Directly connecting a camera to take pictures, not simply download...

I am about to embark on a project of taking a slew (thousands) of small product photos. I would like to direct connect a camera to my iBook so I can take pictures and have them transfer directly to the Mac. Eliminating the step of downloading a memory card (or batch downloading from a camera) would save an incredible amount of time.
Is there a way to do this? I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks...

This is called tethered shooting. For this you’ll need a camera that can do it plus the software on your mac. For instance, Aperture and Image Capture can for some cameras. So, the first thing you need to find out is does your camera support this.

Select all the photos that you need to change, then click the "Photos" menu and choose "Adjust Date and Time".
If you add a year, it will adjust all the photos that you selected by adding a year (so if you accidentally select one of the photos that already has "2012", that will change to "2013").

Yes, you can add your own videos to iTunes, then sync them to your nano, subject to supported max resolution limit and file type. The specs for the 7th gen nano says (I don't know which nano model you have), Video Format Support

(earlier nanos have lower max resolution limits)
So, "HD" video is too high resolution, so iTunes will not sync such videos to the iPod (although they play in iTunes). If you are asking how to set up iTunes to sync videos in general (regardless of source), please post back.

My ipad3 w/ camera connection kit will not read my SDHC Class 10 memory card. Should I try directly from the camera or does ipad not support class 10?

Connection kit will read class 6 cards but not class 10???

I use an 8GB SDHC Class 10 card & it works with my iPad 2. Make sure the 30-pin adapter is fully seated into the side of the iPad.
Here's another way. Import the pics to your computer. Then you can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Connect to a Wireless IP camera to take pictures

I recently bought a Foscam FI9821W Wireless IP Camera to work along side my image comparison VI.
Is it possible to connect to this Camera through the VI by changing the "Select Camera" funtion or something close to that?
Any help would be appreciated,

To connect to an IP camera with LabVIEW using NI drivers, you'll need the IMAQdx driver, which comes as part of NI Vision Acquisition Software. This software ships with several LabVIEW examples, which you can work off of to acquire from an IP camera. You can find them by opening LabVIEW and going to Help>> Find Examples...>>Hardware Input and Output>>Vision Acquisition>>NI-IMAQdx. At first, I recommend using a High-Level Snap VI to make sure you can acquire from the camera. You can advance to more complex VIs from there.

My camera will take pictures but won't save them

I try to take a picture or a screen shot on my iPad but they don't save to my photo library. WHY!?

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to automatically update. If you want to access your iPod directly, drag songs onto it, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to manual in the iPod preferences. One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod

Looking for a camera to take pictures of little (fast moving) kids

I am looking for a camera that will take picutres of my little ones (3 and 1). My old point and shoot (Nikon Cool pix I think) camera takes forever to focus and take the picture after I push the button so the kids have already moved by that time. And it also takes forever to 'record the picture' to be able to take another. I was looking at the Canon T3 or T3i. What are the real differences between the two? I used the compare feature on the website but that didn't really help me out.

You are correct to move to a DSLR for faster auto focus, faster response and faster saving images compared to a compact camera.
T3i costs more, has more resolution, and has a flip out screen compared to the T3.
You would be smarter to consider Nikon DSLR's for cross-type focus points for faster auto-focussing. Canon DSLR's do not have focus assist lighting which can have a harder time to autofocus in low light when indoors.

Go the store to try it out the DSLR's. If you want more auto-focussing, consider a good external flash, they have illumination lasers.

My picture not automatically downloaded to my pc

I recently download the icloud 3.0 on my new window 8 pc. happily seeing all picture taken on ipad downloaded onto the pc. in addtion it sync well when I upload new photo on my pc, it magically appear on my ipad. Great I thought. However, after whenever i took picture from the ipad, it doesn't seem able to download to my pc anymore. I tried reintall, it manage to download all including new photos, but it stooped there again. What happen? and how could I solve this problem?

"Take Picture" workflow -- what cameras are supported?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Automator, and trying to build a workflow to send a live picture from a digital camera into a photo program. Apple has the "Take Picture" component, but I can't seem to find a list of cameras that are compatible with it. Does anyone know where I can find it? We have a Sony CyberShot W5, and Automator says "Camera cannot take pictures" when I plug it in.

The other "support" is about iPhoto recognizing and transferring pictures when plugging in the camera directly into your Mac. That shouldn't be an issue with any modern camera. And even if you have a camera that is not supported that way, you can always use a USB memory card reader. Actually, I've been doing that exclusively for years with multiple cameras, as I find that more convenient anyway.

Direct Connection - Not seen in SXI_CACHE

We have created one Direct Connection object in the Integration Directory. (This is for the interface between SAP to SAP System, Proxy --> Proxy).
When I check in SXI_CACHE, this Direct Connection Object is not displayed. (Direct Connection, Assignment, Profile - those objects are not there).
I did complete cache refresh. After this, the SXI_CACHE is green but these objects did not appear.
Our system is PI 7.1 (EHP 1). SP Level is 06.
What would be the problem ?

Try to perform a minor change in the object, like in the Description field, then save it, activate it and perform the cache with:
http://host:j2eeport/CPACache/refresh?mode=full
And also with:
- In Integration Repository/Directory go to menu Environment -> Clear SLD Data Cache
- In R/3 go to transaction SXI_CACHE -> menu XI Runtime Cache -> Start Complete Cache Refresh

Cortana cant take pictures???

I was wondering if anybody else noticed that Cortana doesn't access your camera to take pictures, or do a visual search or even just scan a QR barcode like you could upon pressing the search button before on WP versions prior to Cortana. How do I scan QR codes now? I have to get an app? That's kinda inconvenient seeing as one didn't have to have an app for that before. I think Cortana should be able to at least start camera for you.
