Directory button in CCM 4.1

Hello Experts,
When I hit the Directory button on the phone, the only options that I have are Missed Calls, Received Calles and Placed Calls but don't have the option 4 which allows me to search the directory for users. Could you please let me know how can I resolve this issue?

What message do you get on the lower part of the LCD ? Host not found or something like that?
This could be a DNS issue. Are you able to access to the available services using the services button?
If you find that your phones are trying to reach your CCM by name and there is no DNS server to help them, you can go to the Enterprise Parameters on the CCM config and edit all the urls there changing the host name for the actual IP address.

The Error message we are getting is "Errors while reading catalogs,errors while reading master catalog".
When we check the Display logs for the catalog, we are having these two error messages

"Error when creating the catalog. "

The directory /usr/sap/ccms No exist

Hi friends.
This quality system (SQ1) is a backup / restore with ABAP and JAVA instance and is operating its j2ee instance.
I'm looking at the log for an error when you run a Query and publish to the web.

It is strange that there is no directory / usr / sap / ccms that exists in development and production. It should reinstall ccms? or manually created this directory with sub directories and restart the system to try to create log files that the system is trying to create but can not because there is this directory?
Although not get something to help me solve this. What do you recommend?

What is involved in going from local user accounts to active directory accounts with CCM 9.1.2?

We are currently using local user accounts with CUCM 9.1.2 and are looking at integrating it into the active directory structure.
We do utilize the same structure for user ID's.
I am looking to find out what the changeover will entail and if anything else needs to be done prior to the integration.
We also have Unity syncing up with CUCM for users as well as Contact Center sync'ed up for our ACD system.

Hey Mike,
The process is pretty straight forward. CUCM 9.X supports the coexistence of AD integrated users and local users so you don't have to worry about local accounts disappearing if they don't have an AD account. The biggest thing to watch out for is that if you decide to revert back for whatever reason then the accounts that were in AD will be marked for deletion (from the CUCM, not AD) and will be removed after approximately 24 hours.
I recommend the following if you'd like to move to AD.
Run a DRS backup of CUCM. This is not necessary for the integration but is good practice in my opinion. I'd also do a full export of your users using the BAT so you can reimport users to how they were before the integration should you decide to revert for any reason.
Determine if you want to put the user's extensions in the telephonenumber field or ipPhone field in AD. Once you make a decision, I recommend populating that information in AD so it is available when you do the integration.
Make sure your local CUCM user accounts usernames are exactly the same as your domain accounts. That way when you do the integration the local users become AD users and keep all of their phone associations, group memberships, etc. If you need to change the usernames then be sure to notify your users ahead of time so they can start logging into UCCX or UCM user pages, etc. using their new username.
Create an account in AD that has read-only rights to your directory. Set the password to never expire. You will use this account later for the integration.
In CUCM, go into Serviceability and make sure the "Cisco DirSync" service is activated on the Publisher server.
Also in CUCM, navigate to the administration page and do the following:
Go to System > LDAP > LDAP System and Check the box to enable Synchronizing. Confirm the LDAP server type and attribute for User ID is accurate. This is typically Microsoft Active Directory and sAMAccountName respectively.
Go to System > LDAP > LDAP Directory
Click Add New
Give it a name (whatever you want).
Put in the Distinguished Name of the AD integration account you created earlier. For example, if you created an account called ciscoldap in the Service Accounts OU in the abc.com domain then it would look something like this... CN=ciscoldap,OU=Service Accounts,DC=abc,DC=com
Enter the password for the account.
Enter the search base. This can be a specific OU where your users exist, a parent OU which contains other OUs which contain all of your users or the entire domain. If you do the entire domain then in the abc.com example you would specify DC=abc,DC=com.
Select the option to perform a sync with AD on periodic intervals. The lowest interval you can set is every 6 hours.
Select either the telephonenumber or ipPhone field to be used for the user's extensions. This will be whatever you decided and populated in AD in an earlier step.
Add your primary and any backup domain controllers and ports. If they are just domain controllers and you are not using SSL then specify port 389. If they are also global catalog servers then you can do port 3268.
Click Save and Click the "Perform Full Sync Now" button.
I recommend that you also use LDAP for authentication as well so you only have one username and password to remember which is all controlled by AD. To add this do the following:Go to System > LDAP > LDAP Authentication.
Click Add New
Check the box to use LDAP Authentication
Add the same Distinguished name, passwords and user seach base that you used for your integration account earlier under the synchronization section. Also add the same primary and secondary LDAP servers and ports you used earlier.
Click Save
You can go a step further and create a filter to only pull in the users within the search base you specified and apply that. For example, maybe only pull in users that have their ipPhone field populated. Let me know if you have any questions on that or any of the above.

I found some more facts on this.
The CCMUser gets locked and it results to this.When I try to unlock it and restart the publisher then while the Pub is shutted down the phone is working fine but as soon as the Pub is started same issue comes again.
Its related to CCMUser that we got it.
Is there any other way to Unlock the CCMUser so that it doesn't gets locked. When the Pub is started the CCMUser gets locked automatically.

Need to add mobile (cell) phone in corporate directory via LDAP

Can I just start by saying that I am not a developer so expect some dumb questions to follow.
We have cucm 6.1 and am using ldap sync to AD. The problem is that we would like to query the mobile phone field within AD and present it on the phone when the directory button is pressed.
Is this possible ?

I made these changes to all the asp files and referenced them all in a file called test_main.asp. Which is similar to the ASP_main.asp.
I have run the regsvr32 LDAPSearch.dll and have added the following url to the phones directory url field ttp://192.168.9.101/CiscoIPServices/ldap/test_main.asp. Where 192.168.9.101 is my AD and IIS server (demounity.demo).
The phone only display the Missed, received and places calls when I press the directory button. The corporate directory is missing.
Are there any steps that I am missing or am I barking up the wrong tree all together
to achieve what I need to ?
I have also configured the CiscoUrlproxy for what reason I don't really understand.

Since the CCM is a black box now, unless you pull out a HD and mount it on another Linux box where you have full access, or booting from a Linux boot CD there's no way to access the file system.
However, you posted an ASP sample so I'm not sure if a jsp (java server page) would help you a lot - there's also no way of telling how much logic will be in the jsp page and how much logic will be behind in a compiled class - e.g. my own directories only have very basic logic (reading input, writing output, limit the number of results per page) and everything else is done in a bunch of jar files - so using them would only work if you can restrict yourself to doing exactly what my frontend page does.

Directory from third-party LDAP

I know that in CCM 4.x it was possible, so i need to develop application that can search different LDAP (i.e Lotus Notes)
This application should be accesed through Directory button on IP Phone (for example Directory->XXX LDAP). I have Lotus Notes LDAP and i need to search in it for users.
Is it possible ? I know that something like that was working in CCM 4.x Is it possible in CCM 6.1 ?

Custom Corporate Directory Query Based on Department

I need to limit specific queries from Corporate Directory search based on Department. CCM 4.1(3)
My Goal is to create separate directory options, each associated with a specific department (I've done this) and then limit the query to ONLY users in that department (I need help here. :-|
The Flow as Joe sees it ~
User selects directory button.
(Based on info from xmldirectory.asp...)
User is provided with the following menu:
1. Missed Calls
2. Placed Calls
3. Received Calls
4. Department A
5. Department B
6. Department C
(I've got this far by adding new menu items to the xmldirectory.asp file, and then I tie those to separate xmldirectoryinput.asp files, which I plan to use to limit the query based on dept)

Also - Would any changes, additions, etc. be required in the xmldirectorylist.asp file?

Ccm microsoft Ad integration, IP phone asking username password

Hi,
We've CCM 3.5 recently integrated with Microsoft AD. When any change is made in AD, it is reflected on CCM as well. I believe integration is fine.
Now, whenever any IP phone user presses Directory / Services button, it is asking for username password. I am not sure what to punch in to get access. This is started after integration only.
Anyone has any clue what and where to look at?

Have you ever modified any of the web pages on the CallManager server?
[inner_silence] No. All URL's are pointing to CCM IP.
What are the URL's defined for Services and Directory buttons in your Enterprise Parameters...? Have these been changed from the defaults?

When CallManager was using the inbuilt DC Directory.. what was the UserID field? Now that it is integrated to AD, what is it? Is it the same?
[inner_silence] AD server user name/password is in use now. Previously CCM Admin username password was in use.
If it is different, then your phone services for everybody will be out of sync, i.e. you would have to change the UserID in all of these.
Finally, you didnt upgrade CallManager at the same time? :)

Additional info: IP Phone asks for username/password and not username/PIN. Tried combinations of username/password/PIN but no success.

Unexpected performance of Firefox in Windows 7, namely minimize/maximize/close buttons not working and unable to move/resize window.

I have been using FF for a while now. My main computer was WinXP-32, though I recently bought a new laptop with Win7-64 installed. This problem was never experienced on my WinXP machine.
Brief description of problem:
After a time of having FF up and running, the minimize/maximize/restore/close buttons in the top-right no longer work as expected and, if not maximised, I cannot move the window around my desktop nor resize the browser window. When clicked, the buttons will
rapidly flash on and off continuously without appearing to perform any noticeable function other than temporarily hogging CPU cycles. I've found that clicking (sometimes double clicking) in the main browser window then mousing over the buttons again seems
to stop them flashing, though does nothing else.
To minimize/maximize/restore/move/close the window(s), I have to right-click on the relevant tab in my taskbar and pick the desired option. Occasionally, however, even this doesn't work and the right-click menu will disappear as soon as I move the mouse
over it after right-clicking. 'Show desktop' is a temporary fix for minimising windows and 'ALT + F4' or 'CTRL + W' for closing windows or tabs. This isn't satisfactory and to move or resize a window, I have to close the window in question (sometimes all other
windows too), reopen it and do what I need to do, though sometimes even this is only a very short fix. If I have to close all the windows, FF will sometimes keep running for a while afterwards, even though no windows are actually open - simply ending the process
via the windows task manager will fix this though is only a work-around, not a fix.
One thing I have noticed is that if I manage to move the browser window (when not maximised), for a short period afterwards I can often resize the window successfully. This is more likely to occur if the browser window is not flush with the edge of my screen
once moved.
I've tried to include as much information as I can - most of which was determined after several minutes/hours of playing around with different scenarios, trying to manually reproduce particular problems or simply through sheer luck of happening to click
in the right place at the right time! I hope there is a reasonably fix for this at some point in the not-too-distant future.
I noticed in some of the threads at another site where people have voiced problems similar to mine, that a link to 'ObjectDock' was discovered in some cases. I do have 'ObjectDock 1.90 Plus' installed on my machine and use it in many ways and so decided
to see if I could find a connection between the two. I have uninstalled, tested, and reinstalled both programs in a multitude of ways, though could find no conclusive correlation between having both bits of software running or installed at the same time and
the problems I am experiencing. In my case, at least, this does not appear to be an answer.
Also, in another thread on this site, someone suggested there might be a link with AVG Anti-Virus Free (I have version 9.0.819) though I've tried uninstalling it and its various add-ons in several different combinations, with no noticeable improvement.

You can also check if the issue occurs in
Clean Boot. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, you can continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
Besides, uninstall it and re-download
a fresh copy of FireFox to check the result. If the issue still exists, create a new user account to see if it occurs.
If the issue persists, you can contact Mozilla Support directly and use Internet Explorer (IE) during the time.

Accessing a SQL-based Corporate Phone Directory

I would like to be able to access a corporate phone directory that is kept in a SQL database using the Directories/Corporate Directory button. This would be used instead of the CM Directory only for phone number lookups.
Two questions:
1) is this feasible?
2) What is the best way to get started coding this?

I like to use JSP, it's pretty quick as it runs as a servlet after 1st use, so all classes are loaded in memory.

Users cannot connect to Open Directory Leopard server

Just testing Leopard server and running into all sorts of problems...
Clean install of Leopard Server running DNS, AFP and Open Directory.
Set up DNS first and checked both forward and reverse look-up was correct.
Promoted to Open Directory master from Standalone.
Created two test user accounts (without Home directories) and gave them access to a specific sharepoint.
Setup LDAP on the client machine (Leopard client) and could see the user accounts in the Directory app.
Try to log in.....'username or password incorrect'.
Check the OD logs and cannot find any reference to the attempted log-in.
I understand that it appears that user accounts require a Home Directory in Leopard, regardless of whether you actually want one (I don't). I tried creating a home directory using Workgroup Manager but as noted in other threads, the 'create home directory' button doesn't work.
I then created a home directory via the command line for one of the user accounts but am still unable to log-in.
Any ideas?

CCMS registration error

I have made new installation of SAP NetWeaver 7.01 ABAP Trial in a Windows Xp machine. After the installation i could not find the CCMS agent listed in transaction rz21 -> Topology -> Agents for Local System ( also there is no data CCMS Monitor Sets ). So i tried registering the CCMS agent in the local CEN. While registering the CCMS agent in the local CEN using sapccmsr, i am getting the below error :

ERROR: Registration failed: Can't get version of NSP. RfcRc = 2, C_CALL_FAILED

I followed the steps mentioned in below link for registering the CCMS agent :

Any ideas why this error occurs and how to fix it ?

When i use the SAPCCMSR -DCCMS pf=C:\SAP\NSP\SYS\profile\NSP_DVEBMGS00_WIN-XP it registers without any error. I get print in the command prompt saying
INFO: Reconnected to Monitoring Segment [SAP_CCMS_app-xp1],...
However i am still unable to view the CCMS agent or get any data in CCMS monitor sets.
I deleted the parameters alert/MONI_SEGM_SIZE and rdisp/autoabaptime from the profile. Then tried registering using the option sapccmsr -r and i get the below error at the end of registering the agent :

Now when i registered the CCMS using the SAPCCMSR -DCCMS pf=C:\SAP\NSP\SYS\profile\NSP_DVEBMGS00_WIN-XP, it registers with the below messages:
