Disable transition on mouseclick

I followed an earlier thread on this - if you have four boxes on screen and each is a hyperlink, when users click anywhere other than the boxes the slide transitions.
The recommended solution at the time was to link the boxes to other keynote files.
I tried to make the background selectable as a hyperlink so that if someone clicked outside the boxes, the slide would link back to itself.
I have been able to create a shape object the size of the display, send it to the back so the boxes show, and make the oject a huperlink back to the same slide. It seems to work. Can anyone suggest a downside, or a better way for this?

The recognised way to use hyperlinks without the risk of clicking on the background is to
create a Hyperlink Only Presentation. This is set up in:
Inspector > Document > Presentation: Hyperlinks only

  • Disable transition with mouseclick

    Hi all,
I am creating a Keynote presentation to be used as a report for our corporate achievements.
After the intro-slide I created slide no 2 with 4 shapes (rounded rectangular) with text inside. I made both the text and the shape a link to a certain slide.
For example, the shape&text 'Financial results' is linked to slide 5. This works great for all boxes.
The only problem is that when someone clicks outside any of the hyperlink-boxes it automatically continues to the next slide in the presentation, while that is not what they chose of course...
Is it possible to disable transitions other than clicking on the hyperlinks?
Hopefully it's just a stupid question and it is easy to fix...:)
    Thanks!

Off the top of my head the only way that I can think to achieve that you are looking for is to have the hyperlinked slides be part of a different Keynote. So you would have your intro-slide and then the second slide with the 4 shapes. Each shape would like to a separate Keynote with only the one slide linking back to the second slide of the main presentation.

  • Disable animations/transitions globally in Firefox

Just thought I'd share the solution I've finally found to this problem.
Basically I was looking for a way to disable all fancy animations/transitions that happen whenever you hover over a button, tab etc. in Firefox. I'm using a theme that uses these transitions heavily and it just slows down the general browsing experience.
One annoying transition that I've been wanting to get rid of is when you try to move a tab around (changing the order of tabs). The transitions make this quite cumbersome due to the lag the transitions bring with them. I do this quite frequently due to using Tree Style Tab, having a vertical tree of tabs. I found several threads describing this issue, one of which was archived: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/802516
Anyways, the solution I've found to be working is to use Stylish (FF addon), and to create a User style with the following code:
<pre><nowiki>/* Disable transition effects globally - Helps prevent lag & hight CPU usage */
    transition: none !important;
    }</nowiki></pre>
If you only want to disable the tab move transition, you could probably track down the css file in the theme and the code in there that is responsible for that particular transition.
This works for me on Firefox 29.
Hope this info comes handy to someone out there.
    Cheers,
    Eddie
    Edit: seems like the code breaks when submitting this question. There is supposed to be a star instead of the bullet point in the code above like so: [star]{

    ''sireddie wrote:''
    <pre><nowiki>* { transition: none !important; }</nowiki></pre>
That's not a good idea. It breaks certain panel menus. Use the following style instead.

You should be able to get rid of that by setting ''browser.tabs.animate'' to '''false''' in about:config.

  • HT1583 When burning a DVD of photos and music from iDVD, the photos blur right before the transitions and the music has about 5 second glitches here and there before the music starts again. Is there any way to burn the DVD without this happening?

Each year I am in charge of making a slideshow of photos and music for my annual company meeting. I always use iDVD to set up my photos and music and then burn the DVD to play at the meeting. Every time I burn the DVD, it blurs right before the transition of the photo. It has always done this and I'm not sure why. It will also make the music glitch in a few spots for about 5 seconds or more. If I burn another DVD to try it again, the glitches will still be there, but in different spots. I've tried the highest quality of DVD's possible and this still happens. What can I do to fix this problem?

    Try disabling transitions altogether!
There is a technical reason that this breakup happens - it is to do with how slideshows can be saved within the DVD specification, they can either be recorded as 'video streams' or as a collection of 'still images'.
When you add transitions iDVD has no option but to use a video stream, this can result in terrible 'breakup' because the mpeg 2 encoder isn't designed to handle scenes that are static with a sudden short change. You can see 'artefacts' in the video stream…
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_artifact
'Still image slideshows' avoid the issue altogether by only showing a static image, no video compression is used & because the scene doesn't transition so it shouldn't breakup.
NOTE: Music on the slideshow is irrelevant, both types can use a soundtrack.
I cannot remember if it is possible to force iDVD to only make still image slideshows, I always use DVD Studio Pro to correctly setup DVD's. I'd suggest you use the option to save the DVD to a disk image & then open that disk image so that DVD Player can preview it, that should save on the number of test disks you burn.
If you cannot make it avoid using video streams you may be ether off making your own video slideshow in iMovie & then import that into iDVD. It may eventually look better despite being a video stream!
iDVD isn't really condusive to professional levels of control.

What could have possibly gone wrong? I also tried to reset the passwords of administrator and the user and restart the kdc services. It didn't help.
    Thanks.

I am not sure, the exact behaviour must be specified somewhere, but I was not able to find any precise documentation on the topic. It may be, that the DC preferes AES if allowed by the client and it may colide with the setting on the user account.
Anyway, why do you use the checkbox at all? If you wanted to enforce DES, you could have enabled the "System Cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and siging" policy which would switch the whole environment to DES or AES automatically.
The user account setting is meant to only those accounts that are used by non-windows services IMHO.

  • KDE4 + wallpaper slideshow: few questions about performance / tuning.

    Hello,
I am using KDE 4.4 from pacman and set my desktop activity to slideshow. I would like to customize few things and thus - I have few questions:
    1) Is it possible to change / disable transition effect when changing wallpapers? All my desktop is choppy and not responsive while the wallpaper changes and I am wondering if there is a way to repair this? (all images used as walls are at max 3MB big, usually something about 1MB. I have 7200 RPM disk, 2GB of ram and rather fast graphics card with newest Nvidia drivers, so I don't know what is the cause of slowdown...)
    2) How can I programatically progress wallpaper to next image (not with the right click / Next Wallpaper image)?
    3) Is there a way to disable the wallpaper change while there is a fullscreen application running? I am asking this, because when I watch HD movies and the wall changes, movie playback is really choppy... (I think that answer to the first question will also help me in this case).
I would be glad for any sugestions / interest in helping me;)
    Best regards,
    Mike.

    Hello
1/ There's no way I know to remove the transition. Using the "raster" graphics engine helps a lot on performance : kill plasma-desktop and launch  `plasma-desktop -graphicssystem raster`
    2/ There's a plasma applet for this :
    http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Ne … tent=94251
    http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?O … twallpaper
Maybe you can adapt it to your needs / find out how it works.

  • Is there a way to speed up or disable the Spaces transition animation in Mountain Lion?

The Spaces transition animation seems to have gotten slower since upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion. You could disable it with a terminal command up through Lion, but that doesn't work anymore in Mountain Lion. I'm using Ctrl+Arrows to switch between Spaces.

I''m finally seeing what people are saying
I've heard quickly gesturing for a space is a solution. Mission control is also fast with switching.
Although I haven't really timed myself doing that.
You can send feedback to apple saying you would like it to be faster http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html (make sure you state you're on Mountain Lion)

  • CP 6 disable slides transitioning on left click

    Hello,
I'm having a slight issue with CP6. I'm trying to set up my project using back and next buttons, but once the slide finishes playing, if i left click anywhere on the screen, it proceeds to the next slide.
    my set up:
I am importing PowerPoint 2007 files into my project with High Fidelity, with transition set to automatic.
I am using master slides with a back and next button on them already, with the check box selected for "Pause project until user clicks".
I don't have this issue if i import my slides without high fidelity. (however i need this selected in order to capture all of my poewrpoint functionality such as drop shadows.)
    bump

I have mananged to figure what the probelm is after a few hours. Basically it was a hardware malfunction of the trackpad, however if I just disabled the track pad the cursor was still jamed. I had to do a shut down plug in an external mouse, then without touching the tracpad at all disable using the external mouse. Now it works fine just with the external mouse.
Hope this helps anyone who has the same probelm as me.

  • Speeding up spaces: How to disable the transition animation?

Is there some way the disable the Spaces transition animation? I would like to change between the different virtual desktop as fast as possible.
There are some times when it gets quite annoying: when you move to other spaces the screen flickers if there is a big window to be re-drawn.
    Thanks in advance

This is the boilerplate text often used in connection to networks in general. It is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe:
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files.
Working across a network in general is not supported by Adobe.
    See:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html
Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.  It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.

  • Why is the transition type property disabled?

I'm doing a VI similar to the Digital Waveform Graph example. But, as in the example, i find the transition type property (changeable on the plot legend) enabled only for the first plot and disabled for the rest. I want the plots to be shown as the second transition type style. What have I to do to enable and change them?

I was reading in the Help that:
Transition TypeDetermines how LabVIEW distinguishes differing values on the plot. This only affects plots with more than one bit.
I'm guessing the behavior you're seeing (which I also see) has to do with the fact that this property "only affects plots with more than one bit." I'm still trying to figure out how to configure that. Are you familiar with this?

  • How to disable full screen "fade" transition?

    Hello,
Just got my new MBP and upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion in the process. Computer seems to work great, but Aperture now has this odd "slideshow" like fade when I toggle to my images in full screen. It's slow and distracting, more gimmicky than anything else. Does anyone know how to disable this?
Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere...couldn't find a thread by searching.
    Many thanks,
    David

Thanks, Leonie. It's nice to know I'm not a lone voice crying out in the wilderness! I find it hard to believe that other photographers who use Aperture for professional work aren't bothered by this feature.
My problem is that yes, a direct "cut" from one image to the other--like it used to be!--is the only practical way to compare photos...
I have tried to find ways to "turn off animations" in the Mac OS, but it seems that none of the old methods that worked with Lion worked with Mountain Lion.
I will take your advice and write feedback to Apple.
    Best,
    David

  • Slideshow problems - dissolve transition - disabling Ken (sodding) Burns

After using iphoto4 for awhile, I had some problems with itunes and slideshows that I couldn't resolve. Finding a few bucks I decided to upgrade to iphoto 6 - big, big mistake. I use duplicates of my photos, then add or delete layers in photoshop, bringing in nice changes - usually names - by dissolving from one to the next. It worked very well. The photos now darken, even though I disabled/enabled/disabled the colorsync profile addition, and the dissolve from one slide to the next appears to darken, then lighten showing a very obvious and crude recreation of what was a seamless change in iphoto 4.
In addition, there is apparently no way to globally change preferences to the way slideshows are set up. Every slide show has to have the same changes made to the settings - disable Ken (%$#@#$) Burns - change the times and whatever the color sync problem is.
Does anyone know how these problems can be resolved?
Can iphoto 4 still be purchased? Does anyone want to exchange an iphoto 4 install disc for my iphoto 6 disc?
