Disable Bluetooth running at startup.

How can i disable bluetooth running each time windows starts, as i want it _only sometimes_ - not always. My notebook is A200 23W and i have wi-fi always on.

There is a new Bluetooth stack version available.
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/?page=download
It has two new startup options
"Right click Bluetooth systray icon >Options > IT Admin > IT Security settings >Settings...>Limit Bluetooth settings".
Now you can decide if Bluetooth should always be disabled after startup.
"Turn off Bluetooth function on exiting Bluetooth Manager":
- This means you have to enable it e.g. by using the Bluetooth systray icon if you want to use it after the bootup
"Do not register Bluetooth Manager on startup"
- This option allows you to do not start Bluetooth at all after startup.
In this case you need to start Bluetooth from the Program folder in oder to use it.

  • Force bluetooth setup at startup

    I reset the SMC on my mini (brand new, running 10.6.2) hoping to disable the option to allow bluetooth devices to wake up computer, but now the mini won't pair with my bluetooth keyboard. Now I can't log in!
    The BT mouth works, though.
    Does anyone know how to FORCE the mini to run bluetooth setup at startup?
    I'm trying to avoid running out and buying a USB keyboard. So, I hope there is a way to run bluetooth setup again.

    well pressing the power button on the back of the computer should wake the computer up from sleep.
    as for pairing the keyboard. I would take out the batteries of they keyboard, hold down the power button on the keyboard, and then put the batteries back in, and turn it back on. make sure the green light flashes on the keyboard.
    you can delete the keyboard pairing in system profiler blue tooth. and then re-pair the keyboard.

  • How to disable Bluetooth Auto-Connect

    Hello Everybody
    I have a JBL Micro-Wireless Bluetooth enabled speaker.
    My Laptop model is Lenovo Thinkpad X220 running Windows 7.
    My laptop has Broadcom Bluetooth stack.
    Now, the problem is, whenever i turn on the speaker, my laptop connects to it immediately.
    But, It just shows as connected with JBL Micro-Wireless in Bluetooth Device Control
    The Bluetooth Hands free audio in Available Playback Devices be kept disconnected and i won't be able to connect to it.
    I won't be able to also disconnect the Bluetooth speaker in Bluetooth Device Control.
    I found that, Either if i disable the Thinkpad Bluetooth 3.0 device in device manager and enable it back or Uptick and Tick Audo Sink service in JBL Micro-Wireless properties dialog box in Sound, i can connect to the speaker manually and it starts working
    just fine and i can disconnect the speaker also any number times.
    You can blame the Broadcom Bluetooth Drive Stack for this issue, but i have tried using the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack too.
    You can now blame my JBL Micro-Wireless speakers for this issue, but, i don't have any problems with any other audio source.
    So, you have to give solution to disable Auto-Connect for my Bluetooth Speaker from my Laptop.
    My Bluetooth speaker don't have any interface to disable auto-connect.
    I have tried stopping both the Bluetooth Services in Windows Services to disable Auto-Connection, but it didn't help.

    Hi,
    Untill now, there is no effective method in Windows to disable Bluetooth device connect automaticlly. Here is another workaround method maybe helpful.
    That's using net stop/start service command to disable Bluetooth service.
    Firstly, you can access Services by typing services.msc
    command in RUN. Then choose Bluetooth service and change its startup type to
    Manual.
    Next time when you need using Bluetooth, just run net start bthserv in Command Prompt with administrator.
    The bluetooth should be work normally.
    When you didn't want to use it, just run net stop bthserv command to stop it.

  • Need help writing a script to delete a folder to run at startup

    I have no experience with this and need full assistance to set this up.
    I am hoping to write a script which can be run at startup on a single client machine which is giving me font trouble. Our client machines are network controlled by our server and have multiple users all in the Server user database.
    The fonts are behaving badly until we trash this folder HD>Library>Caches>com.apple.ATS
    On restart the fonts behave as expected.
    Can someone help me write a script or give me a command I can insert in a crontab with Cronnix to delete this folder at startup?
    Thanks

    They both work fine (read that as: it can be added into either place) While that message in crontab seems to intimate that Apple will do something drastic like disable or make it hard to run cron I cannot see how, cron has been in all *nix's since the beginning so to remove it would anger quite a few people...
    Having said that, If you want to make a launchd item you would put the below into /Library/LaunchDaemons/ create a file (call it someting memorable like 'Delete_com.apple.ATS') put this into it:
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    <key>Label</key>
    <string>Delete com.apple.ATS</string>
    <key>ProgramArguments</key>
    <array>
    <string>rm</string>
    <string>-rf</string>
    <string>/Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS</string>
    </array>
    <key>RunAtLoad</key>
    <true/>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    and finally load it...

  • Several programs are running at Startup

    Hi Everyone, I truly need your assistance as I am a novice to the internal workings (system Admin) of the computer (Windows 7). My computer is performing terribly and when I check the "troubleshoot" system it tells me that "SEVERAL PROGRAMS
    ARE RUNNING AT STARTUP". I know this a simple "fix" if you know what you are doing but I don't.  Please help me....someone.
    How do you know which programs are the ones needed at STARTUP?.
    Newcomer Bev

    It the Resume feature.
    When choosing Restart, Sleep or Shutdown there is a checkbox you can uncheck to prevent the apps from launching.
    Also in System Preferences > General there is a hard-to-find checkbox under "Number of recent items" you can turn off.
    Also, you can hold the shift key to disable resume on a one time basis.
    If you want to turn it off on a per app basis, (TextEdit is by example, replace TextEdit with the name of the app)
    Launch Terminal and copy/paste this at the prompt...
    defaults write com.apple.TextEdit NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false
    Press return.
    You can also accomplish this through the GUI by going to ~/Library/Saved Application State/TextEdit and delete that file…
    (note that the User Library is hidden - one way to get there is to go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library")
    To turn off Resume globally...
    chflags uchg ~/Library/"Saved Application State"
    Press return
    The reverse of the first one is to replace false with true.
    The reverse of the second one is
    chflags nouchg ~/Library/"Saved Application State"
    Again, you can accomplish this through Finder by going to ~/Library/Saved Application State and deleting the folder.

  • Howto disable Bluetooth Mouse search

    Hi,
    i'm using a Mac mini as Mediacenter without keyboard and mouse.
    How could i disable the search for an bluetooth mouse after startup?

    If you really want to turn off only the mouse search, but leave the search alone for other BT devices, that's something else. I don't think it's possible, since BT has to first discover a device in order to know what it is.

  • How do I completely disable Bluetooth Sharing without disabling bluetooth completely on Mac OS 10.7.2?

    I'm trying to secure my Mac Pro that is running 10.7.2 and the only thing left that I cannot get figured out is how to completely disable Bluetooth Sharing without turning off Bluetooth altogether.  Initially I thought that it was blocked in System Preferences -> Sharing unless you had an admin password, but it's the only option that is available no matter if the user is standard or admin.  Is there any way to completely disable this box from toggling on or off?

    Hi Adam, I see there are no replies to ur question. I have the same problem. I can turn bluetooth sharing on or off without my admin password. Please reply if you have found a solution. thank you!

    Went to startup -then to all programs.
    Clicked on windows defender, next click on tools.
    click (ck) on software Explorer. next go to the category box and select startup.
    All the programs at startup will be listed with either permitted or disabled!

  • Disable Bluetooth Option

    Our company deals with audio/video media provided by content providers and per MPAA guidelines we need our macs configured where no media content can be copied/transferred out of Macs via External Drives, Wireless, Bluetooth etc.

    Hi,
    For Bluetooth devices, try this :
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd252791.aspx.
    If it doesn't work, You may also try to use GPP Services to disable the Bluetooth Support Service (BthServ).

  • How to disable the run-time popup menu in the sequence display on TestStand Operator Interface, that allow the use to skip the test?

    How to disable the run-time popup menu in the sequence display on TestStand Operator Interface, that allow the use to skip the test?

    Hello,
                  Regarding the skip/force pass/force fail options, when I set the ControlExecFlow to True in Teststand 3.1 and 3.5, in the Sequence Editor the menu options for skip/force pass/force fail are not active for Technician but, when I launch the Operator Interface logged with Technician the options are active. The problem is that if the technician sets one step to one of these options, and change the user to Operator, the test step remains skip/force pass.
                  Is there any possibility without modifying the Operator Interface (at programming level), to reload default values of the steps when changing the user to Operator?
    Thank you,
    Best regards,

  • Need to disable Bluetooth

    I have a customer who needs to disable Bluetooth on his new Macbook Pro for work in a security zone. We have renamed the IOBluetoothFamily.kext and IOBlutetoothHIDDriver.kext files (System/Library/Extensions) but the device can still be turned on in System Prefs. We need to be able to disable the ability to turn Bluetooth on most of the time, but have the ability to turn it on again when in a non-secure zone.
    We need to do the same with the internal Mic...suggestions?

  • Disable BlueTooth and WiFi

    How do you disable Bluetooth and wifi without physically removing the components?

    To disable Bluetooth: Open System Preferences, click on Bluetooth. You can then turn it off.
    To disable AirPort (WiFi): Go to the AirPort menu and turn the AirPort card off.
