Disable Home Screen Lock

How do I Disable the home screen lock on my Touch 9800? In the Security settings > Password the lock icon is Enabled and can not be disabled! The only options are lock after 1, 2, 5, or 10 minutes. Is there a way to disable the lock feature?

If you are on BES, it may be forced by your BES Admins...you'd need to talk to them to see about changing it.
If you have activated Encryption/Content Protection, then the password is required to support that. You'd have to disable that in order to be allowed to also disable the password.

it makes the whole thing very cluttered - and whilst it may look like a feature and provide an extra selling point for marketing (which is why i'm guessing it's pushed forward) - it really decreases the phone's simplicity and usability.
please do consider this. I know you can remove it, but if you reset all the phones settings, it comes back.

Customising home screen locks up in itunes

Hi when customising my home screens on ipad the right hand home screen disapears ore locks up making it impossable to customise
sinc and add or remove appos works ok but not home screen
any ideas please

Oh... just to make it more bizarre, I have a second iMac and was able to set it up with Home Sharing but since it's not the main computer, I only get Music and Podcasts or something. Still attempting to figure out the other mess though.

If you have a passcode to the screen lock that you've forgotten, restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:

If that will not work, you'll need to put the iPod into Recovery Mode and then try the Restore again:

IPads home screen locked magnified

My iPad has been working fine for weeks and then about 20 minutes ago I opened it up to do some work and as soon as I typed in my pass code the entire screen became magnified. I am on the home screen right now and the icons are so large that only 4 of them (Youtube, Settings, Photos, and Contacts) can fit on the screen at one time. I have not installed anything today or done any activities out of the ordinary.
I have tried a power button reset and no luck. Tried a Home button + power button reset and that also failed. Any suggestions?

Home screen locked because of storage popup

I repeatedly receive "not enough icloud storage" popups and simply ignore them (I hit the cancel button on the popup so the popup disappears).
Somehow this popup occurred after the ipad became locked. Now I cannot access the screen below the popup to "slide to unlock" or to "slide to turn power off". I continuously hit the cancel or settings button on the popup but nothing happens. I'm assuming the popup will not work because the screen is locked, but the screen buttons cannnot work because the popup is in the way!
I went online to iCloud and reset my photo stream so I can have available storage but the iPad is still giving me the same problem.
I downloaded iCloud to my PC so I can manage my storage there but when I try to log on, it tells me there was a server error.
What is going on and what can I do? I do not have warranty because the iPad was a gift for me (they bought it used with just one month warranty left which expired).

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

Hey guys can someone tell me how can I do this thing on my iphone4? I just saw her lock screen looked like this. When someone texted him the name and message pops up along with the time and the senders picture on the side. Please please please tell me?

I've never seen this before. I don't believe there is a legitimate way to do that on the iPhone.

Well this truly *****. I was thinking about not jailbreaking now that I have an SBSettings-like shortcut, but if these are disabled, I will be jailbreaking for sure.

I talked to Apple today and was told that it's a "hardware issue" and they will not fix it. I will have to pay 169.00 to have it repaired because it is no longer covered. He told me that "the software update triggered a hardware problem" and that they haven't heard of this issue before either and this was after he went and "spoke with a senior service advisor". The thing is that if THEIR software update triggered the "hardware problem" meaning that if I hadn't updated at all my phone would be in perfect working order right now then HOW IS THAT NOT A SOFTWARE ISSUE?! I am beyond livid. I cannot continue using my phone with assistive touch, NOTHING else works and I know this isn't the first time they've heard of it because how can so many people be having this problem and Apple NOT be aware of it?! My family has bought three MacBooks, three MacBook Pros, one iPad, two iPad 2s, seven iPhone 3s, one iPhone 3GS, five iPhone 4s, two iPhone 4S, four Apple TVs, one Time Capsule and COUNTLESS versions of iPods and have never had an issue having any of them repaired and only four of those products had to be and it was a fast and hassle free...then again they all were covered still at the time of repair...
How do you restore to a previous firmware? I don't want a new phone...I want MY phone to work...the one that worked perfectly before their update....this is beyond ridiculous...I wish apple would take a look at their own support communities and see that this ISN'T our problem...it's a problem created by THEM.

Disable screen lock (SRSS 4.2)

I want to provide some users to disable the screen lock function so that they don´t need to enter there password if they unplug there smart card and plug it into another DTU.
I tried to modify the environment variable "SUN_SUNRAY_UTXLOCK_PREF" as it is described in the utxlock manpage but it doesn't work.

By default SRSS 4.2 does not use the normal X screen lock to reauthenticate after a hotdesk event. Instead it does what's called "Remote Hotdesk Authentication", which means that it performs the reauthentication in a new, completely separate session. This is because there are situations in which the X screen lock can fail to obtain its lock, leaving the session unprotected.
If you don't care about that then you can turn off the default RHA separate lock mechanism by adding the -D option to whatever arguments you're currently giving to the utpolicy command. After you've done that, and executed a cold restart of SRSS, the old screen lock behaviour should apply and the UTXLOCK_PREF setting should be honoured.

Cannot disable screen lock on my galaxy 4

When my Galaxy 4 was purchased I could disable the screen lock feature by selecting "None" from the various screen lock choices. Now, the "None" choice is not shown. Is there another way to disable screen lock?

THat is rather strange the option for none is no longer in there. Have you recently downloaded any new software or applications? DX650 - Disable Screen Lock

How can I disable the screen lock on the DX650 phone (CUCM 10.5)?
Users don't want to have to enter a PIN number to access the phone.
I have tried different settings of "Require Screen Lock" on the Device page, but no luck.

On the device settings do the following changes:
Display On Time: Change it to your office starting time or a bit earlier
Display On Duration: Change it to the end time of your office or a bit extra
Require Screen Lock : Change it to User Controlled>Check the Override Common Settings
Uncheck the setting: Enforce Screen Lock During Display-On TIme >Check the Override Common Settings
Restart the phone.
Now in the setting of the Android OS you will get an option to make it None. Also you can set a pin and then do a manual lock as required by pressing the lock button on the phone,

Well, read the article for sure. You really should at least skim through your User's Guide, also. iTunes didn't just download the Games Center app onto your iPad, and neither that app nor iTunes disabled anything.

recovery mode
open itunes on computer
plug cable into computer not phone
turn phone off
hold home button and plug cable into phone. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on device.
look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore
