Disable 'shake to delete'????

I find the 'shake to delete' action one of the most annoying features in iOS. I was hoping that there would be a way to disable it. Now it's present even in mail. Is there ANY way to disable that feature??? Please??!!

Okay, thanks for pointing out that I didn't get the EXACT name correct. You obviously knew what I was talking about. And when what exactly does shaking the phone in mail do? Oh, yeah, it DELETES text. <doh!>
Sometimes the "I have to be right at all costs" attitudes in this place humor me.
I'll go ahead and give you the 'credit' for the answer since you did confirm my dreaded suspicion, but I don't think there's really anything to gain by feeling you have to prove your superior knowledge.

Disable or Deactivate Delete Button in SAP Easy DMS.

Dear All,
My client is using Easy DMS and is working fine. Now the issue is as soon as files become more in Private or Public folder he is Deleting Documents using DELETE Button which is available on the Tool Bar. Whereas if he uses Delete Document from Context Menu it shows Authorization is not given to delete the Document.
Is there any way to overcome this by Disabling or Deactivating Delete Button on the Toolbar.

I've categorized item list on category section. and I've implement commitEditingStyle: for swipe to delete.
my Problem is when item not in any category at that time i display "No Data" on cell. i want to disabled swipe to delete for this cell.
When we add UITableViewDelegate Method
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tv commitEditingStyle:(UITableViewCellEditingStyle)editingStyle forRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath;
It's handle the automatically swipe to delete button and pass
"editingStyle == UITableViewCellEditingStyleDelete"

Implement:
- (UITableViewCellEditingStyle)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView editingStyleForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
and return UITableViewCellEditingStyleNone for the cells that you don't want to allow swipe-to-delete for.

Disable updates of deleted apps

How do I disable updates on deleted, inappropriate apps (17+) downloaded by my kid? He deleted them but they come back in updates. I understand they can't come off history but how can we get rid of them for good?

I was under the impression that ALL the apps you have acquired will show up in the Purchased list on the iPad's App Store, free or not. Just checked in the iPad and all 602 apps I have entitlement to, all free but one, show up there. Most are not on the device and a few I have not used in ages. This is the same list that appears on a computer's iTunes program, when logged into the corresponding AppleID and in the Library / Apps / All pane. Might need to do a Show Sidebar in the View menu if the Library item is not immediately visible
Beware, however, that items on that list can be hidden so a crafty kid may use the feature to keep the parents in the dark. Hiding can only be currently done via iTunes on a computer, not on the iPad. See here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

Cant open pages that need log in info. I've cleared cache, disabled extensions and deleted all cookies to no avail....help!!!

Any page that requires a username and password will not open, this started last Thursday and at that time I was able to reinstate by clearing cache, disabling extension and deleting cookies. Subsequently that fix failed and now doing all those things has no effect.

I found the answer: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071?tstart=0 It was a conflict with RealPlayer. Incidentally, in order to find this thread again, I had to use a google search. Is there really no way to find a person's own questions via our own profile???

Disable the App Delete functionality

Hi,
does anyone know of a way to disable the Application delete functionality on the iPhone - or make it so it requires a passcode;
I tend to let my daughter to play with the phone for educational apps and movies and she has a tendancy to wander and delete apps (resulting a couple of times in data loss)
Anyone aware of a good way to cripple or restrict the App management ??

No, you cannot.
There are plenty of posts here about parents giving their kids the phone and it ending up badly - its your choice. But if the dribble or juice trips the moisture senors, you won't get any sympathy. Letting a child play with a $600 piece of sensitive electronics really isn't sensible but its your choice.
Buy her a cheap Touch on Ebay and play safe.

Disable/Gray Out Delete Button in SRM

Hi All,
In the menu Shopping cart Status, I could able to see all the shopping cart.
Now the requierment is , DELETE button should be disable/gray out if there is any corresponding PO for that SC.
Please let me know how to do this. I tried with BADI BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI. But this will hide alll the SC's irrespective of PO's.
Please let me know any other way to do this?

The reuqirement is this:
A user attaches doucments ( using the Generic Object Services to attach document ) while creating/changing Purchase Requisition (ME51N / ME52N).
Now when any user goes to see the docuemnts attached to the PR, he selects the 'Attachement List' from the context menu, he should only be able to read it and should not be allowed to change or delete the document. For this we need to disable the 'change' and 'delete' buttons from the toolbar.

Probably you have uncommented the call to super class when you reimplement the method on child class (z class)
I just implement the same thing now and it worked for me. Take a look:
1 - Modify the SGOSATTR table by SM30, just write a Z class (in my case CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_CREATE) .
2 - Create/inheridt a subclass (not a copy) in SE24 of the standard class.
3 - Implement the method CHECK_STATUS in the z class. Note that the call to method on super class came commented. You only uncomment if you want to also execute a standard code in the super class.
Here is my code:

NOTE - In my real implementation I have uncommented the code below because I want do standard code be executed before my own check.

I have solved the issue Alhamdulillah by the foll. method:
1. Copied CL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST to ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST
2. In ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST there is a method called: CHECK_STATUS. I overwrote with my check;
on_mode_changed( 'D' ). --- For display
on_mode_changed( 'E' ). --- For edit mode.
3. In SGOS tcode, added VIEW_ATTA to point to ZCL_GOS_SRV_ATTACHMENT_LIST

Can't make an app shake and delete it

I can't delete an app on iPadmini

I don't think that restrictions will cause the apps to not shake but try Settings>General>Restrictions. Make sure that you didn't restrict anything that would cause the apps to not shake. But with restrictions, I think the apps will shake, but the X will not pop up.
I don't know if this will work, but you can try it. You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
Other than that, the next thing that I would try is to restore from a backup. If you have a backup from when this did work, I would try that. Keep in mind that when you restore from a backup, you restore everything in the backup back onto the iPad.
BTW ... Is this your own personal iPad - not a company iPad perhaps?

Disable or Auto deletion of Personalization in Portal 702

Dear all,
we have a portal based on NW 702 SPS9. We are wondering if there is away we schedule somehow automatic deletion of the Personalization Clean up (system administration > Support > Portal Content Directory > Personalization Cleanup) check the screenshot. For now we go there and manually delete these objects. Can this be done automatically or can we disable this at all?
Do not mix this with the AllowUserPersonalization ..its already set to FAILS in our environment.

Disable Playlists or delete them!!! Help!!!!

after i started to arranging my music acording to albums and artists i saved everything as library.xml files 1 for every artist, and when i started to import them i got endless playlists that i didn't create. they are making my computer slower and the iTone progrem doesn't move, it takes an hour to import 1 song cause of it.
how can i disable the playlists or delete them all at once?
to delete them one by one takes weeks!!!! and if i import 1 small library they all come back again!
please help!

BBP_MON_SC - Disable ability to Delete

We would be interested in making the BBP_MON_SC tool available to several users, however, we do not what to give them the ability to delete the shopping carts. Can someone tell me if you have disabled this functionality, and how you accomplished this.
