Disable read mode by default during installation

I am currently trying to disable read mode by default as a part of the software installation.
I have searched the msi file using the customization wizard but have not found any part of it that refers to this setting.
Is there a reg key or a setting in the MSI I can change to disable this setting?
Edit:
This is for Reader X

I have been able to figure out the answer, so I'll put it into here in case anyone else wants to do this.
The following registry key has to be added to the msi or mst
HKCU > Software > Adobe > Acrobat Reader > 10.0 > AVGeneral
Dword - bBrowserDisplayInReadMode = 0

i want to know that is oracle user and its groups already created by default during installation of OEL 5.5 ??Why would it? It's just an operating system. It doesn't know or care what applications you may or may not choose to install at any time in the future after it (the OS) is installed, nor does it know or care about the requirements of any application you may choose to install at any time in the future.

  • Disabling touch mode by default for Reader XI

I am looking to turn off touch mode by default for Reader XI.  I tried the customization wizard and there is no settings for touch mode.  The registry keys for the settings are in the local user area so I don't think I can apply those for everyone.
Has anyone else looked into this or know a solution?

You can set how Acrobat enters Touch mode, if at all, for touch enabled-devices.
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Acrobat/Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac OS).
    Under Categories, select General.
In Basic Tools, choose the desired default setting from the Touch Mode menu.

  • Disable reader mode on Firefox Android for specific website/page/category?

    Hi!
Is it possible to disable Firefox reader mode on Android version of browser for specific pages or category of my website. I have some technical pages such as payment page and I do not want users to be able to turn on reader mode (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-use-reader-mode) on this page.
    Kind Regards,

The way to avoid reader mode is to provide a mobile view of the page.

  • How to set "Read mode" as default view for a pdf?

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to open a pdf in "Read mode" (to get the floating toolbar) whenever an user open it in Acrobat Reader. Is there anyway to set this option in the pdf like "Open in full screen mode"?
    Or
Can we add any little javascript to acheive this?
    Or
Is there any other way to get the floating toolbar and add it into the pdf whenever we require?
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Muthuraj. D

No. Read Mode is a choice made by the user, nothing in the document can force it to happen.
There is no scripting or API access to the heads-up-display "floating toolbar".

  • Disable Reader mode and enable the tool bar across the top

I need to know how to basically make Reader 10.1 look like the older versions before reader mode.  I have found the registry key and the option under preferences to turn off Reader mode but these settings do not turn the old tool bar back on with out hitting F8.
This is also for a install on a 2008R2 Sp1 server with XenApp 6., so it is also for a multiuser enviroment.

It is possible by implicit enhancements.
In the program MF05AFSENJ, at the end of the routine SET_EXCTAB implement an implicit enhancement.
Based on the conditions, add the OK code for save (BU) in the internal table EXCTAB.
    IF <condition>.
      EXCTAB-OKCOD = 'BU'.
      APPEND EXCTAB.
    ENDIF.

  • How to open pdf in acrobat reader in read mode by default?

    Thanks for your quick feedbacks.

    PDL,
Am getting the Error "No form is open in the Acrobat viewer" while trying to instantiate fields list inside the form via an AcroForms object. The problematic code snippet is given below
    iPDDoc->Open("PDFFileName")
    iAVDoc->AttachDispatch(PDDoc->OpenAVDoc("PDFFileName")), true);
    ipFormApp->CreateDispatch("AFormAut.App", &OleExc)
    i pFields = new IFields(pFormApp->GetFields());
The GetFields method is giving error in Acrobat 9 but its working fine in Acrobat 7 and 8.
Since the AV layer methods are working fine in Acrobat 7 and 8, please let me know why they are not working in Acrobat 9 and if there is any workaround.
Also, if I use only PD Layer methods, can I access the form fields inside the PDF?

  • Internet Read Mode Install Parameter

Is there an install parameter for Reader X for "Internet - Disp
lay in Read Mode by default" turned off?

As it's already been 9 days since I posted this and more things have happened, I'd like to close this post. As I've brought back the Macbook to another Apple Store, they would tell me that the Logic Board is broken. After all, the Apple people aren't always right and my first assumption seemed to be true and it was not the harddrive.
Anyhow, problem is not solved, but at least I know now what's going on.

  • Acrobat Reader X Disable Protection mode

    Hi All,
i need some help with this freaky Acrobat Reader X version.
We have currently  ~1000 computers with different old versions of AR (form 6 to 9)
We need to upgrade to 10.0.1 version all PC's
Will use SCCM for distributing the package.
OK... everything here seems good but ... a lot of problems and erros appear.
First we've installed on test group of 10 pc's the AR 10.0.0
all users start complainig that they can't open the pdf's from our file servers.
Solution - bring the patch 10.0.1
After that all users start complaining that they can't print - Windows Error - Acrobat need to be closed !
    Solution - Protection mode disabled.
    My questions :
    1. How can I distribute both the Package of Acrobat and the update together with SCCM
All my tries and reaings failed !!!
i've try different methods and no success
    msiexec /i /q \\server\d$\Workstation Baseline\AcrobatReaderX\AcroRead.msi TRANSFORMS="AcroRead.mst" PATCH=\\server\d$\Workstation Baseline\AcrobatReaderX\adbeRdrUpd1001_Tier1.msp
this do not work for me This is in SCCM program
    2. How can i disable through Adobe Wizard the Protection Mode ?
I know how to do it manually but is not acceptable this way - i can't communicate with 1000 users to do this manually
I know how to disable it from registry with GPO , but i can't disable it before installation, also i can't disable it on all PC's after installation, because it will take several days to complete for all pc's and this "hole" of some days will stop the work of our end-users.
Any fresh ideia is wellcome. Also any help
    Thanks

    hey,
had similar issues with protection mode.
found we can do it 2 ways, 1. via registry entry, or 2. via an ADM.
sorry cannot remember the referenced posts for the fixes below...
we use the adm so that users cannot change it, and so that updates dont reset it.
note that the adm has only a few settings, and i dont know the code for any other settings.
    1. - REG method:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\10.0\FeatureLockDown]
    "bProtectedMode"=dword:00000000
REM: Above line Disables Protected Mode on startup
    2. - ADM Template method
please note, just copy and paste into a text file and rename as .adm.
remember that on the last section of the code below, change the "YOUR HEADER HERE" bit to what you want to use to find it in the GPO manager once you add the template.

  • Disable AutoAnalyzer as default during setup.

I was wondering if there is a way to have auto-analyzer disabled by default during the setup process, so that different user's won't have to disable it themselves?

You mean as part of the installation process?
That would be more of a programming question for a Adobe. This is just a user-to-user forum.

  • Why isn't dhcp set as default in rc.conf during installation?

Seems to me that it should be. Thoughts?

    As far as I'm concerned:
I don't know if this is the issue that the OP is referring to, but something like this happened to me during a few installs (non-FTP): the default rc.conf had some completely arbitrary static IP address defined and enabled by default.  I always thought that the 'dhcp' option (and perhaps a static IP example commented out for reference) would have been a better default setting -- just a simple way to make many if not most network setups work out of the box.  The arbitrary static IP configuration is unlikely to work on too many systems, so I could never quite figure out what it was doing there enabled by default.
It's mostly an aesthetic preference.  Like I said -- it's not a huge issue, I usually just change the whole thing when I edit rc.conf during installation.

  • Change Default Media Location During Installation

    Hello Everyone,
I'm currently working on installing iTunes using command lines to push it to multiple computers in the organization I work for. However, we would like to change the default media location to C:/iTunes (as an example) during installation, instead of it being created in \\server\user\music\iTunes (example). We'd like to change it so it's not storing files on the server and not taking up space on people's personal work shares.
I searched other discussions and Google'd it, but I couldn't find a definitive answer.
We use Windows 7 x64 operating system if that needs to be known.

Hmm, no one here has any idea if this can be done?

Can't open web pdf files from my newly installed Reader DC because my IMac wants a completed license to use agreement to Reader, and I never saw that page during installation.  How do I get past this?

You need to accept the EULA on first launch of the Reader DC application.
Go to the Applications folder and launch Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.
This will bring up the EULA.
Select the "Agree" button if you agree with the terms
Assuming you selected the "Agree" button, Reader DC should open.
You should now be able to open PDF files in your web browser.
