Disable of Blackberry device password

Hi,
I am using blackberry curve 9320. I have locked my device with password. I know the password, but I can able to change password. I could not remove the password. I tried to unstick the enable column but it’s in hide condition.

Please check for the following:
Content Protection
Encryption
IT Policy
If any of those exist, then they could be the cause...for the first two, simply reverse the configuration setting (turn it OFF it is present turned ON).
For an IT Policy, you will have much more work to do if that is present, starting with a full and complete backup of your device (you can find instructions via the link in my auto-sig on this post). Once you have a full backup, then proceed with this:

Afterwards, your BB will be like brand new...no added apps, no data, etc. You can then proceed to re-install your apps and restore your data. BUT --- beware...do not do a full restore from your backup. Rather, do only a selective restore of only those databases you require (Contacts, calendar, messages, etc.), specifically avoiding restoration of any databases that have anything to do with IT Policy, Enterprise, or other such things. If you restore those, you will wind up right back where you are now.

if not on BES you cant reset it.
if on BES contact your BESAdmin to have it reset.

Controlled Access to device password - How do I disable it?

Really hoping someone can help,
I set up the controlled access to device password, however earlier today it rejected the password even though I had entered it correctly. On the last attempt it told me that failure would wipe device of all data! My network provider told me that if I entered it wrong on a final attempt it would wipe and block the phone and the only way to have phone unblocked would be to have it sent away! As a few hours had passed and I was unable to use the phone I took the chance of entering the password again and it worked.
However, when I went to disable the password it would not allow me to!
Is there any way to disable it as I mostly use my phone for business I can not afford to have it blocked and/or wiped!

Doesn't sound like it. Your employer has put that in place. You can change the password, but you cannot remove it.

How to disable the Device Password on the Q10

I accidently enabled the Device Manager program on my Q10 and now I have to enter my device password every time I use the phone. The Device Password program is located within the Security and Privacy area but I am unable to turn off the program. Does anyone have any ideas on how to disable this Device Manager?

Thank you for responding to my question. Starting at Settings then select Security and Privacy then slect Device Password and arrive at Device Password screen. At the top of the screen is a slider button to turn on or off the Device Password. The slider is turned on but will not allow me to slide to off. Under the slider are the words" IT policy requires device passwod to be set. Any ideas on how to move the slider to off?

Plugged in my phone to the computer for the first time. I've fallen at the first hurdle. Device password is requested. I've tried the Blackberry ID User Name, my password, and the pin no. None of these work. What is meant by the device password, please?

It should be the same password that you enter when you turn your phone ON or unlock the keys.

Blackberry connect device password

I installed Blackberry connect on a nokia e61i. After enterprise activation everything was working fine till the device locked. I never was requested to set a password for it. Is their a default device connect sets ? Steve

Issue resolved, connect reset the device password to 12345

Are you using your Carrier or host email as your BlackBerry ID ?

Upgraded Blackberry Desktop software and now it will not accept my device password. What's happened?

I've upgraded the software on my desktop and connected my Bold 9700 to my computer. It asked me for my device password but it's not accepting it. I'm up to 8/10 tries and I know I'll have issues if I keep trying. I've disconnected my bb but it is still wanting a password and not accepting it.
Also the password field on my bb is showing me the characters I'm typing in as opposed to astericks.
I don't know what is happening and I don't want to lose all my data. Help!

I found the answer. I was entering the wrong password and not realizing it. sorry if i waster your time reading this.

HOW TO FIX YOUR BLACKBERRY: DEVICE SOFTWARE REINSTALLMENT.

All your phone truly needs is its software updating. I believe that sometimes certain software versions just stop working or become incompatible in some way or another because they are too 'old', and this incompatibility particularly affects Blackberry Messenger or receiving incoming emails. I worked out how to fix my own Blackberry Curve 8520, without having to ask anyone for help, particularly my carrier service (Orange - as I believe that they are as clueless as we are!). In short terms, you need to replace your device's software completely, and this may take a while, but it is definitely worth it!
This is how I fixed mine :
1) Have your USB lead ready to connect your phone to your laptop, or Mac (but do not connect your phone via the USB to the laptop until after step 3.)
2) In order to manually reinstall the latest software - even if you have the latest software, this shall work - you have to download the 'Desktop For Blackberry' program onto your laptop, or Mac. Click the following link in order to download and install this program -
http://www.us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/ -
(for laptops only, to download this program for Macs, go to the blackberry website and find the program, it gives you the link for Mac download separately).
3) Ensure that you have fully installed the 'Desktop For Blackberry' program on your laptop, or Mac, and then proceed to set up your phone with this program by connecting your phone to your laptop, or Mac, via the USB cable. It should then prompt you to enter your devices security password. From here, you should be able to access your phone via your laptop.
4) Once 'Desktop For Blackberry' is fully set up and synced with your Blackberry device, the next major step is to install the latest software update for your device (even if you have the latest software, reinstalling it should work). Follow the following link in order to download the latest software version via 'Desktop For Blackberry' -

- (If you are viewing this message a few weeks or months later, when you follow this link, ensure that this is the LATEST software available. If it isn't, the latest software shall be on the left of the screen when the link is clicked on.)

NB; DO NOT DISCONNECT OR LET YOUR LAPTOP, OR MAC, LOSE POWER DURING THIS PROCESS, OTHERWISE THIS MAY LRENDER YOUR DEVICE COMPLETELY DISABLED.

Hey I tried that before and it work but yesterday I was using my phone while talking to someone so I rest it down on a table then phone screen went black n when I press it it never responded so I need normal procedure by taking out the battery it load up then froze coming to the end of the loading bar it froze again I waited for a while took out the battery waited for 5 minis same thing I waited for 10 minis same thing so I waited 30 minis or more same thing
I left on with froze for the whole night same thing...what else can I do need help ASAP got so many important information on there already missed out and important program this morning because of that

On your Storm 9550, Options > Security > Password and disable it.
You might need to look at Options > Security > General Settings the password options.
Either way, disable your password there.

[Help] BalckBerry link asks for device password - why? (Q5)

Hello friends
I own an blackbery Q5
I can't say when and I'm sure I've not used any menu to enable some password request.
I use it since few days
From the begin, the steps I've done are
- backup/restore the data of my previous 9360
- update to latest OS 10.1 update
- setting up my BlackBerry ID
- enabling the development mode (now disabled)
Today, I've plugged the Q5 to my notebook and BlackBerry Link starts with the prompt
"BlackBerry-9496 is password protected" and waits for a password...
... which password is this?
I have full access to the Q5, where should I check this password, and hopefully un-check this password request?
I mean, I don't want to be asked for a password.

I've discovered the issue
when I've enabled the development mode, I've been asked for a password to be setup.
It seemed to me that the password was relative to the development mode, instead reading carefully, it was a request to enable the device password protection.

Blackberry ID Password reset email doesn't contain a link to reset password!

Basically, I'm trying to reset my Blackberry password for my Blackberry Curve. I get a password reset email when i request it, but the email does not contain a link to reset my password. The ENTIRETY of the email is as follows:

That is very strange indeed...with only 2 possible causes I can think of.
1) Your email app (on your PC) is blocking the link that is included in the email...many email apps will do this and sometimes you must override them. If you have an alternate interface to use (e.g., GMail webmail interface versus Outlook), then try the other and see if that helps. Depending on the email environment (e.g., private corporate email system), it is also possible that some gateway along the path is stripping out the necessary link(s) as a security measure.
2) The reset email facility is actually broken, and the email does not contain what it is supposed to. If that is the case, then it requires formal attention from RIM. The only way to achieve that is for you to contact VZW and have them escalate your case into RIM.

Please help me. My ipad is disabled after entering wrong password. i actually forgot my password and in the course of trying for several times, it became disabled. Please how can i enable and unlock it. I tried connecting to iTunnes on my laptop but the iTunnes could not connect, saying the ipad is locked.
