How can I disable a button in JDialog box when the text field is empty and enable it when the user gives some input.

You will have to use a keyListener since the use is not able to type into a disabled TextField. Listen for KeyEvents, if you get one enable the TextField a fill it with the char of the pressed key.

How do you do this in office 2010? Where do we go now?
This used to be under the Tools menu in previous versions:
On the Tools menu, click Mail Merge.
In the Mail Merge Helper dialog box, click Merge.
NOTE: You must select the main document and data source for the merge before doing step 2.
In the Merge dialog box, under When Merging Records, click either:
Don't print blank lines when data fields are empty.
-or-
Print blank lines when data fields are empty.
Click Close in the Merge dialog box, and then click
Close in the Mail Merge Helper.
NOTE: If you made no changes in the Merge dialog box, the
Close button is not available. Click Cancel instead.

Mail Merge Helper to the Quick Access bar, and perform the steps then.
To add the
Mail Merge Helper command in the Quick Access Toolbar in Word 2007, follow these steps:

In Word 2010, click File > Options > Customize Ribbon.

Click

I need to disable button when user clicks the record which contain the value 'No'
My scenario

3            YesThe button should get enabled for the first record which contain value 'Yes'

First get the selected value in bean and set it to String attribute,in your value change listener.

Report error when using combo box and one text field is empty

I'm building an interactive pdf in adobe pro 9. My problem is the following: I have one text field where you can enter a numeric code and that is used to populate another text field when I choose an option on one combo box.For example: suppose I write the code 123 in the text field "A" and that the combo box has two options ("data" and "-"). When I select "-", another text field "B" is empty, while when I select "data" i populate the text field "B" using the code entered "A" with the text "data_123". In order to do this I use the standard javascript code in the Format>Custom tab of the combo-box.
My questions are:
- how can I prevent the pdf to proceed selecting an option in the combo box when the field "A" is empty?
- how can I update the field "B" every time that I change the text in "A"? I found that the text is "B" is updated only when I press the selection in the combo box.

You can set the combo box to read-only in the Validate event of the A field:
// Validate script for text field

To update the value of B when A changes, you can expand the script above to something like:

You might also want to reset the combo box somewhere in there, but it's not clear to me when you would want to do that.

How to make a text field become empty when clicked in.

I have an input textbox, if the user clicks 'submit' and the
box is empty, it returns "please type answer here" in the input
box. Is there a way to make it so when the user clicks in the input
box it will turn back to blank and be ready to type instead of
having to select the existing text and delete it?

yep, use the onSetFocus method.
my_text_field_instance_name.onSetFocus = function() {
my_text_field_instance_name.text = "";
but be careful here, because if the user fills in there info,
then clicks off the text field then back on, the text will
disappear, you will need to use a combo with onKillFocus or an if
staement.... play with it. its real simple

I want to make a TextField with prompt message but The problem with google code was that the prompt msg is shown only when The textField is not clicked, I want to show the prompt msg even when the text field is clicked,when I type a letter inside the textField it vanishes and when i delete all of it, I'll see the prompt msg again and I want to Load the cursur at the text field when the page is loaded, How can I achieve that?

I guess its a very simple problem yet I don't know why I am getting so complex.
I have faced certainly a nice problem, it sometimes works and sometimes doesnt,
when I run from the flex bulider it works, If I click on the html file it doesn't.. It may happen it wont work again in future.

Radio button to text field

Hi there,
I have a (probably) easy question to answer for a programming newbie.
I have a radio button - it says are you left or right handed - so two options: left and right - I have also changed their values from 0 and 1 to left and right. I've called the object name: 'handed' and set it to global data
On another part of the form I would like an uneditable text field that says: this person is ... handed
...so in other words there's a gap where I want the text to say 'left' or 'right' - I've also given this field the name 'handed'.
It almost works, but instead of showing the name I get the value (ie. 0 or 1) - can anyone help me to change the value into the text?

well, I don't know what I did wrong before, but this time round I changed the values from 0 and 1 to right and left and lo and behold it worked - so didn't need to resort to coding for this one.
However, before doing that I tried what you said above but couldn't get it to work - am I missing syntax here - not sure. Also, wasn't sure when the calculate event would happen. Ie. is it instantaneous with when the user clicks on the radio button to make the selection, or does the event need to be triggered somehow - eg. using a button on click etc.?

Help with cfinput radio button and text fields

I have a series of radio buttons that allow a user to select
monetary values but I also want them to be able to define an amount
if they choose so. I was planning on doing this by providing a
radio button with the value of other and then using a text field to
allow the user to enter the monetary value. The problem with this
is that they might enter a user defined monetary value but forget
to set the radio button to "other".
I was hoping that I could set the "other" text input field to
read only until the point that the user selects the "other" radio
button. Is there a way to do this using onSelect or another method.
Or is there a better way to approach this problem? Thanks for any
help or advice in advance.

Hi,
You could call a js function which will select the radio
button "other " when the user types something in(there are various
events on cfinput). This way the user will not have to worry about
selecting the radio button and your requirement will be satisfied.

Disable button when no records in multirecord block.

In a tabular multirecord block we have a button that will open another window for the selected row. The problem is that when there are no records in the multirecord-block, the first line is still selected, and the pushbutton is enabled. This will cause an error when the user press the button when there are no records. Adding code to the button will of course take care of the error, but it is still enabled. How do we disable the entire line when there are no records?

Why many zero are returned when a field is empty

Hi,
I am using sapjco 2.1.8 in my Java code to call a BAPI function (rsz_x_component_get).
When executing this bapi function in SAP GUI, I can see one field is empty, and it's defined as as 70 characters. However, in Java code what I received is "000000000", while I should receive an empty string, "".
Does anyone know why the empty string is transferred into a string containing many zero?

Disable Button when no rights to enter Form

I have a form which i can open from another form with use of a button.
The problem is:
One of our users have the rights to enter form1 on but not to enter form2 through menu. But on form1, i have a button to goto Form2.
Now i want to know how to disable this button when she enters form1. We tried to use a get_menu_property procedure. Does anyone knows a code to disable a button.
Our code is:

After experimenting with it for a bit, it seemed that it might be related to widow/orphan control, but it occurs even with widow/orphan control turned off.

For the rendered property of the Edit button ,Bind it to the iterator like (bindings.SatAppliViewObj1Iterator.currentRow!=null).thats it, now the button will only be rendered if the table has some records.Have a lot of facilities ,but no proper giude to enunciate them...So guys please keep sharing ur experiences with us ..

Copy Button for Text Fields

I have created an Acrobat form that contains both company information fields and location information friends. In some cases these fields duplicate, but in most they are different. I would like to create a single "same as" button to copy all the company information over to the location information fields at one time. I need some help. How do I code a button to do this?

When I list your code on multiple lines, inserting the appropriate field names and running the button, the only data that copies over is the first line that’s listed in the script. Below is what I’ve entered:
getField("locname").value = getField("custname").value;
getField("locaddress").value = getField("custaddess").value;
getField("loccitystzip").value = getField("custcitystzip").value;
getField("loccontact").value = getField("custcontact").value;
