Disable session lock screen

when i awaken from a suspend to disk i don't want to have to log in....
is there any way to disable it? i know this seems like a simple question... but help?

im using kdemod and  maybe session lock was not the proper term...
it's like a plasma login screen (it uses my plasma theme anyways) that forces me to log in. i mean i can still get in... it is just an annoyance.
here is the ouiput:
dmesg | grep resume -i
Command line: root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/8d9b5e49-d8c2-40c1-974b-3c850ea10366 resume=/dev/sda8 ro
Kernel command line: root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/8d9b5e49-d8c2-40c1-974b-3c850ea10366 resume=/dev/sda8 ro
PM: Starting manual resume from disk

  • I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I WANT TO DISABLE THE LOCK SCREEN CAMERA

I know I shall regret asking, but why does keeping the iPhone out of reach of your toddler imply it must also be out of reach of yourself?
I suppose not comepletely out of reach for me, but not out in the open. I would have to put my phone either on top of a high shelf, which I would need to get on a stoll myself to get to, or in a closet or inside a cabinet. The truth is that I spend most of my time at home in the same room as my daughter, which is the layroom, and there aren't really any places there to put my phone out of reach. Putting it our of reach for her would mean missing phonecalls myself.
This is beyond this topic of discussion, really and I'm sorry. My daughter had gotten used to the fact that if she did get a hold of my phone she couldn't do anythig with it. Now she's learned that she can take pictures if she gets a hold of the phone and it's a fight every time she "finds" my phone, because now she wants to be able to take pictures and it's tiring having to take it away from her, deal with the crying and screaming and also have to punish her for the offense. Again, this is getting way off topic.
My opinion on the actual topic of this discussion is that this "feature" shouldn't have been imposed on me, I should've been given a way to disable this feature. It was, in my opinion, not well thought out by apple and I really think we should get a new update that allows us to disable it. (already told apple what I thought, thank you).

  • Is there any way to disable the lock screen with out the screen staying on?

I know there is away to disable the pass lock but is there a way to disable the screen from locking every time the screen goes off? cause it's so much easier to just press the answer button than to slide it to unlock. phone versions iPhone 4s and iPhone 5c.

You're confusing a direct answer with a rude one.  Wjosten's reply wasn't rude.  It was accurate and direct, without any sugercoating.  You can't get the device to operate the way that you want (lock the screen, but not really 'lock' the screen).  It's not a 'screensaver' like on your computer.  It's a lock screen, designed to prevent accidental activation of the device screen, and possibly launching apps, making phone calls, etcetera.
If you want an option added that allows the device to do what you want, tell Apple.

Direct, accurate information.  That's what wjosten provided.

  • Disable  Lock Screen in Apple Music App

I play my iPhone on a speaker dock and Pandora and Audible Apps have an option to disable the Lock Screen while they play. Since it is on the speakers it is charging anyway so a logical choice.
This is so nice as it remains lit and album cover shows what is playing, time left, etc. When I play iTune I go through a backdoor fix and go to settings, set lockscreen to... (well you get it)
I find it interesting the 3rd pary Apps have this nice feature but iTunes itself doesn't.

  • Option to disable the "slide to call" feature for missed calls from lock screen

I realized that when the iphone (running iOS5) is locked, the“Slide to Call” allows anyone to make an outgoing call to the missed calls from a locked phone (with passcode). This may allow malicious and unwanted calls to be made from a locked phone by anyone having access to the phone and defeats the purpose of having the phone locked by a passcode.
Don't get me wrong, it is nice feature for people who don't care about locking their phone, but I believe there should be an option to disable the “slide to call” or at least require password before allowing the outgoing call to go through.
At this point the only option that I see is to disable the phone related notifications from lock screen, which prevents all phone related notifications to be displayed on lock screen (missed or voicemail). This is not a desired solution.....
This is the first time in the history of iOSes, that a user can make outgoing calls from a locked phone with a passcode. Even the voice commands (for dialling a number) have option to be disabled on locked screen.
I was wondering if anybody else feels the same way about this? or have a solution?

I share the same feeling with you about this issue.
Actually I was very surprised when I discovered that!
In addition to this, when you actually slide a missed call, it calls the person and when you end the call, the notification of the missed call is still present! So that person can be called again and again and again.
This is a serious issue that Apple has overlooked!
    Please secure the iOS 5.
    Thanks.

  • (SOLVED) Lock screen suddenly doesn't work as expected

It doesn't matter which lock screen (PIN, swipe, etc.) I choose, after the first unlock (after a reboot or change of lock screen), the phone no longer locks. Using the power button to lock doesn't work and I have the phone set to lock right away on sleep. It was working fine a few hours ago and there wasn't anything new I did to the phone.
    Any ideas?
    Solved!

Hello, I feel pretty dumb. I must've hit the "Disable lock screen" option in the BatteryBot Pro app by accident...I forgot it even had that option.
If anyone's curious how I solved this, I inspected system messages using OS Monitor while reproducing the problem (ie, flipping through lock screen options and turning off/on the screen) and kept seeing the app's name coming up as well as a few others. I'm not sure why it started disabling the lock screen today though; I'm pretty sure I didn't touch the app in the last couple days.
    Anyway, sorry for any inconvenience.

  • How to get back default Lock Screen Image of Windows 8.1

I recently upgraded windows 8 to Windows 8.1, but it reset my custom lock screen image .  I tried for default lock screen of windows 8.1.I can't find any default lock screen
images of windows 8.1 (Only custom images are available). How to get default lock screen images? Does any any one know? please help me..

The last "solution" works only for pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete and clicking
Lock. If you sign out of Windows and sign back in, that ghastly Windows 8.1 lock screen picture will come back.
You can delete the img100.png file from your WinSxS folder: right lick on this file, click Properties, click the Security tab, click Edit, click Add, type your Windows user name in the white rectangle under "Enter the object
name to select", click Check Names, click OK, then click Advanced, click Change, take ownership of the file, give yourself Full control over this file, click Apply and then OK. You may see your name three times in the Security tab (as user, administrator,
and yourself). Make sure that each instance has full Control
If this does not work, you can disable the Lock Screen: press Windows+R, type
gpedit.msc, click OK, in the Local Group Policy Editor window that opens click on Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Personalization, right click on the "Do not display the lock screen" option, click
Edit, check Enabled, then click Apply and OK.
This, however, is a workaround rather than a real solution, which, it seems, Microsoft does not have.
I have exactly the same issue with the horrid stripey thing. Furthermore, in Settings, Lock Screen Preview is completely blank both on current and past images.
I've tried all the tips I've found around the web with no success. I get the horrid stripey thing back.
I found this freeware called Lock Screen Customizer. Seems to work so far but time will tell. (Note that the download includes both win8 and win8.1 versions.)

  • Lumia 1020 lock screen

Just got my 1020. Love it.
But can't figure out how to disable the lock screen and the max timeout is 5 min.
I like to leave it plugged in on my desk all day and don't like keeping to have to unlock it. I prefer to lock it manually.
My 920 had "Never" as a timeout option. Why doesn't the 1020?

Bump, I just got the 1020 today and I was crestfallen to see that coming from the 920 I no longer have '30 mins.' and 'never' for the lock screen timeout.
Who controls this? AT&T or Nokia?
I have a feeling they (?) have done this because this screen is an AMOLED which may be more prone to burn in (I saw this burn in on my prior second gen. Focus S for the circular audio controls). The Focus S also only had 5 mins. as the max.

  • IMac Mavericks App Store Download Recycle on Lock Screen?

    Hello.
I've been searching for as precise a description of my issue as I could find, but haven't found it. So, I'm putting it here for commiseration and, mostly, help.
Brand new iMac, running Mavericks. In the App Store, clicked "Purchases." Started to download (via Wifi) what's needed. One or two of the smaller apps downloaded fine, but the larger ones (e.g. GarageBand, Keynote, and Final Cut Pro) kept "recyling," by which I mean, they would get a quarter or a third of the way done, then go right back to zero. AppleCare seemed to help by saying "It's really just downloading the larger applications in packets, so it's probably just going back to get the next packet and, when it does, it goes back to zero."). After doing a few things they suggested, it seemed to work a bit better, but that was not, in fact, the case.
This  morning, our Administrator (it's a corporate machine) went around our security by connecting my hard-wired to ethernet. The next larger app or two downloaded fine, but when I got to Final Cut, the same problem, again. Thinking the download may be recycling (going back to zero) on (or just before) lock screen, I disabled the lock screen password protection. Final Cut Pro is now about to finally finish downloading, all at once. There were no "recycling to get packets" or any other interruption of the process.
    Question:
Will app store downloads be interrupted when the computer goes to lock screen? This seems to be the case. If this is, in fact, true, what can I do to fix this? I'd prefer not to have to disable the lock screen each time I wish to download a large file. Seems kind of bogus, no?
    Also, FYI, bluetooth is off.

  • [SOLVED] gnome-screensaver bug? unintended lock screen behaviour

Everytime I close my laptop lid, the screen locks. I am fine with this EXCEPT when I am using two screens. I watch movies with my laptop and I like to close the lid because it blocks my reciever from getting the signal from my remote to change the volume. With gnome 3.4, I have not been able to do this unless I disable lock screen completely.
    [conner@arch-laptop ~]$ gsettings list-recursively org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power
    org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power active true

    org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power time-critical 300
As you can see in the middle of this code block that closing the lid is supposed to do nothing but that is not the case. What I want is for the screen to lock when I close my laptop lid only if there is one screen or not at all. I could disable the lock screen completely through gsettings but that is not what I want either. Any help would be much appreciated and no I do not want to use xscreensaver

bump. any ideas. has this bug already been reported?
Edit: Found a way to fix this. Go into brightness and screen, then change lock off when screen turns blank. So basically, changing laptop lid close in gnome tweak tool or in gsettings to nothing doesn't matter since in the brightness and lock, the setting is to lock screen whenever it is turned off and obviously the screen is turned off since closing the lid does on just about every laptop. Marking as solved.

  • Lock screen timeout issue after Lollipop upgrade - Galaxy S5

I have the S5, and a couple days before installing the Lollipop update I changed my screen timeout to 30 mins because I didn't want my screen to turn off while looking at pictures for long periods of time. I didn't end up changing the timeout back before the update, so after installing Lollipop, it applied the 30 min timeout to my lock screen and I am unable to change it to a lower setting. I've tried changing the timeout settings under display and all sorts of variations of settings in the phone, and it works when I am actually past the lock screen, but lock screen still doesn't turn off until 30 mins passes.
The main problem with this is when my phone gets notifications in the middle of the night, the phone stays on for the full 30 mins and drains my battery if it isn't plugged in. Is anyone else having this issue? I haven't tried reverting back to Kit Kat to see if I can fix the issue, but I was just curious if there was another way to get around it before going through all of that. It would be really helpful if they would just add a timeout feature specifically for the lock screen so that I could adjust it there...

This has been reported on some other blog sites I recall seeing and the quick fix was to disable your lock screen.

  • After GDM lock screen, log into a different session

I think the following problem is caused by GDM, as it does not occur when using LightDM. Unfortunately I have found nothing interesting in log-files or on the internet, so I post it here, hoping someone can give a direction to solve it.
After running Gnome3(.16.2) for a while I get a lock-screen and a login screen. This is not the same lock screen as I have told Gnome to use whenever I would like to have the computer locked. The screen resolution is the same as that of the 'normal' login screen at boot, but not the same as the resolution I use on the desktop.
Logging in results in a new session on CTRL-ALT F4, leaving my original session on CTRL-ALT F2 (??), but without the mouse-cursor.
I have the lock-screen disabled, and running LightDM it does not show unless I explicitly tell it to.
The only desktop programs I use are MonoDevelop, Spyder3 and Firefox. I run Arch in a VMware-Fusion Guest for development purposes. I installed Open-vm-tools.
Running LightDM I am a happy user, but it nags me GDM cocks-up. Anyone a clue what I could research?
    Kind regards,
    Martin

Rotation lock is now a software function on the taskbar in 4.2 and the button now mutes notifications e.g. so that you can watch videos or listen to music without hearing email notifications etc.
Rotation lock : double-click the home button, slide from the left, and its the button far right; press home again to exit the taskbar; repeat to switch off rotation lock.
