Disable Press Ok To Watch

Hello, I am new to the att u-verse, and i am curious is here a way to disable this menu, i find it whoever decide that menu should get seriously fired. Why would i power on my tv just to be ask if i wanna watch tv? like how does that make any sense there not even a logic behind it. People tell me to just switch to TV and when im done watching to just turn the tv off leaving the box on, which i have done but my box automatically turns off after some point in the day. Now it not the fact that it just 1 menu, i watch the same channel everyday and the probability of me changing to a different channel is close to .01% The provider which i had before is TWC is was pretty much turn on and done, i switch to ATT cause it was cheaper. I mean unless ATT is trying to tell us "well you get what you pay for". My grandpa is like 89 years old and for 40 years with twc all he had to do is push power and bam he on his channel. Switching to ATT is constantly nag me about what the stupid menu "Press Ok to watch tv". He even says there is no logic behind having a screen that ask to watch tv when obviously i hit power on the remote to watch tv. He old and has no idea what he doing 99% of the time, He just wanna watch tv, everytime that menu comes up he think the tv down or something and doesnt even bother watching which is a waste of money. People pay for the service to use the service.  So i am suggesting 3 option which i know ATT doesn't probably give a rats butt about us. 1: Allow us to leave the box on 24/72: Get Rid of the "Press Ok to watch TV"  or  3: Leave the stupid screensaver up but have it automatically closed after 3 sec I wanna know if the CEO of ATT ever wonder why he or she is told to watch tv press ok, when technically speaking if someone picks up a remote especially the remote for the cable box to turn it on they obvously wanna watch tv. It would make more sense if the tv was turned on by the TV remote not by the u-verse box and it was asked that.

Can't do anything about it as that's what gets ATT the Energy Star for it's equipment.

  • "Press Menu to Watch Fios TV" logo-turned off but came back!

    I hated that logo that would appear when I would turn my TV on that says "Press menu to watch Fios TV. Otherwise turn your TV off." I looked through all the settings and options and finally found out how to get rid of it. I don't remember where I found it but it had options for that logo to come on after certain time intervals or to never come on. So I changed it to never and it stopped coming on for awhile.
    Unfortunately, now it's back! I found that option again, assuming it had somehow been changed but it was still set to never come on. So why is it coming on again? I wouldn't mind so much if it weren't for the fact that I tape some things on VHS. Ok, you can stop laughing now about the fact that I use VHS. I have my reasons though it's not worth taking the time to explain. Anyway, the problem is that if that logo is on while the VHS is taping, all it tapes is the logo, not the show I had programmed to tape.
    Does anyone have any idea why this logo came back, even though the setting is still set to not have it appear and what I can do to fix this problem?
    Thank you!

    Depends on what model box you have.
    But generally, look for screen saver.
    Also, no real advantage to turn the box off.
    Doesn't save any energy.

  • Apple TV resets crashes when you press menu while watching show.

    This is a post for anyone else having the same problem.
    Situation
    Turned on 'Unwatched' filter for my TV Shows.
    Watched a TV Show.
    Pressed Menu to exit the TV show during the last 5% of the show.
    Expected Behaviour
    I expected that I would return to the listing of episodes for that season.
    Actual Behaviour
    The Apple TV restarts/resets itself.
    Reason
    It seems that the AppleTV tries to exit to the show listing and mark the show as watched. However, it can't show you a show that has been watched, so instead it pulls the rug out from under its own feet and falls over...
    That is ridiculously bad beta testing on the part of the AppleTV development team.
    Fix
    Don't use the unwatched filter until Apple fixes this. OR
    FastForward in order to exit the show...This then exits to the show list, but marks the show as unwatched.
    P.S. Don't be clever and try and mark a show as 'watched' while you have the unwatched filter on. You get the same crash.

  • How to disable press and hold?

    Hello,
    Press and hold in non-active regions in FlashPlayer 6 in the
    Windows Mobile environment results in a right-click action, which
    brings up a context menu. I would like to disable this feature. It
    seems that the capability is controlled in FlashPlayer rather than
    in Windows Mobile, as press and hold in any other application does
    not result in a right-click action, only in Flash.
    I suppose there are ways around it, like making the entire
    background a "button" that doesn't do anything, but would prefer
    something cleaner.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

    you havent said what phone you are using
    you can do it on the N80 via the multimedia key config settings (i have mine set to launch LCG Jukebox instead)

  • Press "c" to watch in HD option is gone.

    up until this morning when i tuned to a SD channel the info box would give me the option to press c to change to the HD channel.  It is now gone and pressing "c" does nothing.  Not sure if one of my kids did something but i cant get it back.  i tried a few of the guide options with no luck.

    All
    To bring back the C button or if you have scheduled recordings for tonight (3/18 7pm - 3/19 11am) on the impacted channels
    To correct you can a) launch guide b) do day+ (fast forward button on remote) to advance in the guide all the way 3/30--- this will force the box to download new version of guide data. Other option is to do a quick reboot STB.
    If you STB is impacted Do NOT create new schedule recordings. You can schedule manual recording.
    Issue will auto correct if the above outlined steps are taken or by tomorrow morning 11am local time. If new schedule recordings were created you would have to recreate it once this step is done or in the morning.
    Not all channels have been impacted...to check if your series has been impacted go to DVR -> Series Manager -> Highlight the series . In the right pane for the show if you see the channel # as 0 -- this means you are impacted.

  • What does the "remove option : press C" do in IMG 1.9?

    I've noticed that you can press the "c" button to remove the option of a program in IMG 1.9.
    What does it do? I don't see anything happening.
    Is there a IMG 1.9 guide online somewhere? IMG 1.9 seems to have new features, and I'd like to have a better idea of what they are.

  • Is there a way to mute video in FaceTime while watching the video of the person you are calling using the MacBook Pro?

    I am using FaceTime to look in on a meeting being held on the other end, but I don't want the people on the other end to be able to see me. Is there a way to disable the camera while watching on FaceTime on my MacBook Pro?

    First of all, if you want to run video inside a .pdf on an iPad, you should be aware that the Adobe Tablet and Mobile reader does NOT support rich media ( audio or video ).  Despite trying to encourage Adobe to 'get real', it seems that they have no intention to do so in the short term.  SO ... I have been working with a company called Readdle, and beta testing their 'PDF Expert' application, and it is probably the most sophisticated .pdf  reader for iOS on the market.
    It supports rich media, and certain levels of JavaScript that are particularly useful for this kind of work.
    However, if all you want to do is insert video into a single .pdf document, that will run on iOS ( with 'PDF Expert only' ) as well as desktop Mac or PC, the video needs to be h264 .mp4 format ( basically avoid ANY based Flash content for iOS ).
    You should also note, that active Buttons ( not hyperlinks, which are different ) which you might wish to create in say InDesign or even Acrobat, need to be made up of just imagery (and that also means converting your text to outlines ).  However, this is only necessary for iOS with PDF Expert.  Also be aware that I have not done much work which includes .pdf on Android.
    I do think though that if you stick with basic navigation, avoid active 'Layers' authoring and only want to run simple video, the h264 .mp4 encoding is going to work across ALL platforms.

  • How to create a Watch List using JSF

    I'd like to build a HTML UI which includes the toggling of items from a watch list. For example, stocks or system alerts which are important to the user. First of all are there any JSF example which demonstrate this type of application? What is the best approach for building such an interface so that individual lines can be added and removed from the watch list and the view mode can be toggled from watch list only items to all items?
    I've looked at the data repeater component example and tried to make that work for this purpose but I'm struggling with some of the details and wondering if the approach taken is good or if there is a better approach. Basically what I have is a List of line items held in a managed bean class. This List is associated to my repeater's value tag. The managed bean also has a UIData element and a UISelectBoolean with the former associated to the repeater's binding and the latter associated to a invisible selectboolean_checkbox (rendered="false").
    As the user presses an "Add" watchlist button with an action of toggleWatch the UISelectedBoolean.setSelected (onWatchList) is toggled between true and false for the current UIData.getRowIndex(). However, in tracing the code with a debugger, I see as the component tree is rendered that suddenly all UIData rows appear to have their onWatchList.isSelected() toggled to the new value.
    Additionally, when I toggle between the view modes of show watchlist and show all my method to determine what gets rendered doesn't appear to have any effect. This is, when pressing the Show Watch button, the viewType is set to "watch" and then a setRendered method is called to setRendered() for each UIData row as follows. Again, this appears to have no effect.
    public void setRendered()
    for (int i=0; i< myList.size(); i++)
    data.setRowIndex(i);
    if ( viewType.equals("watch") && !onWatchList.isSelected() ) <-UISelectBoolean type
    data.setRendered(false);
    else if ( viewType.equals("raised") && !raised.isSelected() )
    data.setRendered(false);
    else
    data.setRendered(true);
    Am I making this too hard or am I just missing something minor???

    Upon further debugging it looks like the current issues may be caused by only one onWatchList (UISelectBoolean) existing instead of one for each row in the UIData group. So, what builds the association here? In the RepeaterBean example class the checked UISelectBoolean is simply declared as a instance variable but is never associated to the UIData. How are these glued together?
    Of course, I'm still wondering if the is a much better / easier way to get the same results...

  • Weird tty console problem if I leave X (e g I press ctrl+alt+F1)

    Hello,
    I have a weird problem with my console.  When I leave Xorg, by pressing ctrl+alt+F1 for example to get to a console, the console is a horrible mess.  It is a working console, but it looks so terrible you cannot recognize a single character.  Little multi-colored squares are all around the screen and some are blinking representing the cursor.  The conosle however, still works as I can blindly type things like top and press enter and watch the squares dance as top runs.
    Anyone heard of this problem before?
    Thanks and sorry for posting so much in the forums,

  • What is watch point and break points?what are there types?

    what is watch point and break points?what are there types?

    Static Breakpoints
    Static breakpoints are always user-independent if there is no specification of a user name. Once a user has inserted the statement BREAK-POINT or BREAK name in an ABAP program, the system always interrupts the program at that point for that user or only for the user name. This procedure is only useful in the development phase of an application when program execution is always to be interrupted at the same place. For more information, refer to the chapter Static Breakpoints.
    In HTTP sessions, a static breakpoint is skipped if you did not set additional dynamic HTTP breakpoints in the editor of a BSP page. Instead, a corresponding system log entry is written, which can be checked using transaction SM21.
    Dynamic Breakpoints
    Dynamic breakpoints are user-specific. Therefore, you should use them if you only want the program to be interrupted when you run it yourself, not when it is being executed by other users. All dynamic breakpoints are deleted when you log off from the R/3 System.
    Dynamic breakpoints are more flexible than static breakpoints because you can deactivate or delete them at runtime. They have the following advantages:
    · You do not have to change the program code.
    · You can set them even when the program is locked by another programmer.
    · You can define a counter that only activates the breakpoint after it has been reached.
    Special dynamic breakpoints are useful when you want to interrupt a program directly before a particular ABAP statement, a subroutine, or an event, but do not know exactly where to find it in the source code. Event here is used to refer to the occurrence of a particular statement, for example, or calling up a method. Special dynamic breakpoints are user-specific. You can only set them in the Debugger. For more information, refer to the chapter Dynamic Breakpoints.
    In HTTP sessions, the system stops both at static and dynamic breakpoints if a dynamic breakpoint was set in the editor of a BSP page before program execution.
    Watch point are used to put logical break point for a certain condition..Example..If you want to know when the internal table is getting append..Then you have to give the program name and the internal table in the watch point..
    Steps to create a watch point.
    Start debugging '/H'.
    In the debugging screen press the create watch point button in the application tool bar..
    In the program give the program name..
    in the field give the field name.
    In the relational operator given '='
    In the comp. field/value give the value ..
    Hope this helps..

  • Intunes won't start - no error message

    I have two problems:
    a. my iPod has been frozen for about three weeks now.
    b. iTunes 7 will not start
    more information:
    a. The iPod began freezing for a few seconds at a time, unfreezing itself randomly if I kept spinning my finger around the buttons. The frozen time kept getting longer and longer, until it reached its permanent state of unresponsiveness. It seems that it may think it's stuck on "hold" for some reason. Anyway, this is not the iPod forum, so to make a long story short, I've tried every possible solution I could find to unfreeze my iPod, except the "restore" option, which I need iTunes 7 to ultilize.
    b. After trying to update to iTunes 7, I double click on the icon, and I get an hourglass for a few seconds, then nothing. If I press ctrlaltdel and watch it in the "processes" tab, it disappears after about two seconds from the processes list after double clicking. I get no error messages.
    Quicktime 7 works fine.
    iTunes 6 still works on my commputer, but I have tried every way of installing iTunes 7 I could think of or find, without success, including:
    1. uninstalling every iTunes/Quicktime component I could find on my hard drive. I've followed the directions here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976 as well as searching my hard drives for any files that might might be associated with iTunes or quicktime. also tried following directions here http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302386
    2. I read in one discussion forum that a virus protection program may be the culprit. I have McAfee Internet Security Center 2006. I tried disabling that before I installed, and when that didn't work, I tried uninstalling the anti-virus software, restarting, then installing iTunes, which didn't work either.
    I've spent about 14 hours so far trying every possible way I could think of to install iTunes differently, or change any settings that might be conflicting, to no avail.
    I really hate Apple right now.
      Windows XP Pro

    Hi alphaleonis,
    Your situation is very frustrating. I hope I can help. Here are 2 other thing to try.
    1) Install from a new XP user as a permissions or user issue test
    2) If you had not specifically done so, per the article, Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime software in Windows, reference to "see 'Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows' for assistance disabling conflicting processes.", follow KB 302538 after complete uninstall of the Apple Software Update, iTunes, Quicktime and any iPod Updater software you still have installed.
    Then attempt install of iTunes from itunessetup.exe saved locally to your desktop. Do not use the RUN option, use save.
    Hope this helps,

  • Samsung Smart TV Remote and Standby Mode

    Hi All - A few months ago I got a Samsung Smart TV that came with a pretty nice remote. It really can control almost all aspects of the FiOS service, but there are a few commands I cannot figure out how to get it to send to the FiOS STB.
    First off, when I power on the TV, the STB is still in Stanby mode. It asks for me to "Press Menu to Watch ...". I cannot figure out how to get the Samsung remote to send that command or to disable standby mode on the STB. There is no menu button on this remote that's not TV-specific.
    Second, I can't figure out how to bring up the full guide using the remote. By pressing the "up" direction on the four-way button, I get some smaller version of a guide, but I would prefer to see the standard full screen guide.
    Finally, is there a way to get to the On Demand and DVR menus using the Samsung remote?
    Anway, that's the the scoop. Most other featuers (DVR, etc) work pretty well.
    The remote I'm using is a RMCTPF1AP1 and the STB is running version 1.9.7 and build 19.45. It's a QIP7232.
    Thanks in advance for any guidance on getting this working.
    Dave

    I'm not sure if you are turning the STB off or if the idle timer is doing it.
    No reason to turn the STB off as it doesn't save any energy.
    So leaving it on would alleviate one issue.

  • More issues - freezing screens remote not working

    this is becoming silly now
    scenario-
     im on bbc1 i press ok whilst watching to get to the 'short' guide that appears at the bottom of the screen and lets you search  through channels etc
    i flick throught the small guide and seach through to a different channel, see an interesting programme and press the info button
    the summary page pops up (the one that lets you see programme info and record options etc) but then freezes and disables the remote, leving only the standyby button working.  even if i turn it off by stanby when i turn it on the summary page is still stuck ontop of bbc1 i was watching.     only removing the plug seems to resolve this.
    rathther annoying!  anyone else notice this?

    I also have this issue. I have reproduced my issue by going to the EPG, selecting a programme, pressing Info, toggling between Details and Summary, and then pressing Close. At this point the Info box remains on the screen and the remote is locked up - I have to turn the box off with the switch on the back to fix it.
