping all the files for that project on the 2TB drive, but after saving the project the first time I realized that all the CFA and PEK files and probably others, were being saved on to the 128GB SSD drive.
How do I keep that from happening again? I would like to keep everything related to a video project in a single folder so that I can delete everything when the project is done, and therefore I can keep my computer clean of all the junk that is no longer needed.

Getting "An unknown error has occurred" when trying to save a new contact

Scenario:
Using Outlook 2003 and Oracle Connector for Outlook 10.1.2_03 against an OCS 9 installation.
When I make a new contact and try to save it I get an error message in a popup window (with the title "Microsoft Office Outlook") with the text "An unknown error has occurred.".
Anybody seen this?
How can I troubleshoot this?

The first thing to do would be to set up logging through Connector. Under the Help menu, select "Outlook Connector Troubleshooting..." and the dialog has a few logging options. The section that might be of interest here is Calendar, since that is where your contacts are stored.
Other than that, try recreating your user's Outlook profile to see if that fixes the problem.

Two sorted lists after adding a new contact

I got a new N73 (actually by Softbank Japan 705NK, language set to English), synchronized it to Outlook, so I had a couple of contacts in the contact list of my phone. They were all correctly sorted.
When I now added new contacts to the phone (not via Outlook, but directly inside the phone), I got a second sorted contact list before the existing one, i.e. all new contacts are not automatically inserted into the existing list of contacts, but a second list of contacts (which is sorted again) is generated. So now I have two sorted lists followed by each other, first the contacts inserted via the phone, second the contacts synchronized via Outlook/Nokia PC Suite.
Did anyone experience this problem? How can I get one sorted list instead of two lists?

My thinking about deleting from the phone after synch-ing the contacts to Outlook was indeed that if you don't remove them, the synch won't see any reason to update them on the phone.
Your point about sync deleting them is a good one, which is one reason I thought you might have to remove all contacts from the phone before synching back.
Either way, I'd take a backup before you try anything
