I want to use my old 4G ipod to listen to audio books I loaded into my computer from CD's

Another thing to remember is the phone is actually usable for 911 calls and maybe others. Not a real good idea. Especially for a child.
It would depend however on the age of the child.
    Good Luck

  • How long can I expect the battery to last when listening to audio books

My batteries seem to lose power quickly.  How long should I expect it to last when listening to audio books or radio?

May 30 hour with audio book since that is the same as music.
Radio is a lot less since that requires wifi. Maybe 10 hours

  • I was listening to Audio Books on my iPod Touch in the car when the speed changed to fast forward on all the audio books. How do I correct this?

I was listening to Audio Books on my iPod Touch while on a motor trip when the speed of the playback suddenly changed to fast forward for all the stored audio books. How can I correct this?

Actually found this answer in the archives: When the audio book is playing, hold finger on middle of screen until the speed selection message appears and change from 2x to 1x. Thanks for your response though!

  • Why can i no longer listen to audio books i bought on i store - won't recognise my password?

  • When listening to audio books after several parts it skips back to part one and starts playing all over.

Why is my iPod nano skipping back to part one after listening to several parts of an audio book.  The book starts all over from the beginning and when I get to the part I stopped on, it will not let me skip to the next part.

Have you tried a simple reset of the iPod to see if that does any good first?  To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
It might also hurt to try a full restore of the iPod in iTunes as well.  This process wipes all content from the device, resets all settings back to their defaults, and reloads a fresh copy of the iPod's software onto the device.  This would help eliminate the possibilty of a software issue/glitch and/or data corruption on the iPod.

  • Listening to audio books - will stop when trying to read email or use web

I am having a problem...if you are listening to a audio book and then try to check email or web...the audio book will just stop and then you have to fast forward to find your place because its not saved.
Has anyone else seen this and any known work around?

I'm having the same exact same problem. I'm assuming it's a bug in the iPhone software and hoping it will be fixed in an update. I may formally report it to Apple and/or contact support about it.

  • How to listen to audio books on ipod touch, how to listen to audio books on ipod touch

I have an ipod touch 32gb.  I just downloaded a sample of an audio book to listen to.
However, I can't for the life of me get the audio to work.
It just shows the book in print form.
It is an audio book, I verified that.
    Help would be appreciated!

Actually, this is my first time exploring books of any type via itunes.
I've been only a music girl...
The book in question: The Ultimate Happiness Prescription by Deepak Chopra. It is listed under Audio Books.
I clicked the sample and it sent to my ipod touch.
I see the book under the book APP, but it's in print form only.
Obviously, I am a dumb bell when it comes to books!  Maybe I'll stick with music!

  • Can't listen to audio books downloaded to ibooks

i downloaded what I thougth were audio books onto Ipad--listened to preview worked fine---downloaded---onto Ibooks---can read book but not audio

You don't need to post twice.
Are you playing the books in iBooks or the Music App? I'm just guessing here - I don't have audio books but most audio content plays in the Music App. Launch the app and tap on More at the bottom and see if the books are in there.

  • Why am I no longer able to download and listen to audio books on my iPhone?

My iPhone 4S no longer will play audio books or sync them from my personal iTunes library.  The audio books will complete the download process on my phone but they do not appear in the music app on my phone so they can't be played.  Does anyone know why or how to fix it?

    Hi, Jrpaige7.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can still copy and paste material from various applications in iOS 7.  Here are the steps on how to process these steps.

If you are experiencing issues with this functionality, I would recommend closing multitasking and power cycling the device.
iOS: Force an app to close

  • Removing listened to audio books

Hi how on earth do I remove a already listened to book off my ipod ( i have a 2nd generation click wheel)thanks inadvance for anyones help! [email protected]

Perhaps you didn't understand what I said.
If you want the podcasts you've already listened to stay on your iPod, then set your syncing preferences for Podcasts in iTunes to Sync All. (Instead of Sync New...as I said before.) If your preferences are not set this way, then once you listen to a podcast, even for a few seconds, when you re-sync, it will drop off your iPod. Set syncing preferences to SYNC ALL. Then it will keep all of your podcasts synced to the iPod, regardless of whether they are old or new, listened to or not. Also...make sure they have a checkmark in the little box next to them in iTunes.
I'm not sure what you mean by there being no way to delete an Audio podcast. In your iTunes, just highlight the podcast you want to delete and hit the delete key on your keyboard.

  • Apple MA444LL - iPod 30 GB Digital Player Manual. Suddenly when listening to audio books it turns off at end of first chapter. Has happened with 2 different books. Have tried resetting, restarting, redownloading. Music not affected..

After playing audible books for 5 years, suddenly my ipod turns off at the same place in each of two books, around end of 1st chapter. I have tried resetting, redownloading the book(s), nothing helps. Also when I try to fast forward over that trouble spot, it won't go beyond it. Music and podcasts play fine.

  • I have a new iPod Nano. I returned the first one because when I listen to audio books in my car it will shut down 4 times and then in will play fine. Now the replacement is doing the same thing.

Is this a common occurrence? It happens in the car; I replaced the audio cable but it hasn't made a difference. Both iPods have come from Target. I was told by an employee to reset the iPod but I haven't done it yet. I have only owned the replacement for a week. I owned the first one for 2 weeks.

I own HDM 2011. But they have products that aren't listed or hard to find too.

  • Save place when listening to audio book with MuVo m

..is there any way to do it, or, as it appears to be, I have to start from the first folder of all the loaded files, each time I turn player on?
Just bought this and I'll have to return it if I can't save my place.
    Any solution?
    thanks
    roben

The player should probably save the location within the file where you stopped it. That has been the case for the Muvo 28 and n200 that I have used. I guess the best thing is to stop the player first before shutting it down, and make sure to change the battery when the battery warning light appears, and not run the player until it stops from being out of power if you don't want to take?the chance of losing your place. Also be sure to turn off the player before changing the battery.
