DIS Install fails to find notes.ini if multi-user notes install

Yesterday I attempted to install the WebCenter Integration into a Citrix image and it fails with the error 'Error 2343: Specified path is empty'. After some experimenting on a physical machine I have been able to confirm the installer program fails if the Lotus Notes client has been installed with the multi-user option (what we require) but succeeds if it installed as single user.  With Lotus if it's installed as single user the data directory will be in the program install directory, if it's multi-user then it's in the user's profile. . Looking at the installer log you can see it can't locate the notes.ini file when it's a multi-user install.

Install Notes as single user then switch to multi-user, there is a section in the guide here http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/doc.1111/e10624/setup.htm#DISUS147 that tells you how to manually edit the Notes.ini file

  • DPM 2012 R2 install fail - Reporting services "definition contains XML that is not well-formed or the XML is not valid"

    Hi Everyone,
I've been battling with this for a while and I'm getting nowhere. I'm attempting to install DPM 2012R2 onto a fresh VM with a local SQL installation. The setup is as follows:
    Server OS: 2008R2 SP1
    SQL: 2008 R2 standard with SP3(tried SP2 before this)
    Collation: SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS
Reporting services installed: Yes(ticked do not configure during the installation)
Enabled reporting servics on port 80 with the default URL
DPM Installation does not throw any errors during the preinstall stage(The server passes all the checks)
Basically, when Installing. I get this error(extract):

I've managed to get it to this stage. Originally I didn't have encryption keys or a listening port(which I fixed).

    Can you try following steps:
If there are SSL certificates on your computer, by default SQL 2008
installation configures HTTPS for reporting websites. When DPM tries to
deploy reports on these websites it may fail if the reporting websites
are not accessible (might be due to invalid/expired certificates). To
workaround this, provided you do not require HTTPS for reporting websites do
    the following:
    1. Edit C:\Program Files\Microsoft DPM\SQL\MSRS10.MSDPMV3BETA1EVAL\Reporting
    Services\ReportServer\rsreportserver.config
    2. Set the SecureConnectionLevel to 0 if the current value is 2 (A value to
2 means secure connection is required)
    3. Connect to SQL reporting service configuration manager and connect to the
    instance MSDPMV3BETA1EVAL
    4. Click on Web Service URL, click advanced and remove SSL identities
    5. Repeat the above for Report Manager URL
    6. Make sure report manager URL and web service URL are accessible with out
    any errors.
    6. Restart report server
If that doesn't solve the problem, please try following steps:
    1. Open Start-> All programs->SQL server 2008->Configuration Tools->Report
    Server Configuration Manager
    2. Connect to the instance which the DPM is using to install.
    3. Browse Report Manager URL and web service url
    4. If report manager URL or web service url throws any error say 500 or 404
fix the error. (Try also replacing machine name with localhost in url)
    5. Otherwise delete DPMReports folder (if present) using below instructions
    6. Restart reporting services
    7. Try DPM setup again.
    Deleting DPM reports:
    1. Open report manager URL in IE
    2. Click show details on right hand side
    3. Put a tick against DPMReports folder
    4. Click Delete button.

  • SAP fails to find uninstaller or uninstaller parameters are not passed

We have a custom add-on , and we intend to deploy the add-on with professional quality. However I have a issue with the uninstaller area.
    Scenario 1;
    Installer name = AddOnInstaller.exe
    Uninstaller name = AddOnUnInstaller.exe
I have created a proper uninstaller and have created the ARD file with the uninstaller listed there. The proper parameters were given, However when registering the add-on ( with SAP) , SAP throws a message saying that uninstaller could not be found. However the uninstaller is present in the given path. I have checked the path in the ard file too. SAP however installs the add-on properly.
Also During the install SAP copies the Installer.exe to the local profile temp folder, and runs from there. Does this have something to do with SAP not finding the uninstaller?
    Scenario2:
This time I tried creating the Install and Uninstall function within the same program. So I have one exe now called AddOnInstaller.exe
I have set the installer in the ard file to the AddOnInstaller.exe  and given the proper parameters. And I have set the Uninstaller in the ard file to another parameter such as “/u|uninstall;”.
When registering the add-on within SAP, SAP now dose NOT give an error ( could not find uninstaller ). And also the add-on installs properly.
Within my AddOnInstaller.exe, I check the command line to see if the command line is for an Install, or an Uninstall.
However when the add-on is removed and deregistered, when I log back in to SAP, and when SAP runs the uninstaller, it passes Install parameters to the AddOnInstaller.exe. I have checked this with message boxes. Should it not pass Uninstall parameters as given in the ard file?
I need a fix for this or a workaround please. all help is appreciated.
    regards,
    Indika.

yes the fixing the parameter helped, now SAP passes the correct parameter. I pass /u ( no | hwoever ).
        vCommand = Split(Trim(Command), "|")
        mInstallPath = Trim(vCommand(0))
If UBound(vCommand) > 0 Then '---means Install paramaters
            mInstallerPath = Trim(vCommand(1))
        Else
            bUninstall = True
        End If
        If bUninstall Then
            Call UninstallAddOn
        Else
            Call Install
        End If
    this code above worked, thanks.

The auto recovery dat should be in the Microsoft User Data folder in your documents folder, not in the Library. However, I Haven't had to look recently.

  • Not inheriting group membership / users not showing in workgroup "Everyone"

    Hi,
In the new OS X Lion Server Profile Manager, there is a default group called Everyone, that should contain all users.
However, it only shows the first user I created (UID 1025).
Users created after that are not automatically added to the group Everyone
I can assign these newer users to a Workgroup I created myself, but since they are absent in the Everyone group, I cannot assign devices to these users, and thus not properly manage these users and their devices.
Using Workgroup Manager to check on the membership of the users with UID>1025 I see that the inherited workgroup membership of Users (GID 403) is missing.
How can fix a problem with the inherited group membership of users?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
I just tried to install VS2013 update 1 ("Run As Administrator") from the ISO image and the installation finishes with a lot of messages like these:

My Visual Studio still seems to load following the failed installation, but I'm not sure if anything is broken yet.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?
    Thanks, Greg

    Hi Greg,
Most of the same error as far as I see are due to corrupt installer. Please try use fciv.ext tool from this site:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841290/en-us
Then use sha-1 number to compare it with the one listed here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=41650
    SHA-1: 51403CAF8E5E9799ACF1F3A0DA0E46390CD2FB16
If it is not the same, you have to redownload your ISO, it is corrupt.

Hello, I have recently installed Acrobat 9 Pro and It runs fine in an alternate account on my machine. When I go to run it on the primary account, It immediately throws an error. I have checked the registry and the account in question does not have its app data on a UNC path. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Nick

This is a user forum, but with Adobe you might find better help here than in other places anyway. Many of the users here have been through most of the problems and if you hit one that has been there you will likely get a good answer. Some of the folks are good at making suggestions to try (as they would try) and others will try to replicate the problem if you give enough info. Many of us are a bit crazy for spending so much time here, but we learn along with helping, an aspect we enjoy - takes the edge off the day! (OK, maybe I am speaking for myself.)
If you run into some other specifics that may help others provide you ideas to try, do come back. If you find a solution to your problem, please report it also. Bill

i am using Web Service to start runbooks.  most users are successful.  but one user gets an error "runbook not found".  the IIS logs show identical requests to the web service, except for the different username.  the user
is an administrator on the machine and is a member of the OrchestratorUsersGroup.  is there some other group that the user should be a member of to run web services?

  • SCOM agent install fails Error 80070035 - the network path was not found

I have deployed SCOM 2012 agents to most servers (2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012R2) in our estate but some either fail to install or are not monitored. I assume the two problems are related, but for now I am concentrating on the servers that fail completely.
Installation is from the Discovery Wizard and I have about 20 servers that fail of various server versions.
So looking at one specific server that is failing to install the agent - a 2008 standard service pack 2
The firewall in on and file and printer sharing is enabled for domain, remote administration is enabled for domain
I added a specific rule to allow TCP 5723 and 5724
    DCOM is enabled
I can Ping the target server from the SCOM server by both name and FQDN - both return the same IP and our DNS server has only one entry for this server
I can browse to the admin share \\server\C$ from the SCOM Server, using the same account that I specify for the agent install that is a domain admin with rights on this server (and on the other servers the agent
did install to) and the server has plenty of disk space available
I am not sure what else to look at so would welcome any ideas
    Thanks

    Hi Petro,
I have a Agent installation failure cheat sheet, For your error 80070035 it is said to perform a manual installation.
So i would like to understand which version of SCOM is this ? 2007 R2 or 2012 or 2012 r2 ?
Also check if your agents have the WMI service started and enabled ?
Also if yours is a SCOM 2007 R2 do you have a RMS & MS in your management group ? If yes then Pushing the agent installation from MS may cause such issue. So would suggest you push the installation from RMS.
Also check if your Network connectivity meets the minimum requirement as recommended by SCOM. Below is applicable for Both SCOM 2007 R2 & SCOM 2012 & 2012 R2.
    Component A
    Component B
    Minimum Requirement

Root management server or management server
    Agentless
    1024 Kbps
Root management server or management server

Also check if you have any Anti virus / Firewall which is blocking the install / communication. If yes disabe or add the "Monitoringhost.exe to the safe list or what your feature is.
Check if you have another IP assigned to the NIC card and remove it tempraurly andchecl.
Also post the event logs of the Agents which are in not monitored state for analysis.

    %windir%\422C3AB1-32E0-4411-BF66-A84FEEFCC8E2
When you install or remove a management agent, the Operations Manager 2007 management server copies temporary files to the remote computer. One
of these files is named LockFileTime.txt. This lock file is intended to prevent another management server from performing a management agent installation at the same time as the current installation. If the management agent installation is unsuccessful and
if the management server loses connectivity with the remote computer, the temporary files may not be removed. Therefore, the LockFileTime.txt may remain in the folder on the remote computer. When the management server next tries to perform an agent installation,
the management server detects the lock file. Therefore, the management agent installation is unsuccessful.

  • LEOPARD INSTALL FAILED - 2ND COPY OF LEOPARD!

I tried putting Leopard on - the disc was scanned and it then went on to install. About 1/3 way through, screen came up with "INSTALL FAILED... MAC OS X could not be installed on your computer. The source media you are installing from is damaged. Try installing from a different copy of the source media or contact the manufacturer for a replacement."
I went back to the Apple store in Regent Street, got a new copy, re-installed the computer with the original recovery discs, and then re-installed the Leopard disc. All was going well until again I got through the 1/3 part of install and the same thing happened as quoted above.
I can't believe the SECOND new copy I got can also be faulty... any other ideas? My machine is completely newly installed, and still no joy.
Does anyone know what else can be done?

OK great news. I finally got it to install on my G5.
See my previous post for the trial and errors.
Here is what I finally did:
    1. Unplugged all external drives.
    2. Removed all memory except what shipped with my G5. (don't skip this step because other's have said they found bad memory and that solved their problem too.)
    3. Boot from the Leopard installer.
    4. Ran disk utility before trying to install.
    5. Repaired disk permisions from insaller disk.
    6. Cant' recall if I rebooted again or not... sorry.
    7. Installed Leopard flawlessly. (this was the first time it made it past about 75% before saying "Installation Failed" ... "this DVD disk is damaged etc."
    8. I am back up and running.
    Thanks for everyone's help.

  • Archive/Erase and Install fail

I hate to add my own sob story here, but I'm at a loss here.
I'd had lingering minor problems with my Tiger installation, so I figured that when I got Leopard, I'd wipe my hard drive and start fresh. So I pop in the disc and 24 hours later, I've had no success. At first, I thought my problems might be the result of a bad DVD, so I returned it to the CambridgeSide store today and obtained a replacement, which fails exactly as before.
I've tried using both "Archive and Install" and "Erase and Install", with several extras or just the base system; it always terminates with a message about how the Installer could not validate the contents of the "Essentials" package. At one point, after a botched Erase and Install I tried an Archive and Install for kicks, and it seemed to get farther along before terminating in another Install Failed, this time telling me that it could not install files to my hard drive.
I've run Verify Disk in Disk Utility on my hard drive twice, and it hasn't found anything wrong. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

    Larry V. wrote:
I The Genius I worked with told me it was likely a bug (albeit a major one) in the install program.
Well there's one Genius whom I can respect.
I think this is the conclusion many of us are reaching. I wonder if it might be related to the DVD being double-layered? It might simply demand a tad too much from an older or slightly out-of-kilter optical drive.
I know for a fact that the ultra-thin optical drives in the MBPs have been a headache for Apple.
Eventually this will all be sorted out. My disks shipped today. I am already an expert in what not to do, but only the doing on my own machines will tell how well I have learned my lessons. I have two MBPs and one G5 to Leopardize. I will have a house full of backups for each before I even start

  • Software Pack 8.1.0 install fails "Phone Firmware Install failed"

    Hello-
I have a brand new UC540 that I am trying to install the latest software pack on (8.1.0) using CCA 3.0.(1). I have gone straight into Maintenance>Software Upgrade and tried to run the update, but it fails with "Software Pack Installation failed, reason = Phone Firmware Install failed". I try to run the Software Pack install without any phone loads selected and the same thing happens. Also tried wiping the system to factory defaults, but it says the current factory default configuration is missing and I must download the version of the software package.
Not sure where to go from here, any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hi
In addition to David's excellent post make sure you configured the UC's IP Address as default gateway. In my case I had the exactly same problem. After a closer look I noticed that the UC used a different IP address for some tftp requests than the one from the directly connected network.

It looks like the UC used the Loopback0 IP address which was unknown because of the lack of a route/default gw. after i configured the 192.168.10.1 as default gw, the CCA update run trough like a charm
