Disable "add to my page" link for an administrative preference portlet

Is there a way to disable the "add to mypage" links for some portlets on a page.
Maybe an adaptive tag to accomplish this?
This would give the user that ability to add one portlet to several communities and prevent anyone from adding the portlet to a mypage.

Thanks for replying - but:
1. if I make the portlet for "communities only" then it can only be used on that one community and no other.
I assume you are referring to making it "communities preferrences'.You are incorrect. If you set a portlet to "For Community pages only." then it can be added to multiple communities.
I wasn't referring to community preferences.

2. and i think the security is setup so only admins can edit, everyone else in the corporation has read, but the "add to my page" link is showing up because the portlet is for "administrative preferences".A user needs select access on a portlet and the portlet to be set to "For My Pages or Community pages." in order for someone to add it to their My Pages.
If everyone in your company has read access then they won't be able to add it to their My Pages.
I'm really confused about this "Add to My Page" link you are referring to. Where does that appear?
Just to be sure, we are talking about WebCenter Interaction and not a different portal right?

    Try stopping Safari followed by resetting your phone: double-tap the home button, locate Safari at the bottom (swiping if necessary), tap and hold until it wiggles, tap the minus sign.  Now reset: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignore the off slider that appers first), then release.  If it still is missing you may need to restore your phone, which will put a fresh copy of the iOS on your phone (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414).

  • Disabling Banner Page links for Page programatically

    We have created pages and page groups programatically. We would like to disable banner page links like Customize, Refresh, Login/Logout from the page programatically.
    Can any one provide us any clues in this regard.Since we have about 200+ page under 50+ groups and doing this task manually is not feasible.

    hi,
    there is currently no public API to perform this operation. if your pages are using the same navigation pages you just need to change it on one central place. this depends if you have the navigation pages under the shared objects or if you using it locally for each page group. if you have it under the shared objects for all page groups you can change it there - you just need to do it 1 time. if you are using local navigation pages for each page group you need to change this for every page group.

  • How to disable adds on mozilla pages, that interrupt my browsing sessions

    I use Mozilla to go onto facebook. I recently started having ads show up on the page, which interrupt me while updating my status or commenting on my friends' statuses. This is annoying. How do I disable the ad function in Mozilla?

    Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
    You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
    Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

  • How to disable VO initialization on page render for MessgeChoice *URGENT*

    Gurus,
    I've got a poplist that is getting initialized when page is being rendered. This is causing quite a bit of lag when the page initially renders. The VO is also being called through an EVENT, at which time, an extra condition is applied. This is the valid way this VO should be called.
    How do you avoid the blind query when the page initially renders?
    Please help deadline has passed.
    Thanks,
    Scott
    P.S. I must assign setWhereClause bind variable in VOImpl because value is being derived by user.

  • Rate it Link for items in a content Area

    Hi,
    How do I add a rate it link for all items in a content area and track the rating for items by all the users. This is urgent and any help is appreciated
    Thanks
    Makario

    You need to create a custom item type, with a procedure that displays a link to do the rating.
    For an example of a custom item type procedure, see Re: personal oracle 9i
    Note that the primary key for an item is (masterid, id, caid, language).

  • Home page link

    I changed home page link for the public user to some other page. When I click on it as a portal admin, I go to the same page, even my login page has changed to it.
    Why is this so ?
    Raja

    Thanks Michael,
    I also found another way of doing this through a dynamic page with JavaScript.
    You can specify the Frame driving URL link to point to a dynamic page which has the following code...
    <-HTML>
    <-HEAD>
    <-TITLE>Portal Home</TITLE>
    <-/HEAD>
    <-BODY>
    <-SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    window.parent.location.href = "http://rs2020-1-3:7778/pls/portal30/PORTAL30.home";
    <-/script>
    <-/BODY>
    <-/HTML>
    This closes off the frame and ensure the "home" page is displayed in full.
    Thanks for your help.... Matt.

  • How to easily add Facebook, Digg, Twitter, Share (for email links) to page...

    Hello,
    I would like to add a few of those Facebook "Like", Digg, Twitter, etc. buttons to a client's page.
    I looked at Facebook and I think I can get the code there for Facebook; but, do I have to do this for each site? Or, is there someplace where I can get the code to add several of these links at once? You know the type where you click on a "like" button and a pop-up window come up where you have to add your user name and password for the service you want to connect to...
    (Sorry, I'm an old graphic designer trying to offer web services. It seems that I have to learn things all over again. So, if you could, please be a little thorough. Thank you!)

  • Logout link disable on OAF standard page

    Hi guys,
    Plz tell me how to disable logout link on all OAF pages in R12 ? Is it possible to through page personalization or need to some customization/extension of oaf page ?
    My requirement is like.... after the user login, he is not able to click on logout link ......in that case he need to close window through close button (X) of Internet Explore.
    plz guys put ur suggestion & solution and help me out...............................
    Thanks

    Hi,
    As per Dev guide, we can hide the global links for seeded OAF page using below code...
    At runtime, there are rare occasions when you might need to do the following (we say "rare" because, by
    definition, global buttons are universally applicable, so it is fairly uncommon to disable or hide them if a user
    has function security access):
    To hide or disable an individual global button, use the following processRequest code:
    if (< condition >)
    OAPageLayoutBean page = pageContext.getPageLayoutBean();
    // You must call prepareForRendering() if the following code is
    // included in a pageLayout controller. If you add it further down
    // in the layout hierarchy, the menus will be fully processed so you
    // don't need to do this.
    page.prepareForRendering(pageContext);
    OAGlobalButtonBarBean buttons = (OAGlobalButtonBarBean)page.getGlobalButtons();
    // Note OA Framework automatically assigns global buttons their corresponding
    // function name, so this is how you find them.
    OAGlobalButtonBean button =
    (OAGlobalButtonBarBean)buttons.findIndexedChildRecursive("<FUNCTION_NAME>");
    238
    // Note that you wouldn't do both at the same time...
    button.setRendered(false); // Hide the global button, or
    button.setDisabled(true); // Disable the global button so it renders, but is
    not selectable
    To hide all the global buttons, use the following processRequest code:
    Warning: Hiding all the global buttons is not recommended; you must get UI team approval before doing this,
    and you must verify that there isn't a declarative alternative (for example, you could create multiple "Home
    Page" menus for your application and alternate between the one with and the one without global buttons).
    if (< condition >)
    OAPageLayoutBean page = pageContext.getPageLayoutBean();
    page.prepareForRendering(pageContext);
    page.setGlobalButtons((UINode)null); // Must come after prepareForRendering()
    // And, if for some reason, you don't want to display any tabs,
    // do the following.
    page.setTabs(null);
    The standard global buttons that appear in all applications (Home, Logout, Preferences, and Help) are
    included in a seeded menu called ICX_STANDARD_GLOBAL_MENU.
    In u r case,
    ICX_LOGOUT--- Function Name attached to ICX_STANDARD_GLOBAL_MENU.
    Logout--- is the User Function Name
    Refer metalink note *1308823.1* this helps how to remove preferences link on all oa pages.. similarly u can use this for logout.
    Hope this helps...
    Thanks,
    Raghav.

  • Self-made link for "Customize page" ?

    How do I add a link in a Navigaion Bar that does the same as the built-in "Customize page" link in the built-in header ?
    Is there any procedure for that purpose?
    (the link seams to not use a procedure)

    You could create a URL element on a navbar portlet that takes you to the customize for a specific page by copying the link for that page, but not a generic portlet that works across many pages. There is currently no procedure that generically determines what page you are on and then goes to customize for that page.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Disable Add to Cart in inProcurement Page

    Hi Gurus ,
    /oracle/apps/icx/icatalog/shopping/webui/SearchResultsPG
    I have to disable 'add to cart' button in the iprorcurement categories serch page ,
    the issue here is when i search for some item , it can show multiple catagores
    each having a add to cart button enabled , i have to selectively disable the 'add to cart' for some items based on some condition , for others its should be enabled .
    Please help me in solving this ..

    Prasad,
    The way it works in iP Search Results page is that the results region is added dynamically to the results page. If you need to dynamically disable the add to cart button, you must have a boolean attribute in your VO and then define a SPEL on the region item. However in our case, you cannot attach the SPEL through personalization.
    When you extend the VO for added a new boolean attribute that derives the value based on the category. You'll have to do this for different VOs. As the VO used to display search results is not one. It might be different based on many criterias. If you are handling this, you need to make sure that the new attribute is included in all the Search Result VOs so that you don't get an "Attribute not found" error in some cases.
    Hope this clarifies.
