Disable auto spell check

Is there any way to set iPhoto to NOT "Check Spelling while typing" by default ? I know I can set that every time I type in a text box, but I want to make that the preference. Really annoying to see those red underlines in every text box simply because I use a specialized vocabulary.

Run the Spell checker and for those specialized words click on the Learn button. They won't be highlighted any more after that.

  • SP2013: How do I disable auto spell check on apppart when editing a publishing page?

Each time I "checked in" a page it was common to receive a dialog reporting a huge number of spelling errors.but there is no error on page...it is taking "Apppart" list items errors and wherever we have that weppart on pages it
is showing 123/124 spelling error(s) found.
and i'm unable to remove those errors. Is it defualt sharepoint functionality to get error from webpart data (I think its default functionality)
or how can i avoide those errors from publishing page?
    Thanks in advance........

  • Lion auto spell check.

lion has an auto spell check all over the place. Since I move between three languages, and Lion defaults to English this is a major pain. Where are the settings for changing the language of the auto spell check? or alternatively, how do I shut it off?
It was irritating enough on the phone, now I have the same dam thing all over my Mac too!

    Use this tutorial... http://itracki.com/dev/mac-tutorials/mac-tutorial-disable-spelling-correction-os -lion/
    Open terminal
    To disable
defaults write NSGlobalDomain NSAutomaticSpellingCorrectionEnabled -bool NO
    To re-enable
defaults write NSGlobalDomain NSAutomaticSpellingCorrectionEnabled -bool YES

  • 2010 Publishing Site - Disable automatic spell check

We have a 2010 publishing site.. and evertime you publsih a page it does an automatic spell check. Can this be disabled?
I found how to disable spell check on lists but I need to stop the auto check on page publish.
    Thanks!
    sayitfast

    I also experienced this issue.
So i tried uncommenting the registerSpellingHandler() line in the Spellcheck.js files like suggested by sayitfast. This worked for me in my dev environment. But i didn't like messing around with the default SharePoint files under the 15 hive in the prod
    environment.
So i searched a bit more and found a decent solution for this. You can disable the spell check for certain fields by setting the "excludeContentFromSpellCheck" attribute to "true" on text area and input controls that you dont want to be spell checked. I
did this on all my page layouts. Now i dont get false positives anymore.
The solution i found was this one: http://blog.cube4.com.au/?p=1016
This worked for SharePoint 2013. I dont know if this would work for SharePoint 2010 also.

Hi, can someone please tell me why the spell check in pages doesn't work. I went to preferences and enabled this auto spell checker and have set the language to british english. But still it doesn't work while it works perfectly in TextEdit.

    Inspector > Text > More > Language
Only applies to selected text, like making it a particular font.
It is not a setting that sticks. If you continue to paste in text from elsewhere particularly the Internet it will have a different or None language set to it. You need to select it and make it B.E.

  • Where is the auto spell checker?

Before Firefox v8 became available the "auto spell checker" was an add on to the Google tool bar which is no longer available for current versions of Firefox. If the Google tool bar were available then we could get the "auto spell checker". I guess the question is why isn't the Google toolbar available any more!!
I have Firefox v9 on my iMac and Firefox v7 on my MacBook the spell checker in question works on my MacBook but not my iMac.

Google has stopped supporting their Google toolbar extension with Firefox 4.0 being the last (barely supported).

Firefox has had a built-in inline spell checker since Firefox 2.0
Only the en-US (maybe fr) comes with a dictionary due to license reasons so you may need to install a dictionary if nothing is listed in right-click->Languages

  • Requested auto spell check not worked for months - gmail uses Firefox's

Tools Advanced setting is on auto spell check but has not worked for months - yes it had worked, probably for years. Looking at gmail for an auto spell checker I see that it leaves that to one's browser - Firefox.

Your More system details list doesn't show the en-GB dictionary.
If you do not have the en-US locale then check that you have a dictionary installed (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and selected.
You can see which dictionary is selected if you right-click in a text area and open the Languages submenu.<br />
Also make sure that [X]"Check Spelling" in the right-click context menu has a tick.<br />
You can also try to toggle the "Check Spelling" item off and on again.

  • How can I disable automatic spell checking for specific websites?

I'd like to disable automatic spell-checking for specific domains, such as programming-oriented forums. Is there a way to do this in about:config?

    See:
You could create a Greasemonkey script to add a spellcheck="false" attribute or create a bookmarklet to add the attribute.

  • Live / Auto Spell Check

    Hello,
My company deals with a large amount of artwork on a daily basis and we need to keep getting the artwork out of the door. Is there a plug in or script that has a live or auto spell check? Something like Microsoft word that highlights a word that is misspelled right after it has been typed.
    Thanks so much!

  • Auto Spell Check Email, but not SMS

My automatic email spell checker is a very important part of my life when I'm typing emails with my thumbs.  However, I absolutely hate an auto spell checker when I'm SMS texting - as a tend to abbreviate.  I can seem to separate the two spell checkers my Tour.  If I turn on automatic spell checking on my outgoing email (what I want), I also get auto spell checking on SMS (what I don't want).
Any way to get around this?
    Thanks,.

hmmm, you just made a darn good reason for the spell check in SMS.

  • How do I disable the auto spell check? My g-mail already has this

I don't need 2 spell checks, and when I send an e-mail, I can not get the red line to go away. Some of the words are not misspelled.
    Thank you!

To turn off Spell Checking in Firefox:
In the [[Options window|Options window]] , on the [[Options window - Advanced panel|Advanced panel]], untick 'Check my spelling as I type'.
If the spell check is correcting a number words that aren't misspelled, it's possible that it's not using the correct dictionary. If you right-click in an area that you can type in, you should see a 'Check Spelling' menu item and below that a 'Languages' menu. Check in the Languages menu that the correct language is selected.

  • OM: Disable auto refresh check box in Quick Sales Order Form

I didn't find the item in this form,
and i konw that there is a value which defined in the Profile : [OM: Quick Sales Order Form: Auto Refresh](ONT_QUICK_OE_AUTO_REFRESH).
Can anyone give me some suggestions?
    thx for ur help.

    hi,Pradeep
    Thanks for your reply.
Actualy, the profile "OM: Quick Sales Order Form: Auto Refresh" has been setted into 'Line' firstly as we want to auto-refresh order lines.
So the 'auto refesh' checkbox is checked with default value in the screen,
but the order line would not be auto-refreshed when user uncheck the checkbox manually.
So we want to disable or invisible the 'auto refesh' item in the screen with form personalize,
the problem is i can not find the item or the block in the form.
Or is there any suggestions to archive this?
    Can you please help me?
    Thanks,

  • Disable/configure spell checking??

    Hi,
a short question about system-wide spell-checking in Mac OS X... can it be disabled?? i don't really understand how it came to it, but now several applications (e.g. Adium, Safari) keep underlining all words in red... not that i'm particularly bad at spelling, only they're all assuming i'm typing in german!! the only reason i can think of which may explain that is that i actually live in germany, and i've set it up somewhere in my system. but since i'm often typing in other languages as well, it's not really helpful... i've checked the preferences in adium, safari, as well as the system preferences, and i haven't been able to find how to change that...
anyone has an idea? it's getting kind of annoying... :-\
    thx a lot!
    Pagod

    Caitlin,
Thanks for your answer! Since then, I figured out that I could change those settings in about:config by selecting them and pressing enter.
By the way I installed the nightly Fennec build, and it seems more responsive than the Firefox-named release version. It doesn't support the Adblock plugin, so that may be reason enough to switch back to the 1.0 version.

  • How to disable automatic spell checking on Firefox Mobile?

    Hello,
I installed Firefox onto my N900, and its spell checking functionality annoys me very much. I usually type in a language that it doesn't support, and even in English it sometimes underlines words which it doesn't have in its dictionary.
I know all I have to do is set "layout.spellcheckDefault" to 0 in about:config, but I can't do that... double clicking the setting name just zooms in and out, and there is no way to disable it (or I haven't found it) from the Settings UI.
Finally, I did it by manually editing the following file:
    /home/opt/mozilla/fennec-1.0.0/defaults/preferences/mobile.js
However, in my opinion, a simple solution should be presented for more casual users.
    == Extensions installed: ==

    Adblock Plus
