Disable Schema check in Oracle Directory Server

How does one disable schema checking in Oracle Directory Server. I couldnt figure it out. This is easily done in openLDAP , netscape LDAP server.
null

I am sorry if I wasn't clear. In Netscape/openLDAP , the term schemacheck implies. ( from open LDAP documentation ).
Option : schemacheck { on | off }
This option turns schema checking on or off. If schema checking is on, entries added or modified will be checked to ensure they obey the schema rules implied by their object class(es) as defined by the corresponding objectclass option(s). If schema checking is off this check is not done.
Default: on
The default is on in Oracle.
Thanks in advance ,
Ravi

    Hello,
    Yes you can use nsAccountLock directly (When nsAccountLock=true, the object is inactivated and the user cannot log in)
    This is documented in Modifying Directory Server’s NsAccountLockAttribute Directly (Sun Java System Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6.2 In…  (release number is old but it does not matter, Thats the first one Ive found)
    You can also use dsutil account-inactivate as described in dsutil - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0)

  • Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition is free?

    As we known that Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition was available free of charge for perpetual usage in individual, commercial, service provider, or research and instructional environments, but Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition is still free?

    No, Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition comes with a different pricing mechanisms called "Oracle Directory Services Plus":

    I have a production environment with Netscape 4.12 Directory Server running. I need to migrate the production DS schema to a development server which hosts an Sun One 5.2 Directory Server.
    How to perform this task. Thnaks in Adv.

    Its going to be a manual process.
    You need to identify what schema is missing, look up what that schema is on 4 then add it manually on 5.
    There is no automated way to do it.
    The easiest way to identify schema problems is to create a DS5 server instance and try to load an LDIF dump from DS4 into it. Just tackle the errors that you see, one by one ...

  • How can I import Openldap schema into sun one directory server?

    Hello All
    I have a schema which was written for openldap, and I want to import this schema into sun directory server. I found that some attribute syntaxes, like "NumericString", are not exist in sun directory server and some attribute definitions are also different. For example, the "internationaliSDNNumber" in sun directory is defined in "IA5String" syntax, but it is "NumericString" in openldap. Is there any effect on querying data from two different ldap server? How can I solve this problem?
    Thank you!

    GaryThanks! But after I use some of scripts in that page, I got
    "Unknown attribute syntax OID "1.3.6.1.4.1.1466.115.121.1.36"
    It seems those scripts only transform schema file format, not the gap between different type(attribute syntax). Is it possible to import or add new type(attribute syntax) in sun one directory server?
    Thanks.

  • Do you know if Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition (11.1.1.7.0) runs fine with JDK 1.7?

    I work in HSGBU and i'm looking to install both ODSEE and Cognos 10 on the same server. Cognos requires JDK 1.7 and in order to enable Cognos Software to find the necessary Java components when it runs, one must set the JAVA_HOME to 1.7

    Hello,
    Yes, it does.
    Note that the ODSEE directory server does not depends on Java, but the Admin Console (DSCC) does.

  • Sun Directory Server: Disabling and Locking Accounts

    Folks,
    Have some questions about disabling and locked accounts on Directory Server v5.2. Seems like a password policy would be the way to go, but these are my requirements:
    1. Automatically disable accounts for that weren’t used (password expired) in the previous two calendar years.
    2. Automatically, on a nightly bases, disable accounts for which a temporary password was not changed in 30 days.
    How exactly can I configure this? Also, this is Sun ONE DS 5.2...running on Windows 2003. :)
    Many thanks...

    Your goals seem to be good candidates for custom scripts. AFAIK, the password policy comes into effect only when a BIND is attempted. It's not designed to walk the entries and disable accounts.

  • Access Manager Failed to Connect to Directory Server

    Dear All,
    I have problem with Directory Server connection in Access Manager. This happened in Production site, all application that integrated with Oracle Access Manager (OAM) for Single Sign On are not accessible after the Directory Server connection problem occur in OAM. The problem has only started occurring suddenly, before it the all service including the OAM and Directory Server is running well. Below are the error messages that appear in WebGate log file (ohs1.log) and OAM log file (oblog.log) :
    >> OHS/WebGate (ohs1.log) :

    The OAM using the Load Balancer between the LDAP Directory Server to OAM's component. When the error appears, there are no problem with the Load Balancer and all of Directory Sever services is up. There are two Directory Server servers in Multi Master Replication and 14 WebGate servers that integrated with OAM. Is there a limitation number of WebGate for integrated to the OAM?
    I have tried to set some parameters in OAM configuration to solve this problem. I set the Maximum Connection of Directory Server parameter to 10 value (in OAM Console), the LDAPOperationTimeout paramater to 1 hour value and the LDAPMaxNoOfRetries parameter to 2 value (in the globalparams.xml). After set these parameters, the error is not appear in some days, but suddenly appear again in the same error message. May be set these parameters is not appropriate solution for the problem or the value that I set is not correct. Any experience with this?
    I still don't know what the root cause of this problem. Restart all of OAM services (including the WebGate) is temporary solution when the error appear.
    Any idea for this problem?
    Thanks in advice.

    Hi Jun-Y,
    Thank you for your answer.
    What do you means with the Directory Server's idle timeout is the "Idle Timeout" parameter in LDAP Client Control Settings?
    I use Oracle Directory Server Enterprise 11.1.1.5.0. Now, the Directory Server's idle timeout parameter is "unlimited" value.
    If the idle timeout of the load balancer set 1 hour, it means that I must change the directory server's idle timeout to be less than 1 hour. Isn't right?

  • Change Directory server for Portal Server 6.2

    Hi there,
    I have the following problem with Portal Server 6.2 configuration which hopefully someone here will be able to help me with.
    Basically our current setup is the Sun Portal Server 6.2, ID server 6.1 and Directory server all sitting on one (Solaris 9) box. We now wish to separate the Portal / ID server components and the Directory Server component to separate boxes. In portal server 6.0 i think there was a pssetup tool which allowed configuration of a directory server which populated it with the necessary data for portal and ID server. The directory server we will be installing to will not necessarily be a clean install, i.e. it may already be populated with data.
    Is there some way therefore to re-configure the existing directory server to allow us to point our portal / ID server at it?
    Thanks in advance for any help
    Laurence.

    This can be done. You need to import the portal/identity server's schema into your new directory server and then export your existing directory server's content and import it into the new one.

  • Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.3.0 OC4J Restarting

    Oracle ADF application is deployed to the AS from JDeveolper 10.1.3.3.0 and runs fine initially but after continual use the OC4J returns a runtime exception and restarts.

Then after say 15mins the page returns Internal Server Error message at which time I check the Oracle app server ctrl to find the error below. That error is displayed in the actual app server ctrl page.

    Greetings,
    First I would recommend turning up your logging level to FINEST to glean more informatin regarding the error that is occurring. Please post these data along with any related Messaging service configuration information. It is possible that two services are attempting to make the same connection and it is causing one or the other to fail. You might also review the information in your opmn config file. Does the 10.1.2.2 instance remain running during the OC4j restart?
    OPMN Configuration:
    10.1.20 How to Specify Ports for State Replication in OPMN
    When you deploy an application utilizing state replication in a managed Oracle Application Server, OPMN dynamically allocates the ports that are used to propagate state across the cluster. You can restrict this allocation to a range of ports for an application that has peer-to-peer replication enabled. Specifying ports for state replication might be necessary in an installation with a firewall or network that uses a well-defined port range.
    To specify a range of ports for peer-to-peer state replication
    Add a <port> element to an OC4J instance configuration in the opmn.xml file.
    Specify the name of an application that has peer-to-peer replication enabled as the value of the id attribute of the <port> element.
    Specify a range of ports in the range attribute of the <port> element.
    For example, for deployment of an application named rac-web that is set up for peer-to-peer replication, the line labeled <port id=rac-web .../> in the following OC4J instance configuration tells OPMN to use ports 15213 to 15214 for state replication:
    <port id="default-web-site" range="80-100" protocol="http"/>
    <port id="rmi" range="12401-12500"/>
    <port id="rmis" range="12701-12800"/>
    <port id="jms" range="12601-12700"/>
    <port id="rac-web" range="15213-15214"/>
    For more information about state replication, see Chapter 9, "Application Clustering in OC4J," in the Oracle Containers for J2EE Configuration and Administration Guide.Quoted from:

  • Performance concern with directory server implementation

    performance concern with directory server implementation
    I first posted this at metalink forum, and was suggested to post it here instead.
    Hi,
    I'd like to get any feedback regarding performance of oracle directory server implementation. Below is what I copy&patested from 9i Net Services Administrator's Guide, I found no 'directory server vendor documentation', so anything regarding this is welcome too.
    Performance
    Connect identifiers are stored in a directory server for all clients to access.
    Depending on the number of clients, there can be a significant load on a directory
    server.
    During a connect identifier lookup, a name is searched under a specific Oracle
    Context. Because of the scope of the lookup, you probably want users to experience
    relatively quick performance so that the database connect time is not affected. Users
    may begin to notice slow connect times if lookups takes more than one second.
    You can resolve performance problems changing the network topology or
    implementing replication.
    See Also: Directory server vendor documentation for details on
    resolving performance issues
    Thanks.

  • Oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall withOUT Unbreakable ?

    In the Oracle Linux 5 (RHEL 5) world, we used to install an “oracle-validated” RPM to prep a box for the database software, as well as the middleware. It sets some tuneables, loads some dependencies and other good housekeeping.
    In the Linux 6 world, it appears that we now are supposed to use the “oracle-rdbms-server-11gR2-preinstall” RPM, but this also installs the Unbreakable kernel. Is there any such version of this RPM that will keep the RH Compatible kernel?

    Hi,
    My BI server stop suddendly when i tried to login with my LDAP username/pwd, it was working fine when i was using Adminsitrator/SADMIN, and when i tried to start it using ./run-sa.sh start it has the below error in the log:
    *[oraclebi@uschilxbit01 setup]$ ./run-sa.sh start*

    Please wait for a while for the Oracle BI Server to completely start.
    Execute the following command to check the Oracle BI Server logfile and see if it started.

    Anybody has faced a similair situation, what should i do now as i cannot connect online also as the server is down, should i delete the 'Web Catalog Group Assignment' & 'Site_Map_Key' initialization variables and upload the rpd again.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Hey Amit,
    I've encountered that problem in the past before with Oracle REL 5. If I remember correctly it's a bug and required a patch to be applied. Definitely search metalink 3. I'll do the same and see what I can turn up.
