Directory Problems - Uploading to Pair Networks
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - I couldn't find any reference.
I'm uploading my site to Pair Networks, which requires all website files be uploaded to a folder called "public_html". Using my FTP program, I can see that there is a shortcut to this within my user folder. Problem is, I can't work out how to tell iWeb to upload to that folder. If I put public_html into the "directory path" box, iWeb tells me that the directory/path couldn't be found.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that it's a shortcut, but I've no idea how to fix it. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance!
Hello, I work for pair Networks and can answer your question.
I just tried it out now with my own copy of iWeb, and here's what you need to do. Go to our Account Control Center and create an additional FTP user, setting its default directory to your web directory for the domain you are publishing. You'll have to wait 15 minutes or so for it to become active.
Now, add that username and password to the publishing settings in iWeb, and just put a single / as the directory path. You should now be able to publish.

Directory problem for iTunes library in Windows
The default setting (the preferances area in the menu section "general section") will not change from the C drive to my external E drive. Everytime I change the setting and exit itunes it will say "saving itunes library". After that, I will reopen itunes to check if the change to the default setting has been saved, which it has not. I recently installed Windows Vista Service Pack 1 on to my laptop. After the install I can't open itunes. Now, I uninstalled service pack 1 and uninstalled Quicktime and iTunes. Now, after downloading the newest version of iTunes...it seems I have a directory problem.
The error msg reads: An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\QuickTime 7.50.61.0
It was also saying the same thing about iTunes directory. I talked to people from apple and microsoft...nobody has an answer. I need help!

I have a problem uploading a new recording promt
THe elements are
UC520
CCA 1.9
300M available in flash
Windows 7
The wav file is about 20 sec and 170K
The link is excelent (remote configruation with a great BW)
I am configuring the AA from the CCA remotely, it permits recording and saving the file . wav, but when I click "Appy", it shows a message error telling me that there is a FTP server error, (image attached), bur there is no other TFP server up in the laptop
I have tried:
Rebboting the laptop in Windows 7, and having just the CCA open
Reloading the router
Reloading the software
In a laptop with Windows Vista
Upgrading CCA version to 2.1
Changing the selection in AA from the day and night schedule (complex) to the one schedule (simple)
I have checked "windows services started" in botht laptops
Upload the wav file to the router, but I couldn't find the other wav files for the AA, this is my dir

I'm going to agree with the previous poster. The web gui has always worked for me. Anyhow you should upgrade to the latest CCA version since this is a bug related to CCA bug which I reported in october which makes it impossible to upload prompts using CCA (

Also there might be a problem when using Windows 7/Vista. I've encountered a couple of interesting malfunctions when using these OS's with CCA. So I'm stuck with XP on my CCA/UC computer.

Problem Uploading and Sharing Video Files
I just uploaded a 3.3GB h.264 Quicktime movie to Creative Cloud. It took many hours. Now that it's finished uploading, I can't figure out how to play the video while logged into Creative Cloud, despite that fact that under information it's recognized as a mov and 3.3GB. And when I try to share using the link-in-email option, my friend can't play the movie or download it. When he tries to download it, nothing connects. Creative Cloud seems to be treating this movie as a single still image or something. Suggestions as to how to solve these upload and share video problems? I have a 2011 MacBook Pro with all possible upgrades, Mac OS X Version 10.6.8. Any help here much appreciated. One of the reasons I signed on for a year with Creative Cloud was to utilize this 20GB to share video in the way I've done through Dropbox.

I've uploaded this h.264 Quicktime (which plays fine before uploading) a few times now and cannot download or share due to a very long period of "Connecting...", then the message "Problem loading page. The connection was reset. The conection to the server was reset while the page was loading. - The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. - If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. - If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web." Then I'm given the option to "try again". This or a similar message is what others get when trying to download when I try to share the file with them using the link-in-email method, and neither I nor any of those I try to share this with are having problems with internet connectiions or downloading other large video files from the internet. The reason I suspect that Creative Cloud can't deal with downloading larger files such as this 3.3GB Quicktime is that I have no problem uploading, downloading or sharing small Quicktime movies through CC, and they are identified the same way and look the same when uploaded to CC. I also have no problem downloading much larger video files from other sites on the internet, such as feature length films that are a lot larger than 3.3GB. It seems like only things that download quickly don't time-out, regardless of what browser I'm using. Does Creative Cloud's download system rely on files being able to be downloaded quickly in full before a browser's time-out? As I've mentioned before, I have no problem uploading, downloading, sharing, etc. using Dropbox. Long explanation here, I know, but I thought all this info might help in figuring things out. Any ideas as to what's going on?

Active Directory, 1 mac on the network, and how my hair turned grey early!
Okay...here's the deal... I am using an iMac intel 2 ghz on a windows network. Active Directory/Exchange, the whole gammut. Wanted to connect the Tiger side to the networked mapped drives... I've tried configuring Directory Access and I have binded myself to the network. Problem is..the network drives and the network printers are not working. I've also tried the Go>Connect to Server route in the finder. Is it a problem with the SMB set up? What other details do you need for me to be able to resolve this. Thanks
Sorry for being so vague. We have about 6 mapped drives here in the office. I don't even SEE them... When I click "servers" in the finder...I see all the computers on the network...but it says the alias' aren't correct. I actually have admin rights to the full network, and can even see the network printers...but when trying to print to one, I get: Unable to connect to SAMBA host, will retry in 60 seconds...DEBUG: cgpdftops - using PPD file"/ Then "Connection failed with error NTSTATUS (Couldn't catch the rest of the error...sorry)

Hi,
When the page is submitted for approval by using SharePoint OOTB Page Approval Workflow, it takes quite long time and prompt error message as below.
"The form cannot be submitted to the Web server either because your computer is offline or because the host server is currently unavailable.
If this problem persists, contact your network administrator."
It only happens in Internet Explorer version 8 and 9. IE version below 8 is not used in environment.
But it is working in Firefox.
Please help me on how to fix this issue.

When I enter my password to start my atv it tells me, that "there was a problem connecting to the network." My Ipad works fine in my house, but not my new atv. I have reset my password multiple times with no help. I have also rebooted my wireless server. Do I take it back?

I'm having problems uploading video taken with my iPhone 4 to Photobucket. FB will not accept the file extension which is ex. IMG_423. They will play on my computer and will upload to Facebook. Why is the phone taking video with this file instead of something like .mov or mp4. How can I change the extension after the fact and avoid it in the future?
You said, "the 4 also has signal and wifi whereas the 5 has only wifi". By "signal", I'm assuing that you mean cellular signal. If so, that means your iPhone 4 is still active on your cellular number and your iPhone 5 is not. Contact your carrier to sort out which phone is active on your account.

Problems uploading webpage to website
Once i have uploaded the page to the website, page is on the server, but can't be viewed on the website.
I have used the default flash gallery of LR, with minor layout adjustments.
Webprovider says the upload should be done in the www folder in which I can create any subfolder I want. Once the upload is finished, page can't be displayed and I got an error message, saying the server didn't understand the request ...
Could you please help? It's the first time I try to upload a page to a website. ThanksThe upload has to go into the home folder of your webspace. And there should be a file called index.htm or .html. If you've created a subfolder in your home directory and uploaded your files there, when you type in the web address in a browser you'll have to type www.mywebsite.com/subfolder.

I have been having problems uploading photos from the gallery to facebook. I can upload them fine on twitter but not facebook any ideas... I have tried to reboot, turning off phone and removing battery, still won't upload to facebook.
Try to delete the Facebook application on your device then re-download the application. Once you've downloaded the application, then try to upload your pictures again.
