Disable iPhoto Sync

How can the iPhoto sync be disabled. I want only to share photos through network streaming. This is not documented in Apple Support or the Apple TV manual/users guide. Somehow, I've got iPhoto in sync mode in iTunes. I want to disable this mode, then switch to streaming.

To stop the Syncing, do the following
Go to Mac HD
Go to Applications
Open image capture
Next to the apple icon in the top left hand corner click on image capture
Click on preferences
Change the top drop down box to no application

Try updating to iPhoto 9.4.1. If it's not appearing in your Software Update yet, try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the following page on the Apple website:

  • Multiple SIM instances on same db - disable Active Sync for one?

Hello. I am trying to set up two instances of Identity Manager that are running on the same machine and are connected to the same database.
I want one to be doing the Active Sync provisioning and the other to not.
Is there a way to disable Active Sync resources from starting up on one instance but not the other? I know I can manually start them, but I'd like the Active Sync resources to automatically start up for one of the servers.
I am using -Dwaveset.hostname and setting it to a different value for each instance.
    Thanks.

    Hi Laxman,
If its a testing purpose its ok to have a one oracle_home and single listener for multiple DB. One problem when applying oracle patches for one of the instances running in a multiple DB running then you need to bring all the DB running in that host since the oracle_home is sharing between all db instances.
    Thanks
Sunil Rajesh K.C.Starting with 11g, patchset updates are full installs and done into a new home. This makes it possible to migrate one instance at a time. However, your point would be a consideration for one-off patches like CPUs.
However, please note ... OP --- PLEASE NOTE even with multiple oracle homes, you still only need a single listener.

  • How to disable iCloud sync for a single app/game

Since I bought the infinity blade game for it, I have a problem. Normally, both my sons play games one on my iphone and the other on the ipad, Now, we found the game syncing without us telling it to over iCloud and both the devices behave as if the game continues from the previous player on the last played device.
Going through all the menus in icloud settings, there does not seem to be an easy way of disabling the game from syncing apart from disable all apps from syncing meaning all my Pages and Numbers documents wont sync.
I did try the game and the game forums itself, which does not have any way to disable icloud sync.
Both devices run the latest iOS and game updates. Can anyone help please.

Your client needs their own Apple Developer account.

  • Intermittent iPhoto sync problem

I've had an iPhone 4 for the past 4 months. Recently (around when I upgraded to iLife 2011), iPhoto sometimes does not "see" my iPhone. I'll plug it in, iTunes will open and start to sync, but iPhoto just sits there and the iPhone doesn't pop up in the side bar.
I've found that if I open up Image Capture and let it "scan" the iPhone for photos, iPhoto will recognize the iPhone when Image Capture finishes scanning. This takes about 5 minutes though, and is obviously just a nasty workaround.
Has anybody else experienced intermittent problems with iPhoto sync?
On topic feature request: I find that when iPhoto DOES recognize the device, the sync process is far from automated. It keeps asking me weather or not I want to import photos that have already been imported (why would I ever want to do that!?), and it then asks me if I want to delete photos from the iPhone as it imports. I think the default behavior should be like iTunes music sync. It just "updates" iPhoto with new photos, and leaves everything else alone. It would be nice to see this sync process built into iTunes so I don't have to worry about two applications syncing properly when I plug in my phone.

  • Can I disable auto-sync on Shuffel iTunes 7.3 Vista OS

It seems odd that everytime I make a change to a single song on my iPod, iTunes performs a sync.
For example, I want to uncheck several songs loaded on my shuffel, but iTunes performs a sync after each time I de-select a check-box.
Can I disable automatic syncing after each change to a song or podcast on my shuffel?
    Thanks

  • Disable vertical sync in fullscreen

    Hello,
I have a game that runs in both windowed and fullscreen modes. I am able to switch dynamically between them while the game is running. When in windowed mode, the game runs very quickly. When in fullscreen, it runs significantly slower. When it's switched back to windowed, it runs quickly again.
It's been suggested that the cause may be that the page flipping in fullscreen exclusive mode is based on the sync rate of the display. Is there a way to disable vertical sync?
    Thank you.

Are you sure that it's not the mechanism in which you are painting that is causing the slow down in fullscreen mode?
As for actually disabling vertical sync, I don't know if java can do that. I'm not even sure if it's enabled, or if there's any way to query if java is doing vertical sync or not. I am curious, though, as to what this method does
    java.awt.Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().sync();
Thank you for your reply. I'm already using active rendering for both windowed and fullscreen modes. Since I'm drawing the entire contents of the window, I figured it would be easier to use active rendering with a Canvas. The drawing code is the same for the fullscreen and windowed modes.

  • Aperture 3.1.3 and iPhoto sync problems

Upgraded to Aperture 3.1.3. Then upgraded to Lion. Tried to sync my iPhone and it got as far as photo's and got a -50 Sync error. Went to iTunes and turned off photo sync and the phone syn'd perfectly. Went back to iTunes turned photo sync back on, and got an error again. Went to iTunes turned off sync and checked the option to remove my photo's from the phone. Sync worked fine. Turned the photo sync back on, and it errored out when it was trying to reload the pictures. Turned off the Aperture photo sync and changed it to iPhoto. The next sync it reloaded my 1,500 photos without a hitch.
Bottom line: I explained all I have gone through so you can understand that it is not a corrupt photo library on the phone, and iPhoto sync'd fine, so it certainly appears that Aperture is once again the problem.

I am getting the same "Unknown error (-50)" when trying to sync photos from my Aperture 3 library now.
I did not upgrade to Lion (waiting for a 3rd party driver I need to be updated first for it), but I did update iTunes to 10.4 (80) recently and that is when I noticed the issue.
I haven't had this issue before. It syncs everything else but when iTunes goes from "Analyzing Photos" to "Optimizing Photos" in the sync process it reports that it is unable to sync because of an "unknown error (-50)"
To resolve the problem, I tried the following:
I repaired my Aperture library database (using Option+Command when launching Aperture 3).
Deleted the "iPod Photo Cache" folder inside my Aperture library. It had to resync all my photos again, this time it worked, but the next sync it had the same error again.
Updated my iOS to the latest version.
Did a Repair Disk Permissions on my Mac.
I changed USB cables and ports (using only ports directly on my Mac Pro).
Tried syncing with only iTunes running.
Doing all the above made no difference, I am still getting the error message and it won't sync new photos back to my iPhone 4 now.

  • Disable iPhoto auto launch w/ plist?

I know you can disable iPhoto auto launch from the Image Capture app, but I would like to know where Image Capture saves its preferences so I can disable it by editing or replacing a plist.
I need to change preferences on a whole lab of Macs, and I would prefer to do it remotely on all of them at once if possible.
I looked but I can't seem to find where the preferences are saved. If anyone knows or knows of an easy way to do it let me know. Thanks.
    Power Mac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

It seems to be this file:
    "/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.ImageCapture2.00039343a1a8 .plist"
At any rate, that is the file that contains this entry, as the sole thing in the file:
    HotPlugActionPath String /Applications/Image Capture.app
So you can try adding/deleting this file and see if that will do what you want.

  • Disable Google Sync in 10.9

    Hi
I was running with the google synchronization enabled on th "On My Mac" Account of Contacts.
Now I have upgrade OS X to 10.9 and found that OS X now supports Google Account completely with Contacts Sync also.
So I enabled that Account, but - anyway - on th "On My Mac" Account in Contacts the used to be a check mark to enable contacts sync.
Now this check mark is no loger there - how do i get arround to disabling google sync on the "On My Mac" account?
    Please advice
    Best regards
    Poul

I don't use Google, but my understanding is that you can sync google contacts and other services between devices. If this is the case, you would be better off using only google services of your choice and deselecting them from iCloud.

  • Disabling LDAP sync

    Hi All
I tried to disable LDAP sync and here are my issues
1 - I tried to put all the Boolean values in /db/ldapMetadata/EventHandlers.xml to "FALSE" but I ended that the user get "initiated status" although I am using autoapprover workflow. I expected that I'll get the registration is "complete" and see the user in the USR table in OIM schema but this didn't happen.
2 - I deleted /db/ldapMetadata/EventHandlers.xml from MDS and ended having the following error in my log
cid: 0000JNZ4ezG4IvVRy2f9D01FLBdO00000p,0] [APP: oim#11.1.1.3.0] An error occurred while creating the user in LDAP.[[

    Did I miss anything here
    Thanks

The following should illustrate the WGM settings that should make this work for you:
    *Account Creation:*
Uncheck the 'Require confirmation before creating mobile account' and 'Show "Don't ask me again" checkbox' if you wish to disable those choices.
    *Login/Logout sync:*
This will sync only the folders indicated at login/logout only on the first login/logout cycle. Change this to add other user folders to preserve files as you see fit.
    *Background Sync:*
These settings will sync the entire user folder twenty minutes after first login and will sync every twenty minutes while the user is logged in. On subsequent logins syncing will take place twenty minutes after login. Adjust the time as you see fit as indicated below.
    *Background Sync settings:*

  • Disabling default Sync iTunes with iPod (special case)

I would sincerely appreciate it if someone could answer my question:
I want to know if I can disable the iTunes default were it "automatically copies the songs and playlists in your iTunes library to your iPod, and deletes songs from your iPod that aren't in your library" when you connect your iPod to your computer. I know that you can do this from the iTunes preferences, but this requires you to connect your iPod and therefore lose all the songs on the iPod that aren't in the library before you would be able to change the setting. (my library has changed a lot and I don't want to lose all the songs that are only on my iPod).
Is there some kind of keystroke that you can use to prevent this default script from running so that I can change the setting without losing all the songs unique to my iPod? Thank you.
    +Possibly helpful info:+
I have iTunes 6.0.4 and an iPod Photo. I set up all of my music on my iPod using an earlier version of iTunes (likely version 5). In that earlier version, I changed the preference to disable auto-syncing, but I have since installed iTunes 6.0.4 and (can't tell)/(change the setting) unless I plug in my iPod

You can use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘ Apple) keys together. I believe this command has been the same from earlier versions of iTunes until now. This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and it will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. You should then be able to change your settings: iTunes for Mac - Keyboard Shortcuts
