Disable locking with SM30
Hi,
my customer is not amused that SM30 locks a whole table not selected records. We have a couple of user tables with maintenance views. For the departments (of this small company) it is dificult to maintain their data if another department has data in the same table although completely different records.
I have seen a lecturer using a report to disable and reenable locking for SM30/SM31 10 years ago.
Any Idea?
Regards,
Clemens
P.S. I know that it is dangerous to disable locking, but: Why does SM30 not provide single-record-locking (or even 'optimistic locks').
And the customer wants it.
'You might even have tried before posting'.
I wouldn't of even bothered posting such a stupid question in the first place. You never delete a table lock. SIMPLE AS THAT.
Write a program that can be used to maintain the table instead.
In fact you said it yourself.

My Ipod Touch is disabled and when I connect to Itunes to recover it, it states that itiTunes could not connect to the iPod touch “iPod touch” because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can recover.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -

my iphone 3g is disabled, its says connet to itunes,i tired in itunes but its says locked with the passcord .but there is no space to enter passcord pls help
You'll have to connect in recovery mode iOS: Unable to update or restore
After that follow this article: iPhone and iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software. -
ipod touch has been locked out with the passcode. Have got the message ipod disabled connect to itunes. When connect to itunes I keep getting a message to say the ipod is locked with passcode please enter the passcode but it won't let me
Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then restore.

my ipad is disabled and it said ipad is disabled connect to itunes but i connected it and was restoreing it and then there was a popup and it said itunes cannot connect to ipad because it is locked with a passcode. and you must enter the passcode on the ipad before it can be used with itunes. But i couldnt even write the passcode on my ipad cause it was disabled. What should i do now????
Follow the instructions on this page to reset your iPad : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
Note: If iTunes asks you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer" section below.
If you have never synced your device with iTunes, or you do not have access to a computer
If you see one of following alerts, you need to erase the device:
"iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
"You haven't chosen to have [device] trust this computer"
If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device. -

The previous responses did not say how to place in recovery mode or DFU mode -
when i turn on ipod it says it's disabled and connect to itunes. When i connect to itunes it says ipod locked with pass code unlock before connecting, which i can't do. Help!
You need to manually place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore it in iTunes. See this article for instructions on connecting your iPod to iTunes in recovery mode.

Wrongly posted in iPhoto forum, should probably be posted here instead.
I want to remove the message that pops up every time i connect my IPhone that says: "Photos in the Camera Roll of "Name" cannot be imported because the device is locked with a passcode.".
This computer is not one that I want to import photos to (or sync with the iPhone), so this message is just very annoying, and it pops up all the time. I cannot find a way to disable this message. It is constantly appearing. No application is launching, I have turned off the iPhoto launch in the Image Capture app as well as in iPhoto. Thanks in advance if anyone has any information about this.Because your computer sees your phone, as it would see any digital camera, as long as you have photos in your camera role. Since you state you don't sync with this computer & have a passcode on your phone, that's why you get that message. The only way to prevent that message is either start syncing with this computer; remove the photos from your camera roll prior to connecting; or first turn off your passcode before you connect. Either that, or you live with it.
You shouldn't be storing photos in your camera roll anyway. iPhone camera roll is not designed for photo storage. You should be regularly importing them. -
I am currently restoring my ipod 5 however half way through re-covering my ipod 5 Itunes says "locked with a password unlock ipod etc..." and turns on the ipod and my ipod is still disabled...
what do i do??Try and force it into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
