DirectX 9.0c installed, now no sou

I don't know what information you guys need to help me with this. I think it may be a Directx 9.0c driver issue, but thought I'd try you out first before losing my mind.
I'm a World of Warcraft addict and had great sound with it. The new patch was installed, which included the upgrade to Dx 9.0c. Since then I have no sound. I previously had the SoundMax sound, which came with my computer, however thinking maybe it was just outdated, I purchased a Soundblaster Li've 24-bit sound card and installed it yesterday.
Still nothing.
The strange part is that I can hear computer sounds, IM sounds, etc, but if I try to use Windows Media, or anything else that needs a DirectSound port, nothing. I ran DXdiag and it's not even recognizing a sound card, period.
Let me know what info you need, or if you just think this is going to be one of those things where I just need to relax and wait!

unfortunately there's no easy way to uninstall directx 9. You can go to the net and search for "DirectX Happy Uninstall" software. Try using that to uninstall directx and then go to microsoft website and download the latest version of their directx9

I turned on my laptop this evening to import a new cd but it asked me if i wanted to download the new version of itunes so i went ahead to update it but it failed to update then it failed to open at all, and and runtime error keeps popping up but when i uninstalled it to reinstall it it wont install now and i cant use my ipod or ipad with my laptop without itunes and i never had this problem at all. can you please help?

ok so the download problem with my iphone.. what could be the cause of that? ive restarted and deleted the "undownloaded app" over 10 times already. and restarted the iphone 10 times... next thing i know i cant install itunes on my laptop.... geez man..
obviously there is a fix which someone will help... but why should i have to go through all that crap to install a so called uncomplicated software... when you think about it this really shouldnt even be an issue.
normally if the thing dosent work. normally with most programs you just uninstall the uncompleted software and just reinstall and everything is usually good to go.. help!

I bought a iPhone 6 16 GB i OS 8.1.2 last week. A software upgrade to i OS 8.1.3 was downloaded to my phone automatically. I taped install now and the phone went to a window verifying update. Then after the verifying window another window came up and said a error has occurred and can not install. Has anyone else had this happen? If so how do I install upgrade? Or should I not install?

Also check to see that the auto-pushed update has been deleted from the device after this botched update. If the iOS update hasn't been installed due to an error, the update file could be sitting on the device using up storage space and possibly causing other issues.
Check if it's on the device under: Settings/Usage. then under STORAGE, tap Manage Storage. A list will populate with your installed apps. The iOS update will be in this list if it's still on the device but hasn't completed installing. If you find the iOS update app in this list, tap on it, then tap on the Delete App button.
Afterwards, try the iTunes update method which is easier to install since it does not require any free device space to complete.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Reboot your router. The icon only shows when connected to wifi and Apple TV or similar device. Same thing happened with my phone and the icon appeared in control center after router reboot.

You cannot stop it from popping up.
it will continue every few minutes until its installed.
just keep using the back button near right side of home button.

Reset, hold both home and power buttons for about 10 seconds until the iPhone restarts itself. If still problems, Restore iPhone again with iTunes on computer. If you have trouble, put iPhone into Recovery Mode. Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer with USB cable, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode, click Restore button of iTunes.

Can't install latest iOS 8.1.2, "Install Now" button greyed out

We have a new iPod touch that's running iOS 7.1.2.
We're trying to update to iOS 8.1.2.
The device is empty (no content, all Settings reset).
The "Install Now" button on the Software Update screen is greyed out.
The battery is full.
We've restarted the device, and also waited an hour or two to see if the button would become available.

Is the iPod activated?
Does it work OK?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Connect to to computer and update via iTunes

I meant to say 5.1 the problem I've got is it's saying it does support ppc software but I have got the intel version but for some reason won't install from disc but if I transfer from time-machine backup it works
But then it won't read my project it's so strange just don't get it

I have exactly the same problem. iPhone 4S, never been jailbroken. Not behind a firewall and it happens whether I am on my home compute (iTunes) or directly thru Settings_Update.
Looks like loads of people are having the same problem - and as far as I can see, Apple's sole reply is jailbreak or behind firewall/ security settings/anti-virus. None of those apply here!
