Directx 9 Support - Intel 945 Express Graphics Card

This Z61T Model 9442-E6U has a lot of power and I use is mostly for business. I purchased software recently that requires DirectX9 and I continue to get a program error that my graphics card does not support DirectX 9. How can this be? Is there a work around? I am shocked that this computer, with all its power, does not support the DirectX 9. I have installed the latest DirectX9.0c software and the latest graphics drivers. Help!!!

That card will run the game I have it and its amazing but you will need at least 2 gigs of ram to run it.

Now when I try to launch AE or PremierePro I get this Last log message was: <140735120521568> <GPUManager> <2> Sniffer Result Code: 3.  I have trashed the CUDA program and reinstalled Premiere and AE but no joy.  Same message followed by another error box with options to Retry, Send to Apple or ignore.  I have tried all 3 options but nothing works!  Every time I launch either program same message appears.

  • MBP with Intel Iris Pro graphic card performance

    Hi Fellow CC
I wanted to know if any of you has experience with the MBP Retina 15" with the Intel Iris Pro graphics card? does it work well with Photoshop, InDesign and some video editing?
    Cheers
    Mica

The NVIDIA card will help and give your MBPro more capabilities. The point is that Ray-traced rendering is not very helpful or useful on probably 95% of your projects. If you want to use that feature it's going to be slow with an NVIDIA card and much slower if you use CPU rendering.
What I'm trying to say is that you should buy the highest performing computer that your budget will allow. If AE is a hobby or your are a student you use one set of parameters to calculate that budget. If you make a living with AE then you use another. If you don't think about your budget and don't do some financial planning regarding your purchases then you probably won't be financially successful in many other areas of your life. The point it - carefully think about what your are going to do with what you buy and make sure the sacrifice you will have to make to purchase your tools is worth the productivity the new tool will bring to your job. Only you know that answer.
You seem to be hung up on Ray-traced rendering. For me that is a very very minor consideration. Performance and capacity is the major part so my laptop is the MBPro R that you see on the right side of the list with all of the upgrades checked. My previous MBProR was nearly the same. I bought it as soon as they were introduced in June of 2012 and sold it to upgrade in July of 2014 when the latest upgrade came out because that is what fit my business plan. The money for the upgrade came from a small portion of my billable time that is funneled into a special account just to keep my tools up to date. Any decision I make to upgrade is based on projections that weigh productivity against cost. You'll have to figure out your own criteria. IMHO Ray-traced rendering is almost not worth considering. The Retina Display and a 15" screen and processor/Ram/Storage capacity and the ability to drive a big external monitor are the major considerations.

There's a problem with old Intel cards and the current Intel drivers. Unfortunately using older drivers means downgrading xorg-server and friends. Read about downgrading in the wiki.
I'm currently using xf86-video-intel 2.13.0-4 and xorg-server 1.9.4-1 and things are OK. My card

  • MOVED: Onboard graphic card simultaneous with PCI Express graphic card

This topic has been moved to Off-Topic Technical.
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=161634.0

    Hi,
The following link shows the specs of your machine:
       http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03499587#N432
    It clearly says:
*Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.
Supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards.
Either integrated graphics or the PCI Express x16 slot are usable at one time; they are not usable concurrently.
You don't need to disable the integrated video chip (or onboard video).
    Regards.

  • Why won't HP put out an update to their Intel HD 3000 graphics card?

    Hey everyone!
I love playing World of Warcraft on my DV7 Entertainment Laptop and they just did an update this past week.  Now they are telling me my graphics card is outdated.  I went to Intel's site and there have been a few updates from the last time my graphics card was updated in 2011.
I have read that you cant do an update from Intel's site since HP customizes their driver set ups, and I don't understand why HP hasn't done any graphics card updates in so long when they preload wow on their laptops.    The gaming world is constantly evolving and needs these updates to continue playing without any issues.
Does anyone have a solution to my problem or suggestions?
    Thanks!

Do me a favor first and just to be sure look in the Device Manager under Display adapters and tell me what you see. If it is switchable you will have two devices there. You should also have an AMD Catalyst Control Center or nVidia in the list of programs. If you do not have either of these, then you do not have switchable graphics and we can proceed to install the latest Intel drivers.
This is the driver package you need:
    Drivers you need
This gives instructions on how to do the "force" or manual install of the graphics driver.
    http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm
As shown in the instructions pick the .zip version of  the drivers. These are dated August, 2013 and are the latest for the HD 3000. I have been looking at some WOW sites talking about the new updates and do not be surprised if updating the drivers is not all you need. There is some discussion that the game may have gotten too demanding for integrated video chips and your Intel HD 3000 may not be up to handling the game any more at playable resolutions and with decent video features. But before we go there let's try the driver update. Be sure you understand before pulling the trigger on this. Post back if you need any more help.

  • Is the Intel HD 3000 graphics card unsupported?

As for as I'm aware, the Intel HD 3000 graphics, is integrated and not dedicated
Why is it that my old 2009 MBP, with GeForce 9400m/9600m (Whichever it is), performs better than the 2011 macbook pro intergrated graphics.
For example on the system requirements for call of duty 4, it shows all the geforce cards being compatible, and the ati/amd ones. however it shows that integrated graphics are not supported...
Why in 2 years is there a downgrade in graphics?
And where does the Intel HD 3000 stand in terms of performance?

The Intel HD 3000 graphics in the new Intel Sandy Bridge processors is on par with NVIDIA Geforce 310M and AMD Radeon HD 5450. It is a new design, not old. It's more intended for users who don't need high-end graphics power. The Intel HD 3000 is more suited for business users or students who also like to play the occasional game. If you're a Modeller, Animator, VFX Artist or one that is an avid gamer then opting for the MBP 15" or 17" models with AMD Radeon HD 6750M would be better.

  • Adobe Premiere Supported Cuda / Open Cl graphics cards (Ram issue)?

I purchased an IMAC last year with  a AMD Radeon HD 6770M, graphics card. I was looking forward to using the Mercury Playback Engine in Premiere. It's on the list of supported cards in Premiere, unfortunately it didn't work because the cards ram was under the requirements. I wish it had mentioned that on Adobe's site, but you live and learn.
Now I want to get a macbook and not make the same mistake. I'm looking at the Intel Iris Graphics 5100 and the Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200 in some macbooks. Are there any of these cards out there that are unsupported due to low ram memory like the 6770M?

If I recall correctly, there are two flavors of the 6770M, one has 1 GB VRAM (supported) and one that only has 512MB VRAM. Sorry you weren't aware of that.

I would go with a MacBook Pro with the NVIDIA 750M in it. That's the GPU I'd use if upgrading my MacBook Pro. Underpowered GPUs are not really great if you want to keep a system around for a few years.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Z68A-G45 (G3): BIOS screen unreadable on PCI express graphics card

    I have a Z68A-G45 (G3) board with Intel Core i3-2320T processor.  BIOS version is E7750IMS v11.2.
When entering the BIOS setup screen with DEL, everything is fine when the display is connected to the motherboard HDMI port.
When I plug in my MSI Nvidia 8500GT-based PCI express video card and connect the display to its HDMI (or DVI) port, the BIOS screen is corrupt and almost unreadable.  I can see some characters and images -- the BIOS is there, I can see the temperature readout -- but navigation is very difficult.  This problem occurred with BIOS version 11.0; I just flashed to 11.2 and the problem persists.
    Here's what it looks like
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks,
    Steve

In case anybody's curious it turns out the issue was specific to the card.  I tried a different PCIe card and the BIOS screen showed up fine.
So finally I ditched my old reliable nVidia card and used the Sandy Bridge integrated graphics instead.  No problems so far.

  • Will OSX support Adaptec PCI Express scsi cards in an early 2008 Mac Pro?

I need to move my scsi interface scanner from a G4 machine and the old PCI Adaptec AHA 2930 CU card won't fit.  I was using Snow Leopard on the G4 unit - it still supported the Adaptec card and all was good.  My 23" Cinema display then bit the dust and I replaced it with with a 24" Cinema display with the mini display port connector.  I purchased an adapter from Kanex to make it compatible, but the adapter was defective - so I returned it.  Their reviews aren't very good - seem to have a lot of D.O.A. adapters - not sure I want to deal with the frustration, but it would be the least expensive option.
I do have, however, an early 2008 Mac Pro that I can use, provided that it supports the newer PCI Express scsi cards that Adaptec makes.  I'm not sure which one to get yet, either.  I'd rather not buy one and find out it won't work.  I can make a partition on the boot drive for Snow Leopard in case scsi isn't supported in later versions of OSX.  In case you're wondering, I did use a scsi to firewire adapter to run the scanner on my laptop for a while - but it stopped working and I can't locate any replacements (or the company - 2nd Wave Technologies - for that matter).  I haven't tried locating a scsi to usb adapter, but from what I can see, they are getting pretty scarce.  I'd replace the scanner, but it is fairly pricey and the newest model retails at the price of a small car - so that really isn't an option at this point.
Thanks in advance for any info.

Changed name of display adapter manufacturer.

Thanks for the response - I guess the question I should have asked is "Will OSX support scsi cards in an early 2008 Mac Pro and if so, which ones?"  I didn't realize Apple and Adaptec weren't working together - my G4 tower arrived with an Adaptec card in it when I bought it in 2000 (from a third party vendor, not directly from Apple).  It came with either OS 8.* or OS 9.  When I updated to OSX, everything continued working, so I didn't think much about it until I pondered using the Mac Pro for the scanner - at some point the G4 is going to stop working - need to have a solution before that happens.  The manuals I've been reading refer to the slots in the G4 machines as PCI.  The manual for the Mac Pro refers to the slots as PCI e.  These slots have fewer connectors, so I thought that the "Express" part of the name referred to this particular card configuration when compared to the longer card connectors in the G4 type of machines.
Can you tell me what scsi card brands will work in the Mac Pro?  I'd still like to pursue this option.  As I mentioned in my original post, buying a new scanner isn't in the cards right now - it costs more than the computer, so, although pricey, the card option is still less expensive.
    Thanks!

  • Do I meet Final Cut Express Graphic Card Reqts?

According to Apple, one needs an AGP or PCI Express Quarts Extreme graphics card for Final Cut Express HD. Does that mean my NVIDIA GeForce 6600 on the G5 and NVIDIA GeForce4 MX on the G4 don't cut it? Am I wasting my money buying Final Cut Express HD?

    Hi(Bonjour)!
I own a G5 with a GeForce nvidia 6600 256 meg VRAM, and FCE hd works very well. I dont know the GeForce 4 MX on your G4, but quartz Extreme run on GeForce2 MX with a minium of 16 meg VRAM:

  • Oracle support and compatibility with graphics cards

I have been going through 2 weeks of hell getting any kind of meaningful information on Oracle linux 6.2 support for various graphics cards. I started with an ATI FireGl card that would not work with OEL 6.2. I am swapping that out in the seemingly futile hope that I can get an Nvidia GEFORCE 8800 to work. Either I am conducting my search using the wrong verbage(hard to imagine, but possible) or totally incompetant! I am here in one last desperate gamble that SOMEONE has gone through this pain before me. Maybe I am asking too much to be able to install 11GR2 on my server and still be able to use a Gnome desktop. Linux Mint worked perfectly with the ATI card, but alas, I could not install Oracle.
    Thank you in advance
    Dean

From what I understand, the error means that the X Window server cannot find a display attached to your DVI output, which actually means it does not support the DVI port where your display has been attached to. This is a problem of the video driver that simply lacks support for your graphics adapter.
I suggest to start by connecting only one display and verify it is connected to the DVI-1 port of the adapter. Support for DVI-2 requires support by the video driver.
Enterprise Linux should work with graphics adapters that are standard with server hardware sold by HP and Dell. Graphics adapters you can buy over the desk from ATI and NVIDIA are usually designed for the end-user desktop/game market and are all difficult to get fully working under Enterprise Linux. You can check the vendor support page to see if they provide driver support for SUSE and RHEL, but I doubt that it will work with the Oracle Linux UEK kernel. Driver software from these vendors are not open source and require a specific Linux kernel. Alternative drivers exist for http://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/ for NVIDIA, but your success will vary, in particular if you need to support 2 monitors, which is not a typical server system setup.
You might have more luck using a Linux distribution for desktop systems, such as Fedora or Ubuntu. What you are planning to install from Oracle? It is easier to get Oracle Database working on unsupported Linux than trying to hack a video driver to support advanced features on an unsupported operating system. Or try a complete different approach and install Windows and use virtualization, like Oracle VirtualBox to run Oracle Linux out of the box. I would prefer to use virtualization even if my desktop computer would run Linux. There are just too many advantages I would not want to miss anymore.
