Disable Outlook Integration-Automatic Archival Feature
Greetings,
I'm trying to find a way to disable Adobe X Standard/Professional's feature of Automatic Archival of e-mail in Outlook 2010.
We have a no-archiving policy in our organization, and this feature permits users to very easily circumvent the policy (and locking outlook from making its own archive)
I don't want to disable the entire Outlook toolbar (I've done this, and while it will work, it removes other adobe features in outlook that I would like to retain.)
I have already looked in the Adobe Configuration Tool, and the AIM for Acrobat, and unfortunately, i cannot find reference to this feature and how to disable it/remove it from the toolbar.
I'll clarify.
The Adobe Customization Wizard X doesn't reveal any way to disable this part of the add-in installs (in my case Adobe X Standard)
The feature also isn't listed in the Preferences Reference (AIM) available at:

Here's a pic of the ribbon, and the button that I need to disable when deploying Acrobat X Standard to my users.
(in some way other than simply removing it from the ribbon manually, user by user).

Outlook: How to update folders in automatic archive function
When using the automatic archive function (pdf maker, single portfolio of emails) in Outlook 2010 we have the following problem:
Once set the email folders and subfolder structure of our archive remains at the status of its first setting. This means every time we rerun the archive function NEW folders/ subfolders (added after initial setup) will NOT be included!
Is there any way to automatically update the subfolder structure (e.g. below a main project folder) every time we rerun the archive function???
Otherwise this function is totally useless as any change in our Outlook folder structure is not reflected in the archiving functions, which means NEW folder and their contents are not archived!
We have like 20 projects with different archive paths we now have to archive manually each time we backup.

Go to the "Source Systems" object type
Find your Source System
Right-Click on the source system
Choose 'Transfer Exchange Rates'.
Your BW Administrators team should have this function set up as a daily batch process. -
Can Outlook Integration create the activity from an email automatically?
I have an SAP client who's customer service department receives a lot of emails, we would like for Outlook integration to import these into SAP as activities automatically, instead of the user doing it manually. Is this possible?

I use Plaxo for my contacts, and I want it to synch my Outlook contacts with my PC. I got a new HP PC with the (awful) Windows 8.0 operating system, and, to say the least, I miss the good old days. Plaxo customer support tells me that I can't use my iCloud contact synch because they clash.
My question: How do I disable my iCloud contact synch feature while still allowing the rest of iCloud (music, photos) to operate as usual.
What mysterious steps must I take in order to do this and not cause a complete meltdown in the process? The meltdown that I fear most is the one that happens between my ears.Music is nothing to do with iCloud but Photostream is, so turn off Mail, Contacts and Calendars (in the iCloud Control Panel) and leave everything else on.
You will lose iCloud Calendars and Mail as well as Contacts, but you can manually re-enable mail (if you use iCloud email) -
MS Outlook Integration - 4 Big Missing Features
I'm a huge Apple fan but a long time Blackberry user - held off until this week before taking the iPhone plunge.
I've already found 4 big missing features - anyone found any answer to these?
a) this one is well known I think - you can only sync the Outlook calendar via the USB cable and iTunes. This is plainly ridiculous but Apple have apparently licensed MS Activesync so will hopefully be fixed soon - unless someone has an answer in the interim?
b) this one is BAD - when someone sends me a calendar invite, it doesn't appear on my iPhone at all. Consequently I miss meetings! This can't be right surely - am I doing something wrong??
c) attachments are sometimes viewable, sometimes not. I found an article which says only docs attached to HTML or plaintext emails - not RTF (rich text format) - are viewable. If so, this is nuts -99% of my corporate email is RTF.
d) on a BB, you can select email addresses from the company directory - no such equivalent on the iPhone, you can only select addresses from your contacts. Does Apple expect me to type all my corporate email addresses into contacts??

SMThanks your reply, Jeff. I take your point and to be clear, I did enter into my iPhone purchase with my eyes open - I knew from my research and from talking to others that a few things wouldn't work.
My point in return - in case anybody from Apple is reading this - is that there are a heck of a lot of business people like me who would dearly love to dump their BBs and switch to iPhone, and It seems to me that the necessary missing features would not take that much effort to fix.
Like any engineering company, I understand that Apple's R&D dollars are finite and priorities must be determined. My suggestion to them is that adding the Outlook integration features would leverage a lot more sales than, for instance, adding MMS or a videocam or any of the other "missing" features.
Or maybe Apple is happy to let third parties fill the gap? e.g. Hyperoffice:

Disabling the Check for Update feature in 10.1.3
Hi,
I work at a government facility that has tight security restrictions regarding downloading software. We are about to prepare a software delivery package for JDeveloper 10.1.3 that will let our IT department install JDeveloper on all of our developer workstations. One thing we would like to do as part of this deployment package is to disable the Check for Updates and PlugIn feature of JDeveloper. Is there a setting in a configuration file that controls this menu item?

Is the requirement to disable the check for updates feature altogether (i.e. remove the menu item), or to just disable the automatic check that happens on startup?
There isn't currently a documented way to totally disable the feature altogether, however it's possible to add such a feature in a future service update if necessary.
There is a potential way in which you can modify the behavior of the wizard such that it will always find no updates (the menu item will still be present, however). If this is an acceptable solution to you, let me know and I'll fill you in on the details.

Outlook Integration - Case of the missing snapshots
Hey all,
Here's the issue:
SBO 2007A PL 35
The snapshots are being created on the server, and they showing on the SBO server (say
SBOHOST).
I created the snapshots for EN(GB), EN(US), and NL.
For reference, the actual database is on a dedicated SQL server (
SQL_SERVER)
All files are there, and permissions are set so that they can be written.
I went onto the terminal server (
TERMINAL) that connects through to the main server database (
SQLSERVER) and to the SAP files B1_SHR on
SBOHOST
The templates were missing in the "Define Snapshot Templates" under EN(GB), EN(US), and NL.
I checked the paths, and they are fine so there are no permission issues.
I then installed, from TERMINAL, the Czech snapshots. They work. I can see them under the "Define Snapshot Templates" on TERMINAL
...but not on SBOHOST where I can see the others...
They are sitting right beside each other in the
SBOHOST\B1_SHR\Addon\Microsoft Outlook Integration\Templates\[DATABASE]\Default
I can see CS (Czech), NL (Dutch), EN (Enlish) folders.
I had a look in the [@BOOSTP] and found if I changed the "host name", in a test database of course, from TERMINAL to SBOHOST they appeared on the respective computers snapshot list under the respective language. Hopefully I haven't lost you.
Any help with this would be good, as so far all the notes on this tell me to re-create the snapshots, which hasn't helped so far.I too am having an issue with creating the default snapshots in B1 2007A PL35 (and BTW PL37)....
I can successfully create the snapshot on the first B1 client on my network, for every machine thereafter I get the following error when creating templates for English (US).... This message is a pain, when you have many machines and users ask why the create snapshot templates window appears each time they log on.
This is the Error Message:
Failed to create template 'Executive customer (by Business Partner)'
My observations regarding the solution are identical but one of the proposed solutions won't work, at least not as is...
As you said It looks like it cannot create the entries in the @BOOSTP because of the unique constraint on Index [@BOOSTPBOOSTPI1] which does not include the new field.
[U_Host] ASC cannot be added to the index because it is of type nvarchar(max), see error below:
*Column 'U_Host' in table 'dbo.@BOOSTP' is of a type that is invalid for use as a key column in an index.*
The only way to make this work is to change U_HOST it to a nvarchar(100) and then you would be allowed to add the U_Host to the index. SAP probably needs to make this decidion, I doubt they would support this work around, so temporarily disabling the index appears to be is the way to go....
Why isn't SAP testing well before release? This seems like something that should have been caught.

Description of requirements: The problem with the SAP outlook integration is that the LoadBehavior in HKLM for the add-on is set automatically to 3 when outlook is started. This makes it impossible to control whether the add-on is
loaded into outlook by specifying the LoadBehavior in HKCU. We're wondering if this is possible to
change.
Business needs: The customer need a change in this addon so that the settings are set to each user and not to the server, as it is today. This is VERY important, so it would be great if this addon could be changed.
Current Workaround: They can't see any other solution but to change the outlook integration.
Proposed solution: Please read the description of requirements.

I have Installed SAP Business One 2005B PL38.
I have installed Outlook Integration Addon Version 6.80.01.60.
The requirment is like this.
I open Outlook and Login to SAP Business One.
I could create quotation and Synchronise this with SAP B1.
Now, my client requirement is to work with Outlook Integration Addon
Offline.
ie., Without logging into SAP B1 from Outlook, he wants to create
Quotation. So later, he may login and synchronise the quotation with
SAP B1.
The question is that if it is possible to create quotations from
Outlook without logging on to SAP Business One.
I believe the Outlook Standalone installation can do that. Is this

Unfortunatley this is not possible - the only difference between Outlook Integration and Outlook Integration standalone is that you can install the standalone version on a PC without having the Business One Client installed (i.e it's not an Addon)
Neither version will work offline unfortunatley, for this you'll need something like Amodat but that is a fairly costly solution - if you are looking for something cheap (free) and (relativley) easy to implement I would suggest doing something like this
-Make up a template in Excel for entering Quotes
-Create a mailbox in the organisation for receiving these excel files via email
-Create an automated process (via scripting, etc) to dump these Excel files to CSV format or into a Database
-Automate the Data Transfer workbench to import this data into SAP.
It's messy, and you get little or no error feedback, but it is possible. -
Outlook 2013 - Online Archive folders do not remember expand / collapse
For our QA group, we have just upgraded them from Office 2010 to Office 2013 SP1. We have one user that noticed something. With Outlook 2010, the client would remember which folders he had expanded or collapsed under his "Archive" (the online archive
generated by the Archiving feature of Exchange server). However, once we upgraded him to Outlook 2013, this is no longer true. Now, the "Online Archive" header is fully collapsed when he open Outlook every time.
To test, I created a small folder structure with some items in my own "Online Archive" section and was able to reproduce this behavior. Outlook 2013 will remember which folders are expanded or collapsed for the folders in my Inbox but not for the
folders in my Archive. Is there a way to have Outlook 2013 remember the expand / collapse settings for the Archive?Hi,

Tracking emails sent through SAP using Outlook Integration
Hello experts,
I have a question regarding Outlook Integration.
Can emails through SAP be tracked using SAP?
The customer is using Outlook Integration. When an email (containing an invoice for example) is sent through, the email is stored in the users sent folder in Outlook.
Is there a way that SAP can track all sent emails through SAP through an activity or some other feature?

The e-mail send to outlook integration is a manually executed task from within SAP Business One.
Unfortunately in the current release, there is no automation built in.
Please refer to The SP_TransactionNotification Stored Procedure
There is an option for post (after the transaction os added in SBO) transaction notification that can be used, that you can query information and despatch via an email.
Note that you need to configure the SQL mailer as well for this to work effectively.

downloaded mt lion on my iMac, now when i start the computer my outlook email automatically opens. When I right click on the mail icon it isn't checked to open on startup. How do i correct this
This is probabaly caused by the resume feature. When you log out, uncheck the box that appears.

few of the tables in our application will have lot of records (data) and after some days/ months it might slog the performance cos of the table/db size, and also the old data will not be of much interest (but data cannot be purged/deleted until some years). Hence want to archive the old data (trigger conditions specified by the user) and will be needed to bring data back programatically whenever the user queries for the data belonging to that particular period(archived data).
