Disable autoconnect to ftp on startup

Hi! I've started using Dreamweaver CS3 recently and have
faced a very unwanted to me feature: I've added ftp servers to the
list in order to be able to open & edit files directly from
servers but every time I start DW it automatically makes
connections to all of them.
I don't like this for the following reasons:
*It slows down the startup. And the more sites I add the more
it slows obviously
*Why should I need to connect to all my sites at the same
time? That's nonsense! Maybe I've launched DW just to make an html
page locally.
So how do I disable this feature? Please help me, it's
extremely inconvenient! I like the software and it would be very
sad to stop using it just because of this small but irritating
issue.
Actually I'm suprised this feature is enabled by default and
I would be much more suprised if this feature can't be removed at
all! But I hope I'm wrong!

However, is it mentioned somewhere in the manual that enabling remote lock can cause this? Remote lock is such a great facility; having it to ask for lock code on each start-up is irritating

In BO 4.0 SP 9 when a administrator tries to schedule a report via CMC there is no error
But when a user schedules a report and the destination is FTP location -> Use default settings he gets following error

There is only one Job Server and the destinations are enabled in it
There is no Job server for Crystal Reports Job Server
Do i need to create it and how.

Please check if you have proper rights to schedule to FTP. You can create a new job server, whenever you schedule it, there are multiple job servers, it will handle based on the load. But it is not mandatory, depends on the load.

Hi, Are you using FTP inside or outside of Firewall. We are facing problems in ifs uploading when the users are outside of the firewall. This problem does not exist if we are using port 21, but since this is a well know port, we choose to use something else.
May be you can share with us on how to configure IFS to enable ftp ( except port 21 ) outside of firewall.

How do I disable the CC updater at startup??? I can't find any preference and I dislike being forced to connect with Adobe overtime I power on.

Open Creative Cloud desktop application, click on the Settings button at the right top corner, go to Preferences -> General Tab -> Settings and uncheck "Launch at Log in" option.

How to disable Leap Motion app from startup?

Hi, I installed the Leap Motion on my Mac running Mountain Lion. Whenever my computer boots up, the Leap Motion app automatically starts up as well. I tried checking the specific settings of Leap Motion but there was no configuration there. I also tried to look on the Startup Items (System Preferences > Users & Groups) but there was no entry regarding Leap Motion.
Is there another way to check how to disable this from happening?

Just rename from .plist to .bak - incase you would like to auto startup again.
I believe Leap Motion chose to use LaunchAgent rather than 'Login Items' is because they couldn't get it to startup all the time.

Disable Show content Guide at startup & Automatically update

Can I disable the setting 'Show content Guide at startup' from the 'Player Preferences...' menu. I know how to do it in the menu, but I want to change this option for 100 pc's at once.
Same problem for the 'Check for updates automatically' option in the 'Quicktime Preferences...' menu.

rEFIt will basically do the same as holding the option key,I believe it's defaulted(?) to give the boot screen when you cold start showing any available boot drives, but it won't help with Windows auto restart after updating. There may be an option to do so as there's a lot more to rEFIt then I use so you may be able to have it show up at restarts also.

Disabling auto units scan on startup. How?

Each time I open Logic 9 the Audio units manager scans and test all the units before it can load. The process takes about 5-10 minutes. After using it for 2 years it just recently starting doing this. Can this be bypassed? Is there something I've done to cause this to happen. Thanx

You can remove any unwanted plugins from the Components folder, thus speeding up the process. You can also disable any of them within Logic but these still scan on startup.
I know you can disable plugin scan on startup within Maschine for example, so having this option in Logic would also be nice.
I've never been able to find it.

In testing the latest 17.0.2esr I keep getting the plugin check at startup. Even logged in as a Standard user with no Admin rights I still get this page which makes no sense since Standard users do not have permissions to install software. This is supposed to be the Enterprise version of Firefox which in my mind means that all updates and controls are left to the dicretion of an Administrator and not an end user. Is this a bug in ESR? How do I eliminate this?

Can I disable the browse page on startup?

Is there a way to make Spotify start on my songs or stared page? The reason I ask is it takes forever for the browse page to load and I almost never use it for anything. On my home computer it takes a good minute or more to load when I know exactly what I want to listen to. I type the artist in search but get no results until this page loads. At work it's even worse. We use Websense, due to the extra lag caused by the filtering I often get Spotify is offline messages, I usually have to restart Spotify 4-5 times before it loads. BTW, I'm a network/systems admin, is there some whitelist or content gateway exception I can add in Websense for Spotify to increase performance?

It's been a while for me too running XP, but have you deleted the fingerscans data from inside the fingerprint application?
In Win7 there is a flag saying "Show at startup" (or similar), if the XP version has it somewhere too then try deactivating it as well.

Is Apple aware that upgrading to Airport firmware version 7.6.3 disables any internal FTP servers from getting past the router?

I have a ReadyNas that has been working flawlessly for several years which allows for FTP access. The Airport router was working fine with it until upgrading to 7.6.3, where upon nobody (including me) could connect from outside the network. I just reverted back to 7.6.1 and it works fine again. Has anyone else had this issue? Apple need to test their updates before putting them out!

Autoconnect bluetooth headset at startup

Hi Guys:
Perhaps this is an odd cuestion but: Is there a way to get mi mac mini to auto connect to my bluetooth headset? (I am using mac os 10.9.4 on my mac mini) y a belkin bluetooth audio receiver (its a pretty simple Bluetooth device for connecting to a home audio system).
On my old macbook, it connected automatically when available.
Any help would be appreciated.

At my current setup, there are no other devices trying to connect, and my old mac book (mentioned on my previos post) is not on.
The Belkin receiver, is dumb (no configuration can be done, just connect using a default 0000 pin). Its already paired and working on my current mac mini, but the only problem is each time I turn on the computer I need to connect to it. (No big issue, just i was confortable to auto connect)

Then that could very well be a problem with the Maps app. What are you seeing start up that you think is interfering? This is not like a computer where a number of apps load when you power the phone on. They start when you tap on them, they close when you tap on the home button. Try double-tapping on the home button, locate the Maps app and then swipe upwards on the thumbnail of the maps app to force close it. Then do a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. That can take up to 30 seconds. After the phone reboots, attempt open Maps and see what happens.

that limits the choices drastically
Best two solutions there are either StartupSound.prefpane of Psst, but both are additions to the System Preferences which could qualify them as 'tweaks'.
You might wanna try the 'Audio-Midi-Setup.app' from the Applications/Utilities folder and in the lower left click on the Mute-Button of the Master Volume.
But that will also mute all other sounds.
