Disable Security Code on Nokia E5-00

Hi I configured my nokia e5 exchange mail and it prompt me change the security code (alias lock code) and ever since, the cellphone locks itself after 40 minutes and I have to be entering the code when this happens, also it requests for the code when I turn on the device. I tried to disable it and is not letting me, it shows the error "Unable to unlock phone". Any ideas? will this require a hard reset?

if you get the PAK code for your phone from your service provider , you should be able to change/remove the security code !

If it doesn;t work then someone must ahve changed it. Anyway, the only other option is to get it reset at your local Nokia Care Point. You will need to bring proof of purchase with you.

My Nokia phone X2-01 seems to have a preset security code, although I have never set any codes nor pin codes since I purchased it. I just wanted to delete some message counters logs, but it asks me for security code when I select "clear counters menu". Is there any factory set - security code for Nokia phones?

If thats not the case then you may try the Software Recovery Tool. If that also doesn't help, an Authorised Care Point is the only place where the Code can be reset ..

If the security code is not the default 12345 then you'll have to take the phone and proof of ownership along to your nearest Nokia Care Point so that they can reset the security code.

a factory reset in this case would not work becoz u still need the security code to get the reset done...if u dont know what the security code is then u wont be able to proceed with the reset
u will have to take the phone to a nokia care point for assistance from a technician - locations are found by clicking the "contact us" link

Take your phone to your nearest Nokia authorized service/repair center, and they should be able to reset the phone and the security code along with that.
Find a repair center through the "Contact us" link at the upper right hand side of this page.

If you didn't change it, then someone else might have done it. Either try to find out what it is from your friends, in case they played a prank on you, or, as the last resort, take your phone to a Nokia Care Point along with the proof of purchase so that they can rule out the possibility of a stolen phone

Disable security code since ios 7 on ipad 2

After installing ios 7 on my wife's ipad 2 she was forced to create a 4 digit security code before logging in. She now has to enter this code every time she uses the device. Does anyone know of a way to disable this unwanted feature?

Settings app > General > Passcode Lock > Turn Off Passcode
I might suggest, however, that if the device ever leaves the home, you want that engaged. It is far from being an "unwanted feature". It is essential to the device's security.

Hi, I try to use the code - 12345 - as the security code as listed in my manual, but it just comes up with "code error".

A small number of new models, and I know that the 6500 is one, come with no preset security code - you have to enter one the first time you use any feature that requires it.
If you go to the Settings>Security>Access Codes menu and see the option "Create security code", then you still have none; but if you see "Change security code" instead, then somebody has already done the business and unfortunately, it is still a issue that your care point has to solve for you.

i read the FAQ of nokila web site for model 6300 it says default security code for nokia 6300 is "12345" where as when i try to activate call barring service it asks for " barring password" and takes only 4 digits please help me in finding the call barring password thanks

On a serious note.
If you have forgotten the code then you need to take it to a Nokia Care Point where they are able to remove it for you.
They will also remove all personal data stored on the phone at the same time as it needs completely erasing.
You will usually need a proof of purchase to prove the phone isnt stolen and you are trying to access it, and they will probably charge you for it as its not a warranty fault.

If that code does not work then it has been changed by someone.
You will have to take the phone to a nokia care point to get the code reset.
