after having the 523 error reset problem
and fixing it by doing a format for my curve 8520
i have the text sms in conversation mode
and have no idea how to change it back to normal
this is how i have it in the main menu

Those are only icons.
There is not an option on the device to switch from "threaded SMS" style back to the old old style.
Your only option is to downgrade the operating system of the device back to what you installed before, probably OS 4.6 something. Do you remember what it was?

Sighhhh, wasted so much time yesterday and today going around Sony centre and then carphone warehouse. They told me to come back after Easter.
I came home, banged the phone against the wall and it worked.
Turned out that mic was working on loud speaker and when using headphones so I thought that the secondary mic is working and the main one (placed with the speakers) isn't. So I banged that part against the wall slightly (in plastic case to prevent scratches) then put the phone underwater, waited for it to dry and now it's working. Idk how well and if it's of perfect quality again but people can hear me well.

I can answer this question for you.You can't change the stock messaging application to turn off the conversation mode. You may be able to download a 3rd party application for messaging that could assist you with this feature.

Yes, it is possible to restrict the design of already existing workbooks.
You may go to Workbook Settings, enable the option, 'Password Protect Workbook' and keep a password
which may be known only to the people who can change the structure of the workbook.
When this option is selected, if you goto design mode, it would prompt for a password, and if correct password is entered, only then be allowed to add/modify design items.

I too would like to disable this "feature" as I don't use it, nor want it.
Just yesterday, my Microsoft keyboard malfunctioned and sent a burst of SMS messages through Skype until it drained my account which contained the default $5.00 credit when I signed up. I don't particularly care about the $5.00, but I'm annoyed that by dumb luck the feature sent these messages to my director (various quantities of 1s) and about 45 of them. The only thing that stopped sending the messages was that my account ran out of money. Good thing that it's not configured for auto-recharge. I have another Skype account with money in it and to prevent a similar occurrence in that account, I'm now going to dump the credit by texting myself. In texting myself because my cell phone has unlimited texting it at least will not cost me more money.
Depending on whether or not he has a text messaging plan on his phone this could create a nice little charge.
We need to have the ability to block SMS messages just as we can with our mobile phones.

Enhanced protection mode is breaking Java. We build IE 11 packages with the IEAK, and I can't seem to find the setting in the IEAK to disable enhanced mode. Anyone have a solution?

To add, we could modify this Group policy preference to change EPM settings:
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Internet Explorer > Internet Control Panel > Advanced Page
Here you will find the preference "Turn on Enhanced Protected Mode". Double-click it to open its configuration page and select one of the following values for it:
Not configured means that individual users can turn the feature on or off individually and without restrictions.
Enabled means that it is turned on for all user accounts and that it cannot be turned off, not even by admins.
Disabled means that it is turned off or disabled for all user accounts, and that it cannot be enabled by users, not even admins

actualy, if you need PDF-X1A standard, it's not as much about the export preset as is about the workflow. PDF/X-1a requires all fonts need to be embedded and all images need to be CMYK or spot colors. So if you have RGB images, they will be converted to obey the standard.

Texting stuck in conversation mode only, why?

I have new Palm pre plus WebOS 1.4. All my text are permanently in conversation mode. When I look under help on the phone it shows the text creen with 2 buttons on the top. The conversation/buddies buttons never show at the top of the screen when I'm messaging. Is there a way to fix this since not all my text are one LONG ongoing conversation and it would help me track texts. I have already tried to reset the phone and the buttons are still not there.

Every conversation is in threaded view. If you are actually in a contact's message you will not see the two buttons at top.
The only time those buttons are appear is if you are in the main view where you can see the different conversations with different people.

Recover accidentally deleted SMS conversation

Hi there,
Is there a way to recover an accidentally 'cleared' SMS conversation? The phone has not been synced since the deletion, but was synced prior, so, with any luck, the conversation should have been backed up to the computer.

If this deleted SMS conversation was exchanged prior to the last sync, you need to restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iTunes backup, which should restore all SMS that was exchanged prior to the last sync and iPhone backup.

Boss bought a new monitor for his mac book. We connected it but he rather keep the mac book lid closed in order to work on the bigger monitor screen. Soon as he closes the lid, the mac book goes to sleep mode.
Is there a free way to disable the sleep mode?

When the MacBook goes to sleep just hit a key on your external keyboard and the monitor will come back on.

I accidentally deleted a sms conversation between my Wife and I. I don't have a recent backup unfortunately as the last one was a few months ago. My question is, can I restore the sms conversation on my iphone using the backup from hers? It is the same information just on her iphone. Any ideas?

If you restore with iTunes or iCloud from your wife’s backup, you may have to erase all the content and settings on your iPhone, and all the data on your iPhone will be lost, and all the data in your wife’s iPhone will be written to your iPhone. Thus, it’s not recommended to do so. If you just want to restore the SMS conversions between you and your wife, try to use the iPhone backup extractor to extract the messages from the backup file of your wife’s phone. Connect your iPhone to the computer that has the backup files of your wife’s iPhone, run the software, after the scanning, select the conversions needed and then click “Recover”, a pop-up will ask: “Recover to Computer or Recover to Device”, click “Recover to Device” and the conversions will be transferred to your iPhone.

Disable single user mode

Is there a way to disable single user mode? I just booted in single user mode and w/o any password I changed my root password! In my mind this is a HUGE security hole, any one could gain root access to my laptop in a matter of less than a minute! I might as well not have a root password. I have the latest and greatest security updates, but this seems to be the biggest security risk in my mind.

If someone has physical access to your computer, your software is vulnerable in the way that you describe. There are a couple of approaches to preventing this problem. I have not tried any of this so I can only point you to some websites.
One way to prevent anyone booting into single user mode is to enable a password in Open Firmware, as described at Setting up firmware password protection in Mac OS X 10.1 or later. You would have to enter the password every time that you booted. And, you definitely would not want to forget your password; if you did, I don't know what you would have to do to recover.
A second approach is to use a 3rd party patch to prohibit casual use of the single-user feature. Look here for info on such a patch: Mac OS X Single User Mode Root Access. I believe that the software discussed here forces someone to type in a password to boot in single-user mode.
One question that I have about the second approach is whether it is possible for the patch to become out of synch with a future OS update. If that happened, one would also need a way to recover.
