Disable time-stamp in comments

Dear all,
when adding comments to a PDF it automatically creates an annotation with the commenters NAME, DATE and TIME. Is it possible to deactivate this time-stamp?
It's the  version 10.1.1.
Thanks for any hint and kind regards,
Ole

Thanks for the idea.I tried it but it did not include the date/time in the output log.I did see it display on the screen.Am I missing something?

  • Displaying time-stamps on comment balloons

    Hi,
    I am a contract negotiator and often send a document back and forth several times with the document locked and "Tracked Changes" enabled so I can see all additions/deletions that the other party makes. The trouble is that after a few back-and-forths
    it gets very, very hard to keep up with when a comment was made.
    From browsing forums and searching solutions, it looks to me like the Mac version of Microsoft Word displays this information by default. The closest I can get here in my Windows machine is if I hover the mouse on top of the balloon/bubble it displays a
    time/date. However, that time-stamp changes every time I send/receive the document. (I'm not sure exactly why but my best guess is that the time-stamp displays the "Last Modified" time, and the comment is considered "modified"
    if a new comment is inserted above it, thereby changing the ordinal numbering of the original comment.)
    NOTE: In the picture you can see that when I hover the date displayed was 4/18 (the date I had recieved the document back from the other party), BUT I actually made the comment on 3/20 (this is how I've been working so I could remember when my comment was
    made, but I can't tell the other party to do this. This seems absurd to me and it's endlessly frustrating.
    The result is that I end up having to have the last 2 or 3 versions of the document pulled up, side by side, so I tell which comments are new to the current draft and which ones are just left over from the
    last version I sent to the person.
    This seems like a very basic/simple thing to me and I have searched the settings/options/forums/etc and I cannot figure this out! Thank you for any help you can offer!

    Hi Hal,
    Yes, the screenshot in my last reply is from Word 2013, but the result are the same in Word 2010 (yes, the "X minutes ago" is added in Word 2013). And I run the test (modify/add the comments) in Word 2010.
    I upload the screenshot from Word 2013 because as you've noticed, the time stamps are displayed more clearly. (sorry for the confusing.)
    I'm not sure if it is a know issue that has been fixed in the later version of Word 2010, but it still worth to keep your Office up to date, and I suppose you also need to encourage your co-workers to do the same.
    And after you have update your Office to the latest version, try create a new document and see if you can still reproduce this behavior,
    if no, then we can consider it has been fixed in the update;
    if yes, please provide more detailed steps, so I can try to follow your exact steps to reproduce it;
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    To keep your Office up to date, enable the setting under:
    Control Panel -> Windows Update -> Change settings -> Microsoft Updates -> Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows
    Also you can mannually download and install the Service Pack 1 for Office 2010 from:

    I'm thinking this might have to do with the system clock, except in FreeBSD and the BIOS the date/time is correct.

    I'm guessing your system clock is wrong in Arch.  Type "date" and see if it's the right time... and check /etc/rc.conf to make sure you have HARDWARECLOCK and TIMEZONE set right.

  • Remove the comment time stamp in a PDF document

    Does anyone know what's the best way to remove the comment time stamp from a document?
    thanks

    Do you mean that you want to remove the timestamp of a particular comment? If so, there are two timestamps associated with a comment, the creation date and the modified date. The modified date is what's shown in the comments list in Acrobat/Reader and can be altered by a script, but the creation date will still be present though unseen and unmodifiable directly with a script. It's possible to export the comments to a data file (FDF/XFDF), edit the file to remove/replace any timestamp info, and re-import the comments into a copy of the file that doesn't have comments. So the best approach really depends on what it is you're trying to accomplish.

  • HCM Process & Forms: Date & Time Stamp issue in Prev Comments Box

    Hi
    We implemented HCM Process and Forms and we are in EHP4.  We need user name, date and time stamp in each step for audit purpose.
    Form Process Example:
    Step1: Manager -> Initiates a Form for employee pay/position changes  (REQUEST)
    Step2: 1-Up Manager -> Approves a Form for employee pay/position changes (APPROVE)
    Step3: HR Admin -> Process a Form for employee pay/position changes (PROCESS)
    Process Overview: HR Admin can open a form once all steps are completed and they want to see all 3 steps date & stamp here.
    New Comments -> To enter user comments in each step. Used data type HRASR_CURRENT_NOTE
    Previous Comments-> To display prev. step / user's comments including user name, date & time. Used data type HRASR_PREVIOUS_NOTES.
    I tried all different property settings in the form. May be I am still missing some property settings here.
    Issue:  If user enters any comments in "New Comments" box then only date & time stamp is coming along with their comments in "Previous Comments" otherwise not showing anything, just blank in the Prev. Comments.  I added some code in form script in case no data in "New Comments" then default a value ":" . It is working fine for first step but not working the same for other 2 steps.
    Trying in different way:
    Creating 3 text fields in a form just for display purpose and modifying each field (data set) with some text (combination of user name, system date and time) at each stage/step in a BADI.
    Method: IF_HRASR00GEN_SERVICE~DO_OPERATIONS
    Here it is updating correctly for first step/stage (REQUEST) and other 2 fields are not updating accordingly. I did debug for each step and updating the data set correctly but finally not dispalying the valuse in a form except first field.
    Can someone please share your ideas or inputs.
    Appreciate your time & help!
    Thanks
    Hari

    Hi Sahir
    Thank you for your reply.
    As I explained in my post, user details with date & stamp are coming when user enters some comments otherwise it is blank., All users may not enter comments because it is not a "required".
    HR is needed this for audit purpose, just at end of the process they need to see all user names, date & stamp in the form. Forget about comment boxes, Can't we make just simple text fields with user details for each step (all 3 stages)?
    FYI:
    Issue:  If user enters any comments in "New Comments" box then only date & time stamp is coming along with their comments in "Previous Comments" otherwise not showing anything, just blank in the Prev. Comments.  I added some code in form script in case no data in "New Comments" then default a value ":" . It is working fine for first step but not working the same for other 2 steps.
    Appreciate your inputs !
    Thanks

  • File name for append processing mode with time stamp

    Hi Experts
    we are doing file to file scenario using the processing mode as Append.
    the requirement for us to append the files and we need to have new file name with time stamp added to the appended file.but in the processing mode of the file adapter either we can append or add time stamp. thatz the problem I am facing now.
    we are doing file based processing not message based ,micheal blog regarding the dynamic file name is for message based not for file based.
    Please provide your valuable comments.
    Thanks
    Faheem

    Hi mohamed,
                      I suggest you to map the target source structure to the required filename u want, like for example ur filename is input26062008.txt means to the target structure u perform the following mapping
    constant (input) concat with currentdate function --> concat with constant .txt --> map this concat to target. So u will get the filename u expected with the time.
    Then in the communication channel u select the mode as append. Now ur requirement will get solve i think so. plz try.

  • How do you make a time stamp update?

    Hi, thanks in advance...
    I am programming an interface to a scale... it retrieves a weight, time stamps it, enters a comment, then sends this string to a spreadsheet.
    My problem: the time stamp never updates unless I right click it > select "data operations" > select "set time to now". Then it's stuck there and never updates while the program is running. It just keeps on stamping 8:15 (or whatever time it is updated to) all day long.
    Am I using the wrong VI here or is there something else I have to select to get it to work?
    Thanks a million...
    Adam Stagnaro
    Abaxis Inc

    Try using the 'Get Date/Time String' or 'Get Date/Time Seconds' vi to obtain your timestamp. Which one you use depends on how you wish to format your timestamp. Im not sure which vi you are currently using, but it looks to me like you are either using a timestamp constant (which wont update in your loop) or control (which you need to manually update from the front panel).
    Hope this helps.

    <ViewHandlerImpl> <_checkTimestamp> Apache Trinidad is running with time-stamp checking enabled. This should not be used in a production environment. See the org.apache.myfaces.trinidad.CHECK_FILE_MODIFICATION property in WEB-INF/web.xml

    Isnt it a bit strange ? Please advise what is wrong.

    If you're talking about the integrated WLS, time-stamp checking is automatically enabled no matter what so that changes you make in the IDE can be picked up. It's nothing to worry about.

  • *.eml Time Stamp - Select File in Windows Explorer Changes the Modified Date

    The Windows Live Mail *.eml files time stamp is getting changed to the current date when the file is selected in the Windows Explorer! I save backup copies of important E-mails to folders on the Hard Drive and then synchronize them with the same folders on other LAN Hard Drives for backup archives. When these E-mail files are selected or opened from the Windows Explorer in the Windows 7 OPS the Modified Date Time Stamp is changed to the current date automatically! This action creates a real problem when doing later synchronizations of all of the folders! The date will not be the original date of the E-mail and the original file will be over copied with the file with the newest date stamp. I stopped Indexing on the *.eml files and that stopped the time stamp change when overcopy synchronization, but if the file is selected during a viewing in Windows Explorer then the Time Stamp is updated to the current date again! A solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated if anybody knows of one. Thanks - - - Shorto

    The Date and Timestamp changing issue in Windows 7 has a two part fix!
    1. Disable the Indexing of the *.eml file type in the Indexing Options located by Clicking on "Control Panel" -  "Indexing Options" - Advanced Button - File Types Tab - scroll down to the .eml file type and uncheck the Box then click OK to finish, so
    that the Email type of files won't be Indexed.
    2. Delete the Registry Entry listed below, be sure to Export and Save the original Key so it could be Restored if something goes wrong!  \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\PropertySystem\PropertyHandlers
     and Delete the .eml entry
    That should fix the problem with the changing Date/Timestamp of Email Files. For more information read CarlS's WindowsSeven Fourm thread where I also have more input:
     http://www.sevenforums.com/browsers-mail/35334-eml-files-timestamps-updated-constantly.html
    This should give you a better understanding on the problem and the Fix. - - - Shorto

  • Date and time stamp transfer via Firewire

    Hi
    Having issues with a Sony micromv camcorder transferring digital recordings via fire wire to Apple macbook- the files are transferrred without the date and time stamp on it. Any way around the problem. Thanks

    ebigglesworth,
    I too am curious about Frank's mention of the date and time removal tool.
    As an aside to your comment:
    I'd rather just be able to tell aperture I don't want the time stamp on the image, to remove it some how digitally, if that makes sense. You'd think it could just be backed out in some fashion.
    That's impossible. Your camera made it impossible. Your camera threw out some pixel data of the real picture in favor of replacing it with yellow, white, and black pixels (or whatever color your timestamp is). Basically, the original photo information is completely lost. All you can do is smudge things (in one way or another) and make the best of it. It will never look completely right unless you use a pixel editor (which Aperture is not) and painstakingly put color in, pixel-by-pixel.

    Does anyone know how to digitally remove the date and time stamp on the face of the photo once the photos are loaded in Aperture, short of doing re-touch? Working in Aperture 3.

  • Writing time stamp to file

    Take a look at the attached pic.
    Okay, now how can I have the time stamp written to the file along with the other data?
    It should be an easy thing but I can't make it work.
    Any comments will be helpful.

    A timestamp in not a signal data type so you can't use the merge signals. This is how I would do it. The convert to dynamic data type is probably optional. I hardly ever work with that.

  • Extract date/time stamp and modifier name from memo field

    I need to extract all date/time stamps and modifier name strings from the Work Log memo field - or conversely, filter out all of the comments after the date/time modifier strings.    I have the string extract but it only extracts the first one.  I need to loop until all are found - how can I do this?  The memo field will look something like this:
    3/5/2009 3:32:05 PM John Doe
    Comments - string can be any length
    3/4/2009 12:35:43 PM John Doe
    Comments - string can be any length
    3/4/2009 12:28:17 PM Jane Dough
    Comments - string can be any length and include date format 2009-06-04 14:20 CST.

    Here is a formula that will strip all 'comment' and blank lines and puts the datetime stamp and user names into an array.  You have to manipulate the elements of the array to further separate the datetime stamp and user name if required.
    // Declare two indices
    numbervar i := 1;
    numbervar j := 1;
    // Split each row of the memo field into an array
    // if chr(10) does not work then try with chrw(13) or chr(13)
    stringvar array x := split({Sheet1_.Comments},chr(10));
    // Declare a holding array
    stringvar array y;
    // Declare the size of the new array to be equal to the elements in array 1
    redim y[ubound(x)];
    // Copy only if the first word of each element of array 1 is neither "comments" nor a blank line
    for i := 1 to ubound(x) do
    if split(x<i>) = 'comments' or x<i> = '' then
    else
    (y[j] := x<i>;
    j := j + 1;
    // Compress the new array to eliminate the last blank element
    redim preserve y[j-1];
    // Joining the elements of the new array and the number of elements for display
    join(y,chrw(13)) & chrw(13) & ubound(y);
    With your example, this formula will return:
    3/5/2009 3:32:05 PM John Doe
    3/4/2009 12:35:43 PM John Doe
    3/4/2009 12:28:17 PM Jane Dough
    3/4/2009 12:27:47 PM Mary HadaliddleLam
    3/4/2009 12:26:55 PM Lamseedivy
    3/4/2009 12:15:22 PM Mareseedoes
    6.00
    Make sure the "can grow" option is checked to display the results and also check for case sensitivity of "comments".

  • Pages - time stamp in iOS missing in Mavericks?

    When I use iOS, I can clearly see the time stamp of when the document was last updated.
    The time stamp is not visible in Pages for Mac (iCloud). Since I cannot tell what time the document
    was updated, frequently after I begin to work on the document on my mac, a message appears saying that automatic save
    has been disabled, and, without warnings, the document reverts to the last updated iOS version.
    How can I activate the time stamp in Pages (iCloud) in Mavericks so that I can ensure the correct
    version of the document is uploaded before I begin working on it?
    Regards

    I have this same question! I DON'T WANT THE EVENT TIME TO SHOW ! I often just put my events anywhere on my calendar and have them take up 3 or 4 hours just so they show up larger, disregarding the times on the calendar, but rather typing my own times in at the beginning.  So, having the actual calendar event time show  is very confusing. Before the update, you could UNCHECK, show event times.  NoW that option does not exist!!  There must be a way to go into the system, and disable this function, however I am not computer literate enough to know how to do it without specific instructions.  DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW HOW TO DO THIS??? Thanks in advance!!

    Hi Rick,
    Firstly, please try to fully patch the terminal server, and disable third party software if there’s any installed.
    If the issue persists, please check whether KB2984976 is installed, if yes, please remove it.
    Best Regards,
