Disable integrated graphics on Lenovo C200 AIO?

Hi, is there any way to disable / turn off integrated graphics (intel gma) and use only nvidia ion on my Lenovo C200 AIO? I know that some notebooks have this function in bios, but i can't find anything here. Thanks a lot for reply.

hey halfman,
welcome to the forums.
as i do not have this particular unit with me, i can't say for certain but usually this feature is to be done via the BIOS.
check your bios and see if it is at version : 14 .

  • Z77a g43 | i5 2500k | Disable integrated graphics

As the title states how do I disable integrated graphics from the bios on my z77a g43 motherboard running a 2500k. Finally got a dedicated video card Radeon HD 7870

Don't want it warming up the CPU (Overclocker a few degrees can make a difference ) and to get optimal performance out of my Radeon 7870.
And yeah the Radeon is already up and running.
So I'm guessing there's no way of completely disabling it from bios?

  • GX70 Disable integrated graphics?

Did some googling for ways to disable the 8650 on board graphics and some sources pointed towards BIOS, I had a look around in there and didn't see any such option.
Is there a way to turn off integrated graphics, I use my laptop plugged in 99% of the time so power consumption isn't an issue. I am applying for a beta and they want my dxdiag uploaded, would rather my dxidiag show my dedicated graphics however it is showing the integrated one instead.
    Any solutions I am missing?
    Thanks in advance.

    Ok, thanks.
Is there a way to confirm which graphics is being used by which application?
I know you can configure switchable graphics, but is there any way to confirm that the didicated GPU is being used by a game?
you can see it by power button if it's blue then it's using intel one if it's orange it's using nvidia one blue can be white as well depending on laptop.

  • How to disable iNTEGRATED graphics On the Y40? in bios

i want to fully disable the integrated graphics through bios. in the switchable graphics and uma, either use both or integrated basicly. how do i change it so its dedicated instead of integrated?

Good luck, but i dont recommend third party softwares to control the hardware of a laptop (especially the ones that have no reviews)
Chrome should work fine on an integrated chip, heck I could play games on the integrated chip back in 2006. I think your issue may be loss of performance in Battery mode.

    hi,
i have a problem installing an ASUS Geforce4 Ti 4200 AGP card into MSI K7N2G-L board, as my pc refused to boot with AGP card onboard. Is there any way of disabling the integrated graphics, as I did't find the option in bios.

    hi
to disable onboard gfx just install an agp card.
it is possible you did something wrong during the installation like not insert the agp card correctly or a cable got loose during the install or it could also be a hardware failure.
can you post the poweroutput on the .3v 5v and 12v rails on the psu.
    check for loose cables.
uninstall ALL gfx drivers before you change gfx card.

  • Disable integrated graphics on HP Envy dv6-7200ea

Hello. My laptop comes with two graphics. The intel hd 4000, and the nvidia geforce gt630m. I have searched for an option in the BIOS to disable the integrated graphics (intel hd 4000) with no success. I've set the global settings in the nvidia control panel to use the nvidia graphics card, but never-the-less, programs like PC Benchmark, emulators, games, editing software all use the intel graphics card. All intel and nvidia drivers are up to date. Any help on this matter?

I understand that you do not see an option in the bios to disable the integrated graphics.  This is not always an available option.  Sometimes a bios update will provide that option.  You can check the driver and software page for you notebook to check for a bios update or you can run HP Support Assistant  to help locate and resolve issues.

A  bios update does have the potential to cause damage, so you may wish to consider contacting HP support for assistance with that process.

  • NEED HELP DISABLING INTEGRATED GRAPHICS IN BIOS

Essentially the title is self explanatory. Im having issues with the options that the out of the box BIOS provides on the MSI GT70 0ND 444US, I cant find the options to turn the integrated graphics off because one of my programs is auto defaulting to the intell 4000 graphics rather than my Nvidia dedicated card in the laptop. Its causing issues with game play mostly low frame rate and bad quality graphics in the game. I don't know if i need to unlock or update the BIOS, generally just in the dark on the solution and iv tried a few things, but to no avail. If anyone Preferably a MSI tech specialist can help with this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

In the nvidia control panel you can add or remove what programs you want to run with the discrete graphics, you can also right click a program/app and click run with discrete graphics. I don't think you need the integrated graphics but I also don't think they give you the option to turn it off. I have a msi laptop as well and msi completely takes power usage out of the end users hands, my CPU was throttling to 800mhz and I contacted msi and they said I needed it to to that for battery saving, I told them I always have it plugged in and I want it running full tilt 100% of the time, my gpu was throttling as well. The problem is that it was throttling both even with it plugged in. I finally found a program that overrides that crap!! It's called throttlestop. Now my gpu runs where I have it set to run and I have 4 presets on throttlestop for what I want my cpu to run at, I can even keep it at max turbo speed if I want.

  • Disabled integrated graphics in Z50-70

    Hello there,
i flashed an unlocked BIOS (v26) to my z50 70 and disabled the igpu due to problems with optimus. As everyone else who did it, I ended up with a black screen. Could you please give me the keys I have to press to load default values in bios? Or guide me how exactly to kill my battery for a CMOS reset. Tried holding the power button for two minutes with ac disconnected, the bios battery can't be removed
    Thanks in advance!

It appears that is not the way to do it. Selecting the default graphic adapter "discrete adapter" I believe is what I had done in my T520. I am using a Z70-80 right now. With UFIE bios I don't mess with default setting unless it safe change parameter. Nvidia requires drivers to activate as well I am sure. The operating system you're using may be contributing to the problem and you have not specified your environment. It could be a bug in that bios which sounds like a non approved version. If that is the case there is no support.

  • G580 disable integrated graphics card

    Hi.
How can I make my laptop (G580) use just the dedicated graphics card ?  In BIOS I only have the options "Switchable graphics" and "UMA". I understood the latter stands for the integrated card.

  • As through the bios to disable the integrated graphics?

    Hello.
as through the bios to disable the integrated graphics in the laptop HP pavilion 17 e-011sr? or tell me the firmware for the bios on this model with switchable graphics

    Hi timon20025,
    Thank you for your query.
If there is not an option in the bios to disable the integrated, then it is not possible.
The latest bios is Version F.31, 9.16M, which you can get from HP Pavilion 17-e011sr Notebook PC Drivers page.
Here is a link to Updating the Bios for your convenience.  I suggest contacting HP for the Bios update as it does have a potential to cause damage.

  • Disabling the integrated graphics card or updating any software they use that will aid the computer in switching between the two graphics chips.

So I couldn't activate Assassin's Creed 3 on bootcamp which I shuold have been able todo. I posted it on Ubistoft Support and This is what I got!
    Hello ,
It looks like your DXDiag report is showing only an integrated graphics card. Being an Apple computer with an i7, it should have a dedicated video card as well. You may need to contact Apple support so they can help you either disable the integrated graphics card or update any software they use that will aid the computer in switching between the two graphics chips.
So I was wondering how I could disable the intergrated grahics card or update any software that will aid the ocmputer in switching between the two graphic chips.

The Early 2011 13-inch MacBook Pro has only got one graphic card, and this is the integrated card, Intel HD Graphics 3000.
Some games don't support this type of GPUs, and it looks like Assassin's Creed is one of them, so unfortunately, you can't run the game in this MacBook

    Hi,
I recently installed Arch on a Lenovo T410. Following the guides in various wikis (Archwiki, ThinkWiki) I was able to configure everything without too much troubles...
But I have the feeling that the the integrated graphics chipset is not perfectly handled. I get this feeling when I run glxgears:

    298 frames in 5.0 seconds = 59.490 FPS

    Thanks,

If your hardware is bleeding edge it's very likely to not yet be fully supported. In the case of Clarkdale/Arrandale i believe support is added in 2.6.33.
I suppose you could find that information by searching the forum for clarkdale, by browsing http://kernelnewbies.org/Linux26Changes or asking in irc / forums / usenet. But tbh i can't find much information about Clarkdale either.
For comparison though, i have ~800 fps on my Thinkpad X200s and 1100 fps on my i3-530 machine (Clarkdale) with kernel 2.6.32.10. Kernel 2.6.33.2-1 (testing repository) gives me ~800 - 900 fps.

  • How can I disable intel graphics? G570

    Hi!
I have a question like in the topic. I have a Lenovo G570 laptop with Intel HD integrated Graphics and AMD HD 6300M dedicated Graphics. I'm running on Win7.
I know that a similar topic was before and that the Intel graphic should switch to amd when necessary but I think it's not working right. The problem is with Skyrim. When I run the game's setup it automatically detects the configuration I possess and chooses the graphic options in the game. As You can imagine they are the lowest possible as it ONLY detects my intel graphic. The AMD adapter is not there (the list which appears to choose from does contain the intel only).
So, is there ANY way to just turn off the intel adapter and work on amd all the time? It would help a lot. I tried that in device manager but when I disable the intel graphics the screen resolution drops rapidly and aero theme from windows is being disabled. It sucks. As if I was forced to use the intel.
Can anyone help? I would sure appreciate that a lot.
    Thanks!

  • No DVI output with T420 on integrated graphics card and Mini Dock Series 3

Because of some application problems I have to set my new T420 to only use the integrated graphics card (disabling the NVidia Optimus feature). In this configuration I seem to be unable to use the DVI port on the Mini Dock Series 3, there is simply no signal and Windows reports that no monitor could be found. The VGA output works but the picture quality is quite bad.
Is this a known design limitation or do I deal with a driver issue?
    Thanks
    Dan

Yes, that works but there is the drawback of battery life. In the course of the day I often undock the laptop to go to meetings and using the discreet graphics card uses a lot more power and significantly reduces the time i can work without power. I would have to restart the laptop and change the setting in the BIOS after I undock, which is just not practical. For what I do I don't need the graphics power of the discreet card.
