Dirt/Particles Under the BB Screen

Dirt, or something of the sort, has gotten caught between the front glass and the screen.  I found instances on this forum regarding the problem with the Storm, but not with the 8330.  Does anyone know how to get it out, or at least prevent this from getting worse?  Thanks.

You can replace the front lens cover yourself... not too complicated, I have done so on several for crack and the such. But you have to be careful with the sealing of the cover on or you stand to continue to have the issue.
I believe your carrier will replace it.

  • Dirt under the ipad screen

    Hi,
I realizes there's a bit of dust under the ipad screen. did anyone encounter that before? can it be send to the service center to check? Thanks

I'd take it back. If it is new they should give you a new one. Otherwise, they should give you a serviced one. In either event, it goes without saying, make rue you back it up first.

  • Does dust under the iphone screen protector cause problems for the retina?

I dont have bubbles under the protector but if I reflect the screen under light I can see tiny dust particles under the protector, they are small white dots. So will this cause issues for the screen and is it worth removing the screen protector itself to fix or will it do nothing to the resolution of the phone?

will this cause issues for the screen
    No
will it do nothing to the resolution of the phone?
    no

  • New iPad..dust under the glass screen ?????

After buying the new iPad 32GB 4G from your branch here in Saudi Arabia, I was shocked to discover some dust under the glass screen. When I returned to the showroom, they refused to replace it and claimed that it is normal for all iPad products to leak in dust and is not a damage in the unit. I believe it is not acceptable at all for a SAR 3000+ devise to allow dust to come into its internal chipsets (with all the damage this might cause). I am sending this as a complaint against the local reseller with request of immediate replacement.
    Please advise

OK. Apple is not reading any of these posts for hardware issues. Nobody here works for Apple. We are other users just like you.
I am advising you to contact Apple - however you can - whereever you live - there is nothing anyone here can do to help you.

  • Dust under the 6760 screen

    Hello Everyone,
First post here, so please be gentle
Somehow, my 6760 slide's screen has accumulated some dust and other unwanted stuff.
I was looking to find out how, if possible, to clean under the screen.
I slid my fingernail around in between the top and base of the screen and kind of semi de-attached it. However, despite exerting a bit of decent force, I was unable to detach the top half of the screen
I was scared that I may have snapped something otherwise.
I hope that was clear enough. If not, please do not hesitate in asking me foir further clarifications.
So, any takers on how I could accomplish this please???
I thank everyone in advance for trying to help

Thank you so much for that psychomania
I didn't damage the phone, and yes it is still under warranty.
I will see next time I head out to town if I remember to take my mobile to the repair centre or not
I thought that it would have been something easy, at the same time something that I may have being overlooking.
Thanks for the heads up nonetheless.

  • Mark under the iPad screen

    Hey everyone.
Got my iPad last week, been waiting a while as I live in New Zealand. I'm mostly happy with the product, however the day I got it I noticed a mark under the screen. I have tried to ignore it but I can't. Its only a small mark, whatever it is. When the screen is off it visible from certain angles.
Any help would be much appreciated
    -Marcus

Take the iPad to an Apple store or authorized dealer if you can and see what they say... They may not replace it because it may not that big of a defect that would warrant replacement.

  • Iphone 5 has dust under the actual screen.

I'm pretty upset that i found a tiny speck of dust under the screen. I'm pretty sure it's not a dead pixel cause it rainbows. I can't really notice it because i have an anti glare screen protector built in. Should i return it? Is this a bad sign? Can things get worse? Is this normal? I really don't want to because i don't wanna get a refurbished nor is it noticeable unless i start looking for it.

    Should I return it?
    I would
    Is this a bad sign?
Does it sound like a good sign to you?
    Can things get worse?
You can always wait and find out
    Is this normal?
Does it seem normal to you?  Probablyh not.

  • Dust under the glass screen

Hi, I have had my iPhone 4 since Friday 18th February, yesterday the screen protector that the phone came with peeled off so i took it off and wiped it with a microfibre cloth. When I was looking at the screen I noticed a white speck under the screen when the screen was off. I then turned it on and viewed it and the speck is black. could this be dust or a dead pixel? I would like to get it replaced but I have no local apple store only a Solutions Inc premium apple reseller. Also I had ordered the phone from the online uk apple store.

The iPhone 3G & 3GS can have dust get under the screen, as the LCD screen is screwed to a frame and then that frame has the glass and digitizer glued to it. There is a small amount of space between the screen and the glass so dust can work its way in there. If the iPhone 3G/3GS is under warranty you can call Apple to see if they can either clean it or replace the screen. If the iPhone 3G/3GS is out of warranty you can still call them but there is less of a chance it will be covered.
For the iPhone 4 & original iPhone, the LCD screen is fused to the digitizer/glass assembly. This way dust can not get in there, but at the same time you are unable to replace just the glass if there is damage to the glass, which makes for a more expensive repair. If there is dust some how between the LCD and glass (which are glued together) then contact apple as the iPhone 4 is still under warranty. But if there is dust there it would have had to of been there since the iPHone 4 was new.
And no the iOS4.3 update would not add dust...

  • Insects - crawling under the glass screen - like screen saver T400s

Some of the insects (0,5mmx 2mm) are obviously dead, but some are still crawling. Sometimes disapearing and reapearing.
Should I open the sreen and cleaning according to:

    Regards
    Plusminus

you shouldn't open the LCD screen, because you would either damage it or introduce more dusts onto the LCD glass, which are hard to remove.

  • Dust under the Q5 screen.

    Hey guys,
Because it's more sunny than usual I've noticed quite a lot of dust under my screen.
It's comes from the top left corner where the USB socket is.
It is also where the front facing camera is.
Question is, should I try to get it back to the retailer and hope warranty would cover it or try to clean it on my own?
    Matt

I have visited the retailer which in this case is Carphone Warehouse in their Geek Squad place on Totenham Court Rd. The only thing they can do is send it to Blackberry to get it clean but I will have to pay for this service, despite the fact that It is clearly the manufacturer fault.
It's a shame that buying a phone that works properly is such a hassle.
I would like to contact Blackeberry Customer Service but I can't find any contact details apart from the link to this forum.

  • Speck of dirt under the screen - extremely annoying!!!  What now?

On the top of my screen about 1/16" under the black border there's a tiny speck of dirt stuck under the screen. I suspect it got in there through the ear-speaker of the headphone jack.
How could it be removed? Is this something the Apple tech could take care of for me? I think the screen would need to be removed. It's annoying the heck out of me!
    -Jacob

People are taking them apart and documenting it all over the web.
    Here's one link: http://stream.ifixit.com/
I probably wouldn't do it, but some people are more hands-on than others.
I'd take it back as I've heard of the Apple store replacing dropped phones free of charge (usually they would not do this). Now is the time to take advantage of Apple's elevated "we want you to be satisfied" sentiment before it fades.
You may get a brand new one just for asking.
The question then becomes "How do you keep dirt specks out?"

  • E72 - Dust/dirt under the screen ?

    Hello!
I have the E72-1 and I'm very happy with the phone. Using 022.007 today and I would recommend this phone to a friend.
I have had a few known problems:
    pictures missing form the gallery
    the D-pad fails intermittently
No indication when the charge is done
battery cover is a joke. Bad fit and to thin
but overall the phone has worked very well.
But now I have another problem that is more annoying.
It looks like there is dirt/dust *under* the screen - I have checked the screen and there
are no marks on the screen surface. I have used the case that comes with the phone
from day one but that has not helped.
How many here has seen this ?  or am I the only one...
I can see the dust/dirt clearly when the screen saver is running, it is very annoying.
    Cheers,

    Hello,
As I previously had a 5310 "XpressMusic", very prone to dust under the screen, I am constantly watching this point on my 3 months old E72-1 (made in Finland, bought in Paris - France).
I always wear the E72 in jeans/shirt pockets without extra protection, so it is the worst possible situation.
I affirm that after 3 months of heavy usage there is ANY dust under the screen, nor under the camera window.
Under the exact same condition, the camera on the 5310 was almost unusable after 1 month, and its screen was innerly covered by dust after 2 months (but still visible and usable after 2 years, so don't worry).
But if you see too much dust under the screen, your unit could be defective as others (mine) don't have this default.

  • Will I get a replacement for dust under the screen?...

    Hey everyone!
I've had an iPhone since the 3G came out and I've never had any problems with dust. My 3G got replaced by 02 insurance about 5 months ago and I got a new 3GS 16GB. Since then I noticed the odd little bit of dust appearing under the screen. Most of the time I couldn't see it so I didn't really care but now I've noticed a few larger pieces and they're really annoying.
I understand that I should get a 12 month warranty with this and surely it's not meant to happen so I'd expect a replacement. I've searched around and I seem to get mixed answers. The problem is that I'm currently working in Cologne and there are only 3 Apple Stores in Germany (I can't believe it!) and the nearest one is still over 100 miles away.
What do you recommend? Would Apple do anything like post one (I doubt it?) or am I going to just have to wait until I'm near Frankfurt (or even back in London) and book an appointment there. Even then... what are my chances of getting a replacement?
Thanks in advance everyone! Much appreciated

I doubt they will give you a replacement. I know here in the States you can take your iphone to an Apple store and they can replace the screen and charge you $200 for that. But I find it hard to believe they would replace the screen for free just because there are dust particles under the glass. That's just my opinion.
