Directory Caching issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows

Hi ,
I am facing cache issue with Cisco Jabber client for Windows. If I do any change related to modification or deletion of contacts in Active Directory/ Callmanager, it does not reflect in the Jabber. Because jabber takes the contacts from the locally stored cache file in the Windows system.
Every time I have to remove the cache file to overcome this issue, practically it's not possible to do the same with all the Widows users. As, if any employee leaves the company and still I can see his contact appears in the "Cisco Jabber client". I have not seen this issue with Android/Apple iOS.
Is there any automated way to remove the cache file? 
Here is the detail of CUCM,Presence and Jabber.
CUCM version: 9.1.x
Presence          : 9.1.X
Jabber              : 10.5 and 10.6

On our environment we had to install a dedicated Microsoft Certificate Authority "just for Cisco Jabber usage" to house the
Network Device Enrollment Service.
Our certificate for the CUPS were generated on this Certification Authority too.
I discussed this certificate matter with my colleagues this afternoon and nobody seems to remember how these certificates were deployed into the
Enterprise Trust store for the users.
But I think they asked all 400 users to accept the 3 certificates by answering "yes" to the popup instead of using a script deployed by GPO...
I wish you success with that deployment and really hope you have a technical partner that *Knows* this subject.
Our partner left us alone with that unfortunately.

    Thanks for your quick reply.
    Unfortunately, I do not have access to the ASA logs nor would I be permitted to turn on the debug settings asked for above.  I might be able to get the logs but it will take awhile and I suspect they wouldn't be helpful as this ASA supports thousands of clients, therefore, separating out my connection attempts from other clients would be difficult.
    I can, though, do whatever you want on the Linux router.  Looking over the firewall logs at the time of this problem, I don't see anything that looks suspicious such as dropped packets destined for the Windows client.
    As I said in my original post, I'm not a networking expert - by any means - but I am willing to try anything to resolve this.  (But I might need a bit of handholding if I need to set up a  wireshark andor tcpdump.)

  • Jabber Client for Windows video not working with ManyCam

    Hi everyone.  We've been kicking around the Cisco Jabber client and I've noticed a small issue when it comes to video.  I use a software package called ManyCam (http://www.manycam.com/) which creates a web cam that allows me to put effects on my actual web cam's video feeds.  Primarily I use it when I'm in a remote office and have a video stream back to the main office I can put effects on the screen like "On a conference call" and such so people won't get upset when they approach me and I fail to respond to them.  I use it with other applications just fine but with Cisco Jabber (v9.2.0 Build 496) when I attempt to set it the ManyCam camera as the video source in the video configuration of Cisco Jabber the preview doesn't appear.  As well when I connect to another Cisco Jabber user they do not see my video stream.
    Anyone else notice this?  Or does anyone else have a link to some similar software that will give me equivalent functionality to ManyCam that works with Cisco Jabber?

    The larger body of use case and development for Jabber has centered on Windows and mobile iOS and Android devices. That's not to say that there isn't a contingency of customers that want a Linux client but, as of today, there is no "Jabber" client for that platform. However, I've heard this question asked in a few different forums and the answer thus far has typically been one or both of the following:
    1) There is a Jabber SDK, which could potentially be used to custom develop an application.
    2) Use 3rd-party XMPP client (e.g. Pidgin)
    As for an official answer on "will there be in the future" with a yes/no/maybe and/or a possible timeframe, you would need to reach out to Cisco or your trusted partner as roadmap items cannot be discussed without having a non-disclosure agreement in place. That's what Jamie is getting at in his response.

    Does Jabber client support this? We do not currently have Juniper, but are considering moving to it. We are running Jabber Client 9.0.2.

    It is on premise deployment  . iphone uses the same dns as jabber for windows. As mentioned jabber for windows service discovery is working . I am using these on dns srv and A records

    One of my customer want to install jabber in windows mobile. I informed him there is no client released for windows mobile yet. 
    But he wants any document from cisco site that there is no release available for win mobile. I tried searching same but could not get any.
    Can someone pls provide me some cisco doc on this.

  • Is there a jabber client for windows users that's working?

    hello all,
    i've just deployed os x server 10.5 (standard configuration, upgraded to 10.5.3) and i have some users that are using ms windows. i can't seem to get google talk or any other windows jabber clients to successfully connect to the ichat server. i've tried to use the same server settings that i'm using when i create a new jabber account in ichat with google talk and a few others with no success. am i missing something? does anyone know of a windows jabber client that is currently working? if so, can you also share with me your findings (the settings or best practices for setting up this windows jabber client). the os x server ichat docs state several times that google talk should work. but after some research here, it looks as if it doesn't current work. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    I think Pidgin is the solution for you. It's quite easy to configure and seems quite reliable! It works well for me. I have use a portable version of it to connect from Windows XP/2000 to a 10.5.3 Server.

  • Issue with Blue tooth driver for Windows 10

    The blue tooth device does not work on Win 10. 1.  The laptop can pair with my Android phone... but I cannot upload photos from the Android phone 2.  The message on my phone says connection failed. 3.  Tested that Laptop  (Prod #: E0M31UA#ABL) can send file to the phone though. 4.  See below screen shot for driver details    to the laptop.

I have looked into the issue you are having with Bluetooth and came across some documents that may help you resolve the Bluetooth issue.  The first document I found is called Using Bluetooth Devices. This document may be helpful because it walks you through connecting devices. The second document I found is called Understanding and troubleshooting Bluetooth wireless technology. This document has other helpful information about drivers, making sure everything is bluetooth enabled, fixing bluetooth problems, etc. Have you tried to update the driver that is currently installed? Have you tried doing the updates in Safe Mode?Have you tried in the Device Manager to uninstall the driver that is currently installed? You could try to uninstall the driver you currently have, restart the Notebook and then reinstall the newer driver either from the HP ENVY 15-j084ca Notebook PC Driver's Page (although there is not a driver specified in the Windows 10 column, there is a Windows 8.1 Version of the Driver put out on July 31st, that should work) or you could use the HP Support Assistant. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it.   • Having an issue with creating a partition for Windows 8?

    Hey, all. I'm trying to make a partition for Windows 8, but now it's stuck on the "shrinking the disc" phase of the partition. It's been over two, and it's only about 25% through. It's been there for a good hour and a half. Should I let it sit through the night, or do a full reboot?

    Likely you have already figured it out by now and this is just a guess.
    I suspect that if the flash skin is linking to it's embedded assets (not embedded) or is using css (same difference) then the flash player is not able to access the assets from the context of the page in which it is being included.  Check for problems with the way that the paths were defined to those assets.

  • Issues with playback on Quicktime for Windows

    Hi All,
    I created a little slide show within iPhoto containing 290 pictures and lasting about 30 minutes. I exported it to a .mov file which was added as a video clip within FCE. Next, in FCE, I added background music, some video transitions and exported the completed project using H.264 codec. The .mov file plays fine on the Mac within the Quicktime Player. But not so hot on a Windows XP Pro laptop. In the final 90 seconds of the 30 minute movie, the screen goes green and the audio is replaced with static.
    I have all of the updates for my workstation and the tools that I am using, (FCE, iPhoto). I have tried different versions of Quicktime for Windows, re-exported the movie from FCE and tried playback on different XP systems all with the same result.
    Again, the first 28:30 of the movie plays perfect and looks great, but that last 90 seconds goes nuts.
    Unfortunately, the presentation of this video requires that I play it back on the PC laptop.

    Assuming you mean Jabber Voice 9.1(5) for Android.
    Your phone is not listed as supported handset; the fragmenetation of the Android platform tends to lead to unreliable behavior on most handsets. The release notes stipulate what is supported.
    What do the logs from the client or a packet capture from the CUCM server show when the client is attempting to reconnect?

  • With Cisco Secure ACS For Windows TACACS+, authentication fails with AD

      I am setting up a Cisco Secure ACS 4.2 server to act as a TACACS server for Switches and Routers  I am using Windows 2003 server for the ACS,
    and a Windows 2003 Active Directory server.  The AD server is fine, as it is used for many other things.
    I have set up ACS as defined nit he installation guide, including all the steps in the 'Member Server' section of the install guide
    when using AD as an external database (i.e. setting up the services to run with a domain admin account, setting up a machine called 'CISCO'
    on the domain etc).
    I've set the unknown user policy to use the Windows database if the internal database doesn;t contain the user details.
    If I add a user to the internal database, the authentication goes through fine, with an entry in the 'Passed Authentications' log,
    02/24/2010,05:07:03,Authen failed,eXXXX,Network Administrators(NDG) ,X.X.X.X,(Default),Internal error,,(geting error message as INternal Error)
    I've scoured google etc, and just cannot come up with any reason why this should be happening.
      I've followed all the install guides to the letter.  I need to get this up and running as soon as possible,
    so am looking forward to finding out if anyone can help me with this one!

    My previous version was 4.2 and it was installed on 64 bit machine hence getting internal Error.
    After this answer i have upgraded it to ACS4.2.1 and its started working fine

  • Jabber Client for Windows. Desk phone control trouble.

    I have CUCM - version 9.1.1.20000-5, JFW version 9.2.3 build 4417 and Microsoft AD server.
    I have configured:
    1. LDAP directory in CUCM using SSL connection
    2. LDAP authentication in CUCM using SSL connection (port 636) too.
    All other configurations, needed for allowing CTI control from JFW to desk phone, are made.
    So, the problem is: CTI control in JFW is not available in this case. But, if I change in CUCM LDAP authentication from SSL to non-SSL - all work fine. JFW establishs CTI connection and successfully controls my desk phone, when LDAP authentication does is non-SSL.
    Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

    Hello, usually this is fixed by changing to global catalog for authentication (3269) since I would suppose that the issue you're experiencing is an LDAP timeout.
