Disable old app store address

I bought a used MacBook retina 13". The app store still thinks I'm the previous owner and no matter how many times I log in, I can not update my software without it asking for the OLD owner's id! how do I log this computer out of the app store and log in as myself???

Restart the computer with the Option, Command, and R keys held down, use the Disk Utility on the recovery partition to erase the main one, and install a fresh OS.

How can I delete my old app store account from update on my IMac

All items that you download from the iTunes store are tied to the account that downloaded them, so only that account can download updates to its apps.
If you are referring to apps from the Mac App Store then you will be better off asking in the Using Mac App Store forum (this is the iTunes Store forum).

  • Apple ID Disabled in App Store

I can sign into iTunes with my Apple ID but when i try to get into the App Store it tells me that my Apple ID has been disabled?

OK, so there is no issue going on with the AOL User Name change, it is just that Apple is no longer going to allow an Apple ID to be anything other than a valid email address. Some AOL users who set up Apple IDs long ago still have their AOL User Name as the Apple ID (say, Jane Doe). If you have Jane Doe as your Apple ID, you are being required to change it to a valid email address. But as long as you have [email protected], you are fine.
Also, Apple will never send you an unsolicited email with a link in it to change your Apple ID, password, or to validate your Credit Card or anything else. The only time Apple will send you any sort of email with a link is when you have requested them to send that email to your Rescue Email address for the purposes of resetting forgotten Security Questions. But only you can initiate that action, so if you have not done that, then any email with a link in it from "Apple" is a scam.
So, the email you got is totally illegitimate. Send the info to that Apple link for phishing emails that I provided. These people are absolute lowlifes out there to fleece anyone they can.

  • Old App Store Apps, what's happens?

ook I have old apps in the App Store and I tried to download a few of them. They keep crashing when I try to open them. I even tried to view the info about the app but nothing comes up.
so what happens to these old apps? I want to recover a few and I can download them but can't use them. I even can't find them in the search option.
if they can no longer be played why does Apple keep them on there to be downloaded? If the can't be played on the new iOS why let me download them? You certainty can't download a app that's meant for the newer iOS.
    SO what gives?
Some are totally gone as I've seen.

New iOS versions generally add new functionality to iOS, so it tends to be that apps developed with newer versions of iOS aren't compatible with older versions - but when new iOS versions are released developers are supposed to test their apps to ensure that they continue to work, and if necessary make any amendments. But apps only have a minimum iOS version specified in the store, not a maximum version, so if the developer hasn't made any necessary updates to make it compatible with iOS 7 then it won't work. Generally it's the app's developer that removes their app from the store, unless it's found to violate copyright or store's terms, or (I assume) if Apple get enough complaints about an app.
If you can find the app in the Purchased tab for redownloading then it should show in the main part of the store, and on its description page there should be a 'updated date' for when the app was last updated in the store (and there might be reviews) - iOS 7 was released in mid-September last year, theoretically any apps that weren't compatible with iOS 7 should have been updated around that date onwards.

  • Removing old app store account

I recently bought a mac and am trying to use the mac app store. The problem is that the app store will only let me use the previous owner's account to update apps. I can buy and download apps fine. Is there a way to remove their information? Some sort of setting the library etc.? Thanks.

The only thing the old user can do, is give you his password, so that you can log on with his Apple ID, and update it yourself. But the ownership will always remain tied to his Apple ID AND that computer.
Only iTS can un-adopt. Though there is a chance they may end up giving you credits instead, let's see what they do.

  • Disable iOS App Store

Is there a possibility to block the installation of applications from the App Store, or total exclusion of the App Store, as in the case of Google Play.

In Policy>Add>Configuration>IOS>MDM Payload>Restriction I have checked onli: Enable and Allow installing apps
All other options are unchecked (except those for the Supervised  are not available).
On the device, you can install the application. Why?

  • ITunes & App Store in Mac show old e-mail when using "Tell a Friend"

    Hi,
I have changed my e-mail address on my Apple Account a while ago. All seems to work and when i go to manage the account it shows my current e-mail.
But when i use "Tell a Friend" feature in the iTunes Store and in the App Sore in Mac is shows my old e-mail. Where can i update this please?
    Thanks

Whilst browsing through the other questions...I found a solution that whilst seemingly unlikely...worked for me.
The full description can be found here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/13124170#13124170
    Quick summary:
Under parental controls, disable the app store option but enable the iTunes U option. Click okay. Wait for iTunes to load iTunes U. Once that's done, go back to parental controls and enable the app store option and voila! problem solved. Strange but true. =)

  • Can I disable the password requirement to download applications from the app store?

Recently, my Apple ID has become "locked" roughly twice a month for the last two months and it's been driving me insane. To try to remedy this issue, I finally changed my password -- after struggling to come up with a password that was "strong" I ended up with one that's more than 20 characters long and incredibly convoluted.
This brings me to this question: is there a way to disable the App Store requiring a password to download apps? It was already a nuisance, but it's going to be wholly worse now that my password is Biblical in length.
If there is an answer to either of these issues, that would be awesome! (Why does my Apple ID keep locking up twice a month when I type my password immaculately? Can I stop needing my password? I'm the only one using my iPhone).
    Thank you so much!

    Awesome. :|
    Thank you!

  • How do I disable the Mac App Store?

I have a special needs son and for this reason I have to limit what he has access to on his iMac.
With the Mac App Store coming I had made the choice to simply not install/download the Mac App Store. I realized that this morning that is not an option, it is installed as part of the 10.6.6 update.
I removed it from the dock but still I realize it is installed on the Mac and for example it's an option on the Apple pulldown menu and I know there is an option of when a file cannot be opened there is an option to open the app store to find an app.
I looked at Parental controls but unless I am wrong could not find an option to completely disable the app store. I don't mind enabling it when I want to install certain apps on his mac that he will need. This may be convenient but simply don't want him to be able to get into the app store to install apps.
    Thank you for your help.

I agree. Current MAC is my first and I was happy with it. But this new direction means it will be my last. I've deleted AppSotre.app (or whatever it was called). but I still be Finder offering to search App Store for me !!! It is well and truly tied into the OS.
With windows you take what Microsoft what you to have. Now with Mac you take what Apple require you to have. So looks like Linux (where you still seem to have a choice).
Seems to be a lot of bad feeling caused by the fact that it cannot be globally disabled. Fanboys love it and hate any criticism yet many others are disappointed. For me, I'll give Apple a wek for a global disable/remove, them commit to Linux. (Of course I'll keep the Mac for Photoshop but no more updates and no replacement).

  • If I connect my device to a new Apple ID, how will it affect my old apps?

I have an iPod touch with my same old App Store account on it. But I'm having way too much trouble with the account (involving security questions, email addresses etc), but I have purchased way too much stuff on the account to leave it alone.
So, if I sign out of this account and make a new one and continue my purchases with a new account, what will happen to all my old apps?
Also, is it true that with my new account, if I need to update my old apps, all I have to do is temporarily sign in from my old account and then sign in again to my new account once the update is done?

    The article saays:
When you turn on iTunes Match or Automatic Downloads, or when you download past purchases on an iOS device or computer, that device or computer becomes associated with your Apple ID. This article describes how to manage these associations.
Just refrain from using those features or if you do you will have to wait 90 days to use them with the other account.
I think when you update an app, iTunes uses the ID that purchased that app/ yu do not have to change the Settings>iTuhes and Ap stores login. However, as I said in my first reply, yu have to update apps one at a time if there are updates available for apps purchased by more than one account.

  • How do you get the app store to work again?

My older child disabled the app store for his younger brother using som pass code...that he does not remember. This ipad is connected through my itunes account. What can I do to make it so that he can purchase apps again if I don't know the passcode?
    Thanks!

If he can't remember the Settings > General > Restrictions passcode then was it on the iPad when you last backed up ? If not then you can restore to that backup and it should be removed. If it was on the iPad when you last backed up then the only way to remove it is to reset the iPad back to factory defaults and you can then re-sync your content back to the iPad - you won't be able to restore to the backup as that will keep the code in place.

  • Touch id not working with iTunes and App Store

Touch ID will work to unlock my phone, but not with iTunes or App Store. It keeps asking for my iTunes password. I have turned on 'Use your fingerprint instead of your Apple ID password when buying from the iTunes & App Store'. I am running IOS v7.0 (11A466)

I was having this issue too, it was always asking for the passcode even though the setting was on for iTunes & App Store. To fix it I turned it off and then back on again, it asked for my password and then it worked.
    Steps:
    - Go to Settings -> General -> Touch ID & Passcode -> Touch ID
    - Disable iTunes & App Store
    - Re-enable iTunes & App Store
    - Enter your passcode one last time
    - It should work
Also as others mentioned, under General -> Restrictions -> Require Password might need to be set to 15 minutes.
