Disable battery usage by app

With the iOS8 upgrade, I can now track battery usage by app, but is there any way to disable this feature?

Chris: The "Fed-Talk" list is an e-mail distribution list focused on the Government (Federal & DoD) issues related to using Apple products in those environments. As you might imagine, we have some security requirements that go above what Apple provides by default at times. You can find more info on these types of discussion lists at "lists.apple.com".
I hate to tell you this, but that information was already part of the diagnostics of the iPhone, and has been for years.  All Apple did was make that data viewable by the user.  It's still part of any diagnostics that are done from the iPhone.  Any time Apple does a diagnostic on your device, that information is part of the report.

  • WP8.1 35% battery usage in an hour

After installing WP 8.1, I'm facing a strange issue, I charged my phone to 100% about an hour ago, but now it shows 65% remaining.
The weird thing is, the new battery saver usage statistics shows really high battery usage for apps that i've never used after installing WP 8.1 update. And they are all background usages according to the battery saver.
Is anyone else facing a similar issue?

In battery saver usage statistics, Internet Explorer is on top and about 70% of it's battery usage is in background.
2nd one is the default Camera app, 100% in background
3rd app on the list is Angry Birds GO, 100% in background
4th one is google mail account,
5th is a TV app, i dont even remember when i've installed it
6th is OneDrive, 100% background usage but background usage of the app has been disabled.
7th is Speedtest.net app, I've used it a couple of weeks ago, that's all
I've used a few apps after installing WP 8.1 preview and IE is one of them, the other apps that I've used was at the bottom of the list, that's really weird.

  • Battery Usage Screen won't display any (app) data

    Hi Folks.
I was so lucky that I've got a new iPhone 6 just 20 mins after inital sales here in Germany. On my way to the office in the morning I checked the device, and I really liked the Battery Usage feature. Waited so long for that. However, back in my office I connected the device with my Mac to install my last backup from my old iPhone 5s. That worked as designed, pretty good and without any issues.
But now the Battery Usage Screen that can be found under Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage is empty. I only see a switch between the last 24 hours or 7 days, and thats it. There is a hint saying that I have to use the phone for a few minutes unless data is available, but I used it quiet a lot in the last two days Reboot haven't worked, same with killing the Settings app.
Does anyone have the same issue? Google don't know anything yet, same with this board here.
    Thanks for any answer...

Mine started working today. I did reset settings in Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Settings. It took about 20 minutes for it to start working and I'm not 100% sure if this is what fixed but I thought I'd pass it along.

  • Settings app closes when trying to see battery usage

    Hello,
I keep getting constat "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped working" messages every time I try to check the battery usage. I have rebooted the phone, deleted the cache for the settings app - the issue remains.
    Please advise.

Does the same occur in safe mode?

  • Apple Watch iPhone app battery usage

    Hi Everyone,
Is anyone else finding that the Apple watch companion iPhone app is having a massive drain on their iPhone battery?
Since getting the watch, my iPhone is draining at about 2x the normal rate. When I go into the iPhone and take a look at the battery usage, it's the Apple Watch app that's absolutely creaming the battery.
As a bit of background, I expected this to be the case on the day I got the watch, given I was playing with it so much, but today, I've not done anything special on the watch or on the phone because I've had a busy morning. Even so, my iPhone will be drained by mid afternoon at the current burn rate.

Having the same issue. Burned through 50% battery without really doing anything. It definitely seems to be tied to how much you use the watch though

  • Yoga 10 - Battery Usage Figures Wrong?

    Hi.
In the Usage section of the Power MangerHD it has clock as the highest useage at 48% and MX Player Pro which i use all the time at only 3.9% why is this totally wrong see screenshot below.
    Thanks
    John.
    Win7 Lenovo Ideapad Z580 i5-3210m HD4000 Win7 x64 8gb 1600MHz Samsung 830 256GB SSD

    I second this motion:
The android clock in my Yoga 10 is reported to use as much as 39-40% of battery. One of the obvious things seems to be to turn off the android clock if it is not of use to me which it isnt really because my battery life is generally running at about 7 hours use which is far from the advertised 18 hour use. Turning off the clock might enable the battery to get a bit closer to lasting 18 hours.
    A coiple of questions:
    1. If i turn off the android clock will it disrupt the system or is it literally just the clock in the top right hand of the screen ? I don't use any timer based system settings at all. The warning box when you click 'force quit' in the clock settings does say 'doing this might cause the app to misbehave' which is onimous. Has any one turned off their android system clock or have any knowledge of what might be effected by doing so ?
2 The clock's settings isnt located in the settings>apps bar so it must be part of the android system.
I find i can only get to the clock settings by clicking on the clock bar in the above screen cap - where it is indicated insettings>  battery usage .  If i force stopped or disabled the clock it would no longer appear in settings>battery usage and therefore i would not know how to access the clock settings - SO where are the clock setting's permanent location ?

  • Which Is the Best App to Show CPU Usage by App?

ActMonitor by Aeonika ($.99) and System Activity Monitor by Recession Applications LLC ($1.99) are the 2 activity monitors with 5 star ratings.  However, the info available for each in the App Store and their websites failed to show whether either measured each open and background apps CPU usage individually.
Knowing that info is the only way we'll get to the bottom of iOS 7.1's higher battery usage.
Does anyone know of a CPU usage monitor that does give us individual app CPU usage?

  • IPhone 6 Battery Usage function not working

Battery Usage feature continues to read; "Battery information will be available after using iPhone for a few minutes" even though I have now had the phone and used it for one week. Using iPhone 6, 64G, IOS 8.0.0.(no iOS updates have yet been applied)
A few days ago I attempted some suggestions posted by others. One of those was to let the battery drain to zero then fully charge. This had no affect on the Battery Usage feature. Another suggestion that i tried was to close all open apps on phone, then shut down phone and then turn back on. This did not resolve the Battery Usage issue either.
Is apple aware of this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello.
I have the same problem. iPhone 5, iOS8.0.2, used for a few days - still no usage statistics, only "Battery information will be available after using iPhone for a few minutes".
I tried restore iPhone (DFU) without restoring backup from iCloud/iTunes, resets, hard-resets, erase all settings, drain battery to 0% and charge to 100% overnight etc. - nothing helps.
I wrote to the Apple about this problem.
Here is the page that you can use to contact with Apple and report a bug - https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Please, give the title of "iOS8 battery usage statistics not working" (or something like that), choose the "Bug report" and describe the problem. Perhaps it will make that Apple will eliminate this problem in the next version of iOS. More report - greater chance.

  • IOS 8.1.2 safari battery usage

Ever since updating to iOS 8.1, my iPad battery life has declined to the point that i have to recharge every day.
the only things i use my iPad for are safari, Facebook, google play books, stock music app, and youtube.
I've checked battery usage, and safari has 90 percent of the battery usage.
i have also factory reset the device, tried to keep screen brightness below 50 percent, and shut all apps, but that makes no difference.
i have also updated to iOS 8.1.2, and it made no difference.
am also considering a nexus 9

i have same problem, than battery percentage jump from 60 to 45 e in this way my problem is very bud. ios 8 last update is installed on my iphone 5. i think that it is a bug software, and i think this because i called apple support and diagnostic realt time with operator say that my battery life is better. and after home button bug fixed with ios 8.1 now i have this. this ios 8 is the worse update ever.

Get the battery usage of single application programmatically in ios7 and later

Not natively with iOS. you might check the app store for a battery monitoring app, but to be honest, it you find one that claims to be able to do this, I'm nopt sure I would trust it.

like Diavonex stated, you could use an app created to check the battery percentage

why does the battery usage percentage not available in ios5.1.1???
and why is clock not available on ipad????

Because that is a decision the Apple made.  You can get the battery percentage (within 5%)  by using a free app such as BatteryLife Lite, but it will not show the percentage on the top of your screen.
