DirectX problems - Onboard video problems? K9VGM-V

I am having problems with loading the new Nero suite (7.xx) version.  It keeps coming back with a DirectX error.  The guys at Ahead are telling the same thing.
My question is:  Can I use DirectX 9.0c using the onboard video?  I don't know what bios I have yet.
PCTools 2000 tells me I have DirectX9.0c installed and is okay.

Thanks for the ideas.  I have already done the Directx diagnostics.  That didn't change anything.
when I try to run the Directx diag I get this error.  "The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll"
In fact, that dll (GDI32.dll) doesn't even show up in the list of directx files in the diagnostics window.
I have tried to load a different version of the dll but I can't since it's in use by windows.
The guys from Nero have told me that it's my video drivers incompatibility with with my video drivers.  They have a program that copies a whole heck of a lot of details from my computer and creates logs.
I have since done the online upgrade of my video drivers from MSI.  It still doesn't work.
I am noticing that I could not load Diskeeper either.  It comes up with some error, too.
This has been very frustrating.
Thanks in advance, Ray.
Reloading windows is such a pain.

Sorry, you can't....this happens on all boards that I have seen.

  • KM400A - OnBoard Video Problem

I am using the KM400A board with a 2600 sempron.  I have loaded the new Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 game, and the game will not run saying that I do not have enough video memory / or video graphics card does not meet specs.
The game requires 64MB of video memory to play.  The Atari site says to check DIrectX first, and I did, and all is fine.  Next they say...  get a new video card ...
This is the only PC game I have a problem with.  All troubleshooting reports show that the video memory is 64 on the PC.
I have upgraded to the new Video Drivers from MSI and still does not work.
Anyone else have this problem or have any other solutions ?  short of buying a new video card...
    Thanks

S3/VIA IGP's lack of hardware T&L probably won't cut it.  Have you the latest game patches and driver updates?

  • Problem viewing videos - Problema visualizzazione video

    Hello
A few days ago I decided to start trying Adobe Premiere CS5, honestly I never used this program, even earlier versions.
    Just coming to my problem:
    I imported a video
    format: mov
    size: 1280 x 720
    codecs: H.264, AAC
    Color Profile: HD (1-1-1)
    Channels: 2
    Total freq. bits.: 9745
When I put it in the timeline does not see me, but I also render anything, it reproduces more or less than 1''and then go back.
To better explain my problem I am attaching a video I made to screen
I updated all video codecs and audio
I tried with an avi video but no go.
May depend on what the problem??
    Thank you very much

Da cosa può dipendere il problema???

You should have read the limitations of the trial version on the download page. It clearly states there is no support for anything MPEG, including your material.
Don't worry, you are not alone in not being able or willing to read, this is only post 548 in the last two weeks about this. It shows you are not unique.

  • Three questions: Problem syncing, video problem, podcast problem

    I had a 4GB Nano and now I've upgraded to a 5th gen. 80GB Classic. I'm having 3 issues.
The first is after iTunes indicates that the sync is complete, the iPod still says "Do not disconnect." I just disconnect the iPod anyway and it is fine. This doesn't really bother me, but maybe it is causing the other two problems.
The second problem is a video is not syncing. I added 3 to my library at the same time. All 3 are shown in iTunes, but only 2 sync. Neither iTunes nor the iPod indicate a problem. I checked everywhere (even in music) in the iPod, but I cannot find the video. I compared all 3 videos and they all have the same properties. They are MPEG-4.
The last issue may or may not be a problem. On my Nano I had podcasts configured to sync only if they are new and it worked great. Only new episodes synced. On the new classic however the last 5 podcasts sync regardless of whether they are new or not. I'm not sure why this is. It's not a problem now - I have plenty of space - but later it may be an issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

*The first is after iTunes indicates that the sync is complete, the iPod still says "Do not disconnect.*
Your iPod is probably enabled for disk use. If this option is switched on then the Do Not Disconnect will stay there until you manually eject your iPod.
Connect your iPod and in when it appears in the iTunes 7 source list click on it to see the preferences pane. In the "Summary" tab see if there is a tick in the box “enable disk use". Remove the tick from "enable disk use" and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished updating.
When an iPod set to manual update, the "enable disk use " box is greyed out and ticked by default: Safely Disconnect iPod

  • MSI K7N2G-ILSR onboard video initialization problems

Hi, today I replaced my wife's trusty Abit KT7 motherboard with a MSI K7N2G-ILSR.  I used the onboard video since she doesn't play games.  Everything seemed to be working fine until I went to boot it up. The computer started up as usual, but the monitor did not intialize like it should.  The message on the monitor said that " the monitor was working correctly and to check the cord or the computer."  I rechecked all of the connections and everything seemed to be installed correctly.  I thought that maybe there was something wrong with the onboard video, so I decided to install the Radeon 9000 that was in the old system.  To my suprise I received the same message when I started the computer up the second time.  I have built several systems and have never encountered a problem like this before.  I read the thread about problems with the Radeon cards, but no one mentions anything about problems with the onboard video.   I am using a Duron 750, Antec 330 watt PSU and 512 megs of Kingston Value Ram.  I know that several posters have recommended that nforce 2 users need a more pwerful PSU and better ram, but I have a hard time beleiving that those things would cause the video not to intilaize.  I would appreciate any feedback and/or suggestions because I need to make a desision about hwat to do with this board.  Thx.

Well I appreciate the replys.  I formated the harddrive before I installed the motherboard because I was worried that the via drivers would cause problems when I booted it up and installed Win XP.  Bonz, you are right, I am just guessing that everything is OK since I can hear the system start up, but I can't see anything since the video never intializes.  I rechecked all of the connections and even took the motherboard out and reinstalled the cpu, memory and motherboard and the same thing happened.  I started thinking something was wrong with the monitor so I unplugged the monitor from my system, which I know works, and it did the same thing.  I just wish I could get the video to intialize so I could see to get into the bios to look around.  I will check the jumpers on the board and continue to mess around with it.  I would appreciate any feedback I can get.  Thx again.

  • Video Problem with MS-6390 Motherboard

Hey everyone, here is my problem.   My current video card is an old GeForce 2 MX 440 AGP.   I've never had a problem with it.  Today I purchashed a PNY GeForce FX 5200 AGP.
When I remove my old card, and install the new one, I have a problem which i can't seem to solve.  my pc boots up, checks the ram, blah blah blah, when it goes to start up Windows XP.  The screen remains black.  It doesnt even show the windows xp is loading logo.  Nothing. I took the video card back where i got it, they slapped it in a machine there, and it worked perfectly.  So I came back home, gave PNY a call.  They asked me if the card had an internal video card, I said yes, we went in and disabled it. (at least i think we did) Where the bios mentions how much ram is to be dedicated to the onboard video card, i selected disabled.  So i started the machine up, and there was no picture, so i figured that was it, problem solved. So I slap the PNY card in there. Same results. NOTHING.  Is there something I am missing here? Any help would and I would be VERY gratful!

    Hi..
The thing with these new TI and FX cards is that they require a lot of power to run porperly.. If ure system is running at around 80% capasity, then probly the VGA card hasnt enought power left over in the PSU to initalize properly.. That might be why the system goes blank when the XP boots..
It would be a wise idea to post ure compleate system configaration to get a better answer,,
    Regards

  • Question for the experts on Video problem

We are away on holidays but didn't want to miss this opportunity to ask for help from the experts. I'm not sure if I have a problem with my motherboard or video card or both. I posted the problem previously but here it is again.
I have an HPE-250f HP desktop computer which has worked well although has not had a lot of use. Shortly after purchasing it I got a real deal on a 17" i7 laptop which has been used much more than the desktop. Yesterday numerous Windows updates were installed and a couple of reboots to complete the installations. On occasion in the past Windows updates have caused issues but am sure they are not the cause of the current problem.
Upon turning on the computer yesterday it sounded like an airplane taking off so pulled the side cover off and it was the fan on the video adaptor that was making all of the noise. I have never heard it anywhere near that loud in the past even when under very heavy usage. In addition there was no video signal so my first thought was the adaptor had died. I took the adaptor out and reinstalled it to make sure it was seated properly however no change. I took the adaptor out again and then uncapped the VGA and DVI connectors that are on the rear of the computer but I did not get a video signal from either of those two outlets either. I don't know whether those ports are enabled on the motherboard or in the BIOS as this computer came with an upgraded video card. Either way there was no video. I have another low end video card here that I don't think was ever used so installed it and again no video. The hard drive seems to be making the normal sounds you would hear when it is booting but again with no video can't really say what is going on.
I am sort of out of ideas as to what to try next as without video you can't see if there are any error messages coming up, whether it is trying to boot or is actually loading Windows.
I don't want to scrap the computer and I guess an option would be to try and find the same motherboard and replace it but I am hoping someone may have some suggestions as to whether there should be video from the built in ports that come capped from the factory. It just seems odd that there is no video from the original card, the built in ports, or a different video card. It is also odd the original video card fan funs flat out when you turn the computer on before it even starts to get warm. If there is a problem with the slot the card goes in one would think the built in ports would still have video but that is assuming they are actually enabled but again don't know if they would be.
If anyone has any suggestions or if anyone knows a reliable place to buy the same motherboard that is in this computer I would appreciate that information.
    Thank you

Finally back from vacation and took a bit of time to get caught up from vacation. It appears somehow two threads got started so will continue on with this one as there is more activity here. There is no video from the original video card reinstalled in the computer. There is also no video on either of the integrated ports after removing the caps and removing the battery, and tried two different monitors just to be sure. I have a friend with the same computer and he said there is no setting in the CMOS/BIOS to enable the onboard video so don't know if it has been permanently disabled or not but again no video from either of the integrated ports. Also If there is a speaker on this computer they have done a very good job of hiding it and i have never heard it beep in all the time i have owned it. I know at this link under INTERNAL CONNECTORS it mentions a speaker connection. I would install a speaker for the purpose of troubleshooting but I cannot find a reference anywhere that says which pins are for a speaker so if anyone would know where to find this information I would gladly install a speaker so we could troubleshoot further. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-Elite-HPE-Desktop-PC-series/4162190/model/4262654/document/c02014355 It is certainly a possibility that one of the updates caused an issue but it would be surprising as these were updates to Windows and not the BIOS, so one would think if the update was causing an issue it would be after the POST and when it was about to start loading Windows. I will try the suggestions listed above to the extent I can without a speaker connected but it would be great if someone can post a manual for the motherboard that mentions which pins or header has the speaker connections so I can install a speaker. I just heard back from my friend that has the exact same conputer and his has no audible beep when it starts either and am sure there is simply no internal speaker on this computer. Thank you

  • Problem with Video capture Device

i have a problem with FME. i am using Avermedia TV capture
device and Canon 3ccd Digital Video Camcorder ( PAL ) when i open
the FME interface the warning given for " Problem with Video
    Capture Device".
i read all the topics in Flash Media Encoder Category, if
this problem occures my capture device ( i expect MPEG ) how to
    solve this problem?
    Thanks,

The Device Matrix is something we'll be updating in the
future as we continue to test more and more equipement. Ideally, I
would like for users such as yourselves to be able to add to it and
tell us what has worked for you as well. If anyone has any ideas
about what technology we should use to do this (e.g., this forum? a
    wiki?) please let me know.
Regarding the devices not working - the main problem we see
is that the system requirements are not being met. Here is what to
    check for:
    - are you running on Windows XP (only supported OS right
    now)?
    - do you have DirectX client runtime version 9c or higher
    installed?
    - do you have hardware acceleration enabled?
    - do you have 32bit graphics enabled?
    - do you have the latest direct show drivers from the
    card/device manufacturer?

  • Video problems with games

    hello,
i'm having problems playing serious sam and return to castle wolfenstein.
i'm using k7n420, onboard video, 1.13 drivers, 17 inch princeton monitor, windows setting is at 1024 x 768, 32 bit.
i first experinced this on serious sam, game video setting is at 800x600, color depth is windows default so i assume 32 bit.  when playing at this resolution, the screen wont fit my monitor, its stretched, a little bent, changed to 1024x768 and 640 x 480, and its okay, but 640x480 is too low, and 1024x768 is just too slow for me, slows down my system.  but it wasnt like this before, so i uninstalled the game then reinstalled it, then its okay, after a few days, it went back.
now, wolfenstein also acts like that...
    thanks,
    edison

Ive got an option for you. Try changing the refresh rate for the monitor at 800*600. Some monitors are kinda funky and will actually alter the screen appearance with varying refresh rates.

  • [SOLVED]Video problems and more

Some months ago, I posted about my video problems in trying to install Arch on several different computers.  Getting no good results I gave up, but recently made another attempt.  Right now, I have Arch installed on my test computer which is a MSI Celeron, with onboard S3 ProSavage video, one monitor. I do not use a desktop, only the JWM window manager, no icons, wallpaper or any other crap.  Here, Arch is great. Ultimately, I want to get Arch set up on my workhorse which is an Asus P4, with no onboard video using dual monitors.  I might add that this ASUS board, with two old nVidia cards, AGP and PCI ran dual monitors with FreeBsd and Debian.
    Herein lies the problem:
I want Arch NOT to mess with the video until I start xorg regardless of whatever AGP and PSI card I might be using.  Please stick with the BIOS resolution.  This is how it was with every other linux I have installed.  I have tried several video cards, AGP nVidia, ATI, and Matrox, as well as PCI nVidia and ATI, all with different results. Using most of the cards, I get a console (no, haven't messed with xorg yet) that appears in the upper left corner so small I can't read it.  Or else, there's a white square that obliterates the upper left of the console,  The only time this doesn't happen is if i use the matrox AGP card or an ATI PCI card not in conjunction with another card.
I read to use the vga=xxx in the grub menu list as well as kernel boot option set to nomodset, but either I don't know how to do this, or else it doesn't work for me.  What is KMS, and how to use it?
I want to resolve this issue before attempting to get dual monitors set up on the Asus board.  Any help is appreciated

    KMS
I don't quite get it: does the picture get messed up as you described after the kernel loads? Do you have normal BIOS logo / text before the bootloader starts?
As Arch takes over the boot process, the resolution becomes somewhat higher, and then when comes the logon screen it's so small, in the upper left, that I can hardly read it.  This problem is well documented on the search engines.  I have read where some users want a higher console resolution, and others want a lower resolution.  I have installed Slack, FreeBSD, Debian, TinyCore and others, without this problem.  Apparently, Arch is deciding what screen resolution a user should have in the console.  This would be more understandable were it not that there is no consistancy between various video cards. Yes, I'm guessing that this happens after the kernel loads.  But how come the discrepancy between different video cards?

This computer has been out of service for almost 6 months as I have replaced it with a new one. I grabed it today and loaded XP Pro on it without any problems. I have 2 monitors attached to the ATI 9700 Pro both running at 1600x1200. After configuring the new OS with updates and drivers I rebooted. This is where the problem surfaced.
    PROBLEM:
I get to the XP PRO Loading screen with the progress bar. After a few seconds, 2 revolutions from the progress bar, the screens go black and a few seconds after that the monitors go into standby due to the lack of a video signal.
    MORE INFO:
Several times when I tried to reboot, the PC would not display video at all and beep (the video error), 7 times (I think). Now this problem is not happening. Although I did get random characters all over the screen once.
