Disable the "mini page navigation" box? (Reader X)

I use the mouse wheel button to scroll through documents.  Sometimes I inadvertently "double-click" the mouse wheel button, and this brings up a box in the upper right-hand corner of the window.  I don't know what to call it because I don't find a mention of it in the documentation.  It looks like a thumbnail of the current page and allows the user to select the part of the page that is displayed by moving the box that corresponds to the page view area.
Is there any way to disable this behavior?
Thanks,
David

I don't see a way of disabling it from within Reader. Maybe in your mouse settings?

  • I cannot disable the full keyboard  navigation

Hello I have quite a problem.
As it says above, I cannot disable the full keyboard navigation option, whenever I try to, it re-activates itself in the preferences, even if I just change tabs and return within the preferences.
Furthermore, the keys seem to activate oddly, as I do not know of any shortcuts bound to the S key (JUST the s key), which commonly causes Itunes to skip forward a track in whatever playlist I am playing.
I have tried changing the other preferences, and I can change them with no difficulties, it is just the Keyboard navigation that is giving me problems.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

On second thought... The help article cor-el linked mentions that Firefox may prompt you every time if the file is sent with the disposition:attachment header, i.e., forced save. You can bypass that problem (change disposition:attachment to disposition:inline) using the Inline Disposition extension. It has been around for a while, but I haven't tried it myself: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition/]. Maybe that's what you need for Gmail.

  • How can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2?

how can I print just a part of the page and not the full page with Adobe Reader v 10.1.2? I need to print a engineering print with lot of information but information is too small in letter size and I don't have a plotter.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
    ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
    SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
    Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.
    Hope this helps!

  • How to disable the world view in Acrobat reader

    Hello all;
I have searched several times now for a way to permanently turn off the global view/page navigator or whatever it is call that appears in the upper right corner of Acrobat reader when I scroll a document.  Some might find it useful, I find it gets in the way and covers the text I am reading while supplying no value as a navigation aid.
I cannot find anything that even references the little view box and gives it a name, much less tells me how to turn it off.
    Help please.
    Thanks Much
    Nick

Really, I get it on all my PCs all the time.  Just scroll a document and it pops up without being asked, then you click it close but no sooner do you scroll again and it is back.
Thanks for looking, I also cannot find any mention of it anywhere, I do not even know its proper name.
Sad, an undocumented, unwanted, unknown “feature”.
    Thanks MUCH!

  • How to disable the "turn page" event triggered by the scroll/swipe function?

    The problem is as follows.
The default behaviour of Acrobat Reader (both stand alone and browser plug-in) is to allow scrolling/swiping with the mouse wheel/trackpad. This is useful when the pdf's page length is greater than the screen's own length, because you can read the pdf with no need to distract your attention from the text to the scrollbar button. However, the same scroll/swipe function turns into a usability problem when the pdf is embedded in a html page and the pdf's page length is smaller than the browser's length. In this case, the scroll/swipe turns the page, distracting your attention from the text to the unintended behaviour of the browser. What happens is that you are so used to scrolling/swiping that you did it unintentionally in the pdf's caption area. You really did not want to turn pages in the pdf. Furthermore, if the pdf takes the whole html page, being a website, the scroll/swipe function flips the website pages in ways that neither the reader nor the writer had ever intended. Hence the question. How to disable, in this case, the "turn page" event triggered by the scroll/swipe function? A JavaScript should do, but the SDK documents did not help so far...

  • Enable "scrolling preview" behind the Crop Pages dialog box in Acrobat 9 ?

    Hi everyone,
I want to be able to preview the crop marks (when you click on "Document" and choose "Crop Pages" or Shift+Ctrl+T) before actually cropping all the pages of my documents. When the crop tool dialog box is showing, you can see behind it the crop marks that look like guides. In Acrobat 5, you could scroll the pages even with the crop tool box showing in front of your pages. This way, you could see the crop marks or "guides" on all the pages. But, in version 9, when the crop box is showing, you can only see the crop marks on the page(s) you're working on. You can't scroll behind the box to see what the others pages look like with the crop marks. I've uploaded print screens to make myself a bit more clear (Acrobat 5 vs Acrobat 9) :
    http://localhostr.com/files/0484a8/acro5vs9_crop.png
If someone knows a way to get the crop preview scrolling back, maybe with a plugin or Javascript, please let me know !
Thank you all for your help.
    Paul B.

Can somebody please help me? Nothing I do seems to open up the "crop dialog box".
I start with Edit > Edit Text & Images. Then, I click the crop symbol, and set the ranges of my desired crop. Then I want to apply this crop, but nothing works.
    I've tried:
         - Double Clicking Inside the selected crop-box
         - Double Clicking Outside the selected crop-box
         - Triple Clicking
         - Quadruple Clicking
         - CTRL-SHIFT-T
         - Hitting Enter
         - Right clicking
         - Searching endlessly for some sort of button pertaining to "apply crop", to no avail.
         - Changing to different PDF type (scanned, instead of text-to-pdf) and trying again
         - Yelling
         - Punching
         - Crying
None of the afforementioned seems to work.
    Help please?

  • Disable the (ctrl+shift+s) of reader plug in

    HI,
I have a link on my html page which opens the pdf file in html pooup window.
I know if pdf is visible in browswr window its already in browser cache. I am ok with it.
But what I want I dont want to give any other option to the user to save the pdf through the opened html popup.
    Solution I implement:-
    1) Hidden the menu bar of html popup.
    2) Hidden the menu bar of acrobat reader's plug in.
So now user do not have any visible option to save the pdf.
    Problem:-
If user presses the (ctrl+shift+s) to save as prompt window pops up.
    Can I restrict this.
Is their any type of setting/command in adobe acrobat which I can implement in my pdf which disables the save as commnad of adobe reader pluhgin.

Your post is more appropriate for the Acrobat forum and in particular the Acrobat Script forum. You probably need to have a script that will process any input. However, if Acrobat/Reader's Javascript support is disabled, then any scripting solution will not work.

  • Disabling the Expand Mode Alert Box

Hi,  I am trying to code a series of expansions and sends of an EvDRE while varying the page key reference each time.
I've managed to accomplish this fairly easily but I was wondering if there was any way of disabling the alert boxes that are displayed at various times during the expand and send operations.  I'd like the user to be able to execute the function and then walk away.
Hope that makes sense and I look forward to an answer.
    Richard

    Hello Richard,
Mihaela is right, in 7.5 SP2, there is a new macro that you can call from a button for example: MNU_ETOOLS_EXPAND_NOACTION or MNU_ETOOLS_REFRESH_NOACTION.
Those macros are not available in BPC 7M or 5.1.
    Hope this helps,
    Kind Regards,
    Patrick

  • Wow, did Verizon really disable the upgrade page?

I've been trying to get on the upgrade webpage for verizon and it has been disable. I believe this is so customers can't upgrade their devices. Been like this for a couple of weeks. I click upgrade device and it sends me to a page that says they are upgrading their site to better serve me and it gives me a number. WHY?

I have been trying to upgrade my phone also but everytime I click upgrade it acts like it is taking me somewhere but the same page pops back up saying Eligible for a discount! Immediate Action Recommended. I'm assuming they think I will give up and go order a phone at full price or go to one of the stores and buy one there. Sure wish Alltel waas still in business they had the best customer service of any mobile provider I have used. When I used to travel for work and spend months in another area part of the providers did not have service in those areas so I would give my phone to one of the local superintendents or project managers and get a phone with another carrier. I'm starting to feel verizon feels they are so big their customers no longer matter. BofA thought the same thing when they recently told their customers they had to pay a monthly fee for ATM cards, but to their surprise many credit unions picked up thousands of customers who pulled their money out of their BofA accounts.

  • Disabling the current page link?

I have a nav bar. I want the current link (whatever page you
are on) to be disabled and to be "pushed in" (my active link

could manually change each page but I would have to edit all the
pages if I change it again.

Are you using MODIFY | Template Properties to change it?

  • How to Disable the Adobe Flash Player and Reader Updates

Ok, For the last two months or so, I have been plagued by the Adobe Flash Player and Reader updater that will not go away. That's not the worst thing though: Somehow, someway, the Adobe updater subverts my entire windows 7 machine and makes itself the most important program on my system, stopping all other necessary functions. After I just turn it on, the updater will suspend all Windows operations in favor of the updater getting its message out the Adobe "needs" updating. I have tried updating the stupid thing, only to find that after the update goes in, my whole computer locks up and I have to load a system restore point. This thing acts like a virus, and until someone comes up with a way to make it work properly, that's what I'm calling: Adobe creates and sells a computer killing virus. I want a sure fire way to disable the updater that will work, and that will never bug me again about updating the virus. After going through three different computer repair companies, many online forums and chat rooms and my own knowledge of how to disable programs, I have instructed my firewall to block all attempts by Adobe to update. This has to stop.

    HI!
I have the same problem =)
I have fixed this issue using the "app.fs.isFullScreen = true;" statement.
Doing this you don't see toolbar anymore.
You can use "hideToolbarButton" instruction and, maybe, you can obtain a more interesting result.
Below there is a very interesting document:
