This is the route you need to take: Apple symbol in the menu bar > System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items.

  • How to disable iTunes Match on a computer other than the one with my main library?

I have iTunes installed on a home MacBook for syncing music, photos etc and iTunes on a work PC to sync calendars and contacts.  iTunes Match is enabled on both. However, I'd like to disable it on my work PC as it slows down my iTunes when I open it up.  When I click "Disable iTunes Match" in the store link in iTunes on my work PC, it appears to want to disable the service universally.  Is this only disabling it on this one device, or universally?  Thanks.

Thanks... took over an hour to turn off the iTunes Match, but it did not effect my home iTunes.

  • How can I disable itunes on my iphone 4s?  I don't use it for music and need to prevent it from automatically activating when I plug in to my vehicle.

How do I disable itunes on my iphone 4s?  I don't use the phone for music, and I need to prevent it from automaically playing music when I plug the phone into my vehicle.  I have attempted to delete all music from the device (so there would be nothing to play), but 1 song remains in the iphone memory and I have been unable to delete that song.

iTunes app on the iPhone is for purchasing music.
The fact the iPhone starts playing when connected to your car stereo is a function of your car bluetooth system.
Consult your car dealer/bluetooth system manual.
I have attempted to delete all music from the device (so there would be nothing to play), but 1 song remains in the iphone memory and I have been unable to delete that song.
Connect the iPhone to computer and select it in iTunes.
Click the Music tab and uncheck Sync music.
Then click Apply at lower right of iTunes.

  • Launch apps one at a time and disable iTunes at startup

    Hey guys
    I have two questions:
The first one is, is there any way to launch apps at Login but one after the other and not all at the same time? For instance, I would like to launch Adobe Ps, then Ai after Ps loaded, then Mail, and then others. Is this possible?
The second one is, how can I disable iTunes from launching at Login? I've checked my Starup Items and iTunes is not on the list. Also, I've right clicked the icon in the Dock and "Open at Login" is disable as well but it keeps launching every single time I start up my computer.
    Any helps is much appreciated.

In my case, I do need to launch Adobe Ps, Ai and Br, Mail, iChat, Safari, Pages and Cinema 4D every single day for work. Almost everything opens up fast, but like you said, Adobe apps take a lot of memory so they take longer to open. I really hate waiting for these to open up, so I'm looking for a way to make them launch one at a time as soon as I get into the office while I take care of some paper work.
In that case I don't think you need to put in a delay in between the apps to make sure the next only opens after the earlier is finished. I open 5 apps every morning with no delay in between and it always goes smoothly and very fast. Try that first then you can go back and edit the workflow to add the pauses in if you need it.
Is Automator user friendly? I've never used it before. Is it very easy to understand and setup?
It's very user friendly. I've only made about 3 apps (each workflow can be saved as it's own application), the launching multiple application being the last one and it was very easy, took about 5 minutes to create. Of course, someone on here had told me how to do it so that made it very easy.
Unfortunately, I haven't upgraded to Leopard yet and it looks like the interface is very different from Tiger. In Tiger when you open Automator it gives you a list of applications on the left, click on one to select and it will then give you a list of actions available for that application just to the right of that. Double click on the action and it adds it in as your workflow in a large space on the right.
In this case the app I chose was Finder, then Launch Application action. When that is added to the workflow I then had a popup menu of all my apps in my Applications folder so I would just choose the one I wanted. There is even an Other at the bottom to choose an app from elsewhere in case you have any outside the main Applications folder.
To add the pause select Automator from the left hand list of apps and you get a new list of actions, double click on Wait For User Action, which it will put right under the app you are launching as the next step. You can then set the time for how long you want it to wait.
Then go back to Finder and Launch Application and repeat the process for each app you want to open. All the actions in the workflow can be dragged around as much as you want to create a different order.
Very simple. Leopard's interface works differently but I suspect you still need to choose Finder to get to Launch Application and Automator to get to Wait For User Action. Each app has it's own set of actions it can perform but they can all be added together for a workflow.
Then save it as an app and put it on your desktop, or where ever you want, so you can double click to run it then walk away until it's done. Even after saving it you can go back in and edit it at any time, if you wanted to take an app out or add one in, for instance, or want a shorter or longer pause time, etc.

  • CineXplayer on my iPad (2) error message stating I don't have permission to copy files from my hp pavilion 6 across to my iPad. I think I may have accidentally disabled iTunes Helper, but it is running in TM.

I use CineXplayer on my iPad (2) and today have started getting an error message stating I don't have permission to copy files from my hp pavilion 6 across to my iPad. I think I may have accidentally disabled iTunes Helper, but it is running in Task Manager.
I have removed iTunes and re installed.

That's a comment in the file. It has no effect at all.

  • Problems Syncing music Manually after Disabling Itunes Match

I recently disabled iTunes match and since doing so I have been unable to manually transfer music to my iphone 4 or transfer purchases from my iphone to my itunes... anyone have a clue to how I might fix this? It's very wierd, it's almost like my computer doesn't recognize my iphone as being assocaited with my account..

Now I deleted all settings and data from my iPad, restored from backup and tried to sync all music again. Now most of the titles are synced. But there are still about 10 title, that do not sync.
If I browse for them on the iPad (in iTunes) the information shows the following:
    Size: Stream
    Data rate: 256 kbit/s
The song in my library is an MP3 with 192 kBit/s. So this information is completely wrong.
For me it seems, like the music library on the iOS devices got screwed up. The question is, how can I reset my music library without losing all the other data on the devices?

  • Songs not syncing after disabling iTunes Match

I subscribed to iTunes Match a week ago and uploaded my library.
Then I enabled iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S and my iPad2.
Yesterday I decided to disable iTunes Match on my iOS devices and synced them with my MacBook again.
    Now the problem:
About half of the songs cannot be synced anymore to the iOS devices. There is no system, which songs are not synced. Some are my own MP3s, some are buyed M4As, some are matched M4As. But there is more: The same song can be synced to the iPhone, but not to the iPad and vice versa. The behavious seems to be completely random.
    Software versions:
    Mac OS X 10.7.3
    iTunes 10.6.1 (7)
    iOS 5.1
Yesterday I upgraded both devices to iOS 5.1.1, but the problem persists.

  • How do I disable iTunes for a single user?

I recently purchased an iPhone and installed iTunes on my Windows Vista computer. It looks like iTunes was installed for all users. I typically have 2 windows user accounts active during the day. When I plug in my iPhone (with the included usb cable) iTunes tries to start for both users. One will succeed and I will constantly get error messages from the other until I unplug my iPhone. I always want my primary user account to start iTunes and connect to my iPhone when I plug it in and never want my secondary user to start iTunes or connect to my iPhone. Is there a way that I can just disable iTunes for my secondary user?

    Chris,
Thanks for your reply. Where is this option available? I have checked all the tabs that show up when I select iPhone. I have checked all the menu items (including edit-preferences) and I have also right clicked on iPhone. I don't see an item anywhere that will let me control this.
I am using iPhone 2.2.1 and iTunes 8.1, there are no updates available.
    thanks again,
    Jason

  • How do I Disable iTunes Radio

I have a 6yr old and a 4yr old and I don't want them listening to iTunes Radio as it can get any type of music. I want to disable iTunes Radio all together and only allow them to listen to music I place on their iPad mini's. The only options within apple in relation to music seem to be allowing explicit music or not. Apple needs to remember parental restrictions when they make all these new features. Any help would be appreciated, thanks

I've been racking my brain at this, too!!! However, I found a solution!!! My dilemma is that my child has an iPad mini in which I've been able to: download appropriate apps, music, restrict websites, install safe web browsers, etc. All was well until the latest update last year with the introduction of "iTunes Radio." After going through the trouble of searching online for answers; "more" mysteriously disappeared  from the music app so I cannot hide the "iTunes Radio;" and "Reset All Settings," I found I wasted my time! Instead, go to the "Settings" app and on the left side scroll down and select "iTunes and App Store" AND be sure that you or whoever's Apple ID is on your child's device is SIGNED OUT. Proceed to the "Music" app and you'll find that you NO LONGER have access to "iTunes Radio" because you are NOT signed in! I hope this helps many! ;-)
APPLE: Shutting off "EXPLICIT" under "Music and Podcasts" does not cut it if you can still listen to filth... There should be a disable feature for iTunes Radio.

  • How can I restrict or disable iTunes Radio?

I am a social studies middle school teacher. I use iPads on a daily basis to deliver instruction to my students. The iOS 7 update includes iTunes Radio in the Music app. Unfortunately, I am unable to restrict or disable iTunes Radio from my students.
It is ironic that I can restrict Safari and the camera from my students, but they have unfettered access to streaming radio.
Has anyone found a solution to this issue?
    Thank you!

  • Disable iTunes auto launch on iPhone docking.

Hello I'm trying to disable iTunes from automatically opening when I dock my iPhone to my computer. I have successfully done this by disabling ituneshelper.exe but this automatically enables itself after every reboot. (even if I disable it via msconfig) Is there a way to permanently stop iTunes from opening up when I dock my iPhone? Thanks a bunch.
I do not have any auto sync functions on.
I run Windows Vista 64 bit.

    I have the same problem!
I am running 8.2.1.6 and EVERY time I plug in my iPhone 3GS it causes two events:
    1) Windows has to tell me that there's a camera connected and asks me if I would prefer to use MS Word or the Camera/Scanner Wizard. Grrr. (MS Word??? Duh.)
    2) iTunes launches, bogs down my network connection, grinds for 5 minutes, and then tells me all about iTunes DJ. Sigh.
In the past, I thought the "Disable automatic syncing" option in Preferences>Devices was all that was required to disable the auto-launch. I guess that's no longer the case.
All I want is to use my USB port to charge my phone -- I let the real iTunes on OSX take care of all my syncing requirements . . .
I think this maybe should be considered a BUG.
    Anybody got an answer?

  • How do you disable iTunes?

I want to plug my ipod into my computer and not have itunes open itself, how do I do this? If impossible, how do I temporarily disable iTunes?

    Hi John,
To prevent iTunes from opening automatically when you connect iPod to your
    computer:
1 In iTunes, select iPod in the source list and click the Summary tab.
2 In the Options section, deselect “Open iTunes when this iPod is connected.”
    3 Click Apply.
or as you connect iPod touch to your computer, press and hold Command-Option (on a Mac) or Shift-Control (on a PC) until you see iPod touch appear in the sidebar.
there is also an option in iTunes preferences to prevent ipod syncing automatically.
    Hope this helps.

  • Disabling itunes startup

How do I stop iTunes from automatic start-up when a disc is inserted in my iMac? I am using iTunes 11.4 on an iMac in OSX 10.6.8. I have a disc stuck in the disc drive. It seems to be working mechanically but gets stuck at the last second. I want to disable iTunes automatically startup so I can try inserting a paper to assist the disc to eject.

Open the CDs & DVDs pane of System Preferences and turn the option off.
