Director Next Survey - More Results

Hi all,
It's been three weeks since I closed the survey. And it's
taken that
amount of time to go through all the data and sort
everything. The most
time consuming part was examples/elaborations people gave on
the
features. Just as well not everyone filled those parts in.
Anyway, all
that information has been collated, nicely organised, and
sent off to
Adobe.
I have not put this info on my site as I'm not sure if people
would be
interested in reading it all. If anyone is interested in this
info, let
me know. I could always email a specific feature document to
you.
I have added a new page to the survey section of my site. It
is:
http://www.deansdirectortutorials.com/survey/DirectorRoadmap/comments.htm
This covers the 300 odd comments I received on the survey.
They range
from positive things on Director, to rants, to thanks. All
are sorted.
Thanks again for all who contributed.

Hi Dean,
I would recommend giving Adobe one more clue:
They should improve Director's sound engine so it would make
it easier
to sheamless loop SWA or MP3 COMPRESSED sounds of background
music type.
Specifically I mean sounds played from file or stream rather
than memory.
Currently it is damn hard to make it working in an elegant
manner.
Normally there is either some nasty pause or in the worst
scenario -
some loud audible tick while looping this sort of sounds. The
moment of
looping is normaly not sheamless with compressed files.
On the other hand - looping background music theme (often of
several
minutes length) is frequently required feature of CD or web
presentations. Customers got bored with simple looped phrases
of just a
few bars. Now they want something "less noticably looping".

  • More results than expected.

    Hi!
With the below shown "SELECT-QUERY"  I get
    more results than expected.
What can the reason be for that ?
I get 72 entries instead of 12 and lines multiple.
When go via se16 and type in the materialnumber
I get shown only 12 entries out of all below
    listed tables.

  • Director Roadmap Survey

    Hi all,
I realise this is the Flash forum not the Director one. I've
    posted this
email to various Director groups and thought I'd post here
    for anyone
that has a connection to Director.
I've set up a comprehensive Director survey looking at how
    Director is
being used and what people expect from the product. It is not
    a wish
list survey but one that looks deeper at features and how
    they translate
into real projects. I have done this by asking users to the
    following:
    (1) rank broad feature categories (3D, text, sound.)
    (2) look at a subset of these broad categories and rank them
    (3) give detailed examples of products that employ these
    features.
This is the most detailed Director survey in history and can
    take 25-45
minutes to complete. The time will depend on how many feature
    categories
you choose to focus on and how many examples you provide. I
    STRONGLY
encourage you download a PDF version of the survey to review
    the
questions and features covered. Once you have put your
    thoughts
together, you can then enter your answers online.
I'm using Survey Monkey to manage and collate the survey.
    Please go to

    Director in

  • Director Next Roadmap Survey

    Hi all,
I've created a new Director survey that attempts to gather
    information
on current user base and their expectations going forward.
    Will say that
it is not a wish list survey but one that looks deeper at
    features and
how they translate into real projects. I have done this by
    asking users
    to the
    following:

    (2) look at a subset of these broad categories and rank them
    (3) give detailed examples of products that employ these
    features.
I have other sections that look at 'How you use Director',
    'Director 11'
and 'About You'. These are short sections to give context to
    your
feature answers. The most detailed section is on the features
    and how
    they will be used.
This is the most detailed Director survey in history. It will

    Helloz SAP Experts,

  • Multiple question survey - more

I asked about this once before, but I don't think I made
    myself clear, so
the responses I got were not relevant, so here goes again...
I have to make a survey, 19 questions, with possible answers
    of Yes, No, and
N/A. I must store the answers in a database, and display the
    results for
    each question:
    Q1 - YesCount, NoCount, N/ACount, TotalResponses, PerCentYes,
    PerCentNo,
    PerCentN/A
    Q2 - YesCount, NoCount, N/ACount, TotalResponses, PerCentYes,
    PerCentNo,
    PerCentN/A
I can pick each value out of the database and perform the
    calculations on
the page, but that would mean 57 recordsets to get all three
    values for each
of 19 questions. Surely there must be a better way, but I
    can't see it.
    Help?

  • How do I exclude directories from Finder search results? I'm trying to find the biggest FILES on my computer and it keeps showing me "Macintosh HD" as the biggest, how can I search for files of type "NOT folder/directory"?

Basically I've lost 10GB of free space over the last few weeks so my plan was to search for files modified in the last 2 weeks in order to figure out which ones are big and where that space went.
So I open finder, go to "File > Find", and enter a search:
Modified > In the last 2 weeks
    All fine so far.
Problem is, it's showing whole directories as results. Which essentially means that when I order the list by size, Macintosh HD is at the top, followed by "Users", then "Applications", then one of my bigger movie files, then "Library", etc.
How can I do a search which will ignore folders? I want individual files. Knowing that Macintosh HD is the biggest item on my computer and was modified in the last 2 weeks is utterly useless to me.
Older versions of Finder in OS 9 had a feature where you could search for "files, whose type "IS NOT" folder", but OS X doesn't seem to have such a feature.
    Can anyone help?

How much free space is on the HD, where has all the space gone?
OmniDiskSweeper is likely the easiest/best, and is now free...

  • Shared Services directories definition, no more CSS.xml

    Hi,
I am currently working with version 11.1.2.1 and I would like to access my MSAD directories definition, but it is not contained in CSS.xml as it used to be in version 9.
I have searched all tables of the Shared Services relational database, and did not find it there either.
Does anyone know where it is stored now ?
    Thanks,
    JM

    Hi John,
I would like to rename the MS Active Directories.
I know that in the relational database, the directories are identified by an internal ID and not by their name, so it should be possible. However, I cannot find where they are defined.
Something interesting is that http://servername:19000/interop/framework/getCSSFileConfig returns a blank page.
I already ran epmsys_registry.bat and used CTRL+F and looked for the current name of the directories and it did not return any result. I also used a SQL procedure to search in the tables and did not find anything either.
    Thanks,
    JM

    thanks,

A key challenge that Adobe is facing with FM and TCS, and that the survey did not really focus on, is platform strategy (other than cloud-based).
FM runs only on MS Windows today. MS has made a possibly fatal mess of Windows (and the x86 PC market) with Window 8. The nearly $1B write-off for Surface slabs, and the sad story on the Surface app catalog, strongly suggests that Windows has zero future on ARM.
For customers who insist on running an app locally, FM/TCS needs another place to run. The obvious candidates are MacOS, where FM used to run, and Linux, where FM briefly ran. Unix, where FM sort of still runs (FM8 is still available for Solaris) is probably out of the picture.
Mac might be the leading choice, as CS runs native there today.
A return to Linux probably would imply that whatever is ported also runs on Android. Adobe has their toes in that water, with Photoshop Express, but I'm not sure that Android is fully featured enough to be used as a desktop content creation platform.
But the real question is: what do the paying customers want?
The survey asked one incomplete question on that.
Whatever the platform, the whole of TCS needs to run on it, plus Photoshop.

  • Have to click Next button on results page twice

    Help!
My first Captivate module is all ready to go, with one small
problem. When users get through a quiz and go to the results page,
they have to click the Next question twice. I'm not sure why this
is, and I can't seem to fix it.
For the rest of the slides, instead of automatic advancement,
users have to click a Next or Back button to go forward or back,
and I have quiz questions where the user can't go back, and no quiz
review, but I don't see how those would impact that one single
button on the results page, which of course I can't edit because it
only appears when a quiz is completed, and not actually during
    design.
I hope this makes sense! Please help. You're my only
    hope.

  • I am logging in - but the Adobe FormsCentral will not open.  It just shows an explanation mark in a circle.  How do I open my surveys and results?

I have several surveys/questionnaires in Adobe FormsCentral and when I log in -- it won't open.  It just gives me an explanation mark in a circle.  Help!  Mary

    Hi maryfulton,
I checked your account, and there are no issues there. If you're still having trouble logging in, please clear the browser cache, and then try logging in directly to https://formscentral.acrobat.com. Any luck?

  • Director Survey - Last Hours

    Hi all,
This will be my last post asking for people to do my survey.
    My survey
will be closed by the end of this weekend. Current numbers
    stand at:
    Total started survey: 377
    Total Completed Survey: 272
I really wanted to get to 400 and maybe 300 completed. So, if
    there is
anyone here that is still on the fence on the survey, please
    fill it in.

    Hi Richard,
I have forwarded the link to Adobe people and the response
    has been positive
in that they do appreciate the data. It will be reviewed and
    discussed on
their end. Someone (who filled in the survey) asked if I
    could let everyone
know what Adobe say after their review of the survey results.
    That side of
things may be confidential. But, anything I can share, I
    will. Now, when you
see Director 11 come out and read all the new features, if
    you see an
overlap with the survey results, I'll take 100% credit for
    that ;)
