Directory structure contained in bookmarks

To whom it may concern,
Is it possible to preserve/show the directory structure of series of PDF files that are combined using Acrobat Professional? I have various PDF files sorted with a specific directory structure. I would like the combined PDF file to automatically reflect the directory structure in its bookmarks. Is this at all possible?
Regards,
Marcu

in the bookmarks you can create several main headings and then nest child headings for each main heading. that way you can simulate the directory structure. there is no limit to the numbers of levels you can use but for a funtional perspective, you probably shouldn´t use more than 3 levels. More than 3 levels makes your list confusing (more levels more screen space wich decreases the size of the document pane)

  • Directory Structure Changes in iPhoto

    Hi,
I have noticed that since iPhoto 09, directories have stopped being created for each event. Instead some random initial directory is created (sometimes just a date) and the event names are obviously then just being kept in a database. Now I already know that the iPhoto directory structure contains "no user serviceable parts" etc.. but i do like to backup my photos to a remote file server (yeah i use timecapsule too, but this is for offsite backups) and would prefer that the directory structure is somewhat sensible *just in case* (horror) i lost my iPhoto database.
With iPhoto 09 i'm going to left with a bunch of random directories and file names.
Any way to have this behave as it used to in iPhoto 08?
    Thanks

    No
You can backup by dragging the iPhoto library to the external drive or using a clone or backup program (I use Carbon Copy Cloner - http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html
If you are "backing up" by copying parts of the iPhoto library you are not getting a backup of the library - you need to copy the entire library as a single entity or clone it or use an incremental backup program that works with iPhoto

  • JSF appln directory structure..

    Hi,
Iam new to JSF. Iam using JSF with tiles..What is the exact directory structure of a JSF application containing multiple modules?
For example, if iam having three modules mod1, mod2, mod3, then where to keep all the files related to them? where to keep the images?
where to keep the tiles? where to place the jsf files?where to place java files? Is one faces-config.xml enough? can we keep more than one faces-config.xml files(ie one f-c.xml for one module)? please some body draw the directory structure containing the modules, tiles, jsf files.. or provide link containing the dir structure in detail for an application containing several modules...
    Thanks..

After further reading, I must say I'm more confused than ever before.
I've been looking into the examples provided with Sun's Java EE tutorial and what bothers me is that the only mention of EJB in xmls was in the application.xml where EJB's JAR (along with web app's WAR) was listed as a module:
    <module>
      <web>
      <web-uri>dukesbank-war.war</web-uri>
      <context-root>/bank</context-root>
      </web>
    </module>
    <module>
      <ejb>dukesbank-ejb.jar</ejb>
    </module>,
but what if the web app was not deployed within the same EAR, instead calling the already-deployed EJB? It would have to have a reference to it in it's web.xml, wouldn't it? But, for some reason, I could find no example for this. The only mention of EJBs within web.xml was with <ejb-ref> which seems to be meant for EJB 2 as it requires references to EJB's home and remote interfaces... So, my question would be, what element do I need to add to web.xml to be able to inject an EJB 3 through @EJB annotations, if that particular EJB has already been deployed? Do I need to add anything at all, or is the annotation itself enough (i.e. it stands as a replacement for <ejb-ref>)? Is this app server dependent?
Also, I keep seeing that EJB injection into JSF managed beans is not supported on JBoss, but then again, I keep seeing the opposite... I really need some guidance on this...

If you copy the recordings from AVCHD cameras, you must copy the entire storage device with its directory structure intact.
I have even tried copying BACK files onto the camera and they do not show up in the transfer window under the last clip.
There is no information for those clips in the AVCHD storage device's directory index files. That means there is no way for the computer to find them.
Your last resort is most likely [ClipWrap|http://www.divergentmedia.com/clipwrap] now, unless you can get the storage device exactly back into the state it is supposed to be according to the index file.

  • Help! "Contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure"

I have FCP 7 and I'm trying to Log and Transfer HD video recorded on a Canon 5D. I keep getting "contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure."
    Any idea's?

Okay... I'm still getting the same message.
    This is what I'm seeing...

  • "AVCHD" contains unsupported media or had an invalid directory structure

"AVCHD" contains unsupported media or had an invalid directory structure
I brought this error message upon myself... and am looking for a way to recover the files and access them in Final Cut Express. I have successfully processed video in the past.... so it's operator error.
How did I mess it up? By treating my video files the same way as I treat my jpg files.... Creating a new folder for each day's shooting, and simply moving the files into the folder.
I preserved the CLIPINF and STREAM files.. but discard the the rest of the files.
I tried recreating the file structure but that hasn't seemed to work. I'll buy a new card, reformat it, and use that as a template for file structure, but that will take a few days.
So .. I have put the files into the following file structure, but that doesn't seem to work because I have tossed the other supporting files when I "cleaned up" my 8GB Flash Card.
    AVCHD
    BDMV
    CLIPINF
    00051.CPI
    00052.CPI
    00060.CPI
    STREAM
    00051.MTS
    00052.MTS
    00060.MTS
Have tried to recreate the file structure, but of course the contents of other files are incorrect
    AVCHD
    BDMV
    CLIPINF
    INDEX.BDM
    MOVIEOBJ.BDM
    PLAYLIST
    STREAN
    AVF_INFO
    AVIN0001.BNP
    AVIN0001.INP
    AVIN0001.INT
    So... my questions are simple:
1: Can I recreate the data and reindex the files from the STREAM and CLIPINF files?
2: If I can, how do I do it?
3: If I completely destroyed the integrity of my video... let me know that too.. I'll have lost 9 months of work... but it will keep me from screwing up the video on my next trip!
    Thanks

This may or may not apply, but I recently had this problem as well and found a solution that fixed the camcorder back to its original settings, though it only works if 1) the camera worked with Log and Transfer at some point and 2) you are paranoid like me and saved your raw mts files.
Though I had been using the camera for about a month using Log & Transfer perfectly well I used the Finder to delete all the files, which I thought would be faster than using Delete All in the camcorder. When I turned the recording on the camera said it needed to reformat its Image Database, so I punched Yes. Then after I recorded the L&T window said invalid directory structure.
What I eventually did was drag the entire contents of the hard disk off into their own folder (with the date and the camera name) and then pulled an old copy I'd made of working movie files back onto the hard drive. Then I used the camcorder's Delete All function, and then dragged all the contents of the folders with my new footage into the corresponding folders of the camera's hard disk. I was once again able to use the L&T function (even with the old semi-corrupt data), and also any new footage I record is A-OK, even after the camera has asked me if it can (once again) reprogram the Image Database.
I can't explain it, but possibly there are hidden files connected to the files we can see (possibly viewable in the Terminal if you speak Linux) and when the camera comes from the factory they make it good and when the camera tries to do it on its own it doesn't work so well. In short, maybe the camera is a little unstable.

  • Creating a Standby Database with the Same Directory Structure

    Hello gurus,
I am self-learning the feature Oracle Data Guard, so I am testing it on Oracle 10g R2.
At Oracle documentation there is a section F.4.: Creating a Standby Database with the Same Directory Structure*, that explains how to create a standby database with RMAN but there is something that I don´t understand:
In the standby server, I created a database with the SID equal to production database* with the objetive to have the same directory structure, but when I try to startup nomount the standby database with pfile appear this expected error:
ORA-16187: LOG_ARCHIVE_CONFIG contains duplicate, conflicting or invalid attributes
So my question is: Is possible have the Same Directory Structure on both: Production and StandBy server?
    Thanks in advanced.

Uwe and mseberg: thanks for your quick answers
I have a doubt: How can you have the same directory structure if you have differents SIDs?, for example if you follow the OFA suggestions you would must have:
    On Production server: */u01/app/oracle/oradata/PRIMARY/system.dbf*
    On StandBy server: */u01/app/oracle/oradata/STANDBY/system.dbf*
Or you created the directory structure manually on StandBy server? For example replacing the string STANDBY* to PRIMARY* before create the database using dbca.
Do you understand my doubt? Excuse me for my english.
    Thanks.

  • Directory Structure

I just created a network installer for Q4 Release.  We have Developers, Full, and Debug licenses.  The DVDs were copied to the VLM computer's harddrive.  When I created the Debug configuration, the Network Installer reported the the DVDs did not have to be modified and would copy them directly.  When the network installed was done, it did not create the directory structure similiar to what the help file below shows.
    LabVIEW 8.0
    \_SourceFiles
    \Fourth Floor Engineering
    \Client
    vlmclient.exe
    other files
    setup.exe
    \Applications Group
    \Client
    vlmclient.exe
    other files
    setup.exe
Figure 1. Network Installer Directory Structure
    I would have expected
    LabView 8.6
        \Source Files
        \Debug
            \Client
               vlmclient.exe
             setup.exe
Only the \DISK1, \DISK2, \DISK3, \DISK4 were created.  The vlmclient.exe was not created.
    Paul
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

When you were creating the VLI, did you get a popup message that said the source did not need modification? If you saw that popup, that means VLM was not pointed to a valid source file location, which will cause a direct copy of the files with no additions.
If you select a valid source location, you should not see that message and the Product Name field should automatically populate. If you are using the Dev Suite or Platform DVDs, you will need to follow the steps in the KnowledgeBase article I refered to in my previous post.
Here is an example of what copying the installer directory could look like if you just copy the LabVIEW 8.6 Platform DVD 1:
    LabVIEW 8.6 Platform DVD 1\_SourceFiles
\(the _SourceFiles directory will contain a copy of DVD 1)
                                                    \LV PDS (License Set name)
                                                            \setup.exe
                                                            \Client
\vlmclient.exe (as well as some other vlm files)
On the client machine, you would want to run "setup.exe" to begin the installation.

  • Directory structure after upgrade to iPhoto 6

After upgrading to iPhoto 6, it appears that my photos were copied from the old, date-based structure into a new directory structure, but the old structure was left behind.
What is the layout of the new structure, and can the remaining old structure be discarded at this point?
Thanks for any insight you might be able to offer...

The new structure organizes photos into Originals and Modified folders. There is a third folder called Data that contains thumbnails created for the photos (smaller pictures used for better performance). These three are essential for iPhoto 6 to work.
Each folder contains a folder for each year (a year folder is created if you have even one photo from that year, e.g. a photo from 4/3/2004 will create a folder called "2004" and any other photos from that year will then be placed within it.
Every import creates a serially numbered Roll folder within the year folder. So if you import photos including IMG_234.jpg from 4/3/2004, for example, the location of IMG_234.jpg will be:
    iPhoto Library/Originals/2004/Roll 1/IMG_234.jpg
And Roll 1 will have other photos imported in the same session. If you modify the photo within iPhoto (enhance, retouch, etc), the modified copy will exist in:
    iPhoto Library/Modified/2004/Roll 1/IMG_234.jpg
The Data folder will contain a thumbnail for the image in the same path as the Originals:
    iPhoto Library/Data/2004/Roll 1/IMG_234.jpg
So inside the iPhoto Library folder, you will see some files and those three folders with their sub-structure folders. Other things within the top level of the iPhoto Library folder, are leftovers from the previous structure - such as a folder called "2004" or "2005" that ISN'T inside Originals, Data, or Modified folders.
PhillyPhan's advice is sage. Don't mess with the insides of the iPhoto Library. However, I did verify on my own system after I upgraded, that year folders at the top level of the iPhoto Library are from previous versions of iPhoto. So you could move those, and those only, to a separate folder on your HD. I moved those off to a DVD-ROM and haven't seen problems since.
Remember: Don't touch any files, and don't touch anything within Data, Originals, and Modified folders.

  • Directory structure mirroring

I have my mp3:s neatly organized in a directory structure on
my disk. There's where I'd like to add and remove albums,
and would like the itunes music library to automatically
    update when I make changes.
I.e. if I add albums on my disk, I'd like them to appear in itunes (and on the ipod when syncing).
And if I remove albums from my disk I'd like them to
automatically disappear form itunes and the ipod.
Can I make Itunes work like this? I dont like to make all
changes twice, i.e. deleting both from the disk and then in
itunes. This gets especially irritating when moving many
    albums.
    Ideas? Cheers / Tom

You need to create a form and assign it to the reconciliation process. In the form, you need waveset.organization set to where you want the user objects placed. By default, waveset.organization is set to just "Top". You can get the DN, parse it into a list and write the xml code to use the list to place each in a different virtual organization.
Start off simple, say create a container called Top:newusers. Take a copy of Empty Form and save it as orgEmpty Form or something. Define a field waveset.organization and just set its value to "Top:newusers". Then in the resource, set the reconciliation form to your new form.
Try this, once you see new ids show up in Top:newusers, you then can enhance the logic to be more sophisticated in placing objects. That is, parse the DN into a list and walk the list for a IDM waveset.organization value.
BTW, a good question to ask prospective IDM so called experts. Of 8 or so, I only met one that new how to do this efficiently.

  • Directory structure for the new Data Services Project

    1) I do as prescribed in the manual "Building and deploying
    Flex 2 Applications", page 325
"To create a web application make a copy of the /flex
directory and its contents. Rename the copy and store it in the
    same location under /servers/default directory."
("flex" is an empty Flex Data Services application that
serves as a template for creating your custom application)
    2) I create a corresponding project from Flex Builder 2 :
    Project type: Flex Data Services
    Root folder: C:\fds2\jrun4\servers\default\MyDS
    Root URL:
    http://localhost:8700/default/MyDS
    Project name: MyDS
    Project contents: C:\fds2\jrun4\servers\default\MyDS
    2) I build the project
Immediately after "build project" the directory structure at
    C:\fds2\jrun4\servers\default\MyDS becomes the following:
    .settings
    bin
    ----------------META-INF
    ----------------WEB-INF
    ---------------- --------------- classes
    ---------------- ---------------flex
    --------------------------------jsp
    --------------------------------lib
    -------------------------------sessions
    html-template
    META-INF
    WEB-INF
    ----------------classes
    ----------------flex
    ----------------jsp
    ----------------lib
    ----------------sessions
Notice that bin directory now contains another pair of
META-INF and WEB-INF in addition to those already existing in the
    template project "flex".
Can anybody comment on this directory structure?
Which META-INF and WEB-INF are supposed to be used for
    configuration?
What is the purpose of having two pairs of META-INF and
WEB-INF in the same web app?

    Hello -
first, those folders are necessary in deployment - You need
only the contents of the bin folder for deployment, not the
sources. Since you're compiling the application locally in FB2 it
places all of the supporting and necessary files into one location
namely the "bin" folder. You'd deploy the "bin" folder's contents
to the FDS server, perhaps another FDS server that is not your
"development" server -- like a production server. The data and
configuration information that your app needs for FDS services are
stored in the WEB-INF and META-INF folders so these need to travel
with the final product. On the production server you'd just cop the
"bin" folder and it's contents to the /servers/default folder -
where you could then rename your bin folder to "MyDS"

  • Problem with package and directory structure

    Please... I need help with a directory/package structure that I don't understand
    why it is not working...
I want to create a custom login SWF which several other SWF movies will use in case they need some kind of login logic (in this case it is a login logic... but the problem doesn't have anything to do with that logic...)
I have created a FLA movie (LOGIN.FLA) and two helper classes (MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS)... they are all under the same directory, for example:
    c:\
         abc\
              def\
                   ghi\
                        login
In LOGIN.FLA, I have included the source path, c:\abc (for example).
MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS, have both a package like:
         package def.ghi.login
MainLogin class uses MainLoginEvent (it dispatches events of that type)... but I don't have to import anything as all 3files are in the same directory...
LOGIN.FLA has its class defined as def.ghi.login.MainLogin
And that's all... now comes the problem:
    1. If I leave everything as described and try to publis LOGIN.FLA, it throws error 5001 ("The name of the package def.ghi.login.MainLoginEvent doesn't reflect....) for class MainLoginEvent... don't understand why... it is placed exactly as MainLogin and has the same package definition!
    2. I have tried several other options, but when I get the SWF to get published, then, the problem comes when trying to use this SWF from another movie:
The way to publish LOGIN.FLA with no errors is: MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS with empty package definition ("package" alone...) and LOGIN.FLA with class MainLogin (not def.ghi.login.MainLogin)... LOGIN.FLA doesn't have to include source path to c;\abc in this case. This way, I can publish LOGIN and get LOGIN.SWF.
The problem now is how to use this information from another Movieclip... I want to be able to use and receive events of type MainLoginEvent but can't (it gives error 5001 again, on MainLoginEvent, saying that the name of the package '' doesnt' reflect....)... If I include the path to c:\abc\def\ghi\login on the FLA, then it gives errors in MainLogin when trying to use a class of its library...
Basically, the problem here is that, the movie which wants to use the LOGIN.SWF, is in c:\abc\def, and it is including the source path c:\abc, so if I import def.ghi.login.*
it is when it throws error 5001 (I understand why, but I dont know how to fix it...), but if I dont import def.ghi.login.* then I can't use MainLogin nor MainLoginEvent...
What is the good way of doing this kind of structure... mainly it is creating a SWF, which can be used from other SWF's and which can dispatch events, which the container SWF will capture...
If anyone can please give me a hint... THANK YOU!

Hi kglad , I don't understand the first point... "don't use absolute paths"... I'm not using them (or I don't understand what you mean).
For the second one... the structure is like:
    c:\
         abc\
              def\
                   LOGINCONTAINER.FLA
                   ghi\
                        login\
                             LOGIN.FLA
                             MAINLOGIN.AS
                             MAINLOGINEVENT.AS
In LOGIN.FLA, I include the source path c:\abc, so MAINLOGIN.AS and MAINLOGINEVENT.AS have a package of "def.ghi.login", and the class for LOGIN.FLA is "def.ghi.login.MainLogin"... when trying to publish LOGIN.FLA, Flash throws error 5001 for MAINLOGINEVENT...¿?
What I want to get is a SWF (LOGIN.SWF), which can be loaded from any other SWF (in this example, LOGINCONTAINER.SWF). LOGINCONTAINER.FLA, has a class path "c:\abc" (the same as the other LOGIN.FLA, because of the directory structure), and it has to be able to receive events of type MAINLOGINEVENT... that is why it has to do an import of "import def.ghi.login.*" (for example)
Any idea of why it is not working (or how to organize it correctly)?
    Thank you

  • Import already existing directory structure into DFS namespace?

    Hi all,
I'm planning to migrate three file servers to a single DFS namespace and after reading the official docs and numerous blog posts I'm still unsure about the right way to do it.
The "main" server already has a share with a complex directory structure, called \\server1\team, and that share shall become the root of the new DFS namespace, lets call it  \\domain.local\team.
Part of that already existing directory structure is this folder: \\server1\team\admin\communication\archive. The folder "archive" contains thousands of files in numerous folders and shall become a dfs link to another share \\server2\archive. But
before I can create the folder "archive" as a dfs link I have to create the folder "admin" in the dfs hierarchy of course, then below that the folder "communication"
Question: When I try to create a folder "admin" in the dfs namespace, I get the error message "the folder cannot be created in the namespace. The file exists."
Ok, the folder "admin" indeed exists, but how can I "import" this branch of the existing directory hierarchy into the dfs namespace?
Do I have to rename the existing folder "admin" to e.g. "admin2", then create the dfs folder "admin" and move the complete directory structure below "admin2" to "admin"? Or can I simply make the existing folder
    "admin" a dfs folder?
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards
    Christoph

    Mandy, thanks for your feedback!
I have to describe my problem more precisely: creating the root of the new DFS namespace is *not* the problem. This worked for me exactly as you expained it. The problem appears when I try to create a folder below that root in the DFS namespace. If that
folder already exists in the share you cannot choose how to handle security settings but you get an error message, and that's it.
This may be helpfull to explain what I want to achieve:
    Old structure:
\\server1\team - folder admin - subfolder "archive" - lots of subfolders and files
Now I want to move all files and folders from "archive" to \\server2\archive and link this share into the new DFS namespace, so that our users don't notice any change when they access that archive folder.
    new structure:
    1. Create DFS namespace root: \\domain.local\team  -> \\server1\team   (works!)
                |
    2. Create folder admin  (problem!)
                |
    3. Create subfolder "archive" -> \\server2\archive (not possible becaues "admin" couldn't be created)
I could perhaps create a DFS namespace with the root \\server1\team\admin\archive and link that to \\server2\archive, but I would like to avoid creating a new namespace for each share which from \\server2 which I mount into some subfolder of \\server1\team...
    Thanks for reading.

  • Enable AppXRay on a legacy project with unconventional directory structure

I've got a legacy project. My first need is to do remote debugging of JSPs (application will be deployed on an app. server on a remote server).
I imported the existing project into Eclipse/Workshop Studio. When I try to enable AppXRay it popups a Folder Mappings dialog and asks for a folder in the project that corresponds to the '/' URI.
Here's what my directory structure looks like:
    project/
    --conf/
    ----web.xml
    --htdocs/
    ----index.jsp
There is no WEB-INF/web.xml in the directory structure. The .war gets built by the Ant war command and just includes the web.xml from the conf/ dir.
If I choose the conf/ dir or the htdocs/ dir I get a warning that information related to web.xml will be missing fron AppXRay.
How do I get Workshop Studio to work in this situation?
As part of the Ant build I can add directories to the existing structure that mimic the structure of the .war that gets deployed if that will make Workshop Studio happy, but I cannot modify the existing directory structure significantly.
    Thanks.
    Dean

The WFM feature was implemented to support the project structure similar to yours.
Try the following steps to configure the project in Studio:
    - The folder mapping for your project would be
    project/htdocs => "/"
project/conf => "/WEB-INF"The "/" mapping will be your WebAppFolder (the folder containing web artifacts, like jsps, html...) and "/WEB-INF" would be the web configuration (containing web.xml and/or struts/jsf ... configuration filer).

  • Web Application directory structure

Please can someone help me with directing me to any online guide as to how webapp could be created and web.xml configuration in Sun Application server 8.
I do not understand the directory structure of sun, unlike Tomcat the webapps contains all the virtual context part with a default ROOT direct set in the server.xml as the default docbase.
Now, where is the default ROOT in Sun server? Where can I put my index file. When I create a web context, where will I put it? Does J2EE has similar WEB-INF structure in Tomcat? Does it have web.xml to configure the webapp
Finally, I have written a simple EJB called Hello World using stateless protocol. I have my Hello.class, HelloHome.class and HelloBean.class. I also have ejb-jar.xml for container configuration. I have jar then up to hello.jar and have deployed them. Now I want to access the beans, Home bean to be precises. I have written a hello.jsp and I put it in the orignal directory where the main index.html file is in Sun server which is /user/Sun/AppServer/domains/domain1/docroot, I got errors.
Could someone shade a light on this please.
    Thanks Guys.

I have awared max point for this question

The developer's guide discusses in pretty clear terms how to deploy a J2EE app from a directory structure.
The tomcat directory structure is really the same as a packaged war which once you read the documentation you will see is basically no different with SJSAS.
You need to deploy an application. See previous posts on how to have docroot be the top level (search for posts by janluehe)
