Disable Airplay

Ever since my roomate bought an apple tv my MacBook Pro Audio has been automaticly connecting to the Apple TV. Is there a way to Disable Airplay audio on my mac?

So you need the iPad to be on the same wireless network as the Apple TVs?
I'm not finding a way to disable Airplay directly other than to turn off WiFi, and that of course takes you off your wireless network. If they were on different networks, that may work.
You can turn wireless mirroring on and off, but it sounds like you are talking about the ability to Airplay directly from the App with that handy little button right in the player.
Does she need Internet access? or is she playing with stand alone apps?

I've had this problem ever since I was at my friend's house- she has Apple TV- and my iPad connected automatically. So, I have no idea why any of the practical solutions that people think of are not options BUT, in terms of just getting it done, I did figure out a way. The key for me was getting near another Apple TV. I was out of town so I took my iPad to another friend's house who also has TV. Once I was logged onto their wireless network (the same network that their Apple TV is on-- that's how it connected in the first place), then the Airplay icon and options showed up from the bottom-draw menu and I was able to make sure that mirroring was turned off from the Apple TV section and to make sure the selection was on iPad instead. Problem solved. Now whether or not this will stay the same (rather than me having to make sure it stays at this setting everytime I link up to a network that has an Apple TV on it) I don't know. So my advice is find someone with Apple TV and connect to their network with your iPad and then change it.

I don't understand how to disable AirPlay on my macbook pro. It keeps asking for a password...In which i never set! Now my garageband is soundless and a pop up keeps coming on my screen asking for the password.

You had to have set up a password when the machine was first purchased. Registration will not let you get past it when you boot up the first time. You'll have to reboot holding down the Command and R keys at the same time, select Recovery Partition, and in the menus at the top there should be an option to reset password.

Disable AirPlay in Mobile Safari

I see a lot of questions about enabling AirPlay, but I actually need to disable it for certain videos I have on my site. I found Apple's guide on doing this in HTML5 at http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/documentation/AudioVideo/Conceptual/AirPl ayGuide/AirPlayGuide.pdf. However, when I did what it said to opt out (x-webkit-airplay="disallow") it didn't disable AirPlay at all. I found other sites that suggested using the word "deny" instead of "disallow" and if I do that, I still have AirPlay but the audio only. However, when I push that to my Apple TV via AirPlay, it exposes the stream URL instead of any "nice" metadata; this is a live stream using .m3u8.
So my questions are:
Is there any way to truly remove AirPlay entirely via HTML5 and Mobile Safari? (I know there are bookmarklet hacks to re-enable it but we're looking at the common user in this scenario, who won't think of that.)
If the best I can do is disable the video push, which is acceptable, is there any way to control what Apple TV shows on screen for the audio track?

It sounds like you would like to open another tab in Safari without closing the ones you already have open. The + symbol you are looking for to open another tab is in the upper right hand corner in Safari on the iPad using iOS 7.

How to disable AirPlay on MBP Mountain Lion?

Airplay is a great function but not while I'm here in College. The Airplay is getting in the way of my adobe products for unknown reasons and I was wondering if there was a way to disable airplay. The main product its messing with is After Effects. I've already called apple support and tried to google a fix for it, sadly I have come up with nothing through system preferences or through terminal. Is there anyone that might be able to figure this problem out. Here is a pic of what it looks like and what I'm trying to describe. I hav e checked in after effects and cannot find any preference specifically for this problem. I will look again, but I Doubt I will find anything.

OS Mavericks has disabled Airplay mirroring on my Mid 2010 MBP, on all apps except iTunes. WHY???!!!

A major function of my computer has now been disabled - not because the MBP cannot run it (as proven by Mountain Lion and current iTunes functionality) which is now, in my opinion, rendering the 3 year old computer 'not fit for purpose'!!
I can't even stream the BBC iPlayer from safari onto my v3 Apple TV!!!
(one of many things I could do with OS Mountain Lion)

Is it possible to disable AirPlay on the Ipod Touch?

I myself would really want to disable it. I have an airport express hooked up to a printer, and now I always get an Airplay button on my iphone which cramps up the skip and reverse buttons. When I want to pause I often accidentally push skip to next track. Very annoying. I don't use Airplay and would therefore like to disable the button from the iPhone.

In the Airplay settings section on AppleTV there should be an option to enable/disable Airplay a password - basically used to stop someone hijacking someone else's AppleTV display unless they know the code.

Airplay can not detect apple tv

Airplay mirroring can not detect apple TV.
I upgraded to mountain lion this morning and the air play icon appears on my macbook pro but it can not detect my apple tv. Apple tv is running 4.4.4 gen 2.
Any ideas?
Here's the interesting part, when I disable airplay on the appleTV the icon on my macbook disappears and vice versa.

4.4.4 is old. It may be the reason but I can't confirm as my AppleTVs are 5.0+ and none of my Macs can Airplay.

Slingbox AND Airplay with one express possible?

I two Airport Express units, one connected to my modem (WDS main) and a second connected to a Slingbox (via ethernet cable) and my stereo. I can get the Slingbox to work on my network, but not airplay (and vise versa). When the Slingbox is configured, I can "see" the Express in iTunes as a speaker choice but when I try to play to the stereo iTunes tells me that it cannot connect or find the stereo. By using the second Express as a bridge (is that correct lingo) am I somehow disabling airplay from the same Express?

I see you "reset" but if you didn't reset network settings.. do that.
Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings.
Then restart your iPad.Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
