Disable location Bar in Internet Explorer
Hi,
I am using apex 3.2.
I dont want my users to look at adress bar or edit it .So I want to disable it , when I use "WINDOWS.OPEN()" ,I am not getting tabs,my users need it to see whether the process is running or not. Hence i need tabs and not the adress bar.

Hi,
read this to be aware there are security reasons why this is disabled in most browsers: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/arvindsh/archive/2011/02/09/window-open-without-address-bar.aspx
Otherwise is the code something like this:
newwindow=window.open(url,'name','height=500,width=400,left=100, top=100,resizable=yes,scrollbars=yes,*location=no*,toolbar=yes,status=yes');Herald ten Dam

I have problems with seeing my bookmarks, file, view, edit...buttons. I tried other shortcuts. I noticed that all of my bookmarks are located in the Internet Explorer browsers, how can I restore setting back to Mozilla Firefox?
Is the menu bar missing (the one containing File, View, Edit etc)? If it is, the following link shows how to restore it - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Menu+bar+is+missing

The website is http://wwww.bataviabulldogfootball.tkNote that running your page through the W3C Validator gives this list of errors: http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bataviabulldogfootball.tk%2F&charset=%2 8detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0
I see that you have a very thin doctype at the top. I suggest you create a new page in Dreamweaver and copy the bit at the top of the page:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
Then put that code in place of these lines from your current page:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8" />
I see that you have two opening <body> tags. Delete one; it is not needed. Add the preload images from the second into the first body tag and delete the second.
I see code below the closing </html> tag. Re position it before the closing </body> tag.
Because of these errors mentioned above, it was impossible to see the page. Fix and reply here when you have done so.
Also, it is not possible for me to divine what difficulty you are having. If you can please also express it in English (LOL), I'll be happy to suggest a correction for you!
Beth
p.s. Posting entire blocks of code is NEVER as helpful as giving us a link to the pages in action. I seldom read through code dumps here in the Forum.

when i use internet explorer I get an irritating message saying internet explorer has stopped working, which is driving me mad so I will not use explorer any more I am trying mozilla firefox, there is a function in explorer that I like which is a favourites bar below the row of open windows below the address bar can this be activated in firefox thanks PC.
Yes, you can rearrange / move the elements of the default Firefox Toolbars and combine to save space by using the Customize mode, see this. <br />
https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar <br />
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Toolbar_customization
As far as the Site Advisor add-on - with add-on Toolbars your results will vary depending upon the Toolbar add-on. Some Toolbar developers do a minimal job and their product isn't as customizable to the extent that Firefox provides for; where other Toolbar add-ons were done the "right way" and they are as customizable as the default Firefox Toolbars. -
I have not used Internet explorer since downloading firefox and I need IE for a trading platform that I need to use. In order to get IE working I apparently need to down load the latest version of Yahoo toolbar, however when I try to down load the tool bar Firefox will not allow the down load of that file.
Thank you so much, for once in my computer life I knew what the problem was, what caused it, why it was caused, what it did, what it made it do and most importantly how to fix it and to do it correctly and expeditiously. I can not Thank You all enough for all of the help! I also have Pogo mailed this to all on my friends list, where they have all learned as I have and have fixed theirs also. and the message is being spread. Thank You again, I just can not say it enough.

Display of internal hostname on title bar of Internet Explorer
We are facing a problem regarding host name which gets displayed on the title bar of an Internet Explorer (IE).
We have installed cFolders on a different server than SRM (internal host name for cFolders: <b>(FQDN Name1).</b> During bid processing when bidder clicks on the collaboration bid invitation link from bid invitation, it connects to cFolders server. At this time it displays internal host name on the title bar of IE on collaboration web page <b>(i.e.FQDN Name1).</b> As per security concerns, internal host name should not be exposed to external users. Instead, it should have an external host name <b>(i.e. FQDN Name 2)</b> at the same place.I'm quite sure the first is requested already on the SQL Developer Exchange. Go there and add your vote and comments to add weight for possible future implementation.
At least until then, you can do as I: mark your connections with the username (like "DB_X - User_Y").
To change users in a worksheet, issue:
ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA = your_other_schema;Hope that helps,

Disable addressbar in Assigned Internet Explorer
In my assigned user account I want to run Internet Explorer to display the configured start page. This works. However, the user is still able to see the address bar and can enter a new address. Does Modern IE support hiding the address bar like Desktop
IE can do (via Registry settings)?This scenario has come up before and answers have varied between using third party modern browser apps and using Internet Explorer Kiosk Mode on the desktop. See:

Disable Quicktime plugin for Internet Explorer
There has been discussion on a number of forums regarding the Quicktime plugin for Windows Internet Explorer and how it will hijack file associations, preventing them from being opened up with your default application. This only occurs when clicking on a link on a website. This even occurs when the file assocations in Windows are set to open a particular media file with your desired player. Disabling the Quicking plugin in the Internet Explorer settings may only makes things worse because instead of the file playing with the Quicktime plugin, Internet Explorer displays a red "X", and doesn't play the media. Uninstalling Quicktime is a solution, but if you, like me, own a Apple device and use iTunes, Quicktime must be installed. There are a number of postings on the web with potential solutions, but none of them worked for me.
After troubleshooting for some time, I have finally figured out how to disable the plugin once and for all. I have narrowed it down to the registry entry that apparently loads the plugin into Internet Explorer. By simply deleting this entry, the Quicktime plugin will no longer load with IE and media will be launched with your favorite player. You can easily revert back to the Quicktime plugin by restoring the registry entry from a backup. Below, I have provided the reg.exe command line commands to backup and delete the registry entry.
1) Close out of Internet Explorer.
2)Backup with this command:
reg export "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{4063BE15-3B08-470D-A0D5-B37161CFFD69} " C:\qt_plugin1.reg
NOTE: This registry path is for Windows x64 (64-bit). I am not certain of the path for Windows x86 (32-bit), but I assume you may just need to remove Wow6432Node from the path. If it is not there, open regedit.exe and search for 4063BE15-3B08-470D-A0D5-B37161CFFD69.
3) Delete with this command:
reg delete "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{4063BE15-3B08-470D-A0D5-B37161CFFD69} " /f
4) Open Internet Explorer and test. When you click on a music or video link, your default media player should now launch.
I have tested this myself several times, including a reinstallation of Quicktime, and it worked. If it doesn't work for some reason, you can try performing the same steps with the following registry entries. Do one at a time and test so that you don't delete anything unnecessary.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{CB927D12-4FF7-4A9E-A169-56E4B8A75598}

If you wish to restore the Quicktime plugin, simply double-click the registry file that you backed up in step 2. Click yes when it asks you to confirm. Now when you open Internet Explorer and click on a link, the Quicktime plugin will load and play the media.I mentioned I have the Acrobat Pro 9 version.
Also, Im using IE 8. -

Name in top blue bar of Internet Explorer incorrect
Using Captivate 4. When creating my captivate file, I leveraged an existing file by renaming it and making necessary changes. After publishing, when the demo is opened, the top blue banner of IE displays the original project name. The steps I took to try to correct it are: updated the project name field found under File > Document Info > Project > Info, and renamed the Project Title in the Publishing dialog box before publishing. It still is displaying the original name instead of the new name.
How do correct this so that the new project title displays in the blue IE bar?There is a workaround I've used for this issue that works most of the time.
Open the project file that won't update the title properly and Save As to a new project file name in a totally different folder. NOTE that it must be a different name and different folder from the originals.
Update the title text in the publish dialog and publish.
Now Save As again back to the original filename and file folder.
Check the title text in the publish dialog. If you're lucky, it will now be the one you want. -
Problems with Vertical Spry menu bar in Internet Explora
Hi I'm new to Dreamweaver,
I having trouble with a new site I'm making in CS4. A problem with a vertical menu bar, in IE. Can anyone help?
1. The text is left aligned and should be centered.
2. The menu bar has moved left
3. My paragraph text has moved up the page and aligned itself to the to the menu bar.
Website address: http://www.greenwyse.co.uk/
I'm finding dreamweaver a bit clunky, reading the 'Missing Manual' but still very frustrating. Any one have any idea's/
cheers
myquirkSorry, but your CSS is has been mangled beyound recognition.
The solution is to start with an untouched style sheet. Then add or modify the CSS testing in your browsers as you make the changes.
Have a look at the following where I have positioned the menu. All that is now required is the styling for font and the hover event.
<!doctype html>
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Untitled Document</title>

body {width: 960px; margin: auto;}
.article {clear: both; margin: 20px;}
/* SPRY MENUBAR */
ul.MenuBarVertical {width: 29em; margin: auto; border: none;}
ul.MenuBarVertical li {width: 29em; text-align: center;}
ul.MenuBarVertical a {background-color: transparent;}
</style>

Nav bar bombs Internet Explorer for Windows
There was another thread on iWeb sites bombing IE for Windows - I've tried everything on that thread to no avail, so I thought I'd send out a new plea.
It appears that my Nav Bar is what's bombing IE. People can load a page, but when they click the Nav Bar IE crashes. I've also noticed on Firefox (Mac) the Nav Bar takes FOREVER to load - and this with a fast connection.
Help PLEASE. I have timely news to get out and a large part of my friends and associates can't access my site. Asking people to download Firefox falls on deaf ears - most people don't want to deal with something new.
This is my site, FWIW. And no, the lines and boxes do not touch.

Help much appreciated. LeslieSeemed to not be Navbar, but vertical lines added to pages

T9 - apostrophe causes capital letters to appear
I'm using a 6111. T9 works fine except using an apostrophe automatically capitalises the word. e.g. "Where he" would become "Where He's" I then have to go back to delete the word to get it back to lower case. It's driving me mad; does anyone know a f
