Disable "logon" button for BPC for Excel, powerpoint and word .

Hello All,
Is there way to hide u201CLOGONu201D button for BPC for excel, word and PowerPoint. We want that our end users canu2019t see it.We have 300 users .  Is there any environment variable or BPC package setting for this to do it for all users in one shot?
Thanks,
Saquib Khan

Hi,
I still don't get why this requirement but I can understand it is required by a customer.
I don't understand where is the problem if somebody will press by mistake that button.
It will prompt login window and the user will be able to press cancel button.
I think the solution proposed it is really dangerours and it can cause a lot of issues with BPC if you will delete the logon dll.
What I want to clarify is who is asking about that button to be hide?
Are we speaking about BPC users?
If yes then they will use a really nice functionality.
Majority of BPC users are working in Excel and at some moment they need access to BPC.
So in that case it is easy they have just to press the logon button.
If you will hide that button they will have to go into launch page and from there to start BPC webexcel.
So that's means they will really loose a lot of time just to be back again into excel.
So I don't get why the people request to hide that button.
Let's suppose somebody press by mistake that button ...what is the issue with that?
I need to understand the requirements to be able to understand what kind of solution we can provide for customer.

That generally has to do with data corruption.   Is your data backed up?

  • Xcelsius exporting capabilities to Powerpoint and Word with Windows vista

I have recently bought a license for Xcelsius Present 2008 Full Product.
I have Windows Vista in my computer with the version of MS Office is 2003.
My problem is that the features of exporting Xcelsius visualizations to powerpoint and Word don't work at all.
Any advice about how to solve this????

    Hi,
When you want to export to PowerPoint then do not launch Xcelsius 2008 from the shortcut icon on the desktop or start menu.
Instead, run the main executable, located at the following path: C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Xcelsius\Xcelsius.exe
Then re-publish to PowerPoint and the model should then embed in the slide, you may still then have to go into slideshow-mode, right-click and choose play...
If it is helpful, please let me know. Thanks.

  • How do i get powerpoint and word stuff on my computer

how do i get powerpoint and word to work on my new computer ( MacBook Pro )

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have to install Office for Mac > http://www.microsoft.com/mac It's the same as Office for Windows, but ported to OS X. It has got a different interface, so give time to learn it. It reads the existing Office documents you have, and the files you can create can be used in any PC with Office.
    There are also alternatives:
    - Apple iWork. It's Apple's Office version, with Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Available at the Mac App Store.
    - LibreOffice. Free and open-source, works with Office documents.
I recommend you to give LibreOffice a try. It gives you everything you need and it's free

  • MOVING DATA FROM MICROSOFT ACCESS, EXCEL, PUBLISHER AND WORD TO AN IMAC G5

I HAVE INHERITED AN IMAC G5 RUNNING MAC OSX. CAN I CONVERT MY MICROSOFT ACCESS, EXCEL, PUBLISHER AND WORD FILES FROM MY HP PAVILION RUNNING WINDOWS 98 SE TO RUN ON THIS IMAC?

Please do not post in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
It looks like you are SHOUTING AT EVERYONE.
That said... you can purchase Microsoft Office for Mac and use your Word and Excel files as you normally would on any Windows PC.
Microsoft Access and Publisher will require you to use Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office for Windows. You'd need to install Virtual PC for Mac on your G5 to use Windows and Office for Windows.
It'll likely be slow and painful.

  • Powerpoint and word alternatives for mac

    Hi
I am poised to buy the MS office suite for Mac.
I use MS word and powerpoint on a daily basis.
I have tried open office but found it unreliable when opening documents on a pc (format chenges etc).
Is there any reliable alternative to the MS office?
I have read reports of MS office for mac being unstable but I have also read lots of reports contradicting this.
    Many thanks
    Paul

Office for Mac is very stable so your information is unreliable. However there are a number of alteratives, including Apple's iWorks suite of Numbers, Pages and Keynote and for web based alternatives a lot like LibreOffice which you can find by Googling it.

  • Help! Youcam, Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Reader all not working in U310

Using a U310 ideapad with Windows 7 bought one year ago - warranty just expired of course!!
5 days ago I tried to pull up and excel spreadsheet from an e-mail and got an error message that there was not enough memory to do so.
Afterward, I tried to open word and it simply grayed out with a message box saying it was not working - it would try to fix the problem and then it just disappeared.  The same thing continues to happen.
I tried to open a PDF with Adobe Reader and it, too, crashed.  I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, stopped it from coming up in protected mode and now it doesn't crash but I cannot edit any pdf with it and the tools box no longer works at all - a small circle spins in it for a couple of seconds, then fades to gray.
My youcam will not turn on at all - when I click on the youcam icon, the cursor spins for a couple of seconds, then returns to an arrow and the youcam doesn't come on.
So, after experiencing all these things, I figured I'd try the tried-and-true method of rebooting my laptop.  When the laptop restarted, before allowing me to enter my password, the error message "verifyhost.exe - application error unable to start correctly Oxc000007b" came up.  I x'd out of that, entered password, then 2 other errors came up "lenovoreg.exe" and SACpl.exe
After working on this for hours, I'm really at a loss as to what it could be.  Does anyone have any idea?   It's unbelievable to me that this has happened on a new laptop that basically just sits on my desk - I don't travel with it and don't do much more than email and word processing on it!  I have no games and very little else even downloaded!

Download this, install, update and try to scan your hdd for malware.

  • My Macbook all of a sudden can't open Skype, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Entourage. I have done research and read that it has something to do with malware and viruses. Please help I feel like I have tried everything!

This started a few days ago, when I noticed skype would not open and keeps quitting unexpectingly. Now it's all of my microsoft office programs. I have read horrible things on the internet about creeps building some sort of 'backdoor' through Mircosoft Word and are now able to access my macbook. I want to feel safe again and I want to be able to use skype again. I think I will delete Microsoft office until I find/can afford a better version.
I have tried deleting and re-installing the programs, PRAM-ing my mac, doing the utilities organizing thing, and I downloaded 4 different scanners (Cleanmymac, VirusBarrier Express, Bitdefender Virus Scanner, and ClamXav) to help get rid of this and only one scanner found a small file that was harmful. I need some advice PLEASE!
    Thank you for your time!

Sorry I'm just getting to this now, but a lot going on today in this front. There is now a "K" version of Flashback and perhaps more going on.
A couple of considerations you need to be aware of.
It's clear from the results of your testing that the reason you were infected is because your Java is out of date, so it's important that you keep all your software up-to-date going forward.
But even that won't protect you from this new "K" version as Apple has not released the patch to it yet, so I encourage you to disable Java in all your browsers and consider doing so for everything by opening Java Preferences (located in /Applications/Utilities/) and unchecking the box next to "J2SE 6.0" and any other box that might be checked. If you find that some application(s) you need must use Java, then you should enable it only to run that application(s).
We cannot be certain that what you did totally killed the Trojan, so your best bet would be to restore your Mac back to where it was before you were infected using TimeMachine. If you don't have a TimeMachine backup or cannot determine the date of infection, then your safest solution is this one:
    Courtesy of Linc Davis:
I suggest you take the following steps immediately:
    1. Back up all data to at least two different devices, if you haven't already done so.
    2. Boot from your recovery partition (if running Mac OS X 10.7 or later) or your installation disc (if running an earlier version of the Mac OS), launch Disk Utility, and erase the startup drive. This action will destroy all data on the drive, so you must be sure of your backups.
    3. Install the Mac OS.
    4. Reboot and go through the initial setup process to create an account. Don’t import anything from your backups at this stage.
    5. If running Mac OS X 10.6.x or earlier, run Software Update.
    6. Restore the contents of all the top-level subfolders of your home folder except “Library” from the most recent backup. You can also restore the files in the Library folder, but don’t restore any of its subfolders; only the files contained in those folders, and only if they’re visible in the Finder. Don’t restore any hidden files or folders, no matter where they are.
    7. If you’re running Mac OS X 10.5.x or earlier, disable Java in Safari’s preferences, and leave it disabled until you upgrade to Mac OS X 10.6.8 or later, including all available updates. The Java web plugin is unsafe to use under older versions of the Mac OS. Note: I’m not referring to JavaScript, which is unrelated to Java, despite the similarity in the names.
    8. Change every Internet password you have, starting with banking passwords. Check all financial accounts for unauthorized transactions. Take this step only after you’ve secured your system in the preceding steps, not before.
    9. Reinstall your third-party software from fresh downloads or original media, not from backups which may be contaminated. If you use any third-party web browsers under Mac OS X 10.5.x or earlier, disable Java in their preferences, as you did with Safari in step 7.
Of course, as of this morning you should follow my instructions for disabling Java and ignore his, at least until Apple gets that Java patch out.
Pay particular attention to Step 8 no matter what you decide to do.

  • BPC 7 : Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 Conflict

    Hi Experts,
I have created a template in BPC 7 MS on my computer which has Excel 2003 version.
But when I try that template on another computer which has Excel 2007. The format (in the format Range) did'nt seem to work or it has diff effect on Excel 2007.
Is there really a conflict between them?? and cannot have different Microsoft Office version??  Or is there An Add-on that we have to Install so that Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 can be used at the same Time??
    Thanks,
    Bennie Jay

    Sorin:
    Situation
I also have the same issue with Excel formatting in Excel 2007, and I found a work-around specifically to my issue.
At the format section's CRITERIA, I have one entry: HEADING="New Budget" in the Column direction, apply certain color and number format to the cells of that column. However, I used Excel function CONCATENATE("HEADING=",EVDES("FINANCE",CATEGORY)) to come out with HEADING="New Budget", rather than just typing the string value.
With the above exercise, in Excel 2003 the format would apply no problem, but in Excel 2007, the entire formatting went wild and broke. After I dropped CONCATENATE() and just typed in HEADING="New Budget", the formatting applied OK in 2007.
    Data
We are currently on BPC 5.1 SP5
The original report was built in Excel 2003
    Question
Is there a setting in Excel that would allow me or bypass the restriction to use Excel functions to come out with CRITERIA definition?

  • Disable "undo" button in pages for iPad

    Hi!
Is there any way to disable the "undo" button that appears in the on-screen keyboard in Pages for iPad? I can't count the number of times I have been furiously typing away when I accidentally hit that and undid paragraph upon paragraph of work! Of course by the time I realized what happened, I had already typed more and trying to "redo" is not an option.
In lieu of that, if there is any way to disable the "undo" feature altogether?
    Thanks!

+1 ... I really don't even see the point of this button, when does one write a page of information and decide "it sure would be helpful to have an undo button next to the period symbol right about now"?  Isn't that what "select all" and "backspace" are for?

  • In a z-transaction, provision for attachment of JPEG, PDF and Word files.

    Hi All,
I am creating a Z-transaction with create, change and display options. The user needs 2 to 3 fields where he/she can attach a google map or a pdf or a word file. Could anyone please suggest how I can go about this such that during creation it can be attached and then displayed in the display screen and a click on that could lead to opening of the map or the pdf file stored on the system. I would be obliged if a sample of the same could be demonstrated too.

  • HT4910 Can I backup my Powerpoint and Word docs on iCloud

I want to be able to access my Powerpoint docs via iCloud, is it possible?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Yes you can do that.
You can add word, excel and PowerPoint documents to iCloud via the appropriate iWork application (ie, pages for word, numbers for excel etc) when you do this, they can be opened by iWork apps on mobile device or by iWork or MS Office on a computer.
In addition to this, you can add most types of documents to iCloud through text edit and preview.
