Directory (original) got created and I now want that information in the original desktop file - how do I do this?
Bad migration up from Snow on a MacPro to Maverick on a Mini so am trying to revert back to Snow on my MacBook Pro. Along the way, Maverick created a second file called Desktop (original) which I'm stuck with back in Snow on the MacBook Pro. The regular Desktop file is emply and I'd Like to repopulate it with the contents from the Desktop (original) file, then discard that file.
Also, when I got done with the mess, I've been shorted in the MacBook Pro Snow my email files for the years 2011-2014. I can locate them in Maverick but getting them out has been been tough. HOWEVER, I still have those same files on my older MacPro Snow comupter and need to know the best way to transfer them from the Old Snow Pro computer to my newer Snow BookPro computer. Hookups and additional hard disks to assist aren't a problem it's just the formatting that has to be done to keep all smooth. In other words, I think I have the hardware covered, it's just the software movements I'm concerned about. Thanks. Baronial
You can reset the action Firefox is set to use for certain file types - we have 2 KB articles explaining how to reset these settings:

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.

Transferring a recording to a computer

Voice memos are saved in a Recordings folder on iPod in the WAV file format. If you enable iPod for disk use, you can drag voice memos from the folder to copy them.
Synchronize
If iPod is set to update songs automatically and you record voice memos, the voice memos are automatically downloaded to a playlist in iTunes when you connect iPod. Once downloaded, the voice memos are removed from the Voice Memos folder on your iPod. To play the voice memos that have been synchronized to your computer in iTunes, select the Voice Memos playlist on the left side of the iTunes window. To play the synchronized voice memos on the iPod, select the Voice Memos playlist in the Music menu, not the Voice Memos menu in the Extras menu.

Unfortunately, adobe doesn't have photoshop elements 6 available for download, as far as i know, so your best bet is to either get an usb dvd drive or use an computer with a dvd drive and copy the contents of the pse 6 dvd to somethiing like
a flash drive and then copy the contents from that drive to your new computer.
Do you still have your older mac and it has a dvd drive?
You can share files between the two using airdrop or an ethernet cable.

It sounds like you are getting prompted to back up your device but you are unable to join your updated Wi-Fi setup. I recommend the troubleshooting from this article named:

I have a Mac and can no longer minimize the firefox window by double clicking the title bar into my dock since I updated to Firefox's latest version. How do I get this feature back?
I've always been able to minimize all my windows by double clicking the title bar. Yes, I could click the yellow button -- I just want the old feature back because I do it so automatically. Now when I double click the title bar it opens a new tab. I was able to do this with all the previous versions of Firefox as well.

I have an eMac with a second display. I am running OS X 10.4.11 (Tiger) and Firefox 3.6.16. Everything was working fine until the other day I opened a second window in Firefox and dragged it to my secnd monitor. I later closed it. Since then all New Window requests, including when starting Firefox always open on the second monitor. How do I tell Firefox I want my main monitor has the primary monitor?
It has nothing to do with the Mac, but more with the software exporting the displays on the PC. A typical VNC server will generally only export the primary monitor.
What PC software are you using to export the display(s), and what Mac software are you using to view the PC displays? That may help someone come up with a workable solution for you (or not ). -

iCloud doesn't sync books so you wouldn't find them in your iCloud account.
