Disable Energy Save on HP C310 to solver eprint connectiion issues

How do I disable Energy Save in a new C310 to stop the connection drop issues.  This appears to be the workaround solution to the problems previously posted on this site so far.  However, the only option I can currently find is a 15 minute delay.
I dont want to have to end and restart wireless every time I want to use this feature.

What you will want to do is make sure the printer is fully updated with the most current firmware follow the steps below.
1. Open http://support.hp.com/
2. Enter your printer model in the "Locate your product to get support"
3. Select Drivers, and then select your operating system
4. Click on Fimware, and then download the firmware
5. Once it has been downloaded you will then need to run the file to update the printer.

    I do apologize that you are having this issue with your printer. Below are a few steps that should help you resolve your issue:
    Touch the Setup Button on the printer.
    Use the right arrow button to scroll to the right until you see "preferences"
    Press "OK"
    Use the arrow keys to scroll until you see "Energy Save Mode"
    Press "OK"
    Use the arrow keys to scroll to "OFF"
    Press "OK"
    If you printer has not gone back to the home screen press the "HOME" button (picture of a HOUSE)

    Dear all,
    I recently had my IT people do a clean install 10.9.4 on a new SSD drive in my MacPro 3.1. After realizing that it goes into sleep at night, I wanted to change the power management settings in "Energy Saver", however, all be hold, it is not in System Preferences. The com.apple.PowerManagement.plist file is there and I changed the setting using sudo pmset -a sleep 0 and pmset -a disksleep 0. I will see tonight if it goes to sleep. But anybody have any idea where did my Energy Saver tab go. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Good point, I did not check that, but now that I did, no it is not there. Spotlight search also does not find it. Is it possible not install it in the fist place. My company has green energy requirements so they force all hardware to go to sleep. I wonder if they disabled it somehow. When I asked them about it they were not aware of such a practice, disabling Energy Saver, that is.  Very strange to me.

    I keep seeing versions of this same question, and it's always the same answer: it's the TV. Well, it happens to me as well. But it only happens when viewing programming via Apple TV. My cable is totally fine: no dimming. Only with Apple TV. So what's the answer?

  • Mac Sleep Timer (through 'Energy Saver' in System Preferences) won't work

    I have a MacBook (13-inch, Mid 2009) running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3,
    and it has been installed with the latest software updates possible.
    (The latest update is the 'Security Update 2010-003')
    Previously I was using Mac OS X Leopard 10.5 on my MacBook,
    and I can vaguely remember the timed computer sleep through Energy Saver would work.
    That is, when the counter's time matches the amount of time I specified (e.g. 10 minutes), the computer enters sleep mode and displays a pulsing power light.
    After upgrading to Snow Leopard I can barely remember the scheduled computer sleep will work as I don't really notice how it sleeps / I will shut down my MacBook before I go to bed.
    ==========
    However, last night I was really tired and slept in front of my MacBook unconsciously.
    When I woke up, I found that my MacBook didn't display a pulsing power light but a continuously-growing power light.
    I tapped the trackpad and the display turned on, so I knew that my MacBook didn't go to sleep a whole night.
    *What that means is that the Sleep Timer (through 'Energy Saver' in System Preferences) won't work.*
    But the timed display sleep DOES work.

    After spending a whole day Googling,
    I found that there are plenty of people suffering the same problem as me, although their Macs and OSs vary.
    I also found an official support page from Apple concerning the related issue:

    I tried the following methods but still can't resolve the problem:
    _- boot my MacBook in safe mode_
    _- use the 'Disk Utility' to repair Disk Permissions through booting my MacBook from the Mac OS X Snow Leopard Installation DVD_
    _- reset NVRAM (Intel-based) (as PRAM is used by PowerPC-based Macs)_
    _- reset SMC (System Management Controller)_
    NONE of the above-mentioned methods can resolve the problem.
    Althought I am sure that the Spotlight isn't indexing the hard drive, and I just start my computer and do nothing and wait for the scheduled computer sleep, the scheduled computer sleep just won't work.
    In the other Mac forum, I saw someone suggest installing an application called PleaseSleep:

    It works.
    But I really want to find out what caused this problem as this is a function shipped with Mac which is expected to work normally.

    Found this discussion by googling "com.apple.systempreferencescouldn't find any matches"...
    One month ago I bought a brand new Macbook Pro 13", and after a couple of weeks I realized it wasn't sleeping on its own when it should, per the system preferences. (I did sleep when I chose "Sleep" in the menus or closed it... It just wouldn't sleep on its own, while open.) What was extra frustrating was that it was intermittent... It would sleep on its own maybe 1/3 of the time, but other times it would NEVER go to sleep. I deleted PowerManagement.plist, reset the SMC, etc... No luck.
    I took it to the "geniuses" at the Apple Store, and the guy took all of five minutes trying to diagnose the problem. When my MBP wouldn't sleep on its own, he promptly replaced it with a new one. That was nice, but I actually would have preferred that he diagnosed and fixed it. (I think the store was so swamped with people coming in for service that day that they were doing anything they could to close cases and get customers out of there ASAP.)
    Now, sitting here with my 48-hour-old MBP, I still have the problem. The other one was so new that I had barely put anything on it yet. The only applications I had put on it were MS Office for Mac 2011, Firefox, Chrome, and Adobe Flash Player. I've put Office and Flash Player on this one, but not yet Firefox or Chrome. That's it. No other customization or fancy business.
    I looked into the Console just now, and I see the "Couldn'tfind any matches" entry popping up again and again. The last three seemed to pop upright around the time when my MBP should have gone to sleep on its own, but not down to the second, so it's hard to definitively point at that and say it's it for sure.
    They need to fix this!!

  • How do I save changes to "Energy Saver" that stay in effect after rebooting.

    I have changed the sleep settings for the hard disk and display for my iMac but after I shut down and the start up again, the settings are back to the default settings.  How can I save these changes and avoid having to do this change every time I boot up?

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
    Set the Energy Saver preferences the way you want them.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Check the settings while in safe mode. Have they been reverted? If so, set them again. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • How to disable screen saver altogether ?

    I'd like to disable screen saver so that my screen goes black during non use (especially at night). Just don't seem to find the right place to do just that

    Go to System Preferences > Energy Saver and under the Sleep tab is the selection for putting the display to sleep when the computer has been inactive for selected period of time.
    If you select the screen saver to run after 15 minutes, you can select 1hr to put the display to sleep as an example.

  • Disabling Energy Saving Whilst in Front Row?

    I have noticed that when playing music through Front Row in Leopard that it still utilizes the energy saving methods so will go to sleep after my set period of time, It only does this in Music as it will play DVD's with no interruption. Is there anyway to disable energy saving methods when in front row so that it will not go to sleep until i am back onto the main window?

  • Mac does not sleep after setting Energy Saver settings

    Hi, got a slight problem after installing Leopard. The thing is that my Mac seems to ignore the settings specified in Energy Saver Preference Pane, the screen is put to sleep as it should, that's working fine, but the computer does not go to sleep when designated. I can put it to sleep manually (or by using Schedule) but setting an inactivity time doesn't work.
    No visible console messages or similar, no external HDDs or other external devices, no bluetooth, no file sharing, no bad apparent application/process running, no spotlight indexing, as you see I have tried a few things to fix the problem...
    Any ideas of how to fix this problem would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Ok, seems like I fixed the problem, the numerous things I tried must have solved it, probably the SMC or PRAM/NVRAM fixed it, though I'm not sure, but anyway it's working now, so I'm good.
    And to asphotos: No I don't have any printer at all, and I don't use airport, not sure what caused the problem really, just appeared after Snow Leopard install... Thanks for the tip though.

  • Energy Saver - timer on putting the computer to sleep doesn't work anymore

    After a major crash on my iMac G5 (iSight), my iMac has stopped to go into sleep mode automatically after a set time. Think it is was a crash after using aperture and connected to a Sony K700i phone. Tried disconnect all the USB device and deleted some configuration files uder "Library\Prefrence\", but still no sign of getting my iMac back to normal, does anyone has any ideas or suggestion to diagnosis the problem or to fix it.     Other than gpco gsx excellent suggestion, you can try to reset your SMU...
    Also, go into system preferences and make sure your settings are being memorized, sometimes you might find they somehow changed for some unknown reason. I suggest you disable screensaver by setting to 'NEVER', and disable 'Automatically Reduce Brightness...' in Energy Saver > Options... see if it helps.

    Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

  • OSX 10.4.11 doesn't recognize APC Back-UPS BE550G, no UPS tab appears in Energy Saver panel, how can I get safe shut down at power outage?

    Can't figure out how to solve this puzzle: the battery backup [APC Back-UPS BE550G] doesn't show up in the Energy Saver pane in a UPS tab nor beside the clock and Spotlight; will the (1 min. then shutdown) settings of the Saver be supported by the APC battery if there is a power outage or significant surge?
    This new back-ups came in a box stating compatibility with OS 10.3.9 – 10.4.9. Am I out of luck with 10.4.11? Isn't the OS itself able to set prefs for an UPS?

    did you install software and if so, where did you get it? I am running 10.7.4 and when the unit is plugged in via the ethernet usb cable, I can see ups in the control panel, but have no other control. I am media managing a television shoot and we need to set up our workstations pronto.

  • Energy saver settings won't stick

    I've set my iBook to NOT dim the screen prior to going to sleep. I've also disabled the screen saver and have set the display to sleep after 1 hour. Still, the screen dims (not much, but noticeably) after just a couple of minuts of inactivity. It seems that the energy saver settings have no effect. Does anyone else see this behavior?

    Keep in mind that the "Energy Saver" lock is the same lock as all the other system Preferences locks. If one is unlocked they all are.
    My Macbook never has gone to Sleep on it's own, ore rarely if at all. I have attributed it to a 56 dialup accelerator that I use as that program also causes it to take about 31 seconds to go to sleep any time you manually select Sleep from the menu. I just point this out because maybe you have some application that is causing a problem with Sleep.

    I'm doing ~4 hour upload.
    If this is all that's going on, is the computer considered "inactive" causing it to go to sleep after the specified time in system preferences->energy saver?
    If the computer does go to sleep then there are the following questions:
    a. Will the upload continue while the computer sleeps?
    b. Is there some risk that the sleep will also turn off the airporter?
    c. To improve the probability of not have any side effects from the computer going to sleep, should I disable this feature during my long upload?

    Greetings and welcome to the Apple boards.
    a. The computer should not go to sleep if a download is occurring. The screen saver may kick in, but the network activity should keep it from actually sleeping.
    b. Sleep probably would turn off the AirPort card.
    c. Definitely you can do this.
    As an experiment, set the computer to go to sleep after 5 minutes or so, start a download and see what happens.

  • C5 doesn't switch back from energy save modus when...

    When the battery is low the c5 auto switch to energy save modus. When you charge the phone it normally switches back to regular modus. Now it is only possible when I reset it to factory settings each time. The problem started after the last update. Does anybody have the same problem? Or does anyone know how I can do this manually.

    Fantasy thank you for response. I wonder if someone from BlackBerry is actually working on solving this. Another Z10 user said he was able to avoid the battery pull by just turning wifi off when he went out of wifi coverage. I haven't personally tried this solution though.
