Disable ASA Clientless VPN Application Customization Help File

I am trying to completely disable ASA Clientless VPN Applications help files. Is there a way to do this?

Windows 8 clientless SSL VPN is officially supported as of 9.0(2) and 9.1(2) codes:
Clientless SSL VPN: Windows 8 Support: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa91/release/notes/asarn91.html
Maybe upgrading your code will fix it...

  • CISCO ASA Clientless VPN Host Scan

    Hi All
We open up Internet Explorer 8 on local PC, then we are connecting using clientless vpn to a CISCO ASA 5520 8.0(4), we are getting an issue with the local internet explorer browser closing after 20 mins. The content accessed from the VPN is still available but all local Internet Explorer processes are terminated.
When i look at the hostscan.log i get TOKEN_SUCESS followed by TOKEN_LOGGEDON for the first 20 mins. After 20 minutes i get TOKEN_INVALID  followed by the browser kill command which is closing internet explorer. This is effecting all users. If i close the SSL VPN completly the same issue occurs after exactly 20 mins. The session below was started at 14:23:34 and we recieve TOKEN_LOGGEDON at 14:45:50 but TOKEN_INVALID at 14:46:50.
    Hope someone can help?

  • Headstart Help file generation

We're using designer 2.0.24.2.0 with headstart 5.0.2, I've generated an MSHELP file which runs fine standalone. But when I try and run it from a generated form I receive the message 'Type of Help system is unknown'.
I've traced the error and it's coming from a function get_help_type that's defined within the qms_core.pll supplied library. It appears that the global..qms$app_help_type has not been initialized/defined.
Can someone tell me where this global, should correctly be initialized or to the documentation that details where this global's created.
The preferences are all correct for the MSHELP help type both at application and module level.

Thanks - I've tried this and it solves the problem

    Mike,
In your application library, in the qms$init_application procedure, you should have a line of code something like the following.
    qms$application.set_help_file
    ('<help file name>','MSHELP');
It sounds like you are missing this line.
Also, you might consider upgrading to Designer 2.1.2 and Headstart 2.1.2.0.2. (Available for download from OTN). There are quite a few bugs fixed in the new versions.

  • Clientless VPN remote file explorer

I'm hoping this is a simple one.  I recently upgraded our ASA 5505 to 9.1.(1).  We have several users that use the clientless VPN from their home systems, and require access to file shares.  I was hoping that the Remote File Explorer listed in the release notes would be an improvement, but I can't seem to find it.  Customizing the Portal, I've enabled "File Server Shares" under applications, but enabling/disabling it seems to do nothing.  "Network drives" is the same old interface.  File Server Entry and Browsing are enabled.  I've also checked the plugins downloads, but I don't see anything that looks right.  What am I missing?

You need to know the IP address of the server on the other side of the VPN.
Network auto-discovery protocols tend to not work over VPN connection (generally you don't want the overhead of the discovery protocols going over the VPN link).
Once you know the IP address of the server, though, you can mount that server via the Finder's Go -> Connect to Server. Once logged into the server you should be able to use the normal Finder actions to navigate the network share.

  • Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when connected to a Visual C++ application

Crash on search function for HTML Help file (.chm) when
connected to a Visual C++ application
I use the RH_ShowHelp API command to connect a HTML Help file
(.chm file generated by RoboHelp Word X 5) to my Visual C++
application. My application is able to call up this HTML help file
in context-sensitive mode and everything is working great in the
Contents and Index panels EXCEPT when I click on List Topics (after
I enter a KEYWORD for search) in the Search panel.
I got an error that said “Unhandled exception in
    xxxx.exe.(HHCTRL.OCX):0xC00000FD: Stack overflow”
I am able to execute this .chm file by itself and the search
function works well in this case. I am using HHActiveX.dll that is
created on 2/23/04. Is this the correct version?? Any advice what
    to do here??

Hi agschin and welcome to the RH forums. The hhactivex.dll
file is not used by the search function so you can rule that our.
Have you tried recompiling and seeing if the problem still happens?
You can also start the Bug Hunter feature in RH - View > Output
View and then select the Bug Hunter button - and see if that throws
    up any clues.

  • Heading style customizations not reflected in HTML Help file

I wanted to share a solution I found for a problem with heading styles. I am using RoboHelp 9 for Word with Office 2010 and generating an HTMLHelp .chm file. When I migrated from Office 2003 to 2010 and RoboHelp 8 to 9, I customized the RoboHelp.docm template file to change the heading styles to have an orange border line over the header. (I had made the customizations in RH 8 for Word, but couldn't transfer the customization to the new template, so I did it by hand). The border line came out black in the header file in most of my topics in the .chm help file. I found one Word doc had topics with the orange line displayed correctly in the help and discovered that that heading style had Style Type = Linked, so I went to each of my Word docs and changed my Heading 1 style to use that style type and it fixed it for all my heading styles.
In Word 2010, you can change this from the Home tab, Styles ribbon. Rt-click on the Heading 1 style and choose Modify. In the Modify Style dialog set Style type to Linked (paragraph and character).

    Thanks for sharing!
    Greet,
    Willam

    HelpBroker helpBroker = helpSet.createHelpBroker();
    CSH.setHelpIDString (jButton,"filename");
    jButton.addActionListener(new CSH.DisplayHelpFromSource(helpBroker));

  • Integrating Help files in Web Dynpro Application

The requirement is : To give context specific help for each fields..
Description:The requirement  is to provide context specific help..for each field that would appear on dynpro screen..
Now what that means is.. for each field on the screen...there will be a "?" icon next to it..when the user clicks on that "?" icon...a small pop-up type of information. box should come up...displaying the text corresponding to that field..this u might of seen on some of the web sites...or microsoft applications..
No we have to store the help files..in  some proper place either KM...or anywhere...and maintaining the relationship between the field and it's corresponding help file. One of the option for this is to use microsoft help tool which creates files in the .chm format and then use these files for our purpose.
So can anyone please guide me what's will be the best way to achieve my purpose .chm files where i the help files will be stored and how they can be accessed in Web Dynpro Application. If u have any good suggestion apart from using .chm files then please suggest me.Please try to give a detailed solution.

In my settings for items in this region, I have chosen mime type image, Image or Display Name Link, and when updated as attributes....
All that appears for each item/file is Image or Display Name and item updated info, though neither of which is clickable, or hyperlinked.....

  • Dynamically loading help file from standalone application

    Hello All;
I have written into my VI an option to load a help file (.chm) from my main application using the 'Open URL in Default Browser.VI'.  When I am in Development Mode, this works perfectly.  However, after I have compiled my VIs into an executable, this no longer works (i.e. nothing loads).  I am wondering if since the CHM file is not a default LabVIEW VI/LLB if this is where my problem is?  I have attached a BMP which shouls what I am doing.
I did manage to get the CHM file to install with my application, but as mentioned, it will not load.  I have also attached a bitmap showing my build properties for this.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

The change required for path information is really not all that hard to understand. If you use something like Current VI's Path, it will return c:\folder\example.vi. When an exe is created, each VI is put into the exe which is really a type of llb file. To prove this, just change the extension to llb and you can view the contents just like like any other llb file. Then the Current VI's Path will return c:\folder\application.exe\example.vi. So, the extra strip path is required to get the folder name. Using the application property App.Kind in your program allows the same program to work in the development mode ans as an exe. It would be difficult for the app builder to automatically add a strip path because it be next to impossible to know what the purpose of the Current VI's Path function is intended by the programmer. You can also simulate the behavior of the app builder by creating an llb and testing all of your path's there before doing the build. Also, by default, the app builder does create a \Data folder but when you do the build, you can change where certain files get installed to.

  • I have imported a jpeg photo into iPhoto and cannot get the Places map to let me fix a position on the map. It remains disabled for my photo. Checking out the Help file has not given any solution.

I have imported a jpeg photo into iPhoto  and cannot get the Places map tp show. I have tried the Help file and the information was not helpful. Can anyone give advice here?

I am using iPhoto 9.1.1. When I select thephoto, then Places I get the window (Places to lookup disabled). When I hit theInfo button I get the size an JPEG notification, and  Faces and Key words. The “reverse” of thepicture shows a window with Rotate, Hide, Trash etc.
When I select Places, get the Google worldmap, and this case a pin on Sydney Australia showing that eighteen photos arecorrectly placed. I am unable to make the connection to San Francisco wherethis particular photo was taken on a very modern camera.

  • Which is the application help-files folder?

In which folder (full path) are (the various) application help-files -- those that are used by HelpViewer -- stored?

Most probably store them right in the application bundle. After all, this is what makes drag-n-drop installation possible. Applications do not need to have files all over the computer.

  • ASA Cannot access https device via Clientless VPN bookmark, site to site works fine

We've got two offices connected via an IPSEC tunnel.  This site to site VPN works great, we can access our remote devices fine from a PC on either LAN at each office.  The device's address is https://192.168.210.2
However, if we make a bookmark on the Clientless VPN for that same address the conneciton just times out if it has to go over the site to site VPN.
We plugged the exact same web enabled device on the local side of the VPN, put in a bookmark for its https address and it works fine.  Its just remote bookmarks for devices on the other side of the tunnel do not work.
Looking at the debug log I see the request going out from the source to the destination on port 443 but nothing more.  The NAT exemption etc are all right because people on the LAN have no problem accessing this device remotely with their browser.
I haven't been able to adequately describe this problem to find a matching Cisco example, anyone know how to fix this?

    hi luis,
thank you for your reply. we've checked the smoothwall configuration, but couldn't discover anything which could cause this problem. we even tried replacing the sa520 with a draytek vigor router to set up an lan-to-lan vpn with the smoothwall. with the draytek in place we have no problems accessing the aforementioned servers, so it seems the issue is with the SA520.
what exactly do you mean by creating an ACL from the remote WAN to our LAN? i assumed you meant creating a firewall rule, allowing traffic from the remote device's public ip to our LAN. however, in that case i need to enter an ip address of a device in our LAN, or else i cannot save this rule. as a test i entered the ip address of my machine as the destination address, but am still unable to access the aforementioned servers.
here's how i set up the rule:
    from zone: UNSECURE (WAN/optional WAN)
    to zone: LAN
    service: ANY
    action: ALLOW always
    schedule: (not set)
    source hosts: Single address
from: public ip of one of the aforementioned servers
source NAT settings > external IP address: WAN interface address (cannot change this setting)
source NAT settings >WAN interface: dedicated WAN (cannot change this setting)
destination NAT settings > internal ip address: 192.168.11.123 (ip address of my machine)
    enable port forwarding: unchecked
    translate port number: empty
    external IP address: dedicated WAN
