Disable EPMA 11.1.1.3

Hi,
My problem is that EPM Workspace Login Is Slow.
I saw on the support web site that if i installed EPMA and i don't start it, i have to disable it in CMC. [ID 1127024.1]
But how can i do that ?

Creation of virtual directory for EPMA during 11.1.2.2 configuration

Hi Experts,
I was trying to install and configure the EPM 11.1.2.2 products on a POC machine with Windows 2008 R2. I was able to install and configure some products and i was facing issue with the EPMA configuration where it struck during "Creation of EPMA virtual Directory". I can see the virtual directory created but not sure why this is not finishing up and just struck at this level, deployment is all fine. Attached the config log for any reference
I have enabled Windows authentication in IIS 7 and disabled Basic authentication
Please let me know if anyone has come across this issue and thanks for your help

Have issue's with EPMA 11.1.2.1 config on windows 2008 R2 64 Bit ,

EPMA Hanged during deployment 11.1.2.0

Hello all,
I have a EPMA deployed application in verison 11.1.2. I added metadata to my application & validated my application without any error. I tried deploying it & selected outline refresh option. I went to job console & in summary its showing:

Hello,
you cann't kill the deployment, there is a timeout setup for 480 min. After the deployment will be available you can change this timeout, and set in lower.
Look in the configuration file here %APP_SERVER_DEPLOYMENT_DIR%\EPMAWebServer\applications\EPMAWebServer\awb\WEB-INF\conf\AWBConfig.properties
the setting called DEPLOY_PENDING_TIMEOUT_MINUTES.

EPMA Windows Services not starting

Before you all jump on me, I've read almost all of the threads and documentation concerning this issue that are out there. I've checked the databases and they are configured appropriately, I've checked the IPv6 settings and they are ok. this EPMA installation is on a windows server 2008 r2 platform, Planning and other components are installed in a LINUX environment. You should take a look at the *"Database Installation"* part from the Installation Start here guide since if you are using Oracle Database to configure the EPMA components you need to install the Full Oracle Database Client since the PATH variable includes the path to the /bin folder for the Database client.
Following is from the installation start here guide for EPM 11.1.2.2
Install the full Oracle Database client on the following machines before you start your installation of EPM System products:
Performance Management Architect Dimension server.
Note:
1. It is important to install the full database client as part of the installation because the PATH variable is updated to include the path to the /bin folder of the Oracle client.This setting is required for successful configuration.
2. If you are using Oracle Database 10.2.0.4+, you must use a minimum of Oracle Database client 11.1.0.6.0.
3. Performance Management Architect and Financial Management both require that a 64-bit Oracle Database client be installed.

Shared services registration failing during configuration of EPMA 11.1.1.3

Hi All, I am currently woking on essbase and no knowledge of planning so trying to upgrade my knowledge. I installed epma 11.1.1.3 on windows 2003 VMware work station as I have windows 7 laptop. installed oracle 10g created a database (epma) created user/schemas (sm,ms) trying to configure foundation services, essbase, planning and reporting and analysis. the configure database and register with shared services failed. Am I doing anything wrong. I followed some documents for configuration which are well documented with screen shots still do not know what wrong I am doing. Cannot Delete / Validate / Deploy Essbase (BSO) application [EPMA]

Hi All,
I deployed a Essbase BSO application from EPMA (11.1.2.1) and got a successful result. I have made a minor change and want to deploy the application again but all the options for Duplicate / Delete / Validate / Deploy / Compare are disabled.
I have tried this on two separate instances with the same result.
- I have restarted the services already.I also ensured that no ESSSVR service was running when I had shutdown all the services.
- I have also checked the timeout period to ensure that it is not a timeout issue.
Does anyone have any clue as to why this might be happening. I was given a suggestion that the Relational Schema for EPMA might have certain flags that may be blocking this. Any ideas on which tables / columns I should look at?

First check the application diagnostics to see if anyting is amiss. Go to Application Library, right-click on the application and selecxt "Diagnostics".
Run all the diagnostics. If a diagnostic test fails, Performance Management Architecxt provides an automated solution or manual steps to resolve the problem. Your security role must be EPMA Administrator to run them. Which also makes me think that it's possible that your security has been changed so you no longer have access to the app. Has someone changed your security? Did you create the app under a different ID?

Re-deploying Essbase application with EPMA version 11.1.2.

Hi everyone.
We recently upgraded to Hyperion Planning 11.1.2 and we are also using EPMA 11.1.2.
EPMA 11.1.2 is significantly different from 11.1.1.3 in several key respects, including the new synchronization functionality. What we're struggling with is figuring out how to re-deploy Essbase and Planning applications from EPMA. We've been able to deploy them the first time, since then we've made changes in the dimension library and we want to now re-deploy these modified Essbase cubes out to the Essbase server. In the old version of EPMA 11.1.1.3 I would just right click on the application in the App Library and select "Deploy | Refresh" and it would go do it's thing. Now in 11.1.2 EPMA, when I right click nothing happens. HELP!

Hi Tom,
Frankly speaking, I did not get when you said that nothing happens when you Right click the application in the App library.
Ideally, you would see the options as is, with certain options like " Validate, Deploy, Open" etc to be disabled.
You might need to provide the Application Manager role for the user for that particular application and then re-launch EPMA to view the enabled options.
Then, on right clicking the application and select Deploy option, you would view the options so as to perform a Re-deployment.

EPMA not starting

We are using 11.1.2.3 EPMA planning applications for our budgeting. Recently I applied an ADF patch 16709748.After that EPMA is not starting.It is showing the below error
Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed.

Description: An error occurred processing the result from the server.

The epma logs are showing the below error:

Antivirus uses epma's Dimension library port

Hello,
we just installed a new Antivirus and it seems like the port used by that software interferes with EPMA's Dimension and Application Libraries. These 2 time out wiyth 502 Proxy error when av is running. When i disable the av, both dim and app libraries open up.
Is it possible to change the port for both libraries? I went to the inetmgr, but did not find the location to change. Also, looked in the configuration, but did not see the port, i presume it's port 80 (default).
We are on 11.1.2.1, windows 2003 server. many thanks.

Another possibility is that the 502 (bad gateway) error is thrown as a security precaution because OHS is not configured to correctly proxy to the IIS server where epma is installed. You can get these errors if OHS is configured to proxy to SERVERA:80/hyperion-bpma-server and the server resolves to SERVERA.DOMAIN.COM or if you have the IP address instead of the hostname. The proxy setting can usually be found at the bottom of the httpd.conf file.

How can I disable sending from one Mail account?

Hello. I have a gmail account that I use to subscribe to various newsletters and accounts. So it's essentially a read-only account for me. But I too frequently accidently send mail from that account. Is there a way to prevent mail from being sent from that account?

I want to do the same thing as the OP. I have tried making outgoing server none. And checking "always use this server so it prompts me to edit the message so that I manually select a different address to send from inthe drop down list. And selecting a different account for composing. Actually, all my outgoing emails keep coming from the one account I am attempting to disable. Got any other ideas?

Not null and enable or disable column in tabular form

Hi,
Using apex version 4.1 and working on tabular form.
ACT_COA_SEGMENT_MAS is Master table
and
ACT_SEGMENT_VALUES_MAS is detail table
I have entered 8 rows in master table and PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is column in master table which is null able. If i specified PARENT_SEGMENT_ID with value in master table then in detail table there is column PARENT_ID that should not be null and enable.
How i can enable or disable column when in master table PARENT_SEGMENT_ID column is null then in detail table PARENT_ID column should disable and vice versa.
I have created tabular form on Detail table. before insert into the tabular form Check in master table in first entry if PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is not null in first row of master table then in tabular form PARENT_ID should enable and not null able in corresponding to this first row id's lines in tabular form.
Same should check for second row in master table if PARENT_SEGMENT_ID is not null then entered rows with PARENT_ID into tabular form corresponding to 2nd id in master table should not nullable and column should enable in tabular form.

You need to create you own manual tabular form and not use the wizard.
Using APEX_ITEM api you should be build you own form and you will be able to control how you wan to display the rows. (See Link [Apex Item Help|http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E37097_01/doc/doc.42/e35127/apex_item.htm#CACEEEJE] )

I'm a Java programmer and I'm sharing my files with my home PC, so I can work from my laptop or desktop easily without transferring files back and forth.
It's no fun adjusting my typing to multiple different keyboards for different PCs, and overall I tend to prefer a trackpad over a mouse for what I do which makes using my lenovo yoga keyboard ideal for everything (majority of wireless keyboards also aren't backlit).
I'm using the program Mouse without Borders (from the Microsoft website) so that I can use my lenovo yoga keyboard/trackpad on my desktop.
What I want to do: keep my keyboard and trackpad enabled when putting the yoga into tablet mode. I've already figured out how to disable the touchscreen for such uses, but the only way I know to keep the keyboard and trackpad active is to uninstall the synaptics driver/software. Obviously that isn't an ideal solution to have to install and uninstall it every time I switch between PCs.
Is there any way to stop synaptics from disabling the keyboard and trackpad when in tablet mode? Preferrably something such as disabling something in device manager, not uninstalling and reinstalling software depending my use for the moment.

First, I have no idea what "Jimi to Jimi" means. This is probably just something you need to explain to me; a Google search didn't turn up anything useful.
You said that the keyboard and trackpad aren't working right. What does this mean, exactly? Regardless, the monitor you use should have no effect on the function of your other peripherals.
