Disable thumbnail page

I am not a computer programmer who knows what a Boleen page is. I need a step by step instruction on how to disable the new thumbnail page. I just want it to do what it used to do when I opened up a new page - go to my homepage. I am using OSX 10.9.5
Please assume I do not know anything what so ever and really break it down barney style.
This morning I never knew this feature existed. I got home from work and POW there are all these thumbnails similar to the Safari thumbnails that were very easy to turn off unlike the Firefox ones.

Type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key to open the about:config page like you open a website by typing the URL in the location bar.
*If you see a warning message then you can confirm that you want to access the about:config page.
*http://kb.mozillazine.org/about:config
You can start typing browser.newtab.url in the search bar at the top to locate this pref.
Open the right-click context menu and select Modify and change the value to your preferred new tab page.
The default is the about:newtab page with the nine tiles with thumbnails.
If you want a blank page then set the pref to about:blank

Thumbnail Page Numbering in Acrobat 6.0

Hi All
I have Acrobat Professional 6.06 patched on a win XP Pro SP2, core 2duo, 3gb ram, Dell optiplex.
When i insert extra pdf pages to a chapter of a pdf document the pages are knocked on in thumbnail view, if i delete the pages i inserted then all the chaptering is removed totally ruining the document. If the document is printed it reads okay with the numbering but in thumbnail view it is ruined and we need these thumbnail page numbering to be there for a customer.
This is our procedure:
Highlight all pages to be numbered
Right click and select Number pages
Ie. Numbering begin new section
Prefix Chap 1 Page
Start 1
OK
On the final page of the chapter repeat above but:
Chap 1 Page 9/
Start 10
OK
All subsequent chapters are numbered accordingly.
I now want to add some pages to Chapter 1 because of an amendment. Page 9/10 will become 9 and pages 10 to 13/14 will be added.
I insert 5 blank pages at the end of the chapter, then drop the amended pages on to the blank pages and renumber the thumbnails.
Any subsequent chapters and their thumbnail page numbering should not be affected. -- this does not happen the pages are knocked on
If I delete any page or extract and delete then all thumbnail page numbering disappears. --- This does not happen all chaptering dissappears and normal page numbering is in place.
Any hekp or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I've never heard of the problem. But what I'd do is to figure out which of the source PDFs is causing the problem. Try recreating the combined PDF file by removing one page/section at a time to try to isolate it. It could be that that source PDF needs to be recreated.

Disable thumbnail preview

I have a layered PDF and need to create a slideshow of each layer. By the first page I can toggle layers on or off on each new page, but Acrobat insists on building thumbnails pages and it really slows the process down. How do I tell Acrobat Pro 9 I do NOT want page thumbnail images?

Doesn't look like there's any way to do that. In the drop-down there's even a command to remove embedded page thumbnails but it didn't seem to do anything. Is it still slow if you keep the Pages navigation panel closed and only have the Layers open?

(1) I now have over 200 photos that I'd like to be able
create a thumbnail page (or pages) for that link to the larger
images. I have seen other software (several years ago) that
basically takes a folder full of images and creates a linked
thumbnail page on the fly that you can FTP along with linked images
and your good to go. Dreamweaver have anything to do this?

(2) The site right now is static 1 way site. I'd like to have
the center part of the main home page have the lower area allow
visitor comments - much like a blog. How do I go about doing
that?

Not in dreamweaver.
If you want static page:
Look in Fireworks or PhotoShop or some other IMAGE EDITOR or
thumbnail
gallery application.
If you want a server side application that allows photo
uploading and
visitor commenting, look for a script like Gallery or
Coppermine or similar

HTML thumbnails page will take me to a Simple Viewer do I have to create 12 Simple Viewer galleries?

I have created an HTML thumbnail page with 12 thumbnails. When I click on a thumbnail I would like it to take me to SV. Do I have to create 12 different SV galleries for each thumbnail? EX: I have a project of an identity so I click on a thumbnail and it would take me to SV and I would be able to go through the different parts of the identity: logo, business cards, postcards, posters, billboards, and apparel. Can I just use one SV file and just use different XML files for each if so how would I do that?

We have created pages and page groups programatically. We would like to disable banner page links like Customize, Refresh, Login/Logout from the page programatically.
Can any one provide us any clues in this regard.Since we have about 200+ page under 50+ groups and doing this task manually is not feasible.

hi,
there is currently no public API to perform this operation. if your pages are using the same navigation pages you just need to change it on one central place. this depends if you have the navigation pages under the shared objects or if you using it locally for each page group. if you have it under the shared objects for all page groups you can change it there - you just need to do it 1 time. if you are using local navigation pages for each page group you need to change this for every page group.

ARe you using Adobe Reader? If so, what version? What is a thumbnail page? More details = better.

I want tabs to open at google.ca as they did before I got rid of the bing bar. Have gone to options and set it there but I still get the thumbnail page. Thx.

Instead I get the thumbnail page which Id rather not have. I x'ed out all the thumbnails so only the google.ca one is there but it's not a full page, just a thumbnail. I realize I can enlarge it. This is not a huge problem but I would like it solved.

Just to lay out the recipe all in one place:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''newtab''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.newtab.url''' preference and enter your preferred page:
* ''Page thumbnails (default)'' => about:newtab
* ''Blank tab'' => about:blank
* ''Built-in Firefox home page'' => about:home
* ''Any other page'' => full URL to the page
Press Ctrl+t to open a new tab and verify that it worked. Fixed?
Note: as per cor-el's suggestion, open the Google page you want and copy the "final" URL from the address bar to paste in when you update this setting. If you use a shortened version, then Google will send Firefox a redirect every time, which is a waste.

Navigation Panel Pages button not displaying thumbnail pages

Version of Acrobat = Standard 8.0.0
OS = Win XP SP2
Networked Dell Optiplex 620
61.6GB Free disk space
No error messages
The Navigation Panel Pages button will not display pages in thumbnail format.
When clicked the highlight around the button icon changes from a square with rounded corners, to just rounded corners on the left of the highlight. The right hand side of the highlight is cut off straight as if by the thumbnail panel that isnt visible.
This behaviour is also repeated on the Bookmarks and Signatures buttons in the navigation Panel as well.
Fiddling around with all the navigation panel settings or the document settings I can find has not made the thumbnail pages reappear.
I havent been able to access the Updates section of the Adobe website today to apply any relevant updates.

Just in case, I would go through the updates to get AA8.1.2 and check if that was a bug in 8.0.0.
